Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition is another great game remastered. The story is fantastic, with a great background mythology. The gameplay with Death is very good, one of the best games of this style; Another good thing is the soundtrack. Visually the game has improved and does not have many bugs. Epic. Only word to describe this game. Combat is simply awesome and is on par with top notch titles like God of War and Devil May Cry. Graphics are significantly better than the original release. The DLC integration is well done and Gunfire has made many minor gameplay changes which greatly refine the experience. Death himself as a character is just amazing and his sarcasm will appeal to almost everybody. Michael Wincott (his voice actor) should receive an award for doing such a good job. Oh, and by the way "THIS IS NO PLACE FOR A REVIEW". 10/10 Expand

Pros: cheap if you get it on steam, would never bother with microsoft or sony systems. They'll rip you off.

Cons: Needs both a highly descript walkthough just to play. Probably needs a controller. Boring, Linear, Poor controls, bland console port.

Get it cheap on sale. The view and poor help in the game pretty much killed it for me. I don't know how they manage to attract new players to this game seriously as there isn't anything about it that really distinguishes it.

    My rating.

Game is great...But the port is so damn bad. A lot of bugs and glitches. Like a door wont open or an NPC wont talk with you until you restart the game. The game crashes also often. The frame rate is disastrous a lot of screen tearing and frame rate drops every second.

Now, I'm really curious as to what kind of dev had the balls to release a "Deathinitive Edition" so completely riddled with bugs and glitches; Things that should have been ironed out and fixed on the first sales weekend are omnipresent in this version, from enemy AI ceasing to function to the player character being unable to damage anything, to animations getting stuck. I wouldn't bring it up except that almost every session I played I encountered one of these and it was really making it hard for me to return to it.

I'll start by saying that I am NOT a fan of the Diablo style loot and leveling system. It is so redundant and unnecessary that it weighs down the game incredibly. I don't want to have to make a "build" to play on a higher level, I don't want to have to get stuck grinding to be able to beat a boss or an area, this is not what I play action platformers for. The first Darksiders made exploring fun and profitable, made levelling up your weapons worthwhile (even with the ungodly completionist spider grind), in Darksiders 2, each act of exploration and backtracking rewards me with... loot... woohoo. another piece of junk I probably won't be using, or would be sacrificing to one of my possessed weapons.

War had an excuse to losing his powers and having to build again from scratch, why is Death so weak? The comic that came with Darksiders 1 presented death as superior to War and "practically invulnerable" whereas here he is often ridiculed and mocked by pretty much every character he meets? No one fears Death? Aren't the horsemen the most feared beings in existence, with the power to destroy anyone who threatens the balance? He has to learn how to fight from an undead human? Really?

The platforing is by far the BEST part of this game. I've had an amazingly fun time figuring out ways to get from point A to point B and death's agility is a welcome change from War's clumsiness. The fluidity of being able to scale a wall using various tools and maneuvers is just satisfying on a deep level for me. The first time I got to the Eternal Throne I was blown away by how fun it was, short though it is, especially after long hauls of riding Despair back and forth in the Forge Lands.

The story (and by that I mean a very limited perception of the main quest) is interesting, the expansion of the lore is welcome, however the RPG like questing absolutely destroys every shred of fun you can have with it. The entire game is basically a bunch of fetch and kill quests. That's all there is to it. No variety. "Go here, KillFetchActivate". This worked in the first Darksiders because it didn't have "sidequests". You didn't have to go and kill 50 Chosen. And what do you get for working your ♥♥♥ off? Rarely enough you'll actually get something good. But Mostly? Loot... woohoo. Why not make it so that each quest allows you to learn some ability?

The world is massive and for most of it? The designs are amazing. Pretty much every locale has its own atmosphere and vistas, almost every dungeon is designed with great visuals in mind, pretty awesome. Fast Travelling is one of the things I do not object to in this case. Serpent Holes were pretty annoying after you went through them the first 30 times. Despair I'm not a big fan of. His controls barely work, either due to bugs or bad programming, half of the time if I tried fighting on horseback he'd just randomly stop and neigh.

The soundtrack is pretty damn great, it fits the atmosphere of each level and area, it knows how to stir you up, it knows how to calm you down, it almost feels like the game tracks where you are and what you're looking at to play it. Well done!

