May 15, 2012Extremely disappointed with the draconian DRM. The "error 37" problems should make obvious what a poor policy this is...especially given the resources put into this project, there's no excuse for this kind of shoddy launch. Publishers and producers need to learn to start respecting their customers, more and more people are rightfully demanding a quality, polished DRM-free final prod

May 15, 2012Connection issues suck but they are a very temporary issue. Core game play is solid and everything we have come to expect in the Diablo franchise. Way to go Blizzard, good job.
-
May 15, 2012I didn't wait 12 years for forced online DRM with **** servers that boot your ass out every 15 minutes and pay2win RMAH.
0/10 **** casualcore wouldn't play again. -
May 15, 2012So after having played this game for around about 3 - 4 hours, I can confidently say that staring at a screen saying 'error 37' is not fun. would not recommend if you like fun things.
-
May 15, 2012This game is totally worthless. Even that dungeon siege 3 has better graphic than this game. Blizzard ruined Warcraft and I see they ruined Diablo too. Don't make any more game Blizzard, PLEAAASSEEEEEE
LET's play Torchligh 2, I will be better. -
May 15, 2012Got to play it for about 5 minutes before connection errors. If a game fails at being fun, it should fail any review. I hope Torchlight II is better than this crap.....
-
May 15, 2012This game doesn't deserve the diablo name. The intrusive DRM ruins the experience for everyone, there will never be any modding capabilities, the content is poor, after all those years, it turned out to be just a cashing machine based on their RMAH and hype

May 15, 2012Just completed normal, and half of nightmare, its boring and all about crafting, no fun, no cool items, noo cool monsters, music is boring, graphics are old. Giving one for old blizzard reputation.

May 15, 2012Error 37... So no singleplaying for me... So I just sit here and wait or I play another game in the meantime... I don't know... Torchlight maybe?....... 'nuff said........ I may write more and change the score if and when I'll be able to play it...

May 15, 2012Dumbed down severely. pay 2 win AH and a constant online connection is required to faulty servers. Good job Blizzard, you are catching up with EA. Hopefully Torchlight 2 can replace this bitter taste.

May 15, 2012
-
May 15, 2012It's diablo 3 not diablo 2-2, you can't expect just a refreshed diablo 2. It's a new game, give it a chance and don't review based on battlenet, review on the game.
-
May 15, 2012Don't waste your time and money on this game. It's not even close to Diablo 2 or even Diablo 1. Blizzard is just trying to use it's famous title to milk customers.
-
May 15, 2012Sadly i was expecting a better game. No character customization, no more attribute points to distribute, which would easily make the game a little deeper. And skills unlock automatically... this is a disaster.
It seems like blizzard released their second bad game. First one was the world of warcraft. -
May 15, 2012
-
May 15, 2012Game had a bery bad launch. The graphics looks like they took WoW and turned it into an isometric game and slapped the name Diablo 3 on it. Very disappointing.
-
May 15, 2012This game really gets my jimmies in rustle. The characters in it move way too slow. How can anyone enjoy a game where nobody can into fast? What a joke. You can't fight the power and pierce the heavens if you're moving at turtle-pace speeds. Blizzard, I am disappointing. But enough with this - I'm off to sit on my throne in Bel-Air.

May 15, 2012It's pretty much World of Warcraft with a higher camera angle. Did the new Blizzard devs even play the older Diablo games? The game lacks soul, the art is good but it's not gloomy - everything to too vibrant. You can tell Blizzard 2.0 could care less about voice acting, they hired people for cheap and you can hear it.
-
May 15, 2012- Online only single player.
- Disney storytelling.
- Cartoonish monster design.
- It is only 2-5 hours long.
- Looks like Wow.
- Blizzard sure knows how to hype, the cancer killing videogames.
- Outdated graphics, Titan Quest has better models and textures, game from 2006!! - Evident viral marketing, come on Blizzard, be more subtle - etc etc -
May 15, 2012I beat the game already.
It's so damn easy I think I'm going to have to try a no items run instead. This is what happens when they get the team from world of warcraft to make the game, instead of the team from diablo 2. -
May 15, 2012
-
May 15, 2012This game is perfect in very aspect, the cinematics are incredible the graphics are amazing , its the best hack'n'slash of all time, try it and you will love it
-
May 15, 2012Terrible DRM that requires you to be online and then terrible support from Blizzard at keeping the servers online and actually allowing people to play, or better said not allowing since they did piss poor job at making descent servers. No character customization in 2012, arguably Diablo 2 looks better/less blurry at times, no lan, no pvp or proper pvp after they add arena.
Not a good game. -
May 15, 2012This is the worst JRPG I've ever played. It's hardly playable. Even the story is bad, there are no interesting characters just some boring devil and a character you make. Where are the cool villains like Sephiroth?
Good points of the game are that the game is colorful and really easy. -
May 15, 2012Designer Shigeru Miyamoto once said that the first 30 minutes of a game are the most important. So I hope youâ

