    everyone is **** on this and i understand why. it IS a short campaign , it DOES recycle assets, it SHOULD have just been included as part of the base game. However, it is a better experience than the base game. during the base games campaign i was bored 80-90% of the time. it was dull , the writing was uninspired , it was too easy and i personally really did not enjoy it. the CoO campaigneveryone is **** on this and i understand why. it IS a short campaign , it DOES recycle assets, it SHOULD have just been included as part of the base game. However, it is a better experience than the base game. during the base games campaign i was bored 80-90% of the time. it was dull , the writing was uninspired , it was too easy and i personally really did not enjoy it. the CoO campaign on the other hand was well written , with better encounters with the mobs. there was a lot less of the "stand here for 3-4 mins while a progress indicator increases and waves of **** flys at you". they either hired different designers for this, or they just put a lot more effort in. the heroic strikes are a welcome minor increase in difficulty. and the heroic adventures are a fantastic difficulty hike if played solo. the increased difficulty of the nightfall and the raid is also welcome.… Expand

    It is a step in the right direction, on the PC there is nothing at the moment I prefer to play
    for $ 20, the DLC is ok. Bungie will continue to improve the game I have enough to do in the game

    Well I binged Destiny 2's core content and did everything but the prestige mode Leviathan raid, because there was no incentive to do so. I love what Destiny could be but, outside of The Taken King and maybe the initial Destiny 1 launch content, it's never lived up to the hype. Most of the DLCs for this game have been mediocre at-best. For the Curse of Osiris, not much changes. What is goodWell I binged Destiny 2's core content and did everything but the prestige mode Leviathan raid, because there was no incentive to do so. I love what Destiny could be but, outside of The Taken King and maybe the initial Destiny 1 launch content, it's never lived up to the hype. Most of the DLCs for this game have been mediocre at-best. For the Curse of Osiris, not much changes. What is good about this particular DLC? You get to interact, albeit shortly, with Osiris - the guy that we've had competitive festivals over. There are moments where exploring the Vex-infused world of Mercury is absolutely stunning and well crafted. Without spoiling anything, there are time travel elements (temporary) that allow you to see eventualities or past events which help build the narrative around Osiris, who's lore was mostly buried within grimoire cards in Destiny 1. Time travel is not a thing that should spoil this game for any players that have been with it for a while since that's what the Vex have been trying to do: create alternate realities and test invasion tactics on all living things until they find a course that works. That's something you'll be tasked with disrupting in Curse of Osiris and when we speak about the campaign in summary, it sounds awesome. However, it never delivers much in terms of memorable content and every mission is buried with a lot of filler content in what is known as the Infinite Garden - a Vex-crafted world that generates itself in certain ways to offer you a playing surface, until you get to a Vex portal you need to pass through in order to get to your real objective. Like the Infinite Garden, there's a lot of recycled content, including a mission which takes you through a core Destiny 2 strike and doesn't deviate whatsoever. This is quite annoying because the DLC rarely feels like it has expanded on anything and delivered interesting and new worlds to explore, nor does it really do anything to enhance the ones we already have. To be honest, the only parts of this DLC that I've liked, without playing the raid, have been the end of the campaign battle which takes on very simple raid battle mechanics and the adventures that follow, which are also buried behind the Infinite Garden - you play 80% of the DLC there :(. There's a new Mercury public event but it appears that there's only one. It's a great, semi-complex encounter that keeps players moving around and should easily attract players to it, since it's in the middle of the smallest playable space in all of Destiny that isn't a small multiplayer map (no joke, this open space is basically the size of a larger multiplayer map). To ruin the experience, Osiris isn't narrated very well and his involvement is sparse and dying to be expanded upon. Because the campaign can be beaten in roughly 2 hours or so we're left with limited exposure with a Destiny character that is among the most important we've ever encountered. Osiris is hardly more than a blip on the map and the campaign is extremely bland, just like most of the playable content. So if you've got the season pass, you're already locked in. However, if you don't have the season pass there's a MAJOR PROBLEM HERE. Some core Destiny 2 content will be soft-locked for you. Prestige mode content will not be playable to any player that doesn't have the DLC because the difficulties are increased well beyond what a strike team can realistically handle (even a set of Guardians at light level 305 will struggle to handle the higher power level content that suggests 320-330 power level). So, to make this simple to understand, Bungie is taking away playable content if you don't buy their DLC. It's stupid. Perhaps they'll fix it, but the first week of the DLC's launch currently operates like this. It seems that for every good thing Bungie does with Destiny, there are 3 things they do horribly wrong. Until they fix their game and stop letting Activision run it to the ground via paywalls there's little hope that Destiny as a franchise can ascend to the potential many gamers see in it. That's too bad and it means that the Curse of Osiris will quickly be forgotten by gamers that aren't going to be serious about the expanded Leviathan raid, because there's next to nothing else to do here.… Expand

    This is a very short DLC with no new enemies and seemingly a significant amount of recycled art assets and encounters. Things could have easily been cobbled together from destiny 1 and 2 to create this DLC.

