Writing this review makes me truly sad, I was actually excited to write a wonderful review to incite people to buy this game, but sadly, this won't be the case... Even having lower standards for Cyberpunk, this would till be a low rating review. After their wonderful series with The Witcher, CDP have fallen through.

Now here goes for the game review. To give more context when I'll complain about the smoothness of the game: I have a high end gaming PC with a 3080 and i9 9900k and finished the playthrough.

The gameplay is clunky, not smooth at all. Using melee in this game is so hard due to the weird motion blur and the movements being gawky. Fist fighting is unfun as the NPCs basically teleports themselves when they swing a punch.

Bugs, bugs and bugs. The game is so buggy, it feels like it's in alpha stage. The AI is also very "stupid".

The story falls very flat, the main story isn't too bad, the side quests feels useless and without context, unlike in Witcher 3 where the side quests we're basically other stories of their own.

Anyways, I could keep going but this is basically it. The game is awful, I'm giving a 1 just because the game is really beautiful. Can't deny that.

But RED Engine 3 works perfect with maximum settings even on poor pc unlike RED Engine 4 which needs high-end pc, with gpu with support ray tracing for better game's graphics, expensive NVMe SSD, and at least 16 gb ram. In other words to play The Witcher 3 with maximum/high settings $200-300 pc quite enough. But for cyberpunk with maximum/high settings needs $2000 - $3000 pc [Here should be smiling greedy f* face of jensen huang]. And cyberpunk looks slightly better than GTA 5 in the sense of graphics. But in all the rest comparisons cyberpunk completely loses the GTA 5. Although with such system requirements graphics of cyberpunk should look like demo of The Matrix Awakens but no.

    T-posing NPCs and cutscenes,
Characters mouths not moving in dialogue,
Textures not loading on NPCs, causing invisible legs (The very first NPC I encountered on the bar stool as a streetkid had this after trying it again. I knew this was still lame from the get go)

The police system "fix" is still laughable, where when you commit a "crime" a drone spawns in off screen roughly 50m away to spot you and you're instantly "wanted". Every now and then a police officer or 2 just spawns in, and only if you stand still like a pleb would you ever get caught/overwhelmed.

But even if this game was technically perfect with no bugs, the mechanics themselves still functionally fall flat from it's very core, the combat.
The Cyberpunk roleplay game Frank made in the day had some real effort into balistics. What caliber fired from what gun was extremely vital, with body armour properties also having a very real effect on absorbing and blocking those rounds.

In this game theres no attempt at simulation like this, it's binary and boring as hell. They basically ripped off the Destiny/looter shooter style where what gun you're using is useless. Only the flat stat attached to it.
So If you run into a militech rifle at level 10 (shockingly early and easy to accomplish), it's damage will become irrelevant by the time you hit level 15 and pick up some janky crap everyday street revolver. Because it's all based on the flat "DPS" stat. And that stat is tied to your level in the game.
Basically level scaling every item in the game.
This creates a crap sense of immersion when good weapons you bought get outclassed by bad ones you can just pick up off common gangsters when you "out level" it. The fact they advertised this as an RPG, based off a tabletop RPG, then changed it to "action adventure" (to get around how little role playing there is and how call of duty-ised they made it) at the last minute is nothing but fraud in my eyes.

However, it's not that the game 'didn't live up to the hype', the game was released in an absolutely broken state. In my personal experience, the game was getting FPS in the 30s-40s on medium settings. I have a GTX 1060 and that has been the recommended card for almost a year. It was only a few weeks ago that they added *to reach 30FPS. In adjusting the settings further, I was able to reach 60FPS but then the game looked absolutely horrible. I feel this is unacceptable with the recommended GPU. Once I got the game working, however, it crashed on me three times. One of these pauses occurred while I was in the pause menu.

After looking online and seeing that even if I had the latest and greatest set up, the game would look nice but would still have several game breaking bugs. Quests not progressing, Dialog not playing, NPCs in T-Pose... I feel the game was not ready to release.

About the NPCs: I have seen many, many videos of game footage and NPCs seem pretty dead. They don't have routines. They just walk down the street and they might have one or two lines to say. The city is filled with food vendors, but you can only interact with maybe two of them. CDPR promised a "living, breathing city" and this is not the case. NPCs also all react to gunfire the same way; you can have 15 NPCs cowering all at once, no variation.

