The truth is that this game isn't COD it's more like a playable film and I personally loved the options and choices and getting to know the characters. I also found the gunplay extremely addicting, similar to borderlands, and finding that gun that scratches your personal itch, there's truly nothing like it. I encountered very few bugs except sometimes a visual glitch would occur. However, this being said, it didn't take away my enjoyment of the game. I hope that CDPR keeps updating the game and removing bugs and I think its highly likely. Expand

I would honestly give this game a solid 7 for the number of bugs it has at the start. But looking at people who are giving it 0, 1, 2, 3 or even 4 seems so ridiculous that I will just give it a 10 to level it a bit.

It is a very good title which got me interested and amazed by some details and ideas. It does look like they needed another year to make it an even better experience, but it is still definitely worth getting and playing. The bugs will most likely be dealt with soon. If it is not going to be improved then I will change my score to 7.

The main problem for the 6.6 scores is, that we have a very demanding society that doesn't understand that if you will hype yourself too much it is not the game's fault to disappoint. Some people gave silly arguments and too low scores.

    Minuses:
    - I don't like driving the car experience.
    - Encountered a few bugs which made me miss some content.
    - It doesn't encourage much to submerge into side quests and city life yet. But again, most games do not.
    - It would be nice to be introduced slowly into the game system and details.

    Pluses:
    - Conversations and characters are pretty good.
    - Graphics will be a new benchmark
    - It is nice to see something a bit different in the AAA type of game, especially the RPG one.
    - Storyline seems to be very attractive.
    - Overall experience (even tho its a bit glitchy - for 4 hours of play on my PC I was annoyed only once)

    So-so'es:
    - I had a bit bigger expectations of pubs, music could be louder so you could actually feel like you are in the pub or disco. :D

Not a huge deal to me personally because I know they will iron them out eventually, but I understand how people feel let down. It's buggy, it's far from perfect - but it's nonetheless a great game and a great experience.

CD Projekt Red seem to keep their promise - with patch 1.2 a great number of issues have been fixed, but there ist still plenty of work left. But if you have the hardware for it - and if you didn't buy into the hype expecting a Grand Theft Redemption: Night City - I can fully recommend the game

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I play it on older version of ps4, downloaded it on preorder time and have more then 24h of playtime so it's not surprising that my graphics of game is bad - visuals are not impressive at all (found other games that was released this year much appealing for me, game screen looks blurred and muddy. But I can't took that for negative because I do have old ps4 and I'm happy that i can play it. So let's start with exploration - open world is often fantastic, choice seams to be endless, sometimes I get lost in choices and side quest that hour later i forget what i actually wanted to do. I didn't find any bugs or glitch there.
But negative side is that I found city quite empty, there are few npc wondering in streets and even less cars so I was quite disappointed in that aspect of game. I don't see reflection of me but customise of your body is terminala (you are stuck with same hair, tattoos and similar thing's) but clothes are brilliant. I just scratch main mission but earning money is quite hard and realistic.
I have 5 blue screens and crashes of game, some bug's of levitation objects and missing objects in story missions and when I kill someone gravity is ridiculously bad. Was it worth of wait for ps4 players NO, did I expect more YES, BUT Ilove characteristics and reality of game that I don't mind first person gameplay ...

So few weapons and generally ways to approach combat, pacifist playstyle is just shoe-horned in via mods that magically turns your weapons non-lethal and very few react to you playing pacifist (unlike even the oldest of Deus Ex games).

No, it's not just unpolished, it's unfinished. Game breaking bugs and glitches, almost unplayable on some last gen consoles, overall a technical mess. It adds insult to injury by not delivering on many things they promoted over months, even years. Extremely limited options for character creation, extremely limited romance options (you have the option between having a romance and not having one since there is only one romance for each gender/sexuality combo) etc etc. My main point is: it doesn't matter if people are still having fun with it personally, it doesn't matter that I still kinda like the game. What matters is, that it is an unfinished product, sold at full price. An early access advertised as a full experience. A product that doesn't deliver on what it advertised. A product that was rushed to get it out before Christmas . A product that was produced with crunch and putting extreme pressure on its devs. A product that is just like all AAA titles a cash grabbing, unfinished mess. And we gobble that stuff up. We buy it, we praise it, we defend it. CDPR is praised for being a game company "that listens". But even if they listen now, they will only patch up the game a few months down the road. This is an early access title with major issues, advertised as a full and finished game. And I'm sick of "AAA" companies getting away with this. They wanted to push this game out into sale before Christmas and to profit off of the quarantine boredom of the pandemic. This game would have needed months if not one or two years more to actually be what it was hyped up to be. But I don't even need a "hype" version of the game, just a finished and actually working version of the game would be nice enough.

