    The weakest campain of any Call of Duty game so far. I HATE the mission chasing a truck throwing endless mines, it's absolutely stupid.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is really disappointing.Bad map designs ,bad movements, punishing the rushers, bad Campaign and more.

    Normally I play campaign multiple times Mw2019 I played 4 times ,but mw2 story was so boring that I played once.

    Infinity ward does everything to destory this game, they removing everything that community liked. 


    My K/D with mw2 is dropped really bad,and I'm not a bad player ,playing sinds  2005 call of duty 2.


    Im now stopped playing this because its gives to much anger and stress. 


    If I realy bored than I play mw 2019. Its still fun to play.    … Expand

    I've enjoyed the campaign - it was relatively lenght for Call of Duty game and the missions were quire diverse. There were some bugs which should not be present in AAA game. Multiplayer is suprisingly low in number of players - I am located in central Europe so that should not be the case. Otherwise pretty fun experience.

    Im pretty mixed with this game. On one hand i love playing ranked and leveling guns so on, but on the other. This game still has massive problems. No map voting, netflix ui, minimal gamemodes and so on. Just to name a few. There is a lot to improve here, but that is not what the devs care about. What we get instead is battlepasses, halfasked events and exoebsive popular figure or animeIm pretty mixed with this game. On one hand i love playing ranked and leveling guns so on, but on the other. But instead we get less than one games content in total, and now were getting a half asked mw3 release. And if we can judge off of the reveal event: this will not be a good game. Money first!     The game is just lacking content, took out most of what made 2019 good, for the sake of "realism" but then proceed to add wacky bundles and crazy skins. They focus more on the store than on actual content, and warzone 2 is just a embarrassing downgrade of the original.

    Maps are incredibly badly made, the balance is non-existant. All the maps only favor camping, and the shop sells useless game braking **** skins, and every new update only makes the performance worse. Plus the ui is absolute ****

There were no plot twists and any missions that stood out. Graves and Hassan were one dimensional villains. AI is ridiculously overpowered and will insta-kill you from any corner on Hardened or Veteran and armored enemies become repetitive . Soundtrack is forgettable. Too many plot holes that insult the intelligence of its userbases. For instance in one mission you're waiting in an elevator with a member of the Mexican cartel and one of the dialogue options allows you to knock him unconscious, but upon doing that his body completely disappears once the elevators reaches the lower floor and stops. The game never explains why Hassan is working with Al Qatala

    The UI in particular is cancer. Navigating through the menu requires unnecessary button presses and prompts and gives off the impression that you're playing a mobile game, not a $70 AAA title.

    On another note, this game should have never been titled MWII seeing how much it has pissed on the legacy of its previous games and is commonly confused with the far superior Modern Warfare 2.    … Expand

    Filled with bugs and hackers, but that doesn't matter to them unfortunately. Lousy business practices and they do not have gamer's best interests in mind. Better off using that money for toilet paper than buying this game.

    It's a mix of good and bad. The lighting bugs are quite annoying. Most of the game is a decent shooter and stealth mix. There are some frustrating missions where you have to hide from a tank or soldiers hunting you but you don't have a weapon. The being without a weapon really is not enjoyable. The outside light lens flare when you're inside bug makes some levels really difficult to playIt's a mix of good and bad. The lighting bugs are quite annoying.     A blatant attempt to copy the game-play of the original game, but at the same time they fail, because what was relevant and interesting once in the distant past, now needs to be improved ... and even so there were ridiculously stupid moments, like a completely safe zone when you need to hide in the grass.
    Enemies? Just as stupid as they were, although they now know how to bypass you from the flank. Difficulty level? The simplest formula - don't think about diversity, just make the bodies "thicker".
    In the end, it's just a piece of high-quality graphics and sound, and low-quality of everything that makes the game even a little bit interesting.    … Expand

    A step back from MW2019 in most ways. Do not buy if you were looking for an improved version of MW2019. I hoped this game would improve Infected with the updates, but it is still a shell of what MW2019 infected was.