With 2 players the story was completed in 1 hr 30min. 3 heroic adventures were completed in 45 minutes after that. The 3 golden chests are obtained in about 10 minutes and the lost sector is maybe 10 minutes. Strikes are short after that if you get them through your playlist, the strikes are recycled campaign. Other than 1 easy PQ there is not much left after that. Some of the new exotics are interesting. PvP was busted by a bugged weapon.

    Mercury is simply too small.

    Raid is unreleased but I am not convinced it will be anything special considering the current offerings of this DLC.    … Expand

The Gameplay, on the other Hand, is good. Fast and responsive. It,s a Powerfantasy though so the difficulty is pretty low overall.

    I had 2 Crashes in my playthrough, just a black screen and the game went.
    The Game looks great no doubt about that. Performance is good. I play on a 1080Ti and with a resolution of 3440x1440@100Hz with highest Settings. I pretty much always stay over 60 FPS, Average FPS 90-120(capped)

    my Final Thoughts: more of the same is what comes to mind with this DLC. And not in a good way. But it does not deserve to get a 0/10.    … Expand

    I had high hopes for this expansion. But this product cannot be called that. There is not much new here, unfortunately.

    The main story(very short, repetitive, same locations over and over) has some great backstory/art behind it, but how it is handed to the player through gameplay/interaction with the world is very, very poor.     The endgame(for a solo person as me) wasn't really made better. I had hope that with introduction of heroic adventures that would be addressed, but there are maybe 3 of them on Mercury alone. The new strikes are the same locations from the SP osiris campaign which is unacceptable. Chat and matchmaking for endgame are still missing.

    The infinite forest is a joke, infinite in name only. Its implementation is so poor that i'm amazed such a thing come to pass. Looks great though...

    Also the game seems to have problems with its networking. I get constant disconnects on all activities a 1-2 times an hour. No problems on other games(pubg, Battlefront 2).

    Add choosable difficulties to every activity already!! The fun in the mindless grind is not there if its not challenging enough.    … Expand

    Where to begin...

    The story campaign? Very short 2 hour campaign that they stretch out by making you jump back and forth from Mercury to Earth, then to other planets as well. One of the story missions is the Pyramidion strike, but shorter, easier and with no end boss. They also stretch the campaign out by using the "infinite forest", but I'll come back to that. The voice acting is    Where to begin...

The voice acting is mostly bad, par for the course for Destiny. Sigara's voice actress was alright, far better than any of the other characters that's for sure. I wish we could keep her as our ghost instead of Nolanbot. The player character being totally mute even when being asked questions just gets more and more awkward.

    The campaign was incredibly easy, especially since one can bypass most enemies in the "infinite Forest" by just running from door to door. The final boss was even worse than Gary. You fight waves of easy enemies and play some little league basketball, then Osiris teleports you into the boss' face and tells you to shoot it. You shoot it once and 1/3rd of his health disappears. Rinse and repeat two more times.

    Now, on to the... content? The Mercury patrol area is tiny, really really tiny. So much so that they disable your sparrow. There's only one public event, and it drops two chests, which so far have given me two tokens and a blue, every time. No joke. They brought back Heroic Strikes, with no modifiers, so they are exactly the same as regular strikes except the enemies hit a little harder. There are 3 adventures on Mercury, and doing these adventures is the only way to access the "infinite forest",

    The "Infinite Forest" is a joke. It's a terrible name. It's not infinite and there are no trees. I guess "The Lego Bridge" wasn't pleasing to the ear, but that's what I'm calling it. The Lego Bridge is a way to get from Mercury to wherever the campaign or the adventures want you to go. There is always a set Point A and Point B, then you have a bridge that warps in one small section at a time. There are a number of different lego blocks that warp in with a number of different enemy types that can spawn on them. This gives the illusion of variety, as every time you cross the bridge you will get the lego blocks materializing in a different order. Some times it'll take a lego block you just passed through and give it to you again, but backwards. There are also no challenging enemies to be found on the bridge. It gets boring after the second time you do it and notice that you're just going through the same lego blocks over and over.

    Most of the cool new loot is locked behind Eververse, the microstransaction loot box system. Hurray!

    Few beautiful missions without challenge. Nice art, but very very short duration. 2 hours of gameplay for increased level cap and few exotics. And it also blocks users who doesn't have dlc from doing heroic strikes and guided leviathan.

    God damn, Bunige! The first DLC I bought was The Dark Below and since this DLC I'd prefer NOT to buy DLC never, ever again. And, it seems, you did it again.
    Why don't just take more time to bring us more single and coop unique missions?

    20 bucks for an hour and a half. It had good possibilities and yet they dropped the ball. So much could of been done with the infinite forest and the forge.

