So much fun with bots in both multiplayer & zombie mode. The AI is intelligent and provides countless hours of fun. Here's hoping all future CoDs retain their bots. Battlefield can go to hell.

The game is very good , first time in a decade we can say , call of duty is back , all the people saying there are no enough players are liars or where sent by EA and dice 100% , this year is the first year am gonna skip battlefield . there are enough players in every game mode .. I have no idea what they are talking about , clearly fake reviews.

Great game, i dont care about campaign if they supplemented with other modes. Let Infinity Ward or Sledgehammer make campaigns for CoD, we don't need a new campaign every year from CoD. TreyArch should focus on what they're good at: fun games with some silliness mixed in. The other two make better campaigns anyways.

Who even plays COD campaigns in 2018?

Instead they decided to do something different, even if it was just copying a popular BR genre.
This is a good sign they know the series is getting stale, and blackout mode is a massive success.
Streamers like Shroud and DrDisRespect are all-nighting and enjoying the game for its polish and effort.

I put in at least a dozen hours on launch weekend in blackout and have to say Treyarch really did put in a lot of effort to BO4's success on the PC. There have been launch day updates everyday, addressing Reddit users' concerns and reported issues, providing fixes like I've never seen a development group do before. Try finding another BR title that provides this much polish and server stability.

I am very impressed with what Treyarch pulled off, most games (even AAA, i.e. EA) are a buggy mess these days when they launch, but not this one. Game does lack cosmetic content, character skins, and events, etc. But as it stands right now I am very happy with where Treyarch is going with this title.

The specialists add some nice depth to the game and make it more interesting than any previous CoD I've played (all since CoD 4).

If you've ever enjoyed the CoD multiplayer experience, this game will fit you will. It ticks many boxes and there's a lot to enjoy for various players.
With Treyarch having their hands on CoD this year around, I trust that they'll keep the game up to date and add various things (such as specialists).

People are just being overly negative because "It's just another cod bro"... sure, but a lot of people also actually enjoy "just another cod", especially with the changes this time around.

The graphics are great, performance is good. Multiplayer Is difficult to master but easy enough to learn. Blackout is like a better version of PUBG. Zombies is great and they have managed to add more complexity and creativity to an always fun game

Its understandable if out of personal preference another person gives it a 6 and that's reasonable but I don't see anyway possible for this game to earn or deserve anything like the 2 or 4 scores, that's just an exaggeration.

Looks great, Plays Fluid and RUNS Amazing for older hardware. I get between 55 to 90FPS on Very High at 1080p on i7 6700k and GTX 970. So I am telling you its very solid and fluid. Very surprised actually. Remember how Black Ops3 stutters and lags? This doesn't have any of these issues whatsoever.

Last thought, I highly recommend installing this on the SSD instead of the HDD.

Happy Holidays All. Buy it if you are familiar with the franchise and know what you are getting into like my self you won't regret it. Specially on sale!! I am loving the Multiplayer, Black Out is Not bad either but I just play for Team Deathmatch and Zombies and They are Superb!!

Brings me back to excitement I haven't felt since MW2, Would love to see this same love given to another campaign someday.

Coming from a place of hard scepticism, Black ops 4 has been redeeming the franchise for me over the last 6 hours of full release gameplay. The zombies mode is fast and fluid as all the other game types. Manual healing is a welcome refreshment of the cooldown heal

Im not a Call of Duty fan boy.
I fell off the CoD wagon after MW3 and really never turned back. (only one exception, CoD AW).
I understand the ones upset over no single-player campaign, but i dont understand the 0's, I feel that those are not well thought out reviews, and just very salty gamers who whine because they dont get what THEY want in the game....ANYWAY, review time.

Blackout: Fast pace, tight controls, smooth game play. Best enjoyed with a squad of 4 of your friends. its more like PUBG but sprinkled with some unique perks and equipment.

Multiplayer PVP: Expect the same gun play CoD is known for. Much like a hero based shooters, players now select characters with unique abilities and load outs. This is a welcome change that i find to be quite enjoyable. Gone is passive healing, and in are Health bars making for a change on how you play forcing you to remember to heal yourself if you take far too much damage.

Zombies: Maybe its because i havent played zombie mode in a long while, but i think Its great in Black ops 4, I love the XI locations and gladiator arena. And the super moves are awesome. It feels like its own game.

Final Thoughts: If you were to ask me if it was worth full retail price, Id say 'yes'. I feel that this game has a lot to offer, every mode feels like its own game in terms of detail, content, and how polished everything feels. Its a solid game. If you were to strip the name Call of Duty and it were given a different name i think there wouldn't be so much salt being thrown at this game. Its because its Call of Duty that its given so much negative reviews.

I'd say the game is worth it for the BR alone, and the zombie mode is nice for some variation. Other games do the regular team-based PvP better (though this is subjective of course). It's a little pricey, but worth it if you have some friends to co-op with.

    1. Баланс (в мультиплеере)

This rating is considering primarily the ZOMBIE mode. Considering the multiplayer or blackout you could imagine this is 3/10 instead 8/10.

If you buy this game full-price you must really like Battle Royale and COD's classical multiplayer mode. If you are like me and play COD traditionally primarily for the Zombie mode than should wait for a discount. I bought it for ~35 Euro.

If you buy this game full-price you must really like Battle Royale and COD's classical multiplayer mode. If you are like me and play COD traditionally primarily for the Zombie mode than should wait for a discount. I bought it for ~35 Euro.

Generally COD has a lot improvements in comparison to predecessors.
This time the devs really put some love into the PC version. The setting options for everything is just a big improvement. You can setup any small detail you want. Even keybinds for your keyboard or mouse settings are way more options now. Also the menu does not look like a lazy console port anymore.