Witcher 3 was amazing game (for me best game till this masterpiece came out) but Cyberpunk 2077 is... oh boy.... something else. Definetely the most immersive, biggest, most enjoyable RPG experience so far in gaming industry.

Story is catching, well writen, heartbreaking, You instantly have deep connection with characters. Graphics quality is jaw-dropping. I simply can't believe my own eyes when I'm roaming streets of Night City.

The choice possibilty in questlines is staggering. Sometimes I wish I could play 3 playthroughs at once just to experience multiple outcomes of my every decision. It's mind boggling how just after decision is made story hints how action would have changed if Your decision have been different. Hard to explain this feeling because it's first time game does something like this to me.
The multiple possibiliy of solving quest is remarkable same as multiple ways of developing Your character. You can use brute force and kill everyone opponet with bare hands or with white weapons or You can max Your guns and rain Your opponents with bullets of every kind, or You can hack devices to works against enemys or You can simply move quielty beetwen them without even touching them or simply taking down them gently and quietly.

Driving is very fine better than I expected, shooting is also very good. There are minor glitches or bugs but so far I haven't experienced any major or game breaking bugs. Sometimes I feel like AI could be better or more chalenging and movement of NPC could get more fine tunning. Other than that I can't say bad word about this game. If I remember corectly (it was over 5 years ago) Witcher 3 had same problems at lunch and in the end became one of greatest if not the greates RPG ever created.

As for technical performance it works like a charm for me. My PC setup is GeForce GTX 1070 TI, AMD Ryzen 2700X, 16GB 3200 15CL, SSD ADATA SU800. I play on Ultra settings with medium or low shadows and without DLLS and Ray Tracing for obvious reasons. I have over 60 FPS on 1920x1080 with newest GPU drivers.

I believe If You have same as me or better PC setup You should forget all of those negative reviews this game is a must for RPG fan.

It's not GTA or Call of Duty or Deus Ex and thank god it's not. It's something else, something better, like a movie where You decide how action will go. It is a long game. It took me over 12 hours just to finish prologue. I expect to play as long as I did with Witcher 3. So over 200 hours at least with one playthrough and those will be multiple.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the few games I stopped and said "wow" out loud multiple times. Maxing out graphics settings and pumping raytracing up to psycho settings within my downtime in the game to just take in the views. Of course during more intense scenes this was a no go with my above average pc struggling to handle everything.

It's not perfect. There are numerous glitches. CDPR has proved over their history thus far that this game will continue to be supported, and I believe it will be adjusted and performance will improve shortly. But this is possibly the most interesting RPG released since the Witcher, despite its faults.

This game would never have lived up to the hype some people set up for it in their own minds. Viewed through a realistic point of view, the game is great.

I want to say off the bat this is one of my favorite games in a while by far and without a doubt my favorite single player game. The game runs fine on my computer (2070 Super, i7 7700k, and 32 gb of ram.) I've put roughly 30 hours into the game and have completed the story, I will however go back and try to achieve more endings and likely 2 or 3 more playthroughs of the game. Still feels I've barely scratched the surface with all the side missions and whatnot.

There were bugs in the game but I've accepted that most any game that releases nowadays will have bugs in them, minor or big. Most bugs I've encountered were purely visual. And some of the bugs can be quite amusing and added to my enjoyment of the game, like when I meant to call a car, accidentally called my bike, called my car immediately and saw the marker for the bike go flying into the air. A couples times I had to quick save then load that save because a mission wouldn't pop up but it did not bother me.

I really did like the story and there were quite a few somber moments. I have only gotten one ending myself and it was very bitter sweet and felt like a good ending for the V I had created.

The combat in the game is really fun too. The guns feel smooth yet powerful. One part of the game I did not expect myself to fall in love with is the stealth. The stealth is extremely fun and I despise stealth 9 times out of 10. I love the way you can perform double kills with a quick hack and a bullet to the other enemy's head.

The side missions / quests are also pretty fun. None of them fall into the repetitive feeling many side missions in other games do. A lot of the time they are "fetch" quests, go here, kill this person or collect this item, but they feel unique.

I love this game so far and think it is great. You can also pet a cat which I've never seen another open world game let you do so 10/10 would pet again.