The last straw was this faux-expansion, released only a matter of weeks after the launch of the PRIMARY game. I wanted to ask for a refund just for the expansion. How could I possibly say that I got my fill out of the first game when it was only live for less than 2 months? Sure,Here's the reality: I wanted to like this game, but I cannot accept what they are doing and have done with it.     But hey, if you want to increase your chances of loot from public events, you can always drop some cold hard cash on Eververse loot boxes for the Electronica Shell for your Ghost. That's right folks, we are now entering P2W territory with Ghost shells that increase xp gain, loot drops and more!

I’m not sticking around hoping that the game will be fixed, I’m out. Bungie’s intentions are to casualise the **** out of this franchise and milk the audience with microtransactions and I want no part of it.     All bungie faults, all game's critics missed my ears. At that time i played just for the idea that this game despite all it's drawbacks will evolve into something truly great.     I have just processed my Destiny 2 refund with Amazon because of this expansion. The cut throat greed of Cashtivision these days really is just harming the brands it publishes. Would not buy another Destiny Franchise game until they release the whole game and offer the DLC for the life of the game as one purchase.

    D1 advanced in this direction but the deal I got on the base game and    I have just processed my Destiny 2 refund with Amazon because of this expansion. The cut throat greed of Cashtivision these days really is just harming the brands it publishes. Would not buy another Destiny Franchise game until they release the whole game and offer the DLC for the life of the game as one purchase.

    i beat the story in an hour. 20 dollars. an hour. what do you want me to say? its an update not dlc. they basically said "the light cap is higher now , do your milestones for another 2 weeks until you're done with the game again" they reuse the same maps over and over and even have the gall to use them in "new strikes" i mean seriously, go to a bargain bin and buy literally anything for 20i beat the story in an hour. 20 dollars. an hour. what do you want me to say? its an update not dlc. they basically said "the light cap is higher now , do your milestones for another 2 weeks until you're done with the game again" they reuse the same maps over and over and even have the gall to use them in "new strikes" i mean seriously, go to a bargain bin and buy literally anything for 20 bucks, your money is wasted here. mercury is the size of a freaking strike. 1 public event. 1 loot cave. just pass. i own this on both PC and PS4, holy crap what a mistake… Expand

Just as I got settled, ready for more ... it was over. I found this to be really disappointing, especially as half of the missions took place in areas from the main game (iirc 4 in total, 2 on Mercury, 2 on planets from the core game). Just as I got settled, ready for more ... it was over. I found this to be really disappointing, especially as half of the missions took place in areas from the main game (iirc 4 in total, 2 on Mercury, 2 on planets from the core game). Due to the fact that one of my primary complaints about the core game is that the campaign was too short, this paid for DLC added pretty much absolutely nothing.

    In addition to this, there are only a few more adventures, and only one Public Event on Mercury, which is tiny. Furthermore, for players who don't buy the DLC, they are locked out of a lot of content they had access to during the core game. It's an absolute travesty.

    This is all surrounded by the fact that the content added to the ingame microtransaction store, Eververse, is huge, which shows what Bungie is really all about.

    I'm a first time, and last time, Destiny player. Never buying another Bungie game again after this.    … Expand

    It's clear the end-game has been locked behind Eververse (loot-boxes). Our guardians have been nerfed into the ground. They took away all our items only to trickle them back to us as watered-down D2 versions.

    The quality of life changes include a nerf to the shoulder-charge to prevent it from being used as mobility.

    I played Destiny 1 the other day and the comparisons sum up Destiny 2. I'm disappointed and bored. A gorgeous game with amazing sound can't make up for everything we've lost.

    I feel slow, weak, and mute. My guardian won't talk. My guardian can barely sprint anymore. My supers are weak. My subclasses are wet-noodles and constricting to choice. The armor is pointless and so are the mods.

    This is a scam. Same enemies, short and bad and boring story, MOST of the new gear is in loot boxes, the boss fight is easy and again it is the same one that we already fight in the base game. Dont buy this dlc!

    Small raid. A few new items.
    New area is tiny, you don't even get to use a sparrow its so small.
    I don't know what bungie is doing besides doing as little as possible for premium money.

    Pay $20 for a couple missions and to unlock endgame content that you could previously play with the base game (Trials, Prestige Nigthfall, Raid). Scam.

    In Japanese, Osiri stands for bottom, bum or buttocks. Which kind of sums up this incomplete lacking DLC in a nutshell. This DLC is Destiny 2 : Curse of Ass!

    I marveled at the beauty of some new landscapes, but I will remember Curse of Osiris as a string of disappointments. Dumb story, few new features, endless grind, poorly balanced difficulty, awfully lame final encounter. [02/2018, p.49]

    Curse of Osiris does not improve Destiny 2 the way someone might wish. New players won't definitely be attracted, but fans will be pleased with the new content. [Issue#282]