And the textures and graphics look gorgeous. It is no comparison to BO3. The PC looks definitely superior in comparison to consoles. And the game plays very smooth with mouse and keyboard. It is a blast!

The zombie mode this time comes with three maps from the start instead of one! The zombie mode changes are all nice without changing the general feel of this mode. Well thought-out little changes! This time you can pick a "bubblegum" to give a mate some credits, also if your mate needs to buy a weapon but hasn't enough money you can go to the crate and buy one and then press melee button to free the weapon to be able to be picked up by your mates so they can get a weapon for free even if they ran out of money.

A really needed and nice change is that you can create custom servers for free with a huge amount of customizing options regarding the mode's game-rules settings!

So for example if you play with a friend that needs to learn the very basics you can make it so that zombies do half the damage and have half healthpoiints or start with a larger amount of start credits. Or that the zombie are only allowed to run at walking dead zombies
like walking speed but never run. And many more options - really there are a lot options.

So many people may not use that options but it is nice even if you just want to find all the easter eggs without too much stress, or just want to enjoy the map and take your time.

This is the best Zombie mode and a big step forward in comparison to Black Ops 3!

The multiplayer and battle royale modes on the other hand are nothing special. The multiplayer mode is unbalanced and fast-paced like always. Some weapons and abilities are just plain overpowered, also new players with level 1 get matchmaked with maxlevel and prestige players constantly. It is fast-paced and smooth and the movement is awesome, but its just not a good multiplayer mode and far from balanced.

The battle royale mode is a disappointment. It adds NOTHING new to this genre. Just avoid and play Ring of Elysium or PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

So. Wait for the price to drop a bit. Do not buy it full price. The zombie mode is outstanding and the heart of this game. This mode is high quality and has some nice changes in comparison to predecessors. If you are interested in multiplayer only, you just get new of the same and nothing special. Wait for an even bigger drop of price.
If you are interested in battle royale mode -> avoid this game, since nobody plays this mode and it adds nothing slightest creative to the battle royale genre.

I rate this game only considering the zombie mode, since I am only interested in that.

Zombies = 8/10 (too high price considering this is the only good mode in this game)

So if you aren't interested in the zombie mode you can subtract 5 points since they ditched solo campaign, added an useless battle royale clone and multiplayer is just unbalanced and stupid -> 3/10.

Zombies 8/10. The game as a whole 3/10.

Specialist training missions apply to multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout, lending a sense of cohesion to otherwise separate modes. It's easy to randomly get hit 3 times in one second and just go down. They compensate by giving two free lives and even more with perks, but jugg would still be better.

I don't understand how the game has a 3.6 score. It's not the best game you will ever play but it certainly doesn't deserve a 3.6 score. I was never a fan of the black ops series, and really stopped playing after all call of duty games after I played Ghosts, which lasted maybe a week because I hated that game. It's not the best game you will ever play but it certainly doesn't deserve a 3.6 score. I was never a fan of the black ops series, and really stopped playing after all call of duty games after I played Ghosts, which lasted maybe a week because I hated that game. But I decided to give this one a shot because I had some friends who were interested in the Blackout mode in this game. Here is my opinion for what its worth.

Multiplayer: It feels the same as all other multiplayer call of duty games. Fast paced and you die a ton. Comparing it to older games such as Modern Warfare 2 (my favorite) it seems that you die much more often. Thinking back on how I used to get the Nuclear Bomb and kill everyone on the map pretty often, this game seems like it would be WAY harder to get. Also, getting my kill streaks seems to be more difficult in this game. The multiplayer still puts me in a rage like any other call of duty game. It could be me, but every Duty game I've played seems that if you are on a server more than likely you the match is won in a landslide. One team completely obliterates the other team. Maybe because one person on another team is hosting the server? I'm not sure...

Blackout: Blackout is a fun battle royale game. I don't know what all the hate is about but I really do enjoy it. I'm not very good at it as I only have 2 wins in i'd say about 300 games but I still enjoy playing it. It's probably the best realistic battle royale game out IMHO.

Zombies: I've only played it once because I don't enjoy this mode. So I won't give an opinion on it.

Them cutting out the story mode doesn't matter to me because I literally never played the story mode on any call of duty game ever. The fact that I can go back and forth between the battle royale more and multiplayer is great. When I get frustrated with blackout I jump on multiplayer. But really though, I feel like you get your $60.00 worth for this game because both modes are pretty fun, and I'm usually very critical of games.

    Cons:
#1 The damn skins! The skins aren't even that appealing so I don't really try for them, but man are they damn near impossible to get! You can unlock skins for players in blackout mode. But its all randomized. You have to find certain items in the battlefield and complete tasks. Example: Find a neckless in a supply drop, kill a person with a shotgun, and kill someone with a melee OR Find a stained t-shirt and activate an alarm that might be all the way across the map and finish top 10 or something. These don't seem very hard, but they are EXTREMLEY difficult to accomplish to the point where I don't even care to unlock skins, because they aren't even cool enough for me to care.

#2 Some servers on multiplayer are ridiculous. I can be on a team with a prestige master level 145 and he will go 3-18, while someone on the other team is level 7 going 24-7. This is how its always been I suppose. But it just seems like if you are on a certain team its much easier to kill players. I can hit someone with a full clip in the back and have to reload and they turn around and kill me. But every so often when you are on that right side of the scoreboard, you will rack up the kills and unlock all those kill streaks and walk away feeling very satisfied.

The bad part is that the PC version (which I own) is infested with cheaters, for which neither Activision nor Trayarch seem to worry. They seem to be more focused on generating money than looking after the gameplay and servers. In South America the servers are in Brazil, and cheats infect 3 out of 2 parties. This makes many players finally abandon the games. Do something with this, stop thinking about money.

