    I'm going to preface this by saying this is an online only game. You can play offline with bots but if you buy the game you are buying it for multiplayer, more specifically competitive. At first it is impossibly hard as you are playing against people who are experienced mostly. Once you start getting kills you will feel elated. I got to nova rank and then they updated the matchmaking. Winning a game suddenly deranked you. I've put over 300 hrs into the game. And the grief outweighs any rush you will ever experience playing the game. All of this I can still handle because if you find a team of players, its exponentially better. The reason I'm giving this game the abysmal review that it doesn't deserve is because of the community. This game is incredibly easy to hack. In fact, as of late, the hacking has become of epidemic proportions. I cant go more than 2 matches without encountering someone using wall hacks. Aim bots are turned on occasionally, but the real problem is the wall hacks. If someone is preaiming and you are in an unknown position and they get a first shot headshot through the corner of a wall, they are hacking. Reporting does nothing. I've seen no reaction from Valve. They are silent on the issue. The sad thing about this is the game, in its own right, is addictive fun. But Valve is taking a vow of silence on this, never once directly addressing the community on this issue. If you play this game already, start hacking because everyone else is or inevitably will through frustration. If you are on a mac, you're screwed. The nail in the coffin is, again, the community. THIS IS NOT AN EXAGGERATION! Every single match has someone with an offensive expletive in their name and at least two players begin spamming the voice and text chat with abusive commentary. Homophobia, sexism, textbook misogynists, racism, elitism, even abusing people on disability is commonplace. Final verdict: the game mechanics are fun It is traumatic to play… Expand

    With the competitive matchmaking system not working for me I found the game to be very boring.
    Good thing I tried it on the free to play weekend so I did not pay any money for it.

    Отвратительная игра, графика уровня игр 2006 года, покупка текстур, геймплей никак не изменился за 18 лет. Переоцененный кусок мусора, пожалел о потраченных деньгах. С Battlefield никогда не сравнится.

For the sake of cheerfulness I can kick you, and you are given a ban for it, at least 24 hours (24 hours, not 4, not 8, not 16, but 24), saying "you are often excluded".

    Physics is disgusting, when throwing a grenade in motion, it can fly ANYWHERE, but not where you throw it. The spread of weapons is HUGE, even on accurate trunks! You can release 20 cartridges (for example from M16) to the enemy, get 5, one of them to the head and not kill the enemy (which is strange)! But he is shooting with AK (the machine that is the most oblique, both in real life and in the game) will hit you in the head and kill from the first hit, although it can be seen on the repetition that he holds it ABOVE my head from slopes to the side at half a meter.

    There are a lot of curved maps that give an advantage to either special forces or terrorists. The cost of the same in the characteristics of weapons are different.     Bad graphics, community, developers, some slavs screaming in a voice chat, good cheaters. :) The worst game out there tbh. Maybe it requires skill but it's unplayable and not fun.

    Don't buy this game if your a CS veteran player. the *aiming* in this game is horrible for a FPS !
    The whole game feels badly made and the CS feeling is totally gone !

    If you wish to play CS go play CS Source. !

    Do not buy this game, sooner or later you will be frustrated, because of the huge amount of cheaters and kickers, VAC fails miserably once again, by the way, the cheaters keep calling you "noob".

    And the so called "overwatchers" do almost nothing, they keep ignoring wallhackers.

The game is full of hackers but what really pissed me off was that the guns were totally unbalanced. I was getting killed faster by a crap pistol then an LMG in Close Quarters. Also, the game only registered about a third of the bullets i would shoot. Just my opinionTo be totally honest, i thought this game would be amazing but, after spending a few hours playing, my mind quickly changed.     I found this game very lack lustre, I just felt like it was missing something, maybe some kind of other game mode. In general I got bored of this game quite quickly and found the gameplay a bit too out dated

    Great game yet very boring after it gets old.

    Unlike Moba games, shooting games are just shooting nothing else until community servers and modes came but however none of them are fun but are entertaining to try. What I was expecting to play were Zombie mode, Those skate things, free hosting servers and no battle camping royale but not all of them are there.     What I dislike about this game are

    -Their server's giving laggers an advantage who are hard to shoot because of their lag

    -Battle Royale mode which I need a lot of Explosives to make those campers stop camping in the building and get out so I can kill them or they'll blow up into pieces which I still killed them.

