No need to think twice, we had a lot of time loop games. But Deathloop can get the most out of all elements. And whether you're protecting the loop or destroying it, don't forget to die a few times, it's fun.

Despite these gripes, Deathloop on the PS5 offers some fantastically unique features that properly elevate the experience in new and creative ways. It’s the definitive place to play the game if you’re on console – though it’s not like you have much choice.

Deathloop is one of the best games to hit in 2021. It’s confident, it doesn’t take itself too seriously, and it combines what makes Arkane games great – and makes it better.

Deathloop overdoes it now and then but remains a fun shooter with inventive time loop mechanics.

Deathloop turns both succeeding and failing into learning experiences and never makes you miss the lack of a quicksave option. It’s a mean feat that sets it apart from other games, and one of several reasons why it should be on the list of any immersive sim fans out there. It might not be Arkane’s best game and Blackreef may struggle clearly defining a personality for itself, but it’s certainly no stranger to great moments.

Deathloop is a rewarding and ambitious experience that smartly combines Arkane’s immersive sim bedrock with a fluid nonlinear structure. Its smooth gameplay and naturalistic narrative stylings are interrupted by lacklustre PC performance, though it fulfils a puzzle-box Groundhog Day fantasy few other games have been ambitious enough to touch.

It feels sometimes like Deathloop couldn’t decide what it really wanted to be. Stealth game? Bullet opera? Retro-cool ‘60s spy romp? Mind-melting time travel story? When it tries to be all of these things at once, it ends up not being very much of anything. I liked the core concept but after twenty hours I didn’t feel like I knew more about how an island could get stuck living the same day over and over than I did at the outset.

Game runs absolutely smoothly without crashes on RTX 3070Ti, GPU utilization is about 60% at Very High settings. However, the game has well-known stuttering issue if VSync is off.

    2. Performance issues are mostly fixed. I played 40+ hours with 1 crash.
    3. What people do not understand is that this game is the best when online mode is active. When you play as Colt, you can get invaded by other players like in Dark Souls. Awesome!
    4. This is not only 4 maps, because we have also 4 times of day. Maps not only look different like day/night but different things happen on them. Different areas are opened/closed, different enemies, different events.
    5. After you finish main story, you can experiment in it more + you can play as invader!

I did not like the dialogue nor the main characters, the targets were not interesting either and the levels bland. The worst part of it all was the handholding! Why don't you let me discover clues myself and piece it together? Quest markers were annoying and I found myself rushing through the levels just to get it over with. The brain dead AI that forgets you after a few minutes even after slaughtering half the map did not help either.

I was overpowered after three runs already and had gear that did not need to be changed. Overall I was a bit shocked Arkane released such a mediocre, forgettable game.

The PC port is unplayable. Too many bugs and the graphic optimization is terrible. Wait for patches.

Most of the abilities, weapons and skills are literally just taken and recycled from their previous title '' Dishonored ''. The game actually takes a ton of things from Dishonored but does them way worse than they should be. The game play mechanic of ''Loops'' is not used to its full potential and by the middle of the game it becomes a tedious chore of checklists. The Story was fine for the most part but nothing that interesting. All of your ''Targets'' are washed down characters with barely any background and story and look exactly like any other NPC which make them barely distinguishable from the other basic enemies. The optimization for the PC is one just awful and they still haven't fixed most of the basic issues that the game has. I would say avoid this game since it feels like they have barely tried to make a functional, entertaining and provoking game and failed miserably by giving up half-way through. Expand

Bethesda support doesnt help, story is pretty boring, too much backtracking, it just gets boring after a while because you already visited every level many many times.

I am very disappointed after Prey (2017) which I loved.