The tier progression is intentionally slow to try and get players to spend money on the game. Like the retards at Anime News Network saying "How Square Enix Convinced Disney to Make Kingdom Hearts". They convinced Disney to collaborate but Disney didn't make Kingdom Hearts at any point, that's a fact, Square Enix did Make Kingdom Hearts though, that's a fact. "How Square Enix Convinced Disney to Collaborate" is accurate and not misleading, also it's a fact that Square Enix is the developer that did Make Kingdom Hearts and Makes the series. Secondly and finally the retards at IGN made the factually false statement in their half baked "Breaking Down the Story of Kingdom Hearts" video that didn't go in actual through detail of "The story of Kingdom Hearts is a crazy, convoluted timeline." No retards. The story of Kingdom Hearts factually is not a "crazy, convoluted timeline." It's not actually convoluted at all and that's fact, it's called thinking and paying attention, something you retards don't ever actually do. Not actually "crazy" either and that's fact. Stop misusing the word "convoluted" retards. It's not "convoluted" and that's fact. If it was that would be a negative but everything in the story factually does work and that's what makes it a great, amazing story. It's actually all pretty easy to figure out if you actually pay attention to detail and connect the dots. It's a complex story but it's great and amazing because it's as complex as it is and works extraordinarily well as a story. And you can understand it all easily by paying attention and thinking, it's perfectly intelligible, that's irrefutable fact. It's makes perfect sense, that's a fact. it's not a "crazy, convoluted timeline" and that's fact. It's an excellent, complex timeline that works surprisingly well, perhaps perfectly and that's fact. Finally the video wasn't "Breaking Down the Story of Kingdom Hearts-IGN Breakdown". What it did was a lazy summary but some guy who made the retarded question of "Is Donald actually a good party member". Do you have to ask? Yes. Donald is actually a good party member factually. And 0.2 A Fragmentary Passage or Kingdom Hearts 0.2 is factually more than worth checking out or actually worth playing, it's actually a factually excellent game for two hours, it's more than worth checking out or playing and that's fact since it is excellent. Also IGN, retards. There are no "disparate threads" in the series and that's fact. Finally nothing about the games or series or story is "completely incomprehensible" and that's fact, you are a retard if you disagree, it's all able to be understood by anybody who has half a skull, it's all completely comprehensible and that's fact. Finally there is no logic around the series that is barely intelligible and that's fact, it's all perfectly intelligible and that's fact, even if you try and fail to disagree. You are factually wrong, I am factually right because I actually think about things, that's fact. Everything said in the review here in response to the retards at IGN as well as the retards at Anime News Network is fact. Everything else I have said in response to retardation is fact as well. Another thing was some retard, one of the staff Kyle Rogacion said a couple of factually wrong and retarded things, specifically saying "The popular meme Anime is trash is a bit harsh, but absolutely vindicated by shows like WATATEN!" Retard. The meme isn't that popular and is used ironically, secondly the meme "Anime is trash" is more than a bit harsh, it's also absolutely false. It is objectively and factually wrong. There is plenty of good anime that exist, Anime is good, that's a fact, Anime is great, that's a fact. Because there are creators who make anime and manga who care about their craft, that's a fact. Anime isn't trash. Anime is good, Anime is often more than good, facts. You could say "blank" is trash and slap it onto anything, just saying it means nothing to anybody with brain cells. It absolutely isn't vindicated by anything, not shows like WATATEN! Not anything else either retard, but your retardation is absolutely vindicated by your retarded and factually wrong claims. That retarded and factually wrong claim ignores the fact you can just as easily apply this retarded logic to anything and it would be just as wrong. Yet for all the retarded garbage this idiot (Kyle Rogacion) is, he doesn't appear to get that the "loli loving" part of the show is the joke. Humor is subjective to a degree, but don't be a retard about things as well idiot. Calling Kyle Rogacion a retard is a bit harsh perhaps, but absolutely vindicated by his retarded and factually false claims made by somebody who doesn't think before they speak. Everything I have said here in response to the Kyle Rogacion's retarded and factually wrong claims is fact. It's not a 10 and it's not a zero. It does some things well, but Frankly I miss the Older gameplay.

I only bought this for Blackout. It's ok...has good core gameplay, but the guns take getting used to, since they are all "new" to me, apart from maybe an AK...the rest are weird futuristic crap. It needs tweaking IMO

Gunfights feel like a coin flip. I find it hard to play aggressive unless I know I have someone outgunned at landing, because I prefer hardcore mode and it takes 10 hits to kill someone. There's so much luck finding the best weapons, trauma kits, armor etc involved. Vehicles are pretty good....but trucks are too slow, ATVs are twitchy. Helis fly great though.

There are so many attachments, perks, equipment, health packs, armor etc, it's a lot to keep track of for a fast paced game. But Blackout is slow compared to Multiplayer, which is absolute chaos mostly. Then toss in specialists and it's just too much stuff in a frenetic fast paced game.

Matchmaking sucks. I'm like level 19 and since level 1 I'm playing against prestige players in MP. It's like everyone's a pro. Where are the noobs? I was a top 10% player in BO1 and I feel like a noob in this game. No manual, NO DISC. Huge download day 1. I have some games where I get a 4-1 KD, but then it's reversed if I'm on a crappy team or a map I hate. I usually have no problem holding my own to at least 1-1 in any shooter game...but this feels too random often times.

Unlocking is slow, so the guns are not very even
Get rid of the combat knife....worse than MW2 with speedy stealth players running around stabbing you and don't die from bullets

**** missiles don't do damage to players, but knife or axe kills you instantly.

Guns take forever to kill someone with armor and then they can instantly heal back to 150 health hiding behind a tree for 3 seconds. Ridiculous. Just get rid of armor. Ruins the game. No benefit hardly to being first shot or tactical play. Guy who can heal faster and has better armor wins. Also PING, and CPU probably play a big part.

