Barely an improvement over CM: Barbarossa to Berlin. The African desert scenarios just aren't much fun. Some of the larger scenarios require a ridiculous amount of micromanagent which CMAK's aging interface doesn't make easy. It's hard to justify CMAK as a brand new game, it's really the equivalent of an addon to CMBB.

Not only the most accessible wargame on the market, but it's also a rich and fascinating tactical simulation. It's war on your computer. [Mar 2004, p.76]
  2. A lot of people will find the system too intricate and not immediate enough. But if you're inclined towards a more cerebral thrill, Combat Mission still offers the most realistic and arguably the most satisfying World War II strategy fix around. [PC Zone]
  3. Despite the dearth of new features and the inherited infirmities, £20 is far too low an asking price for a strategy game this cultivated. [PC Gamer UK]