    -Cheaters in casual which doesn't blind the players who are already killed and is spectating the game keeps chatting or voice chatting or screen sharing their spectate.

    -Hackers who does aimbots, wall hacks and other hacks that improves their gameplay with no skill involved. I THOUGHT STEAM FIXED THAT WITH THEIR MONEY?!

    This game failed, play a different game. That's why it's free to play I hope they're done milking the battle royale mode so they'll start milking the zombie mode except there are copy righted music in the zombie mode that's why they never milked it.    … Expand

    This is by far, the most cheater-friendly game ever made! Valve don't even trying to get rid of cheaters here, their VAC is a joke. I wouldn't being surprised if Valve itself provides these cheaters source code to help em make more soft.

    Don't touch this over-hyped pile of BS...

    i personally dont like this game as i feel the skill ceiling is too high and im not a fan of the hipfiring mechanic

    i do like how you can swap weapons with q tho

    id say try it out and if you like it good for you but its personally not for me

    And the most disgusting part of the whole is when people compliment each other like "nice (head)shot", "nice kill" and the eSport fans just yell and acclaim while watching others killing each other in full trance and euphoria. This is not game anymore, people just can't see it.

    CSGO is a great game that has been around for over 6 years now and is still being updated with new content, I am very grateful for that! Unfortunately I am not satisfied with Valve's recent move to make CSGO free to play, and to add Battle-royal game mode (Danger Zone) to the game. It would have been better to add a separate version of Counter-Strike: Danger Zone to the Steam Store and toCSGO is a great game that has been around for over 6 years now and is still being updated with new content, I am very grateful for that! Unfortunately I am not satisfied with Valve's recent move to make CSGO free to play, and to add Battle-royal game mode (Danger Zone) to the game.     If you are going to sell the game, at least stop with the microtransactions, will you? Besides that, gameplay is solid, not much improvments since last Counter Strike. It's low score is mostly because of the microtransactions.

    I think Valve tried to bring the best from CS:S and CS:1.6, and also small tweaks from COD and BF (like skins, ingame menus and stats-tab). Why is this bad? Well, because if you think of it from a product positioning perspective - you both want to keep "stickiness" and also be different from COD, BF, Arma, Quake, Sleeping Dogs, etc.
    - The strengths and passion of Counter-Strike 1.6 was the simpleness.
    - You could needed to focus on a small amount of things at the same time (equivalent to mental-average memory capacity of players).
    - No "levels" (BF/COD) is needed, hit play - and play!

    How does it relate to CS:GO, other competing games and also CS:1.6?
    - Other games' strengths aren't a head-2-head sport-game like CS. The maps are bigger, the multitasking is different, the amount of players are higher, no vehicles in CS (etc).

    You see, and agree about simplicity? CS is all about it! Not flying airplanes or driving a tank. Good that we've got it down. Then you also understand that with less features - each feature becomes really important.

    So when Valve's story writers decide to decrease the mag of the "CS:1.6 game community's" favourite weapon and at the same time "delete" your 9 years old gun control-skills from CS:1.6:

    1. Does it make people happy? No, not really.
    2. Does it make the game better for the average players? No! Not really.
    3. Will it make people buy a 4th failed game in the series (Failed: CS:CZ, CS:S. CS:GO)? Absolutely not.

    Then we all read online about this being the world's most played game currently, using that as a benchmark for that Valve actually took the right decisions. Think again, if you have ever played with data in Cognos, Qlik, Excel -whatever- you realize that there are always more dimensions to the data.
    - You are actually comparing the time of 1.6 when the world barey had internet or a dual-core CPU!!! What Valve SHOULD BE THINKING IS: "We realize that we lost (=revenue) to COD, BF, WOW, LOL, etc. Now we have X things to accomplish so we can GeT_RiGht! again."