My issue isn't about graphics, it isn't about the story or side quests, which those matter very little to me... it's about being able to boot up the game to escape and live in its world because it was promised to us as a believable open world rpg. What games do we have as open-world, commit crimes, impress others while pissing off the rest, obtaining cars, obtain loot (guns, tech or whatnot), doing missions, minigames, a living believable world with dynamic NPC who live their lives without demonstrating repetition, people to stop you from causing too much havoc, and money to make + uniqueness.

We have many, let me just name a few that do well in the majority of these aspects that still make it an open world. let's forget about RPG. Just cause, saints row, gta, watch dogs, and sleeping dogs.

CDPR claimed that Cyberpunk 2077 surpasses, just google it, any open-world game to date, and its also RPG. Meaning, they are claiming when this game gets released it is better than GTA 5 or red dead redemption 2. On top of that while it is so much better than these games it also has the best RPG elements as its core feature.

Please I beg you to go read many reviews, from 10 to 0's, some may sound absurd but the more you read the more you realize some of that absurdity has its merits. There is no way that when you play this game, play in its world, try to interact with it all and everything it has to offer - it definitely does not surpass any open-world game that has been since the last decade.

Too many bugs, glitches, lack of proper AI systems (there are a few), hardly anything to do while not doing missions...

My top 3 things that killed this game for me:

no proper open-world police system: Best example of how flawed this system is, you can be alone with one npc in an alley, no one else around and you know 110% because you have checked thrice. You shoot the NPC on the leg, this means you have just committed a crime and the police are called on you immediately. That sounds fine, open world, great, let's get ready for a police encounter that has tension, build up and increasing challenge. What happens is as soon as the police warning sounds they spawn on you (i am literally saying within 2 seconds of the sound), behind you 3 feet away in pairs or more. Out of thin air. Already aiming at you and letting everything out of their magazine at you. You may see another police magically spawn right next to the one you are shooting at. They just keep spawning until you are dead or you run/hide. There is no aircar that brings them, they can not drive cars, they do not chase you if you run away or drive away. You can get out of a police warrant if you are at least 20 meters away from them. They are programmed (it becomes clear when you test this out) to spawn behind you in an open area no matter how small. You can be on a balcony and they will spawn on that balcony with you. You can take 2 steps out of an elevator, shoot a civilian, and cops will immediately spawn in the open elevator you just walked out of. this is not 10/10 material for an open-world game with the police.

no open-world NPC AI system: Ai DO NOT have dynamic lives as CDPR promised, They do not respond to their environment dynamically. I need you to look at videos on youtube demonstrating this, it's actually too comical and sad.

no open-world AI for drivers.: The most that has ever been demonstrated of AI drivers is they may react to you shooting their car (by running out of it, not drive away), they will not react to you if you try to open the driver's door - they sit - scream and not even try to fight back or drive away. You can pull an NPC out of their car, walk back and the NPC will just remain ducking beside their car or eventually disappear in thin air. This is how it is programmed, it has been tested, youtube it. They do drive on a pre-determined path. Will not move around you if you block their way. will disappear or change colors/model when you keep turning 180deg, there is a video on youtube, again it clearly shows this. This is not 10/10 programming so this is not a 10/10 feature.

5/10 because the story was great - it kept me going, but with the lack of NPC AI/ driver AI and a proper police system + many MANY more, I stopped playing and so I can not give it the other 3 or 5! We were promised an open world RPG that surpasses any open-world game that has ever been created. No, a most definite no.

The story is perfect, the replayability is perfect (im on second replay with a mod menu), gameplay could use some new weapons and is a bit stiff, city is amazing only gripe is those god damn NPC ragdolls (they are so flimsy and die easily please fix the NPCs), and finally the performance on my i7 CPU with a GPU of AMD RX XFX 5700 XT with high textures, mostly medium settings (with some high and some low), 1440p Resolution, and with Dynamic FidelityFX CAS at MIN 90 MAX 100, I get an average of 55 - 70 fps. On my first play through I had the same settings but on high settings WITHOUT Dynamic FidelityFX CAS and I STILL got an avg of 40-55fps. The bugs are noticeable but the only ones that seems to stick out in the mainstream are the scene where a main character dies in a car and they have nothing in their hand when they are supposed to be giving you something and the other one is a lady after a side quest ends (the one where u and her go to the docks) stands in place and starts a walking animation but then it cuts half way through and it does this over and over. Also it has multiple endings depending on the certain side quests you do. I got an ending that imo, is the best but I want to play again and definitely try to get another one. Overall, after some free DLC and bug fixes within the next 6 months it is easily a 10/10 and on the same level of a game as RDR2 but for now because the DLC and bug fixes are not out it is a 9/10 for me. Cant wait for the multiplayer and really hyped to see how that goes down. One final thing, because of the endings I have seen online and the one I got I am more than intrigued to see how a DLC adds extra content. Also FINALLL thing, there are mod menus and mods so dont worry about the game dying. This game will last the same how RDR2 lasted and RDR2 is still lasting as a amazing game so they already said they will turn cyberpunk into a franchise so I am hyped for CDPR's next moves and I hope you get this game. The amount of reviews that gave this 10/10 with the review being "BEST GAME EVAAAH" and no real explanation is too high for this dumpster fire, which makes me think CDPR is just getting phantom accounts to boost their score.