Games crash, but not too frequently....1 in 25-30 rounds maybe.

    The good.
Blackout is pretty fun, but frustrating most of the time
    Sound effects great (footsteps inconsistent)
Love the Blackout Map..nice variety of terrain. Looks good in 720p even on 27" and run at 90-115 FPS with RX560, Ryzen 5 2400G. After 30+ hours of play at least There are places I still haven't explored and always finding new places hidden away.

I could care less about skins, sprays, emotes and **** like that. Games too fast paced to even use them if you wanted to. Player models are too similar....and why the **** can't we go back to teams having distinct/different uniforms? Friends/Foes all look similar mostly.

Graphics are ok, but too much stuff flying in the air like birds that look like UAVs to distract.

    BAD
    Matchmaking
    Intermittent crashes/disconnects
    Coinflip gunfights
    MP only 5 v5
Spawns always suck in COD TDM/KC
    No Sabotage
Maps not suitable for all types of games
Killstreaks are meh and hard to achieve compared to prev. games
Specialists in MP are stupid. Too much non gunplay crap going on.
    OP knives
Sniping takes 2-3 shots to kill in Blackout and MP
Running/movement is smooth, but needs to be slowed for map sizes.
    Rockets not effective against players

If you're stupid enough to buy DLC, Skins and Passes, you deserve what you get. I won't be buying any of that crap and I don't understand the appeal. I wish they just kept MW1 or MW2 and just added maps/content, rather than refresh the same game every year.. Games like Insurgency have better gun play/effects. Not that CODBO4 is all bad, but they are a AAA game...they should be top notch.

    Weapons need balancing
    Armor needs balancing
Need to nerf the healing time
Maybe a Hardcore Blackout version? or just remove Armour/remove (or nerf) health I'd love to see a Multiplayer capture the flag on the blackout map 32v32 players (or at least 16v16). It would be a blast chasing a flag carrier in an ATV, Helicopter and shooting vehicle to vehicle in pairs or squads...having to cross bridges or swim the rivers would be a blast...using the tunnels etc. I don't care about SP or Zombies personally...Like I just said above, some MP options on the BIG Blackout map would be fun...even if it were TDM or Sabotage. Screw the small crappy maps. It would be good practice using weapons, perks, explosives and help learn the map for Blackout as a benefit. VERDICT Don't buy it for MP.. Blackout is 80% there though.

    Same specialists. with special weapons.

As others mention, no campaign. The "critics" try to claim that campaign has been "replaced" with the Battle Royale mode, but that's just reaching to try and justify Treyarch's decision to sit back and not bother with something new. Not sure why the critics seem to love the "Blackout/Battle Royale" mode. Treyarch/Activision butt kissing in order to stay in their good graces maybe?

You can play "single player" only if you count playing with bots, which can be good, but sometimes get stuck in the stupid bot loops - Like when one of them spawns, runs 50 meters and then sits on its ass until it gets killed or for the rest of the match.

The "battle royale" is basically a 100 person free for all, and since things are so fast, just running into someone turns into a ping/twitch contest. If you lose, that's it, either leave the match, or sit on your butt and watch someone else.

They've tuned it to be faster and more chaotic, apparently to cater to the crack-head attention span so prevalent these days. As others have mentioned, the hit boxes are way bigger, which probably contributes to the superfast TTK. The PC version thus feels like a quick and dirty console port.

The various game modes are neat, but nothing really new. The new mode "Heist", so loved by the critics is basically "Capture the Flag" meets "Assault".

Same "scorestreak" mechanic as previous black ops entries.

    Yawn.

Personally, I have more fun with objective play, but it seems to be 50-50 when you do any of the maps in multiplayer. At least half of the time, there is no teamwork, all of the players on a team simply run off to play the match like team death match. Since you can win the "objective" by just killing the other team, the actual point of the match often gets ignored.

Worth some limited fun, but I'm glad I didn't buy it, and instead got a free copy that happened to come with a CPU upgrade I was getting.

I would like to write something nice, but everything this game provides was done by somebody else and better.

I have no idea how this can get 8/10 from professionals critics. I wouldnt pay for this 60 bugs. Actually I feel to be paid I have spent 8 hours in this game. Un-installed.

If players enjoyed CoD, now they can freely look at other brands, because they will find out, CoD is simply copy paste, nothing more and nothing less.

For PC, on release, this game has more bugs than an Anthill. One would think that with a 980 TI, 16 gb ram, and a 8700k that everything would be smooth for a cod title which usually implies fairly low stress on components but alas this was definitely not the case. Every 2-3 games the game crashes. Textures flicker on everything. textures disappear, The game reset my video settings for framerate after a crash. The game runs at highly variable frame rate. The game stutters. The game freezes. The game forgets perks you were using. The netcode is either alright or completely amiss. What the hell Treyarch? Also, the game has no campaign. Zombies is the only good thing about it, and everything else is just hype and bland gameplay. Theres no skins to farm, hardly any weapons. Alot of maps are recycled making you feel like you are playing an older title black ops. This game should be worth around 20-30$ and feels like an indie developer was struggling to make it. They banked on the hype of their Battle royale mode, which honestly is extremely shallow. I'd rather stick to fornite/pubg than the fast paced mockery of a BR title that's in this game. definitely regret the purchase.

Black Ops 4 is literally Black Ops 3.5.

It's not innovating and not fun at all, here's why. 1) It's now only on the Blizzard client which means they cut the user-base more than half. Why not release it on both Blizzard and Steam? 2) $60. For $60 you get Multiplayer/competitive, Battle Royale and Zombies. Back then (years ago) we got, a Campaign, Multiplayer/competitive and Zombies. Now you pay more for less. They put all their development resources into Battle Royale so they skipped out on the Campaign.

