Oct 16, 2014Gearbox's transparent attempt at exploiting the consumer by charging full price for a lazy DLC reflects poorly on the gaming industry. The gameplay is rehashed and the humor is infantile. Avoid supporting this trash.

Oct 15, 2014Cashgrab Of The Year. Boring new heroes, silly storyline, repetitive quests. Looks more like DLC. And don't forget to buy Season Pass to buy DLC for DLC!
4 only for Claptrap jokes. -

Oct 14, 2014A glorified expansion pack. Randy Pitchford has stolen enough of my money between Duke Nukem Forever, Aliens Colonial Marines, and this crap. Save your money for a title from a studio that cares about their customers.

Oct 15, 2014Awful "meme" writing, SJW propaganda, bugs, crappy story and level design. Just a lazy cash grab. Move along people, don't give Gearbox more of your money.

Jan 6, 2015Last time I ever play a game created by Australians. So many glitches, so many reasons to make me delete my character and to uninstall the game. Complete bullcrap of a game. I'm not even going to bother beating this game, wasted my money on the season pass expecting much more than what I payed for.

Nov 15, 2014A short overpriced DLC masquerading as a full game. You're getting literally 1/3 the content of previous Borderlands games and paying a higher price than you did for the real full games. The season pass is also a ripoff, only giving buyers 1 additional campaign when previous season passes gave 4 campaigns each. It's almost as if they're intentionally slapping Borderlands fans in the face.
-
Oct 22, 2014If you like Borderlands franchise, this game is good. However, the price tag for something that could have easily been a DLC is a show stopper. Same graphics, same gameplay, new classes and a cheesy story...that's all you get. I will instead continue enjoying BL2 as I haven't tried all classes yet.

Oct 19, 2014Do yourself a favor and play some bl2 instead. download a DLC for 1/10 the cost and you'll get more playable content out of it. This game is a joke.
-
Dec 28, 2014I will keep this simple, if you love Borderlands 2 game play this is a success, if you can't imagine Borderlands 2 without the humor then this game is a complete failure. I loved Borderlands and Borderlands 2 is a top 3 game for me, the pre-sequel is a complete miss because of its lack of any humor for me.
-
Nov 18, 2014Not as good as Borderlands 2. I get the Aussie angle but the accents are exaggerated and annoying. The jetpack platforming is also annoying. The whole oxygen mechanic is frustrating not innovative. The humor is nonexistent. It feels repetitive. Level design is uninspired. On the plus side, leveling up seems to be quicker. That's about it. Instead of buying this, get the DLC for Borderlands 2.

Oct 17, 2014Unjustifiable to charge the full price of a AAA title for what amounts to a mod of a years old game. Small dev team churned this out in months. Most $60 AAA titles take large dev teams over a yea and sometimes several years and millions to produce. This could have been turned out on a shoestring budget in months highest cost being voice acting.

Oct 19, 2014After playing Borderlands 2 and all of it's DLCs multiple times the series is just getting boring now. They need to take 3-4 years to work on a proper sequel and think of ways to freshen it up.

Dec 9, 2014It's fun and can keep you playeing for hours
but characters aren't interesting
end-game raid are not balanced(low legendary drop)
I cannot say if it's worth 60bucks or not -
Nov 17, 2014bland, boring, unbalanced characters (nisha and jack is broken as hell). Can't stand the prevalent, annoying aussie accent. Minus points for not having more MALE playable characters. Nobody wants to play as some broken AIMBOT girl

Oct 19, 2014Talk about ruining the game completely!! They took something that was great, and destroyed it. What I liked about the previous games was the completely politically incorrect humor and language. This game, is polite and, void of nasty language. The feel of it seems more sluggish and slow as well. I did not enjoy it at all, in fact, it annoyed me!!

Aug 30, 2015This game is just plain POOR...loved the first two, but this game is just a cash grab...I'm not even going to finish it...
Save your money...!!
Such a huge disappointment after playing the first two games.
Just a quick slapped together game to cash in on the original popularity -
Apr 3, 2019I do not support bribing for store exclusivities. Avoid at all costs. Thank you.

May 21, 2016pro- the name [Borderlands]
con- nothing new. rehashed EVERYTHING.
stink of laziness
could have been a DLC for Borderlands 2
ps. i liked the Borderlands 2 Boss fights. because most of the fights was 1v1. but this **** pours annoying minions. they can't harm me but , that makes the boss a bit.........cheap. -
Dec 16, 2017Extremely poor sequel for a lot of reasons. On top of the poor game design, there is also many issues: crashes, accidental invisible walls, player getting stuck. Terrible.

Apr 28, 2020This should have been a DLC for one of the previous installments. And it would have been bad at that, too.
-
Jul 14, 2022Way to short, just when we thought it was getting good (the last boss) finally after hours of slow tedious missions and boring story it was over. The loot is uninteresting compared to Bl2 and 3 the zones are annoying at best and given the option to turn off the low gravity i would hands down.
Felt like a bad dlc. -

Jun 22, 2021The game is unbelievable boring. Well honestly every BL game and every loot shooter is boring, but pre-sequel is definitly worst one.
Slow motion, low gravity, oxigen leaking, pointless characters what screaming "Hey gamer loot at me, i'm big talking sht".
Devs just put every annoying thing in this game and said "It's funny game!". Hell no. -
Jul 12, 2021This game is so boring. Map is **** I can't go ı want to anywhere. Car using is a very difficult. Thank you Epic Games. I don't pay this game. All of this game is ****

CD-ActionDec 13, 2014Derivative, but also colorful, absurd and fun. If you played one Borderlands game, you played them all. [Dec 2014, p.56]
-
Nov 25, 2014There isn’t a AAA game out there that doesn’t exist to make money, but Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel stumps for dollars in a brazenly insipid way. It’s a paint-by-numbers effort, almost from top to bottom.
-
Game World Navigator MagazineNov 25, 20142K delivered exactly what it promised: a derivative game which nevertheless deserves to be completed in single-player for the story. And then maybe one more play through with a friend or two, just to shoot stuff and kid around, before setting Pre-Sequel aside until DLCs come. Just as it always is with Borderlands. [Dec 2014, p.64]
