A wonderful story drawing from Germanic and northern folklore. It blends an innocent fairy-tale with actual horror and some completely bizarre sights. The game is short, but it manages to cram in a lot of ideas and make it all into a feast for the eyes. If only the gameplay itself reached the same lofty standards…

Bramble: The Mountain King is worth a single playthrough, but the lack of any real depth to its gameplay makes it a difficult recommendation to those that might not be drawn in by its gorgeous visuals and atmosphere.

A triumph of sinister mood let down by archaic puzzle design.

    Thoughts-
However, if you can set aside your expectations of a “game”, you might find Bramble: The Mountain King to be quite charming. It isn’t a particularly long game, and while it has a number of gameplay mechanics, none of them get particularly deep. I don’t think I’ll ever find myself revisiting Bramble: The Mountain King years down the line, however, since there really isn’t all that much to revisit. The story is simple, and while the visuals and atmosphere are all great, there’s nothing in its gameplay that draws me in.

Trial and error: The Game, trying to out-nightmare Little Nightmares not knowing anything about restraint and pacing.
