Apr 29, 2011Cargo! is a little on the short side (I finished it in five hours and probably could've improved on that), but it delights and surprises at every turn as it propels you through its frankly baffling narrative. Much like Ice-Pick Lodge themselves, you'll never quite be able to predict what it's going to throw at you next.
-
May 5, 2011Cargo! – The quest for gravity is hard to judge. Someone could be tempted to tear it apart for its production flaws, but in all it's a good and creative game.
-
May 4, 2011Fundamentally, it's about having FUN – because FUN is important.
-
PC Games (Russia)Jun 24, 2011Dear Ice-Pick lodge, we have a feeling that your game might be a masterpiece if tweaked and worked a little further. And don't say that you weren't inspired by Psychonauts. We won't believe anyway. [July 2011, p.121]
-
Apr 26, 2011Funny game with little long term motivation.
-
Jun 13, 2011A strange game that won't hold your attention for too long, but makes a rather delightful distraction.
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jun 23, 2011Ice-Pick Lodge attacks again with a strange game what brings an unexpected pleasure of building your own vehicles, exploring the surreal world with reflection on the past and the future of the world. [June 2011]
-
Jun 23, 2011Glorious insanity. This is one of the weirdest games you'll ever play. It's by no means perfect, but if you're at all interested in experiencing something truly unique, you owe it to yourself to give it a try.
-
Jun 1, 2011Apart from the synchronization, you really get an innovative and fun game.
-
Apr 25, 2011A rather good little game, but it's a game held back by its own compulsion to be ambiguous, not to mention the staggering lack of things to do outside of its enigmatic objectives and vehicle building.
-
PC GamerJul 14, 2011Exploring Cargo's bizarre world is charming and even thought-provoking at times, but ultimately turns out to be a superficial experience. [Sept 2011, p.69]
-
May 27, 2011There's that feeling that I should have fun playing the game, but most of the time I'm bored or angry because the controls are buggy. But if you like to be creative, maybe you'll be happy in this colourful world.
-
May 27, 2011Cargo! The Quest for Gravity could have been an unforgettable game title; unfortunately, due to poorly-conceived vehicle controls, unclear objectives and some serious technical issues, what's bound to stick in your mind is the frustration of playing it.
-
Apr 27, 2011Cargo: The Quest for Gravity pulls you in with its surreal visuals and strange premise, but its gameplay rarely gets off the ground.
-
Jul 22, 2011Quotation forthcoming.
-
CD-ActionJul 1, 2011It captivates you for an hour using the element of surprise. When you shake off the hefty dose of absurdity, you quickly become bored as the gameplay is uninteresting and looks like a bunch of random (and often nonsensical) ideas crammed into one game by force. [June 2011, p.79]
-
May 10, 2011CARGO! - The Quest for Gravity is a one of a kind game. The game offers unique and weird visuals which boost the general atmosphere. You will find yourself guessing what your missions are and that gets very irritating. After six hours, your journey is over and you have no clue about what just happened.
-
PC PowerPlayJul 10, 2011Proof that gleeful surrealism does not automatically indicate arthouse brilliance. [Aug 2011, p.74]