    3) Battle Royale. 80% of players who bought Black Ops 4 are playing Blackout, the Battle Royale mode in this game. It's not a standalone game, not free or let's say $5 - 20 dollars, it's an add-on which means this tacked-on gamemode will die once the next Call of Duty comes out. Horrible business model. Did I mean it's unbalanced which it needs the standalone release for consistent updates?

    4) Remastered maps. The development team lost it's "soul" and they just recreate old maps and make them "new" in order to not make new maps. Back to the not being innovating.

    5) Operators. These "specialists" are basically Operators from Rainbow Six: Siege now. Back to the not being innovating.

    6) Server tick-rate is low which means locked FPS.

    7) Gameplay. Everyone is "squishy." You need to put 2 - 3 magazines into someone in order to kill them. Hardcore is best way to play for this type of game. If not, have fun going around a corner and someone camping it.

    7) No cross-platform, Xbox players and PlayStation players can't play with each other.

The Twitch streamer Avoidthingpuddle says it the best on the whole camping subject so find that clip on YT.

You kill 2-3 players then heal up and run into a building for cover and low and behold some dip stick in the corner with a shotty that blows you away cause you have no more armor and they have been sitting there for 5+ mins to kill someone walking into the door or window. I've played many Battle Royal games and CoD seems to have it the worse for the camping DISGUSTING. Little chubby cheek kids camping cause they can't handle conflict.

Another thing I hated about Blackout is the normal spawn of a rocket launchers gotta love dropping out of the chopper to just get rocketed from a building across the way while your fighting another player or two for the goodies. Like make rockets in supply drops only as it causes major imbalance at the start of the game. Thats why certain games have a lock out to certain weapons appearing only in Supply Drops.

Next I wanna talk about the multiplayer as a whole the combat is really **** I feel there matchmaking algorithm is to place players that are starting out with people that are pros or have 40+ hours in the game already that just man handle you every turn of the way. They have a **** Copy paste system from black ops 3 the whole operator idea is TRASH. Rainbow Six Siege just does that whole idea better.

The only real mode I found fun on this game was Heist. They really killed this game and its potential to being a game that kills PubG.

The only thing this game has on top of pubg is the performance and hardly any lag.

This is not a 10 out of 10 game so please if you are reading the 10 out of 10 reviews ignore them. This game is easily a 4-6 outta 10 if that.

The specialist system means classic equipment like grenades or the specialist equipment both have incredibly long cool-downs and you must choose between one or the other in class creation. Instead of specialist abilities being a balanced, frequent use ability that defines your character's play-style, they're instead a one or two-per-game chance at high power that can immediately be taken away if you die mid-ability. While specialists could've innovated and improved Call of Duty's dated gameplay, it doesn't -- if anything it makes it worse.

Blackout, perhaps one of the biggest selling points for this year's CoD, combines the worst parts of Call of Duty with the worst parts of Battle Royale. There can be very fun moments in Blackout, however they are surrounded by waiting in lobbies and walking/travel simulators. In gameplay, there is a huge dependence on finding the right gear, and many fights turn into "shooting each other until the person with higher damage/defense wins". The fast-paced gameplay and movement doesn't mesh very well with the slower Battle Royale style, and it is too RNG heavy to be consistently enjoyable.

And then there's Zombies. I like Zombies - some people may not enjoy the changes to perks/gobblegum/health/etc, but I've had a good time with it. But while three maps is more than what we've gotten in previous games, it is still too little to be worth buying this game at $60 if you're solely interested in Zombies, especially considering the fourth map is locked behind a $50 season pass.

And there's no campaign. Admittedly I'm not too upset by this, as CoD campaigns have been nothing better than "okay" for several years, but I know there are plenty of people who are.

So what is this game? A boring, full-priced $60 game, with a $50 all-or-nothing season pass that means if you're only interested in a part of the DLC, you have to pay the full price for everything. Oh, and there's microtransactions -- It uses Fortnite's model while still expecting you to pay $110 if you want the rest of the content. All while being on the sluggish Battle.Net launcher that seems to require an update every time you start it.

But hey, at least 1/3rd of the game is fun.

This game definitely has systems and mechanics that I will praise it for, but it is usually ruined by stupid design decisions, poor weapon balancing, changes that weren't needed, and overall inconsistent gameplay experience.

WEAPON BALANCING & TIME TO KILL:
Black Ops 4's unique health system, where you must manually regenerate health and the amount of health is increased to 150, instead of 100, means that Black Ops 4 is more of a tactical shooter instead of a gun's blazing Call of Duty, like the ones that have worked every other game and sold very well, but ok. And I don't have a problem with increasing the TTK and including manual health regen, except when the whole system is broken. The TTK in every match is so inconsistent, sometimes I'll kill someone in 5-10 bullets, sometimes 10-15, sometimes a whole mag won't kill them. I don't understand why this always seems to be an issue in Treyarch games, but my god it's horrible. And here's the next issue, the weapon balancing is horrible. See, here's the thing Treyarch, if you're going to increase the time to kill for AR's and SMG's, then don't leave snipers with the ability to 1 shot kill me in the body and tactical rifles to two burst/shot me as well. It seems that every time I'm in a gunfight with a sniper or DMR user, they'll be able to miss 90% of their shots, but because the weapons are so unbalanced, I will melt 10 bullets into them and I'll die first from the one lucky shot they get. The weapon balancing in this game is infuriating, and it just adds to the horrible TTK.