    Pros:
    - Huge, beautiful city with a lot of detail
    - Cool story (please be aware creator made this in the 80s so might be a little too 80s for some people)

    Cons:

    - No AI: most NPCs are scripted and repeat the same damn thing over and over without reacting to anything, they have one or two lines if prompted to talk and if you punch anyone on the street the entire street will start running and huddling in fear even though this is some worst city to live in the dystopian future.
    - No driving AI: NPCs are scripted to go from A to B, if you set an obstacle in front of them they wait forever, they won't try to go around you, and if you point a gun at them they don't react at all, this is why there are no car chases except the main story scripted ones.
    - No police AI: As soon as you commit a crime, cops spawn behind you even if you're in a closed room and just kill you, if you lose line of sight they despawn just like that, if you get in a car they can't drive since no driving AI so they just despawn.
    - Non interactable world: You enter a room, there's an arcade, a place to sit, drinks, etc. but you can only interact with the door - you can't eat, drink, sit down, play minigames, pick up objects - it's all dead weight and shallow detail
    - Physics: While a shotgun can knockback NPC's and they flinch when shot, enemies are bullet sponges and there is 0 detail on them when they get shot, they all look brand new even if you empty 2 mags in them. After they die, they fall down in weird stiff positions, usually with their legs up in the air.
    - Driving: cars feel like they weigh as your average shopping cart, swerving as if they're made of plastic and steering and handling is horrible.
    - Gunplay: decent for an RPG, nothing innovative and sometimes clunky. Melee is horrible, with a few stiff animations and no real weight, think of Fallout melee if not worse.
    - Customization: After creating your character with mediocre options (a low amount of presets, nothing new or not seen), you can't really customize or even see your character. There are no cutscenes so you can't even see yourself unless you get to a mirror, at which you have to press a button to see yourself. No clothing shops, no tattoo parlors, not even a barber for this "stylish" future. You can't customize vehicles either, and can only buy preset cars during missions.
-Story NPCs: Are just that, story NPCs. Other than you starting and interacting with them in a mission, they can't be companions or interactable otherwise. Most NPC's that give you quests do it over the phone, so you don't even see most NPCs or interact with them at all. Very shallow and underwhelming.
-UI: Convoluted UI that breaks immersion way too often, all the enemies are highlighted in red, and all the items you can interact with are highlighted in a filter as well, inventory is a mess.
-Crafting: Convoluted and utterly useless and pointless.
-Clothing: All the clothing is gated with stats, which means if you're playing higher difficulty you will look like a complete doofus in order to have good stats. Want to look good? You're probably going to die a lot, but since you can't even see yourself, it doesn't really matter.
-Side quests: Very repetitive, think GTA cop missions etc. You get calls from these story tellers that you won't even interact with, only to do menial tasks that get boring real quick.
-Life paths: Picking a life path is only important for the first three hours, after that you become a street rat/merc and have a few dialogue options down the line that slightly change information you receive but that's it.
-Dialogue options: It's Fallout 4 all over again in 90% of the cases. Your options are "Yes", "Yes, but I don't like it", "Yes, but tell me more" and "No." Very basic and linear.

All in all, Cyberpunk2077 is a beautiful, yet extremely shallow and disappointing world. It's like if you dug out a zombie out of the grave only to give it a boob job and assjob and put on some make up on it. There's a lot of detail but minimal interaction, the AI of Cyberpunk NPC's makes Skyrim NPC's feel like elaborate individuals with complex personalities and motives, and the gameplay is just below average compared to any other RPG that did these mechanics better. And this is all without mentioning the poor optimization and bugs. Overhyped mess that feels like a quick cash grab, would not recommend.

An absolute next generation game with stunning graphics and an interesting storyline. The hopes were justified. Few bugs at the start, but that's not a problem.

The 4 hours i did play was so buggy that it really made it hard to enjoy the game. But then the game made the decision for me to stop playing altogether when it stopped working due to a stoppage in game progression bug. So now i cant interact with anyone. Including the main story.

