Aug 31, 2012Global Offensive is a rather conservative game, and sticks so closely to its predecessors that you can't help but wonder whether it really needed to exist. It's a fun game, make no mistake about that, but it also feels a little too familiar.

Sep 14, 2012Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is the latest installment in the franchise and brings updated graphics, two new game modes and new weapons to the venerable shooter. Its qualities are undeniable, but the question is if these are the qualities requested by the player base? With only primitive features to support the esport community, it's not hard to imagine that the game will get a lukewarm reception.

Aug 27, 2012Global Offensive takes no chances and it's hard to tell who it was made for. Source and 1.6 players will feel at home with the tried and true CS mechanics and traditional game modes, but GO gives them few reasons to migrate, other than flashy graphics on a few of the old maps. Conversely, newcomers to the series will find Counter-Strike's steep learning curve rather discouraging.
