Boring! There is nothing new that wow hasn't done before (aside from the story). Same graphics, same gameplay, same missions, etc. I'm also bored of the lack of real action just click click and loot.

Some of the systems were developed with attracting new players to the game but they just went too overbord with it and in the process dumbing down the game. Understanding that diablo 2 was such a awesome, kick ass game it was going to hard to top but they didn't even come close to it and it took them 11 years to produce this pile of trash. After playing through the game once I felt that they just sold me a box of poop because that's what diablo 3 is in fact, a 60 dollar box of feces. Expand

I wanted to love this game, and based on some pro reviewers I had high hopes. But I'm not sure we're playing the same game. It is very repetitive, and the dialogue is punch-in-the-face bad. To make matters worse the character banter is totally random with no regard to what is going on. For example, my characters were chatting about the current location being a shockingly disgusting place that needed to be sealed off, dialogue obviously meant for hell. But I was in heaven at that point. Also got comments about "here in the keep" when I was not in the keep any longer. May seem like a small thing but it kills suspension of disbelief, and after 12 years.... they didn't notice or care about that? Other dialogue is so cheesy it goes way beyond what's allowed these days in a top-tier title. Gameplay is feeling very repetitive.
Also I get logged out with error 3007 about every 2 hours, with no reply from Blizzard on that one. That does kill some of the fun.
On the bright side, the cinematics are drop-dead amazing looking.

unlike D2, it had no itemization, map customization, and character customization.
The story is short, the map is small, and removed many good elements in D2.
Obviously, Blizzard is just hurry to sell the incomplete game to player. Oh, the A.I. in the game is crap too.
    Zero replaydability

shame on Blizzard create such an empty game.

This is a game made by Satan himself(Bastard even got his generic name in the title) that summons an horde of demons to torture our kids while playing it, and make them too attached to money with the evil Auction House. All christian games should stay away from this game if they want to be saved.

Terrible stoy and narration, one kid 5 yo would have done better (the same as with starcraft 2).
Always online drm for single player in the most retarded thing ever done.
A game built upon the shameful real money AH.
Terrible graphics, I expecter A LOT more than the usual WOW art style.
Gameplay wise is worse than Diablo 2 in many areas.
Ridicolous price for a bad product like this.

Finallly, online DRM.... battle net down again.... first weekend.... they have had so long to get this right. And they have failed miserably. If online DRM was not around, I'd give it an extra couple of points. As it is, I have a distinct problem with not being able to play a single player game without the need for an internet server.

It costs about $60; and this is for a game that is 2-5 hours long. many indie games I purchase on steam have more than 2-3 times the play time for a play through, cost about 1/4 - 1/3 as much, and have originality to them.
Bottom line- it is a bland, unfinished, ill conceived game. I would wait at the bare minimum 9-12 months and buy the GOTY edition for $30 and it is fully patched.

Case in point: I accidentally mistyped by BattleTag and opened a ticket to reset it. The reply? "Sorry, we didn't code for that."

    Seriously?

From crashy servers to generic, unchangeable BattleTag IDs, there is no part of the technical infrastructure that Blizzard executed properly. Since I can't play the game itself without the servers, my only frame of reference is what I saw during the beta test phase:

    * The artwork is okay, if somewhat "toony."
    * The story is okay, if somewhat generic.
    * The Witch Doctor class feels entirely out-of-place, as if it belongs in some other game.
    * The skill and rune systems have been dumbed down from Diablo 2.

Overall, Diablo 3 is an average-to-mediocre experience at a premium price. The game plays more like an Activision title than a Blizzard one. Let the buyer beware....

I just finished normal mode and made it into the next playtrue, however I don't feel like playing much more. (got maybe 8 hour gameplay.) Reasons are mixed, but it generally is summed up as the game looking and feeling like it should have been made in 2005 or 2006. It's simply not worth the price. Try getting Magicka or Torchlight II instead, which is both cheaper and in my view better.

What's actually new here? Simplified skill system that takes away meaningful choice. Obelisks that transport you out of dungeons. No TP scrolls, no need to go to town to identify rares. Cash-based auction house. "Lore" bits that play audio over the top of the game itself (after popping out of the same stupid satchel), making it clear that you aren't role playing or adventuring here, you're controlling an avatar in a video game. Everything new is designed to make the game more accessible to casual gamers and easier to monetize. This is made perfectly clear by the need to have half of the dialogue be a retelling of 1 & 2. In the short term, I'm sure they made decisions that will help the bottom line. In the long term, this is how brands get destroyed. But I guess if you're an executive these days, it's all about getting your quick buck and leaving the consequences to the next guy.

The gameplay has been casualized beyond any posible acceptance, it's just not diablo, it's a childish game with bright colors, the would should depict rainbows and a happy smiling sun if they wanted to make some justice.

The colors looks like vomit, it's as simple as that, diablo II had a great art style, that was all replaced by boring textures with some serious bloom problems, I don't know if the devs wanted to make it look like fog, but it just looks bad, if they wanted a good example of fog they should look at the original trilogy of Silent Hill.

I beat the game in 2 hours, 2 HOURS, I honestly feel scammed, I haven't even been into games in the recent years, yet this still felt like a crappy difficulty design. Why is every single game today trying to be as easy and linear as call of duty?

And then, the most important thing, it's a god damn single player game, who thought it would be a good idea to add DRM? I'm getting lag in a single player game, hello? Blizzard? it's 2012, what the hell do you think you're doing?

For example, Act 2, by Blizzards own admission is supposed to focus on intrigue and deception - and has little of either that I could tell. The entirety of this Act was bland and unmemorable.

All of the alleged "twists" in this game were mind-numbingly lame. There are atleast 3 characters that suffer from memory loss, one of the most cliche and overused plot devices in existence.

Blizzard retconned and filled in alot of Diablo history to come up with the most convoluted and childish story every drempt of. The extremely contrived plot appears to be aimed at an audience legally too young to purchase this game.

There is no offline singleplayer, which makes sure your solo experience is filled with all of the possible connection and lag issues of any multiplayer game. So far these issues have been numerous.

The auction hall(s) and the game's dumbed down experience ensure that good items for your character are far too easy to come by, which is a huge flaw, seeing as Blizzard put a huge focus on gear to replace a completely gutted levelling system.

As a stand alone title, this game is mediocre. Keeping in mind the time in developement, and the legacy of the series, Diablo 3 was a dissappointment, whose "Concentrated Coolness" sounds way to similar to Dragon Age 2's "Awesome Button".

I cant save before a particularly big bos (or at all) and deaths are respawned back at you last checkpoint. It's exactly how an MMO works, and I dont like it.
