Jul 8, 2014Dark Fall 1 is too clunky and difficult to be fun. It becomes a tedious click-hunt if you missed something in a room, and important puzzle pieces are buried in too many notes, diaries, and books. The minor satisfaction of solving a puzzle just isn't worth the amount of story reading that is required to solve it.

Oct 27, 2018Atmospheric yes, but tedious too. You have to work your way through every key. Did you miss one, there is indication of it. It just won't let you into further locations.
Not a good way.
Awards & Rankings

netjakThis title lacks the coherence and the qualities of a confined, scary space that helped to make the first part of the series so great.
-
PC GamerThe challenge isn't necessarily soliving puzzles, but making sure you've examined every single bit of every screen. [Dec 2004, p.89]
-
The new directions the game goes in dilute the qualities that made the first Dark Fall so great, and it ends up being much less immediate, real and frightening than its predecessor.