And lastly, the combat. Look, the combat in and of itself is fantastic, the moves, the combos, everything flows, everything is intuitive, unbelievable. I would give the combat alone the best score possible. But it's dragged down to the gutter by the stupid RPG mechanics that have no place in a Darksider's game! Why does death need so many weapons?! Aren't the Four Horsemen supposed to be equipped with legendary weapons that can only be surpassed by even more legendary weapons?! This beautiful masterpiece of control programming is bogged down by stupid RNGs and stats and items... And it doesn't even feel rewarding because it gets you so little XP.... But hey, at least you get loot... woohoo.

The man who wrote and selected the music of Darksiders 2 is a genius, the atmosphere there was bezmenny, the transitions between the battle and parkour and just a journey.

I'm halfway through the game, but there's nothing motivating you to progress in the story. Despite the superficial course of its predecessor, "God Of War", it did it very well with its presentation and so on. The gameplay dynamics are good at first, but after a while I got bored for the reason I mentioned earlier. Although, what's wrong with you, as if you care...

One of the most boring games I've ever played. The feeling from slasher is ok, but the way the game is meant to play is awful. The whole game is based on the "spaghetti" game play, when all you do is taking a quest, trying to complete it, then you're said that to complete that quest you have to collect smth, and for that you need to solve awful and annoying puzzles. I just dropped the game because I didn't have enough patience to cope with this poor game design.

Though I've heard some complains about bugs and stuff, but I haven't seen many.

    P. S. The best part in this game is where you do parkour on the ship in the Kingdom of the Dead

This game is set after the events of the first game. You play as the second horseman, Death. He is the leader and the most powerful Horseman among the four. He is on a self-imposed quest to clear his brother's name for bringing Apocalypse in the first game. Death relates to the average player who plays Darksider, Attack First, Questions Later. Its quite a long adventure and mostly the badass protagonist who seemed OP in the game trailer is nerfed. There are countless dungeons and the map is divided into four regions which are quite huge as well. The worst part is the countless weapons you get on your way and it becomes useless very quickly.

Tip - Just keep the Possessed weapons and recycle all the weapons and feed them to the Possessed weapon. Don't sell anything for coins and don't buy stuff, you get better stuff along the way, and Vulgrims chests are quite useless so don't waste your time collecting the coins

    My scores for this game
    Story: 7/10
From one part onwards, I lose the story of the game and go to the side missions, and the story is not understandable to me, and I must say that the story of the game is related to the previous version, and here we are the brother of the character of the first version. The reason for the deficit of points is the confusion of the story. Graphics :

The reason for the deficit of points is the confusion of the story.
    Graphics : 10/10
The graphics of the game have been updated and have been very excellent. When playing some vegetation and the surface of the ground and the structures of the game, I did not see any graphic defects.
    Musics : 7/10
The music of the game was good. The only reason I deducted the score was that sometimes the music was interfering and I had to cut it off sometimes.
    Details : 9/10
In many places, I paid attention to the details of the textures of the structures and the surface of the ground, and some heroes. I did not see any flaws or violations, except for one point. It was neither on the controller nor on the keyboard: /
    Game play : 10/10
It has its own gameplay, the previous version has been updated, and it has a lot of fans, and it has a lot of weapons. I personally used all the available weapons, and there were many puzzles and challenges, a perfect score.
    Variety : 10/10
The variety of stages was great, there were even beautiful dlcs on the game that I could not experience in the section.
    Characterization : 8/10
There are many characters, but some of the game characters seem to be from world warcraft :(
    Optimization: 2/10
Frame drop was not a problem for me, but it crashed a lot, I had to restart the system.
Bugs: I saw a bug in the game. The girl I had to talk to disappeared to continue the game.
    Note: The game was crashing.
Description: In general, the game is good, I really enjoyed the story and gameplay of the game, but after clearing the crash, I deleted it after the end of the story part of the game, and in one part of the game, it does not move forward and crashes, so you can move forward with the help of this guide.
My guild: for fix crash https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2626950146

Old hit remaster doesn’t offer enough of a new content to justify its price. So you can consider DII: DE only if you have no previous experience with Darksiders II – and you should because the age didn’t hurt the game at all.

Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition includes all the DLC's and the huge content of the original great game, but the graphical overhaul suffers from inexcusable stuttering and frame-rate issues that prevent you from really enjoying it.