    Kann seit dem letzten Update mein Waffen Loadout nicht mehr bearbeiten. Lande beim anwählen direkt im Hauptmenü. Im Spiel lässt sich keine Waffe auswählen, es öffnet und schließt sich nur das Auswahlfenster in schneller Frequenz.

    The last of my hope for the Call of Duty franchise has withered with this release. Of course I'll still play it every now and then, it is CoD after all. But the drip-fed content is so slow that mid season 2 it just felt like I'd had enough. I ended up stopping playing it with fewer hours than I spent in Vanguard or Cold War which should say all you need to know. The new extraction mode is laughably bad, painful to play and I'm happy to never touch it again. As for warzone, I was never a fan but did my time in Verdansk, and Warzone II is just terrible. There is no enjoyment to be had there. I don't see any of the little dinky updates saving this game, and I think this is where my experience with CoD ends. (Oh and this is the worst CoD campaign I may have ever played)… Expand

    the campaign is great and it has a good and exciting story. if only it was longer 6 hours is not enough i expected 10 to 12 hours. the 3 co-op missions are lackluster except maybe the 2nd one
    it seems like they toned down the realism in MP for some reason. my favorite modes, gunfight and gungame are missing, since you have to play with different guns to unlock parts for other guns(which is stupid and annoying) those two modes that you play with random guns could be helpful. I have a lot of connectivity issues on steam including update failed errors and not joining games. Update: the connectivity issues are mostly fixed after the recent update
    the optimization of the game is convincing for now but there are occasional frame drops. the file size of the game is far far better than the 150GB+ MW 2019. I hope they let you delete campaign after finishing and don't force you to download warzone to keep the file size low and i hate battle royale.
    the graphics of the game in single player mode is fascinating but not perfect. the lighting is a disaster comparing to MW 2019. MW 2019 had a natural and realistic lighting but MW II has a green/brown tint and high contrast making it a little cartoonish. even with high texture settings, some textures are terribly low res.
    the maps are meh non of them really stand out nor has it's own identity except maybe the hydroelectric map. that's because they focused too much on warzone and all mp maps are different parts of warzone 2 maps which is a terrible idea. remaking old maps could alleviate the lack of good maps.
    with more updates and making the running animations more smooth, and option for changing lighting and contrast, more optimization and fixing connectivity issues there is a good potential for this game. there is a great first person shooter experience in this game that is buried under many issues but it could turn to a great game with more updates just like MW 2019 did
    Update: the sbmm has made the game frustrating for me I'm a casual player but if i do a little good i have to face pro af players in next few matches. the better idea was to keep sbmm for ranked mode and make quick play/casual mode random just like other games do or at least show your skill level    … Expand

    I never played any CoD game before and this was my first one. I knew it's FPS (so I didn't expect Sniper Elite or Ghost Recon) but I was really surprised how silly the game is. Do you recall Virtua Cop ? Car chase moments really remind me of that. In the lighthouse mission there are guards arriving in a car, regardless of where you hide they always walk in your direction - pacman style.I never played any CoD game before and this was my first one. I knew it's FPS (so I didn't expect Sniper Elite or Ghost Recon) but I was really surprised how silly the game is. Do you recall Virtua Cop ? Car chase moments really remind me of that.     Multiplayer: the game has quite a lot of modes good amount of maps I find that the multiplayers guns are balances but of course most Lobby’s have smgs everywhere but most multiplayer cod lobby’s are with the maps though I would like original maps from older games    … Expand

    The most advanced COD of all time was promised from many, but I think Vanguard was better and that doesn't mean anything really.. This game still doesn't work if you are not a consistent buyer from in game store. 20 bucks for bundle weekly, it will work like a charm.. This game is very bad, do not buy anything from it.. you are welcome

    Fix aim assist for console players or at least ALLOW US TO TURN OFF CROSSPLATFORM.
    One of the worst COD releases so far.