But the worst thing of all is that CDPR didn't allow critics to review PS4 copies, and now we know why: the game simply can not run on the PS4. The FPS hits 15 in many areas, textures don't load, and the PS4 is prone to crashing. Say what you want about running the game on "old hardware", but the bottom line is if the company couldn't get the game to run properly on the PS4, it should not have been released on the PS4. They knew it would be a bad experience so they attempted to cover it up.

Can the game be fixed? Sure, it can be optimized with patches, as can the quest bugs be fixed. Can they do more mo-cap and give the NPCs more life? Probably. But my faith in CDPR is almost all gone after this horrendous launch. "We'll release it when it's ready" proved to be false.

Awful. Nevermind bugs and technical issues, it's just a bad game. It's almost all dialogues and cutscenes, and when you actually get to do something, it's terrible. Gunplay and driving is awful, RPG elements and character development are lackluster. It's a bad game, no amount of bugfixing and optimization will make it any more fun to play.

These are the requirements that CDPR posted themselves. Yet you will have CDPR defenders say it's just old. Well CDPR says different. The game should be able to run. Honestly the graphics are nothing special.

Now on to my issues. I had 16gb ram, SSD with loads of space with the 70gb install RX590. ryzen 5 2600. I ran many tests before the game like "can my pc run this game test website" and it checked out. The game no matter the resolution, no matter if ultra or low would not change from the 19fps. Deeper dive showed that it wasn't even using my GPU. And when it did that's when I got a stable frame rate. The game is horribly unoptimized and I cannot recommend that anyone buys it in current state. Now I am well aware that some people somehow managed to get lucky and have it run fine with worse hardware. But I only have their word on steam for that. I mean even in the tutorial a sectioned of part of the game from the rest of the world I got 11fps. In target practice. It's a joke.

My advice wait until next year to play the game. As it is unplayable.

CDPR had a reputation of being an honest game maker and I'm really a big fan of RPGs and open world games like the witcher 3 and fallout 4. I poured probably about 200 hours total into the witcher 3, playing the whole base game and both DLCs. I figured cyberpunk would be at least decent.

So I get Cyberpunk on steam for PC, boot it up and start playing. I figured out within about the first hour or so of gameplay that life paths don't really play that big of a part in the game, leading up to launch, CDPR said it would be a part of the game but it wasn't.

Besides that, the story is decent but I think they made it too short for an RPG game. Red dead 2, gta 5 aren't even RPGs and they have a longer storyline, fallout 4 has a ton of side quests and the fact you can choose different factions to have different endings. Cyberpunk has no such system. The story feels rushed.

Now for my problems with the game mechanics, CDPR said they would release cp 2077 when it was ready and the game mechanics don't look like those of a game that is ready in 2020. Besides all of the bugs, which I am willing to forgive since all games have bugs and they can get patched, the game mechanics are a major letdown.

GTA 5, a game released 7 years ago has better game mechanics. The driving system is clunky and unrealistic, NPCs look like zombies that barely even react to you, in GTA 5 a npc can either fight you or run away but NPCs in cyberpunk just run away. In GTA 5, if you shoot water, you see a splash but in cyberpunk there is no splash. In GTA 5 if you throw a grenade in the water, it makes a boom sound and you see water ripples but not in cyberpunk. The wanted system is a disaster, the cops just spawn on foot and don't chase you in cars.

This was not the game that was promised to us, and I have the pc version. Console players have it much much worse.

A física é próxima a zero.

Cyberpunk 2077 - the biggest let-down I've ever experienced. I finished the main story, and by the end I didn't feel like I've actually played the game. The city is huge, and I didn't get to explore any of it. It didn't lead my to any of those places, and the factions that are apparently in the city, doesn't have that many side-jobs. Doesn't lead you anywhere. I can't actually think of one good aspect of the game. What an absolute piece of garbage. I was very disappointed, and I went into the game with ZERO expectations. Go figure how big the pile of garbage has to be. Trash. Expand

    thank god to refunds!

Game is the worst example of shooting gameplay and mechanics...missing bullets, flying everywhere while even the simplest mob absorbs ton of damages.
If u want to do an RPG, leave out shooting mechanics!

Plus glithces and bugs...at least bake it until cooked, is the damnd bare minimum since they are asking full price !!

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