Night city? yeah because it puts you to sleep, it feels completely dead, pedestrians are more basic than GTA San Andrea's

Side missions are filled with bugs that prevent from being completed or make them look stupid

There are tips in the game that hint towards you having several hideouts/bases/apartments, its a lie.

Combat feels lackluster, very basic. Hacking although cool its not effective at all , you need to spend lots of eddies to really use it in combat.

Ai is trash, complete trash but the devs decided to give them ridiculous dificulty scaling in order to prevent the player just winning every mission in seconds, high level enemies are just bullet sponges that one shot you.

Performance leaves a lot to be desired even on the "recommended" gpu it runs like crap. And it doesnt even look that good on max graphics either (without ray tracing).

Annoying UI not practical at all, it is really a pain to navigate through the messages and journal entries , the map is overwhelming and not clear when it comes to the verticality of the map.

And now with the good stuff

The main story is really good the characters are amazing although keanu's voice acting leaves a lot to be desired.

The cars are REALLY cool, the sound is amazing (although difficult to drive due to the garbage minimap and bad controls on mb+k)

The ambience of the different regions of the map is really good although the zombie pedestrians kinda ruin it for me.

    Conclusion:
It feels like the n th iteration of this game after scrapping several others either because of technical or monetary constraints with lots and lots of cut content, either way it seems that cdpr bit more than they could chew.

Alright, so let's put aside the optimization issues and the fact the game runs garbage on the recommended specs while some other games with much more impressive graphics can be run on Ultra with a steady 60 fps. The gajillions of bugs that can be many times game breaking can also be fixed. But the emptiness of the world, the lack of interaction with the environment and NPC's made me feel like I was once again wondering around the maps of SW KOTOR which is a 2003 game. Animations are clunky and if you watch an NPC for more than 5 seconds you realise its nothing more than a poorly designed background element. Also as this is an RPG I was expecting to at least have good character customization, side activities, exploration, etc. I get nothing. Yeah it's an open world but doesn't feel like one, it's open world as long as you only do the things dev wants you to do. The level design is poor and won't really allow you to solve them in various different ways. The conversation options don't offer diversity, your character will always sound like an **** regardless of your choice. I don't understand why people are giving this game good reviews, do they feel they have to suck up to CDPR because Witcher 3 was awesome (which it was) or what? This clearly needed more time to develop and people shouldn't accept to pay full price for an unfinished empty product. I have refunded the game. Expand

The game didn't release in a perfect state, even after these delays there are quite some bugs and performance could be improved, and that is the only reason i don't give it a 10. I see a lot of people here giving it bad reviews cause they think the world or story is blank, and i simply can't believe those people even played the game. There is a lot to do in the world, ofcourse there are certain repetitive activities like in any open world game, but a lot of the small activities are actually unique and very nice, the characters are so nicely written and have strong emotional connections to you, I remember when i first finished the Witcher 3 i couldn't sleep cause i was so sad to have finished it and i started another playthrough, this is exactly the same thing. If you liked the witcher 3 (mainly story and characters) you will like this too. Now ofcourse the gameplay mechanics are different, but tbh i was positively surprised by a lot of the mechanics, combat is pretty fun, also the shooting, driving isn't nearly as bad as people say, sure it could be worked on a bit but remember this is a story you play, the mechanics are a way to progress the story, things like driving aren't gonna be the same as in racing simulators. I see a lot of people comparing this to gta, saying this is worse. Well, that is exactly the problem isn't it, a lot of people went into this game thinking it was a gta clone, And it is so much more then that. Performance on previous gen consoles is crappy yes, they could work on that, but don't let people fool you, the main reason is cause this game is truly next gen, when next gen video cards start coming out this is gonna be a true wonder. I play on pc on rtx 2070 super and i have constant 60 fps on medium graphics and ray tracing, and the quality on medium is comparable to ultra on a game like lets say rdr2. So i anxiously await the dlc and expansions and patches and this game will be even more incredible. Expand

So far I'm really impressed. It looks amazing, it's stable, the story so far is absolutely unique.. It runs like a pig on a 3080 at 4k, but it's a next gen title.. I'd give it a few decimal points off for some visual glitches and that there's no character reflections.. Why give us such a large scope to customise our character if we can basically never see them?

Max 5. Why? Cause i play games since i was kid. For now i could compare this world to Postal 2 mixed with skyrim. City is completely soulless. People are just roaming on streets. There is no heart in this city. A lot of bugs like hole in wall so I can see textures through. FIST FIGHT IS A JOKE - who has chance to play know what I'm saying. I'm disappointed

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