    What is actually missing from creating history again with the series is:
    1. Exact damage as CS:1.6 (CS:GO is all about headshots).
    2. Exact same gun control as CS:1.6.
    3. Exact same hitboxes as CS:1.6 - CS:GO is weird and more random (harder to learn for skilled/frequent players).
    4. Choice of keeping simple UI-format (pre-game+in game menus+tab+CROSSHAIR!).
    5. T is red, CT is blue as CS:1.6.
    6. Players raw-posture's and coloring as CS:1.6.
    7. Give silenced colt (with 30-mag) a more raw sound.
    8. The standard-voice snippets - really? Did you never play Half-Life 1? Get real - sound like a boss. Get rid of the Supermario-feeling.
    9. Exact same reload/weapon switch timings.
    10. Cooler weapons movement for: Colt, AK and Knife.

    - Oh my lord, I can't think of how LOVELY this would be. AND HOW MUCH I WOULD PAY FOR IT!

    Keeping stickiness with the old+current player base:
    - CS:1.6 damage, gun control and hitboxes.

    Keeping simplicity:
    - Hiding all the bloat-UI guff, (keep the new features, just don't splash them in my face)

    Valve 1: Why not try with a beta? I mean 1,2,3, 7 & 9 (above) might only be configurations and NO NEW DEVELOPMENT. A couple of mandays of getting the feel for it. Google "SpawN" - he can help you.
    Valve 2: Why don't you ask some of the pro gamers instead of bribing them to play CS:GO?
    Valve 3: Google, Apple and Microsoft are all working to remove bloat from all platforms - Do you really think it's right to add it?
    Valve 4: One of usabilitie's core pillars is recognition. I.eg. the first time you used an iOS/Android-device, you knew where to click in order to open the phone menu. Think a little bit about the same thing here: Usability (recognition), stickiness (keeping skills from 9 years), product positioning (don't copy ugly things from COD/BF).

    In order to not be a complete **** I'll list what I think was very good with CS:GO:
    1. Graphics.
    2. New weapons (some should be invoke less dmg tho). 3. Valve setting your "level" to match you with equally skilled gamers - nobody likes to wait for a camping noob when you've planted the bomb, and the noob is camping in spawn. 4. Without server mods - you see dmg made to killer (damage made overall is missing). 5. Colt and AK now has the same numbering when buying weapons. 6. Movement recreation is fair enough. 7. AWP is working as expected. 8. Money (reward) system. 9. New maps! Community created. 10. Without server mods - votes are working well. 11. The ingame map - love it. 12. Without server mods - support for no-blocking (what story writers call no-collision)    … Expand

    One-dimensional camping pro positional shooter. I gave it a 2/10 because Valorant set the new low. At least guns here feel solid (still nothing compared to Apex Legends).

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I can say that playing this game is not comfortable. There are some reasons why i have such opinion. Firstly, cheaters. VALVe has so bad anti-cheat and I often meet cheaters in the matches. Secondly, optimisation. CS GO has as bad optimisation as it's graphics for 2012-2018. Also the game has static lighting in 2018!!! S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat had good graphics and dinamic lighting, wich is based on DirectX 10.1 in period from 2007-2009. Developers think that community is animals what will take all their mistakes. New battle-royale can't reach the level of PUBG or even it's game clones. The game become dead in 2016.     Back in 2015, (i think) i purchased CS:GO, the gameplay was great, but the community is just awful. i don't understand how people can survive with just a toxic community like CS:GO. it's full of racist, mean, and people who just want to make you angry. CS:S, on the other hand, has somewhat [of] a mix of "Nice & Mean" "fanbase".

    Good gameplay and nice, "light" engine that has been messed up with latest updates. Terrible hacking problem. Valve says that hit boxes are ok but when they are not in your body for most of the time. Laggy Eu servers and wh lag refuses bullets to go where you are shooting. Most of the time first bullet drops right infront of you.

    Not have good update a lot of time, they can update only **** skins. A good anti-cheat only on paid servers, then why create your own servers where there are neither admins nor normal anti-cheat. The game is still not able to use a lot of thread processor cores.

    Horrible horrible game. Worst version of CS by far. It's riddled with a plethora of problems which are both detrimental to competitive play as well as to enjoyability.