    CONNECTION & NET CODE:
As we know, Treyarch games aren't known for having good servers, hit registration, consistent ping, or not suffering lag spikes, leave that to Titanfall. But for god's sake, how have you not worked out a somewhat consistent connection on your fourth instalment of the Black Ops series Vonderhaar? Every game is plagued with lag spikes, rubberbanding and horrible hit registration (aim first, shoot first, die first). This just adds to the horribleness of the increased TTK, I am emptying 15 to 20 bullets into someone, half don't hit and the player just runs back around the corner.

    PC OPTIMISATION:
PC optimisation is rather good this time around. I'm running an i5 6600, GTX 1060, and 16GB of 2133MHz RAM, and the game can run at a consistent 100fps on high-ish settings. It runs very smooth with little major fps drops or stuttering. The PC video options are extensive and it looks like Treyarch have done a great job on the PC port.

    SPECIALISTS:
I think the specialists this time around are much better than Black Ops 3, their abilities are earned much slower and the focus has seem to have shifted to gunplay, which is great. I like how each specialist has their own unique tactical or lethal ability, which can be replaced with the basic grenades and stuns if you'd like. Except for Prophet, Prophet can f*ck right off. He is so annoying I just want him to be deleted, he's like the Mei of Black Ops 4. What was wrong with him in Black Ops 3? His robot thing that goes around tasering people is SO ANNOYING, I don't know who at Treyarch thought this would've been a good idea, but my god they were wrong. He needs a change now.

    OVERALL THOUGHTS:
I really don't think Black Ops 4 is a game worth picking up unless you find a great deal or are obsessed with battle royale. There's nothing special about this game, it's just another boring Call of Duty game made by another developer. The gameplay is the same, the weapons are the same, everything is the same or just pointless. I would avoid.

This is my first time playing CoD. Having heard positive opinions from streamers and watched some of them play, I figured I might give the game a try. I have very limited experience in online FPS shooters, so I was curious how well does the game play and if I will I be able to compete. I spent a dozen hours playing the game's different modes.

First of all, there is no single player, like most people have noted. That means your experience in this game will be limited to playing with and against others. I was OK with that, but in such situations I expect excellence in how the game does its multiplayer. Sadly, the game fails miserably.

As a new player I was hoping to be eased into the game, play with others my or similar level, and get adequate training against bots, etc. None of this happened.
The first few games were OK - I expected to under-perform, but as I got more and more into the game's mechanics, I realized how unpolished the entire experience is. Guns and characters are unbalanced, plain and simple. Some simply mow down enemies almost regardless of how far away they are, while some are useless and pretty terrible. It would be OK if I could get all the guns and mods immediately, but as lvl1, you have access to only a basic set of weapons. You just gotta play "like you have a pair" - as the game's commentator puts it, and get repeatedly mowed down by people 50 levels above you to start experimenting with other weapon setups. And while some of these people acquired some aim and tactical skill and will easily outplay you, some will just hold LMB and let ridiculous spray of their weapons take care of you without bothering to even follow you with their cross-hair. Also, some bullets round corners. Don't ask me how - I don't lag and the game runs smoothly on my hardware, so it defies reason.
Also, don't get me started on stun grenades and explosives.

The maps are OK if a bit dull. Most of them have very similar design so don't expect extreme variety.

Character movements and animation are smooth and the game's controls are intuitive, albeit a bit more complex than what I'm used to.

The UI is a bit of a mess.

Music is ... there? I can't even remember, it feels so generic. Character voices are dull, sound design is weird. You can tell there is a lot of sound and they put effort into making it cool, but the end-result is a cacophony of poor post-production, as if they wanted to stuff it all in no matter what.

And the training area for different characters, which doubles as a simple story is laughable at best, and insulting for the most part. The narrator really tries to be funny, ends up being cheesy and dry. The "story" itself is uninteresting and simplistic. They put a lot of effort into displaying vivid, mildly upsetting violence, and not enough into actually putting narrative meat on it.

I liked how complex the zombies mode could be but by the time I got to it, I was fed up with the entire experience.

I will not debate the game's price - it's a AAA game and you get a few modes, maps, and toys for that. It is unacceptable for me though, that for a game focusing only on multiplayer, it does it so poorly. It's simply not enjoyable.

It's flashy at first glance, designed to impress and draw you in but, ultimately, it feels empty and disappointing unless you are ready to spend more money to go "all in". The influence of Activision's bottom line is apparent in this game to the point that it distracts, which is a shame, because the shell of this thing is still just as promisingly solid as it was with Black Ops 2.

The Multiplayer game play is solidly “Black Ops”. You spawn, shoot, progress, and repeat, which is as rewarding as it has ever been, for better or worse. Each level of progression gained grants you a new toy to equip and play with and each new toy typically has different attachments to earn, as has been the norm with CODs since time immemorial. As in other Black Ops titles, one can "Prestige" their player level and gear, trading off the minor inconvenience of having to unlock everything again with the benefits of unique identity markers, a permanent unlock token, and unspoken bragging rights. On a side note for weapon progression: The Operator Mod feature, new to the Black Ops series, allows the player to modify a weapon in ways that change its fundamental performance, sometimes to its benefit but also, sometimes, to its detriment. Barring balancing issues, this feature has a lot of potential and should be considered a "keeper" for the series going forward. It keeps weapons that may have started to grow stale a little more “fresh”.

In addition to Multiplayer, the Blackout and Zombies modes are satisfyingly robust for what they are. Very little change is needed to make these formulas work.
The multiple Zombies scenarios are interesting, if not a little convoluted, and I can see myself trying to puzzle them out for many months to come, most likely eventually caving in and looking up strats on youtube. One important note on Zombies: If possible, ensure you have a good group of online friends that will talk to you. Playing solo and silent is a singularly depressing experience.

