    I love and hate this game. It has a very slow learning curve, however even after half way through the first chapter, when you learn the mechanics it starts to get very enjoyable.
    It reminds me of playing Zork from too long ago .It is not like playing a modern game that holds your hand. I appreciate that.

    If you keep at it and learn the mechanics and use the info you have, it is not I have found it to overly difficult but it is not a cakewalk. . It takes a lot of trial and error to find the right way to get where you need to and still survive. Just be sure to save frequently otherwise you are in the tank.
    Isn't that the point of a survival game?
    I think it is balanced well. Others may disagree, however this type of game rewards those that can deal with a ton of failure when first starting out.
    If you want to conquer this game it will take a lot of time to find optimal paths to the places you want to go.
    At the beginning it is a grind, to be sure. It starts very slowly as you learn how to live in this inhospitable environment.
    Stay with it. It keeps getting better..

    This is a super fun game with a great sense of humor, it doesn't take itself to seriously. The game gameplay and game mechanics is super fun and addictive and the always remaining threath of running out of air is one of the best designed threats in a video game. The threat is never hidden.

    A fun space "survival" game, loaded with humour and solid immersion.

    It takes a number of cues from Subnautica, but with a more jovial attitude, and less scary monsters.

    A great example of the survival genre with awesome humor. I really like the retro-futurism aesthetics, I think they nailed it style-wise. The graphics are great too. I really wish the narrator would speak a little slower, but I got used to it after a while.

    That's a very nice and hopefully game when ill played at the start and it has remained so until now, a very simple game with black humor, which does not exceed the boundaries of reason, but at the same time has a very "black" meaning.

    A fun space adventure with survival elements. The game isn't perfect, but it's not bad. The score is above average. It's great that it works well on slower computers.

    A good game that has only gotten better over time. If the team had been bigger, as well as the budget of the game, it would have been even cooler.

    The slavic "humor" probably won't be for everyone, but I can see people getting annoyed that the game doesn't take itself very seriously at all.

    For me however, that was definitely part of the charm. It's a survival game, but for the life of me I have no idea why the food or water meters were included. You find more than you'll ever need constantly.     Someone called it 'subnautica in space' and while that's somewhat accurate as far as gameplay goes, the ORIGINAL (subnautica 2 is garbage) subnautica had a much more compelling story, I think.    … Expand

    It's quite polished and free of bugs. Visually nice and with good gameplay and controls, that's especially appreciated in a full 360º free movement game.
    The story and its humour is so good. Most of the astronauts deaths you found out there are just hilarious. Lots of materials, tools, spacesuits, vehicles, base modules, ... It has a few    A fun and well made space survival game.

    Lots of materials, tools, spacesuits, vehicles, base modules, ...

    It has a few annoying mechanics maybe, like the tools that brake too fast or the things you need to hit so many times. There are also super important resources and blueprints that are so hidden that you easily miss them. Then you need to search in every rock and metal piece to be sure you're not missing anything important.
    All this mechanics seem to be a way to extend the game in a boring way. Specially in the last chapter where survival, space exploration and base management suddenly changes to long walks back and forth and boss "fights" where you don't need to fight at all.

    In top of that there's a super annoying spacesuit AI making jokes every single minute of the game. Most of the jokes are great and I enjoyed them for a while... but after several hours it's annoying as hell.

    Overall a super enjoyable and fun to play game. If they just changed a couple of things it could easily be a 10.    … Expand

    In a nutshell, Breathedge is a Subnautica in space. While it’s not as good as the Unknown Worlds Entertainment’s masterpiece and would benefit from a better story, it’s still a solid survival game, real pretty and spiced up with absurd humor. [05/2021, p.58]

    While there’s some comfort in the repetitive routine of mining and seeking refuge back in your space liner, as you gradually chip away at your objectives, its endless gags and space jokes do get tedious very quickly.

    Awesome when it’s about visual interface and immersion, but it has several design mistakes that slow down game’s rate. Luckily, losing oneself floating through the space it’s worth it while we unlock extras. It’s also a video game with many doses of humor and easy to keep players hooked to the main plot.
