Gameplay becomes pretty repetative and boring after a short while, which is why I feel no urge to try and finish the game. Story is basically a little back and forth between narator and player aka Dandy Ace, no backstory other than the intro before the game even starts. Visuals are actually what got me to try the game in the first place, but them too after a while become rather repetative.Gameplay becomes pretty repetative and boring after a short while, which is why I feel no urge to try and finish the game. storyline is mediocre at best, and gameplay just doesn't hold up in a world where Hades exists. I tried to give it a chance (4 hours of gameplay) but all it ended up doing was make me long for another hades run. Fans of the genre will most likely enjoy it to an extent, but gameplay was too repetitive for me to continue

Dandy Ace is a fun, vibrant roguelike with its own distinctive personality and a cool combat system. [06/2021, p.65]

I enjoy roguelikes in general and I did enjoy the card-combining mechanics overall, but it feels a bit like the window for Dandy Ace‘s success has now closed.

Overall, I like Dandy Ace a fair bit, but the story doesn't do quite enough to drive you to do more runs, and there were a few times when things felt grossly unfair due to the sheer volume of enemies that some rooms spit at you. The card combination system is wonderful to use though, and that'll keep mechanically-minded players involved for a fair while with Dandy Ace.