May 15, 2012Game's fun as **** Played through Act 1 with 2 friends, taking it kinda slow it took us about 3 hours, but people have work so we'll be starting up again later this evening - can't wait to get back into it!
-
May 15, 2012One of the worst play time to cost ratios. I could have a whole day at a paintball stadium for the money I shelled for this game, which, due to an unstable internet connection, I can't even play smoothly, even though I'm only interested in single player.
Good job, Blizzard. -
May 15, 2012
-
May 15, 2012Unfortunately the graphics look dated and the game breaking bug is terrible. DRM ruined everything. The first level is nice, but then you realize that something is wrong. At some point, spaghetti got out from the main character, and they get on the floor and walk the dinosaur.

-
May 15, 2012Decade of experience running online games to have the game fail to launch ON SINGLE PLAYER due to their network. They took everything that was Diablo and flushed it down the toilet, from gameplay to graphics.
-
May 15, 2012This game is a horribly streamlined version of Diablo 2 with even less content, graphics comparable to a 2004 release, a cash shop which will cause the highest bidders to be the most powerful easy, $60 price tag despite being on PC and a ton of other things which make this just a horrible cash in on a classic title, just stick to Diablo 1-2 or any of the other clones out on the market.
-
May 15, 2012As others have said, launch day server failures are an embarrassing but enlightening example of exactly how bad DRM is for gamers. Add that to boring, casualized gameplay and you have a shining (or should I say reeking) example of the state of the gaming industry today.

May 15, 2012No review mad this early in the game's release is going to be reasonable or fair, so here's my anecdotal review to offset all the ridiculous negative ones. Logged in right at release, had no lag or problems whatsoever, and what I got to in the game was amazing. Definitely worth the wait.
-
May 15, 2012blizzard doesnt care any users. they only care for money. actually, it was obvious that diablo 3 wont be better than diablo 1 and 2 because former producers are working for torchlight now. only hope we have that after this time, people wont buy this game anymore and make blizzard think that they really done the worst and have to do something to make it better
-
May 15, 2012Much like everyone else, the game fails to connect and when I finally did get in, the game was nothing like Diablo 2, much less a sequel, at all. This game is not a true successor to the game we all know and love.
-
May 15, 2012Started off by having to wait hours before my payment was transferred (kept for hours in queue).
Meanwhile the downloader bugged out on me for some freak reason, getting errors.
After hours of misfortune and eventually got everything running I tried to log-on but kept getting errors like error 37.
This is the worst launch of any game in history. -
May 15, 2012
-
May 15, 2012Unfortunately a disaster. Repetitive and nothing that we haven't seen in other hack and slash games. Good visuals but nothing more. InsÃpid story/background and too little classes. I think that this is a good moment to Blizzard rethink their future plans about Diablo.

May 15, 2012Got to play it for about 5 minutes before connection errors. If a game fails at being fun, it should fail any review. I hope Torchlight II is better than this crap.
-
May 15, 2012Pretty fun gameplay, but the requirement to be always online is ridiculous. If someone is torrenting on your network, enjoy the high ping for both the singleplayer and multiplayer experiences.
-
May 15, 2012Very disappointing, the art style is horrible WoW crap
this isn't Diablo 3 at all
The game itself is 8 hours long
massive disappointment the graphics are decent but the customization feels so limited, the game has gone backwards -
May 15, 2012I can't play the game, I get some error code - server busy or somethng like that. I thought the game had single player campain, that's why I got? I try to contact tech support but the site is down or timeout. My friends told me Blizzards is the great game company - get game, I feel very disappoint now - just waste my money and can't play it :(