    Multiplayer is fun if you liked Modern Warfare (2019), but it's still in a somewhat rough state & could be better (plus it seems like the issues of Vanguard's post-launch support    Campaign is pretty good. Not the best COD campaign & not all of it's changes to the COD formula work (looking at you armoured enemies & tank boss fight), but it's a good time and tells an engaging enough story.

    Multiplayer is fun if you liked Modern Warfare (2019), but it's still in a somewhat rough state & could be better (plus it seems like the issues of Vanguard's post-launch support are rearing their ugly head again).

    Haven't played much of Spec Ops, but it's 100% much better than MW19.

    Overall, I recommend Modern Warfare II, but not at $70 USD/$90 CAD. Wait for a sale.

Difficulty is also unexplainable, there were multiple parts when I struggled even in Recruit mode, and I used to play some of the previous CoD's in    I have only played the campaign.     One main problem for both modes is that the AI really doesn't work well with stealth. Once you're spotted, all enemies in the area instantly lock onto you and hit you from anywhere as long as there is a line of sight. They don't have to individually detect you, but suddently know where exactly you are and it doesn't feel right at all.

    The gunplay is amazing as always, but that's an expectation by now. Everything else is sub par.    … Expand

As a newcomer to cod games mw2 to me is great fun with an ok campaign while at times it gets pretty frustrating and the skill gap at the beginning was insane, the multiplayer is mostly a good time. The story on the other hand has poor writing, and the villains with unclear motivations but the big save for the campaign is the characters. I loved seeing ghost and soaps chemistry and captain price’s sick dialogue. So overall I say mw2 is worth playing.… Expand

    The only redeeming feature is that it seems like there is good gunplay mechanics hidden beneath all the other bad design.

    I cannot recommend this game, Modern Warfare (2019) was better in virtually all regards.

    BLUF: Do NOT spend you're $70 on this game. If you're really interested in playing the latest Call of Duty, continue to track the state of the game and/or wait for this game to go on sale. Crazy how Activision has the right to charge $10+ for the game, yet delivered a bug filled ride and a toxic mulitplayer. Additionally, the game has A LOT of bugs and stability issues. Look elsewhere this year.

    I was highly skeptical of this game when it released and just decided to try out the Warzone 2.0 mode for free. I played for a few days in free to play DMZ and BR modes and decided to bite the bullet and pick up the full game. The gameplay is very good. I originally played MW 1 and 2 back in the day and this game really feels like a throwback to that era. The gunplay and movement feelI was highly skeptical of this game when it released and just decided to try out the Warzone 2.0 mode for free. I played for a few days in free to play DMZ and BR modes and decided to bite the bullet and pick up the full game. The gameplay is very good. I originally played MW 1 and 2 back in the day and this game really feels like a throwback to that era. The gunplay and movement feel just right and I don't see too many of these sliding , bunny hopping, crack addicts who sprint around as much as the last version. The action is much more grounded in this version and I feel like the gameplay is king. The Maps for the most part are very well structured and you'll find new avenues and opportunities constantly in the beginning. Mastering map memory is the key to big scores as you out flank and out manuever less experienced players. There are so many paths and vertical spaces that no one is every completely safe and camping spots are at a minimum. Planting traps like claymores has never been more satisfying. The gameplay overall is highly addictive and I can barely keep track of the time when i play.

    Despite the great gamplay, it's not perfect in other aspects. There is no excuse for the multitude of bugs and glitches present nor the absolutely useless interface. Why did they change it? Anyway, I feel that with time this will become a classic, but right now it feels a tad bit unfinished. There are not too many guns to choose from for instance and it seems that many standard weapons where left out so they can drip feed them in over time. However, the new gun tuning is awesome and I find I can sit and tinker with my m4 all day long, searching for that perfect setup. Of course, microtransactions are ever present and the push for the 30$ Battle Pass is constant. Not worth it though. You don't seem to get much and you can actually unlock the guns fairly quickly. Who cares about operators and skins? Not me, but if you do, then drop the 30 extra dollars and have fun.

