This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. For an atmospheric and free horror game, Close Your Eyes is a Steam 2015 PC RPG game for you to play for a rainy day. Close Your Eyes was a gem that I had stumbled upon from scrolling through the “free-to-play” section on Steam, requiring no money and a highly rated game, I decided to play. From the start, Close Your Eyes presents a foreboding dread and disorienting environment that boggles your mind, leaving you to second-guess your choices throughout the experience. Playing as a murderer on death row, this game teaches you to consider siding with the villain out to end your suffering than the character himself, that is, if you choose to feel this way. Close Your Eyes is a choice-driven experience where characters can follow your own path that you pave for them. The characters, including the main protagonist, all are sickening in their own ways which leaves you to think of who to side with. Unable to side with any of the characters you have to wait and try to find answers to puzzles to be more on your own character’s side. As a role-playing game, you could explore, replay and even achieve a total of 8 different endings in the game’s run-time. Classified as a Indie-Psychological horror RPG, the game manages to easily live up to just those titles alone. The attention to detail, voice actors, dedication, and even occasionally mind-boggling puzzles all leave you with satisfaction over the dedication and caring put into the project itself. The slithering change in the art-style with drawn setting and background and existing textures used from the RPG-maker, the game seems to throw in a mixture of art forms to draw you in. The games run-time varies from 0.4 hours-- to 40.3 hours on record, I managed to finish the game multiple times from a 2-3 hour binge time-span. Close Your Eyes is a highly recommended game that requires no money compensation, and only a Steam account. If you want to be able to play an older PC game then I highly recommend Close Your Eyes, the time will be worth it. Expand