Blackout is what probably drew a lot of the pre-sale numbers we're seeing and some of that hype is well-deserved. The map is solid and the movement around it feels properly athletic. Even out in the dangerous open, you don’t feel completely vulnerable. Aside from some minor item spawn problems, a typical Blackout experience is an enjoyable one, regardless of preferred BR play style. I do enjoy the inclusion of tier rewards in Blackout, since it’s really the only place you can utilize the numerous gestures (what happened to emoting on a “winner’s circle screen at the end of Multiplayer rounds, Treyarch?!?!) and sprays that seems to fill the Black Market inventory to the brim. Having played a fair bit of PUBG and Fortnight, I personally think Blackout is the best version of BR out there right now.

Alas, Activision’s gonna Activision, so those enjoyable elements predictably deliver a fleeting and hollow satisfaction when shadowed by the COMPLETELY AVOIDABLE drawbacks present in Black Ops 4.
The game still crashes regularly in all modes, usually when the action gets intense and you are fully invested in ducking, dodging, and diving. When a crash happens, all progression gained during that round is lost. Nothing is worse than making it to a top 5 situation in Blackout, specialist achievement requirements met for an unlock, 10 kills under your belt, only to suffer a dreaded “Jaded Mamba” error. It wouldn’t be as bad if we still got to keep our progression but, again, Black Ops 4 fails to meet basic expectations and leaves us wanting more.

OK, the big one. The main contention, BY FAR, I have with Black Ops 4 is the micro transaction and Black Market tier reward schemes. Regardless of what your opinion is on if the rewards are worth it, this is a clearly manipulative system designed to coerce players with more money than sense into spending to achieve higher rewards. In a free to play game, this behavior could be considered acceptable, but Black Ops 4 is not a free to play game. It is disgusting to require players to pay at least $60 for the opportunity to pay more for content that is locked behind additional pay walls.

In conclusion, Activision, you've done it again. You've taken a solid game play experience with a rich history and continued to chip away at everything people love about it in an attempt to make more money. I hope it comes back to bite you in the ass one day.

another problem is the high amount of bugs, glitches and crashes. even now, 4 weeks after release its a technical mess. every second or third lobby kicks you out of the loading screen while loading in to a map. in 6 hours you can also expect a total game crash fatal eror 451518515 or something like that. weapon camos are not attached to your weapons etc. hit detection sometimes feels off, way more than in every previous cods that i played. optimization is ok i guess, cant rly say much because i play with a 1080 on most of the time with 140+fps, but i feel 3-4 maps are worse optimized than the rest.

one of the sadest things however is, they (treyarch) said they do pc balancing seperate from console balancing. but so far we have got all the console balancing on pc too with some small pc exclusive changes. this makes 0 sense and this makes me rly angry. and by all the problems the gamecurrently has in multiplayer, you would expect communication and discussions from the devs right? but no, there basically is no communication from them, or a dev or whatever who talks or discusses things on reddit with the community.they made 500 million dolla in the first 3 days after release, now they are in vacation or something. they promissed to make a good pc port and work more than ever on the pc version, all lies.

oh ya i almost forgot, the microtransactions. this game costs 60 euro, has a 50 euro season pass and additional microtransactions. WTF if you ask me. when the new mutiplayer maps are beeing released and you want to play them, you ahve to pay 50 euro for the pass, because you cant just buy a map pack, you have to buy the whole pass. the afforementioned microtransaction however, are basically not wiorth to buy. cosmetics and other rewards in this game are so low quality and not worth any cent.

and all of this is why this is the first cod that releases not on steam, its the same like fallout 76. these games are **** and they are scared for negative reviews because they know it.

The multiplayer audio is absolutely horrible and you need a perk that will "enhance" enemy footsteps if you want to use a feature that has always been vital in FPS games. Said perk still would be useless without the minimap actually telling you where the enemies are coming from, because the audio remains complete garbage. There are "operator" gadgets and abilities that should never have been put into the game, actually the whole operator **** thing should have stayed off of this game in the first place. The netcode is garbage and I will sometimes see people teleporting slightly ahead instead of seeing fluid motion. It's next to unplayable if you want to take this game seriously. It could be a fun game, but they managed to not fix the frustrating **** that plagued every COD game since Modern Warfare 1. And they're left with a piece of **** game that will tire out most people in just a few months, or in my case, weeks. A pretty nearly average first person shooter, the base gameplay is what you come to expect from Call of Duty, and is thus, fine, the problems come from the numerous systems that hold it back. After I decided to stop pretending Overwatch was fun, I needed a new FPS in my life, so I figured I would give BO4 a shot. My views are somewhat tinted by my memories of MW2, the last CoD game IA pretty nearly average first person shooter, the base gameplay is what you come to expect from Call of Duty, and is thus, fine, the problems come from the numerous systems that hold it back. After I decided to stop pretending Overwatch was fun, I needed a new FPS in my life, so I figured I would give BO4 a shot. My views are somewhat tinted by my memories of MW2, the last CoD game I played, but my impressions overall have been unfavorable in comparison.

My first problem is the lack of weapon variety, there is a grand total of 2 shotguns, compared the the numerous knock-off brand assault rifles. Likewise, there are 3 pistols, and only a single launcher. There are nearly as many assault rifles as there are secondary weapons total.

The second problem I had was the wide disparity between effectiveness of different types of weapons. Shotguns feel absolutely pitiful, with the more powerful of the two barely being a reliable two shot kill. This is also a pump action shotgun, mind you. There is a pretty good chance that any time I try to kill somebody with a shotgun, if I ambush them and get a shot off, they will have time to locate me, turn to shoot at me, and kill me before I finish pumping the shotgun. Pistols are even worse, with the basic "strife" pistol being useless as anything more than something to attach a knife to, and even then, you are frankly just better off with just the knife, as it will cost you fewer points in the game's budget system and be just as effective.

