Feb 25, 2011A positive surprise, a remarkable "public transport tycoon" game from a brand new dev team that clears all the basic hurdles of the genre and manages to be entertaining. Traffic simulation needs some fixes, but otherwise quite polished and beautiful - just make sure your video card is good enough.
-
PC Games (Russia)Apr 8, 2011Cities in Motion isn't as polished as it could be, but it's still very deep and engaging. And – at times – quite meditative. [May 2011, p.107]
-
Mar 9, 2011Notwithstanding a few little imperfections, Cities in Motion is really complete from every side, including the unbeatable price.
-
Mar 8, 2011"Tycoon world" rises again with Cities in Motion! The necessity of building a prefect transportation system brings us new forms of entertainment that partially suffer the lack of a multiplayer/sharing mode.
-
Mar 7, 2011Cities in Motion is a beautiful, deep and engaging economic strategy game. Making sure that the public transit system runs smoothly is highly addictive, though constant traffic jams will probably frustrate new players.
-
Mar 14, 2011Cities in Motion is a new simulation that allows you to build the local traffic for the uprising cities Vienna, Berlin, Amsterdam and Helsinki. Unfortunately, the game consists of nothing more than planning and constructing routes.
-
Mar 3, 2011The only serious drawback with Cities in Motion is the single-minded nature of the simulation. You need to have--or at least be able to develop--a real love of mass transit to get much out of the game.
-
Feb 23, 20113D is very helpful for squeezing metro stops in between buildings and examining your spaghetti mess of underground metro tunnels.
-
Feb 18, 2011With 100 buildings, twelve scenarios and thirty vehicle types, we're hoping that the game will be well supported by an active modding community as well as post-release DLC. At the moment actual content is a tad sparse, but at a knockdown price of £14.99, you're getting a lot for your money.
-
Jan 12, 2011In summary, Cities in Motion looks to become a solid transportation sim in a colorful package. A comprehensive city model and a wide assortment of transport modes provide a wealth of choices to the aspiring city planner.
-
PC PowerPlayApr 18, 2011Difficult, nerdy, tedious but satisfying. What more could you want in a lover? [May 2011, p.70]
-
Mar 22, 2011The lack of feedback, in-game competition, and unpredictability hurt the game's long-term draw; some older business simulations didn't have these problems. Cities in Motion does feature stellar tools and is one of the prettier business simulations on the market.
-
Mar 15, 2011Cities in Motion is an innovative and well thought through tycoon-game. By putting the focus on the managing of public transport in the cities, the game distinguishes itself from other tycoon-games. The concept has been worked out well as a whole, but the balance in gameplay could've used more refinement.
-
Mar 7, 2011Cities in Motion is a game about public transport attractive enough for fans of this genre but with too many limitations for those looking for a more global possibility. The game features an appropiate graphical level but certain problems in the simulation of traffic must be addressed to make it a real choice.
-
Mar 4, 2011It's not without its quirks but Cities In Motion is a dependable heir to the transport sim genre's throne.
-
Feb 26, 2011Quotation forthcoming.
-
Mar 12, 2011A transitory pleasure that polishes up nice. But it lacks variety and competition, and is just a little bit too difficult.
-
Mar 22, 2011An unusual managerial, somehow confined by its own concept. Public transport can be fun in the beginning, but it gets old pretty soon. It just depends on what you're interested in, and surely it's a well developed simulation.
-
Apr 4, 2011Cities in Motion is a game about the edification and management of public transportation in four major european cities. The management side is not so easy, and you will have to master the different elements of the game in order to avoid bankruptcy. In terms of creation, CiM could have been a little more enjoyable in terms of controls, and visuals. For 20 euros, it still can fulfill the needs of the fans, until a more ambitious titles arises.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Apr 6, 2011Cities in Motion is a good example of what a young Finnish game studio is capable of: 3D graphics and programming. Good games remain beyond their reach so far. [Mar 2011]
