This game is an excellent example of the richness of the roguelike genre. An FPS roguelike is hard to find, much less one that is done this well. Even though the graphics are blocky and pixelated (an aesthetic I happen to love), I still often find myself scared silly. That's because there is no telling what is around the next corner. Nothing is sacred, nothing is safe, which is exactly what makes for a good roguelike. I love the environments, the variety of enemies, the random potion effects, the quick interface, and the difficulty curve with each deeper level. If you're into roguelikes, then you owe it to yourself to check this one out. Expand

Pretty good, very simple, enjoyable and I love the theme and the very cute pixelated graphics. Combat is very simple but yet quite satisfying. A fresh change from the all me-too AAA war FPS. Highly recommended.

A fun game that's easy to get into and retro in its feel. When I play it the visuals remind me a bit of Hexen or Heretic which is nice. Auto saves every second, which is nice when you need to exit quickly. A game that is good for when you have a little bit of free time in between work. It's simple yet enjoyable.

Delver is a light roguelike that nails everything important and adds a massive dose of charm. It's nowhere near the depth or complexity of most games in the genre, so pretty much anyone can pick it up and enjoy it! That's not to say it's easy -- early stages are fairly forgiving, but the endgame is pretty much guaranteed "death-on-a-stick". So...yeah! Rougelike at heart.

The games major selling point is its ease-of-use. There are no set character classes or gigantic learning curves. Jump in, grab whatever weapon you find, and play the way you want. It's possible to be a fighter, archer, or mage (or whatever in between) simply by collecting the appropriate gear and bringing the smack-down/lightning bolt/arrow-in-the-knee to your various and sundry victims. (Except for the one that kills you. Obviously.)

The design and aesthetics are brilliant. Somehow, the game manages to feel exactly like a roguelike despite the first-person approach and 3D environments. Replay value is pretty high, as each play-through can easily be finished in a sitting, and you keep all of the gold you find between characters (which is useful for buying decent starting gear.) The graphics may look basic at a glance, but there's enough detail and charm there to get the job done with a real sense of style.

On the whole, it's a very easy game to recommend!

it's cool, somebody said on steam it's a 3d version of the binding of Isaac, that might describes it best.. sure there is permadeath but you can backup your saves to not get frustrated with it.. all in all graphics sound music the dungeons.. I love it.. it's not too long but you can play it again and all dungeons will be different so..

Très sympathique roguelike. On apprend petit à petit comment fonctionne le jeu. Chaque partie est aussi difficile que la précédente, ce qui est vraiment sympa.

Amazing game, hard as a roguelike should be, varied environments! Ever wanted to play a roguelike from first person??? Delver has you covered. and if you get bored try the item physics, you can throw items or place them anywhere! Lovely game, endless fun!

Apart from little variety of enemies and interiors this roguelike’s biggest flaw is that it does nothing to draw the player away from the boring playstyle based on eliminating enemies from a safe distance. [04/2018, p.68]