    Игра сейчас полный мусор не загружает видеокарту на 100% и умудряется фризить. А читеры это отдельная история с ними вообще не борются, все что делает Valve это скины и новые операции и уничтожает наши любимые карты.

    Worse shooter in the world. Bullets flies the freak away. Bad animations. Bad physics. Very big amount of cheaters. It's free, so cheaters can create a lot of accounts for playing this game with cheats.
    This game created only for money. Only skins makes this game alive.
    I played this game till 2016 and played now for 2 days. I have 2033 hours in this game, so all i wrote is true.

    They all make a sh1t-tons of money which they all pump into each other's businesses. "We will promote you as the best player and a super-duper pro and you will just keep playing and promote our products/websites. You can hack, but not so blatantly so the most of the people won't see. The majority of people watching you are unexperienced players, just little ret.rds so they will really believe you can actually play like this lol."
    So this game was made by cheaters for cheaters and no cheater is ever banned.

    But dont forget that you will be banned for typing in the chat: "cheating idiot". Yes, they ban for calling others cheaters. You can't point out that someone is cheating even though there are hundreds of thousands of those. NO BAN FOR EVEN ONE OF THEM, SORRY! WE MADE THIS GAME FOR SUCH LOSERS AND SO DEAL WITH IT OR GET BANNED. It's interesting how you will be banned for calling someone a cheater or an idiot, but the same IDIOTS who make this game literally made the models in this game shout "CVNTS!" or "THREE IDIOTS LEFT!".

    Where is ANY logic here?
    A few words about the bots in this game. They are horrible, because those who make this game are horrible developers. Bots were used to be very slow and re......ded so they literally made them in such way that the most blatant cheaters like shroud or other "pro" player would be very proud of - movement of a ret4rd, but able to kill you within 0.0000002 milliseconds after spotting you. BRAVO, thats they way everyone should "develop". When seeing 2 children playing and shooting each other with water guns give the worse one a real gun so he can perform "better"...

    I like this game, the whole idea behind it is great. But the problem is that this thing is not a game anymore. Its a fake show with fake "pro players" who cheat and "casual cheaters" playing "for fun". More like THEIR FUN which is to make everyone else who really has some skills and is really dedicated to this angry and sad by what they are doing.
    It would be much more fair if the developers just admitted to what they are doing (supporting cheating) and officially state that they dont ban cheating and dont condemn it. Everyone can cheat = everyone is happy. Dont say some stupid sh.. like you cant ban every cheater. Since this game went free you aren't banning anyone and there is a sh1t-ton of new cheaters every single day.
    If you treat people who play this game seriously do this:

    1. Make it available only for people with an ID (a looooooot of "players" would have to be banned and way less cheaters would exist in this game instantly. No fake accounts too.)
    2. Make it buyable and never again free
    3. Make bots just a little more realistic (Im not a game developer but I think its very easy. Headshot in 0.02 milliseconds? Come on... you are either trolls or you are the worst developers Ive ever seen)

    el juego es grandioso desde siempre, pero tambien es injugable desde estos ultimos años, valve no se molesta mas que en cobrar y nada de gestionar las TRAMPAS que segun ellos no existen. triste pero cierto. si se pudiera jugar en modo solo un player seria genial, pero la IA de sus bots sigue siendo de los 90s

    If it wasn't for the toxic playerbase, the need to win every match and gambling traps, it would get a higher score. The shooting is nice and feels cool to have weapons that aren't laser beams, but the fact that every match is a gamble to not be put with raging idiots leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Valve should get rid off the votekick and lootboxes and the game gets a higher score from me

    The gameplay is nice however the devs are super greedy. A single in game skin shouldn't go for over 100$?? I guess you gotta milk the cow for as long as it produces milk =)) Pointless cosmetics that ruin the feel of the game. You want me to believe that a SpecOps team would go around and graffity the map? Then they would be special indeed...

    The game is currently the only form in which Russians can hit anything with firearms, so their population is dominant on European servers. As I'm not fond of dealing with fecal matter, I decided to quit CS:GO after years of doing so. If Valve want their game to be kept alive by murderers and other scum then that's Valve's choice. I won't be a part of it.
