Aug 30, 2016This game perfectly mixes strategy with role playing. Its progression system is very complete and the story that it features is funny and interesting.

Game World Navigator MagazineSep 21, 2016Champions of Anteria plays almost like Dungeon Siege successor: multiple heroes, real-time pauseable tactical combat, RPG elements that dictate flow of fights. The only thing that’s missing is pack donkey, but there’s no need for it – instead of bags full of loot, champions are rewarded with additional lands that will be settled in Anno manner. [Issue#212, p.56]
-
Aug 30, 2016Champions of Anteria is a good example of how to combine management phases and action-RPG sections without altering either of the two.
-
Sep 3, 2016Yes, the pathfinding can be disastrous at times, while the mission variety leaves room improvement. But the fighting system is intuitive, while reminding me of the classic Baldur’s Gate in its best moments – as rare as they might be.
-
Sep 8, 2016The game is a unique blend of genres that I haven't seen attempted anywhere else, and it gets more right than it does wrong.
-
Aug 30, 2016An experience full of a sense of humor and MOBA-style combat, and a videogame able to put together three different gaming styles with great results.
-
Sep 23, 2016Solid core systems, but poor presentation and technical issues hold it back.
-
Sep 17, 2016Champions of Anteria is an interesting hybrid experiment that may be considered as successful, but not entirely.
-
Sep 7, 2016Those after a light bite of RTS/RPG gameplay with a positive attitude will find a lot of fun with Champions of Anteria. It is unlikely to blow any players away, and fans of The Settlers will find little to keep them occupied, but there’s a nice little game here. Without expecting too much, Champions of Anteria delivers a decent injection of fantasy humor into the market.
-
Sep 2, 2016Champions of Anteria has a lot of good ideas, but rarely you will enjoy them. It is a little simple and it has very repetitive missions, but it's fun.
-
Sep 1, 2016Champions of Anteria is based on an excellent idea but has too many structural problems. It is, in the end, a two-faced product, divided between a good strategic section and a boring action phase.
-
Aug 30, 2016Born from the ashes of The Settlers: Kingdom of Anteria, the new Champions of Anteria is a good mix between RTS, turn-based strategy and GDR, with a good level of difficulty and several tattical approaches, but has some trouble with the AI.
-
Sep 6, 2016Champions of Anteria can be a really addictive and occasionally fun game with nice ideas and a neat sense of humour, but as a Straction RPeGy it’s just got far too many flaws to recommend.
-
Aug 31, 2016The new Blue Byte's IP in yars is packed with a lot of humor and a decent technical realization, but the mechanics are too cumbersome and frustrating.
-
Sep 11, 2016Monotonous tactical battles without depth, combined with a rudimentary building part and repetitive missions.
-
Games Master UKNov 9, 2016Part RPG, part RTS, it sadly fails to nail both. An entertaining if mediocre medieval adventure. [Nov 2016, p.80]
-
CD-ActionNov 18, 2016Due to its offensive simplicity and repetitiveness Champions of Anteria looks more like some mobile bull than a real strategy game. [11/2016, p.62]
-
Sep 5, 2016Champions of Anteria has too many problems to become relevant as a strategy game. It's enjoyable and it can be a good option if you're new to the genre, but if not, there's plenty of better options.
-
Sep 13, 2016Champions of Anteria is a dull, repetitive, and inconsistent attempt to make a RTS/MOBA hybrid. The strategy sections of the game feel undercooked to the point of being inconsequential to the rest of the game, while the broken AI and repetitive gameplay of the tactical RPG sections offer little that other games aren’t doing better. Champions of Anteria feels like a game made by someone who doesn’t really understand what people like about strategy games or MOBA’s, and at a $30 price, I can’t see recommending it to anyone.
-
Aug 30, 2016Boring, repetitive and strategically negligible, Champions of Anteria is a way too simplicistic mixture of real-time-strategy and management. The five champions are blatantly unbalanced, the core of the gameplay requires you to repeat the same identical missions until the end credits, and the only hint of variety comes from the boss battles.