The third problem is the absolutely atrocious create-a-class system. It has a kind of "budget" system, which is all fine and dandy, but the problem is that the normalized prices of everything costing a point is utter nonsense. I feel like my elite black ops soldier is less well armed than the random mooks you played as in MW2 multiplayer. Why does my pistol cost the same number of points as an assault rifle? Why does a -knife- cost the same amount of points as an assault rifle? There simply needs to be a more reasonable approach to how items are costed in points. Due to the nature of the game, you are highly incentivized to put all of your points into making one really good weapon, therefor you are encouraged to use mostly just jack-of-all-ranges weapons like assault rifles and smgs. God help you if you want to use a secondary weapon and have it actually be useful. To make a shotgun or a pistol useful you have to invest so many points into it that you don't even get the full allotment of perks! Or otherwise if you want to use a weapon like a sniper rifle, which really needs a usable secondary weapon to go with it, your best bet is honestly just to go pick up a dead person's dropped weapon.

The next problem is the egregious monetization problems, but that is pretty much just par for course for activision, and we all know how **** it is so I won't waste your time with that. In its defense, however; I was able to purchase the game cheaper by forgoing the zombie mode that I don't care about. It is a shame I couldn't buy it even cheaper and lose the battle royale mode I likewise care nothing for.

My last problem is the operators. One of the reasons I wanted to get away from games like Overwatch is so that I didn't have to deal with inane character abilities that don't make sense, and make the game worse. Why does the character with the one shot pistol not simply use it all the time? Why do they have to wait an arbitrary amount of time before using it? Before someone points out "it is for game balance," yeah, no **** I get that, it was a joke. Even besides that fact that it makes no sense in universe, it creates that same kind of problem that Overwatch has where you have gameplay designed around these "ults" if you will, that are meant to net you a ton of cheap, free kills. It doesn't feel good to be on the receiving end where sometimes you will just die because one of the opponents just happens to be playing the right character to screw you over particularly.

Slightly less of a problem is the maps, I basically only ever want to play on about two or three of the maps, and if I queue up and get put in line for one of the other maps, I usually just leave unless I get forced into a game in progress. At least there is no punishment for leaving (at least that I know about.)

The lack of a story mode is somewhat disappointing, even if they weren't what you got the game for, it was a nice little bonus.

All in all, it is a bit of a disappointment, I pretty much was just expecting absolutely baseline, no frills attached Call of Duty, and I somehow got less than that. the gameplay is still there, but the weapons are samey and boring in one department, and lack all kinds of variety in others. It is hard to play weird off-the-wall strategies that appeal to me, and you can really only play the standard assault rifle style builds

Its more than obvious that Treyarch just want to get blackout out to everyone, so they can pay 60$ for the game, afterwards then totally rape everyone with skins and microtransactions.
They removed singleplayer, they **** over the core players and they opted to cash in on the newest hype and ruined their franchise in the process.

Everything feels half assed and its all because they clearly have focused 99% on blackout, then copied what they could from Black Ops 3 in terms of operators and art. New maps are HORRIBLE, worst in the series for the most of them, the reused old maps are clearly better than any of the new ones - its lazy to add them instead of making more maps - but its needed since they are a totally difference quality.

Would I recommend it to anyone?
Not in a million years, menus are stupid, reporting system dont work unless youre in a lobby with the offender - recently met players are a **** half of the names dont show and the rest you cant see if you played them today or 3 weeks ago.

Add on top of that the Black Ops pass, because Activision would happily break into your house and nick your TV if it was legal and this is a disaster. There is nothing this game offers that Titanfall 2 doesn't offer better, more polished and at a third of the price. Treyarch's latest blunder is a waste of money for the consumer and nothing else and you'd do well to steer clear of it, when alternatives exist.

    2. Specialist NEED TO GO. I see what route they are trying to take and it's not working at all. I bought this game because I want to play casually but this is far worse than Destiny 2 quickplay. I am tired of dying by stuff that is literally out of my control.

    3. Spawns are the worse thing in this game. You spawn and then the enemy spawns right behind you. This happens even in Free for All

    4. Servers are just trash. I check my on speedtest.net to see if I was crazy but my ping is a 23. WHY IS THE GAME LAGGING SO MUCH IF I HAVE GOOD CONNECTION.

    5. Hit registration is a F-ing joke. The first 5 bullets don't even count and then it's starts to register but it's already to late because the other kills you. And the worst part about this is that most of the time, I shoot first.

    6. Leveling in this game is so damn slow. If I wanted to level up slowly, I would play Destiny 2. The worst part about this is, The best guns are locked behind this slow ass leveling.

    7. The weapons in this game suck. I can say that in almost every call of duty game the weapons in the game went from good to better to great. The guns suck. Even Black ops 3 weapons were good and everybody was on the same conscious level that BO3 was bad.

Overall this game sucks. I wish I could get my money back but I can't. I spent 2 days playing to see if i was crazy but I am not. I have never played a call of duty game that stressed me out more than Dark Souls and this did. I literally died in this game by so much non sense that my KD is a .50. Zombies, multiplayer and battle royale. Black Ops 4 is whole package. With great blackout map, brutal and honest action, it will put all competition in danger. Standard multiplayer suffers from old issues, but is fun enough to guarantee tons of fun. Zombies are brilliant and refreshed with new Rush mod. Lack of single player campaign still hurts though.

It was a risky decision to drop the single player campaign and focus on multiplayer, including battle royale, which seemed like a cynical attempt to jump on the bandwagon. I’m a bit surprised to say that Treyarch did truly great. Black Ops 4 is one of the best online games of 2018 – its shooting mechanics are wonderful, Blackout (the aforementioned take on battle royale) is top-notch and the Zombies mode drifts towards... action RPG.