    Overall, I think they nailed the gameplay but the rest really needs some work. The SP Campaign is once again pretty generic and the co-op missions are quite simple and not that much fun. The mp is where it's at and I love the DMZ and Invasion modes for the huge maps and varied gameplay. I would say if you're on the fence, pick up Warzone 2.0 for free and jump into the DMZ beta. That will let you know if you really wanna pull the trigger on the full game or not. Cheers and hope to squad up with ya'll!

    Edit: I should also mention that I started playing this game a few weeks after it released, so I probably did not experience a lot of the bugs people had on launch. With the release of Warzone 2.0 the game got a pretty big update with bug fixes and gameplay tweaks.     - Le modalità di sblocco degli accessori delle armi e le armi stesse sono orribili: Perchè devo
    livellare un'arma che mi fa schifo per sbloccare gli accessori di quella che mi piace?

    - Le animazioni inziali di una partita non si possono togliere dalle palle? Sono una perdita di tempo,
    che sommata al tempo di ricerca partita e caricamento livello diventa pesante. E' un gioco multiplayer, non ce ne frega niente del video idiota che mostra quanto sono fighi i soldatini.

    - Perchè non c'è una modalità ranked? Così i sweaty se ne vanno li e non rompono le scatole
    a chi vuole farsi due spari.

    - Le kill streaks si commentano da sole, missili, elicotteri caccia bombardieri, kill a basso costo per
    aumentare l'ego dei giocatori.

    - I tank nelle modalità su larga scala sono troppo overkill, dovete nerfarli di brutto.

    - Limitate il numero di sniper nelle modalità su larga scala.

    - Se io lascio una partita perchè mi fa schifo, perchè mi devi ributtare dentro la stessa oppure

    Game is crashing every other game
    Unlock system is garbo
    I never finished the story. Waste-of-time-trash-bag-level-entertainment.

    This is a clear zero. For sure: 1 of 8 games game will crush. Most of the time: 1 of 4 games game will crush. That makes no fun. And it is absolutely overpriced regarding the point that I am a beta tester for a messed up game now. And I am not sure that they are able to fix it

    The game is beautiful and well made, such a shame that SBMM made its way back stronger than ever. No one wants it yet they still put it in. Would've been a 8/10 if it weren't for that. The lobbies are SO EXTREMELY sweaty that no one in their right mind would want to play this. Playing CoD casually is a thing of the past. Also it keeps lagging at the start of EVERY match and stability on PCThe game is beautiful and well made, such a shame that SBMM made its way back stronger than ever.     Fix your servers plz, ping 130 ,crashes because of steam disconnect, why? + warzone looks like garbage on max settings.

    Best game of 2022

    Don't care if people say this isn't as good as 2009. I mean the Batman and The Dark Knight are apart of the same franchise but people hold them in the same regard

    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II offers excellent, perfectly toned-down multiplayer that – unlike the previous games in the series – requires good but not superhuman reflexes. Guns feel better than ever and the extremely dynamic, huge Ground War is a great mode for a Battlefield fan. Modern Warfare II is simply the best online shooter available. What’s more, the single player campaign is outstanding too. Missions in its second half might disappoint those who expect to have their finger on the trigger all the time, but amazing graphics and some really cool assignments make bearing with those gameplay experiments worth it.

    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) is a fine sequel that checks all of the boxes when it comes to a serviceable CoD campaign, good co-op options, and a super shiny competitive multiplayer that plays well enough for most. However, Infinity Ward has played it safe with this CoD installment, leaning into the strengths of Modern Warfare (2019) while making minor improvements, but ultimately failing to push the envelope in any meaningful way.