May 15, 2012Played beta enjoyed the hell out of it, the full game is fantastic.
I don't understand how people can post scores of 0/10 because they have had errors.
The graphics, sound and physics/animation are all fantastic. The difficulty is definitely there once you're above level 15 and playing in hardcore mode. -
May 15, 2012Getting disconnected from single player all the time. Very buggy, unfinished with dumbed down customization and cartoon graphics. Just terrible. And to top it all off over-intrusive DRM; because you know, its not like I planned on playing it later on in life when the servers are shut down.
-
May 15, 2012Diablo 3 is so boring you would have more fun at a bingo hall. Also the connection problems at launch are awful and show how incompetent Blizzard is. The graphics in game are also not close to what a Diablo game should look like.
-
May 15, 2012It could have been great after so many years, but Blizzard just wants to fleece us: destroying single player and LAN play, and forcing everybody to play online so we spend money in their Auction House just destroys the game, however good it can be.
Shame on you, Blizzard. -
May 15, 2012
-
May 15, 2012As was expected, the game is way below it's predecessor. Constant connection requirement, real money auction house, 4 player maximum, cartoonish art style, bans for using display sharpening software and 2 hour short game are only the tip of the iceberg.
With this installment, ActivisionBlizzard have finally secured themselves a spot in my top 5 most hated developer list. -
May 15, 2012Amazing game!! People need to stop crying that they can't get on been playing it for 4 hours now its incredibly fun, good graphics amazing sound and the combat is fun and challenging, already compiled some cool rare items and look forward to more treasure hunting :D
-
May 15, 2012The game is great, but with the error37 and the constants internet "check in" make this a bad game" Why this blizzard?? We bought your game, we want have it.

May 15, 2012Horribly awful. No point in this game and it's pretty clear this was made just to cash out with the Diablo name so that retarded fanboys would shove more money into the direction of Activision-Blizzard.
-
May 15, 2012Blizzard make impossible thing. Diablo 2 was one of the best games but Diablo 3 surely much better.
Free builds, in-game lore explanation, story. This game will take all my free time in the near future. Going to take vacation at work to play more -

May 15, 2012An all round disappointment and failure. I found little to no immersion in the actual game, not to mention ERROR 37. After playing for many hours I lost hope to this long awaited sequel of over a decade. Shame on you Blizzard for making me spend my money.

May 15, 2012Great game: everything I expected and more. No problems logging from Europe in the early morning of today. Stop ranting about day one errors please... just judge the game.
-
May 15, 201212 years exchange for an 8-hour game, what should I say?We dont know ,cause the Blizzard officer told us to play it again and again to find out the so-called entertainment inside .But I can hardly enjoy this awful game and the error 37 internet connection problem,I choose to quit , farewell ,Diablo3.
-
May 15, 2012Really doesn't feel worthy of the Diablo title. Just way too disappointing. Feels like yet another development pushed forward only because the developers knew it would rake in the dough almost as much as a new cod game. The creativity and feel of adventure is gone in place of a cheap thrill that wasn't even at all cheap.
-
May 15, 2012Diablo 3 was expected to be a great game, because of the success of the previous Diablo games. You'd think that Blizzard wouldn't make a game this bad after working on it for so long, although I didn't expect another Blizzard game to be good after the catastrophy which was "Cataclysm".
-
May 15, 2012+Decent graphics. -Always online DRM, -Lack of skill diversity, -Connection errors, -Play to win, -Short story. This game is a step back from Diablo 2, so I recommend avoiding it.
-
May 15, 2012Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Ridiculously expensive, boring gameplay and ugly looking. Diablo 3 is utter mess and i cant recommend it to anyone.

i love the WD attacks they are all so visceral! -

May 15, 2012Gameplay is boring. The storyline of Diablo 3 isn't very well done and it's very sub-par compared to Diablo 2. The graphics are not modern and are on the same level as PS1 game. The gameplay is not great either. It's been very simplified compared to Diablo 2 and the Real Money Auction House is a let down. Overall, I'm not happy with Diablo 3.
-
May 15, 2012Too simplified game principles, wow graphics, too many concessions. Poor atmosphere as well. This game is not so good as Diablo 2. I don´t like new health/mana system as well. Character development is very simplified.

Aug 31, 2012My one major complaint is that the game never feels very difficult, especially on Normal. There are frustrating moments, hordes of baddies, and increasing difficulty levels, but the same feeling of utter defeat never really happens as it did in the past.
-
Hyper MagazineJul 18, 2012For all the game's missteps, though, you certainly can't accuse Blizzard of phoning it in - if anything, the game suffers from the tendency to try a little to hard at times to evolve the design. [Aug 2012, p.61]
-
Jul 3, 2012When it works, Diablo III is the best of the Diablo games. When it doesn't, all it does is make you mad. [July 2012, p.54]
