It's a 3D platformer, which are notoriously hard to create.
Just a bad idea done okay'ly.

Excelente plataforma en 3D. Fuertemente inspirado en Zelda, Dark Souls y Hollow knight... el punto débil del juego es no tener personalidad propia. El combate no es del todo satisfactorio pero brilla en todo su esplendor en el plataformeo.

The controls are atrocious and the game doesn't do anything to give you any sense of purpose or direction.
It feels like a college-level project in game design that barely got the passing grade.
There's literally no reason for anyone to play this game ever.

3D precision platformers are hard to do... Blue Fire nearly nails it -- the controls are tight, the speed is palpable, and when the "jump / wall jump / dash / another wall jump / double jump / double dash / wall run" combos work, it is an incredible rush. But for each great set of moves you pull off, a stupid death follows, usually when the perspective (or the camera) fools you and you3D precision platformers are hard to do... At least the purest platform sections (the so called "voids") are semi-optional; they provide you with upgrade slots, but there are enough not-too-hard ones anyway. There are also a few dungeons with lots of platforming, and a couple of such challenges are timed, but I found the timing fairly relaxed if you planned out your path beforehand, and these designs are actually the smartest part of the game.

There is also a bit of functional fighting, but it feels a bit underdeveloped -- after a while, I found more productive just to avoid enemies instead. Boss fights, in particular, are serviceable but uninspired, relying more or less on the same tactics for each one.

The second half of the game feels a bit rushed, as if the developers ran out of resources to produce good dungeons. The whole world hints at something greater (the whole game has this Hollow Knight vibe, a sense of sadness that permeates a doomed world), but at the end there are too few characters and their stories feel incomplete.

I am also pretty sure the music was inspired by Hollow Knight's moody soundtrack, and this is actually a high point -- the calmer tunes are very nice, if not as memorable. Graphics are nice enough, if you enjoy the stylized minimalistic style, and some of the architecture is impressively vertical (especially when you realize you will have to somehow climb that whole darn thing).

At the end of the day, despite a few shortcoming, I had fun with the game, and I still remember those cool double dashes and wall jumps in 3D.

    Score: 77/100.

I will not say anything about the graphics, because the game is very budget. But I did not expect cool graphics from this game. But I was hoping for an interesting gameplay or plot. But there is none of this - everything is very monotonous and boring.

If you ever wanted a 3D-Platformer with Zelda dungeons and combat which implements elements from Hollow Knight, Dark Souls and A Hat in Time then this game is for you. Enough said.
This game was clearly made with passion and I can't wait for the next thing from this studio.
Pros: - Great interconnected world and level design - Fluid platforming and combat gameplay - Always fair

    Pros:
    - Great interconnected world and level design
    - Fluid platforming and combat gameplay
    - Always fair (your deaths are always your own fault)
    - Very hard bonus levels... still amazed I got through all of them.
    - Good game length (about 10 hours when completing the story, all sidequests, getting all items and completing the dlc)
    - Multiple difficulty options, which actually change the leveldesign
    - Secret rubber ducks :)

    Cons:
    - This game is very bad to speedrun because of a load of small problems (If ROBI Studios reads this, then PLEASE add an options to skip ALL cutscenes!)
    - Limited replayability (the difficulty options and perma-death mode are nice, but some challenge modes, a cheat menu, boss rush or a new game plus would be greatly appreciated)
    - The bloom and glaring whiteness of the voids can be too much at times. On a bright screen in the dark they hurt your eyes

My first impression was great and early on I was sure this pretty action adventure game will score higher. Then the difficulty level rose drastically and allied itself with frustratingly imprecise controls to murder all the fun. [04/2021, p.62]

Blue Fire is a fun and surprisingly engaging game, and fans of the 3D platforming genre will enjoy the challenges it provides. Adventure and open-world exploration fans, on the other hand, might not find the repetition that endearing. If all you want is to hop and dash around, smash objects, and swing your ridiculously oversized swords, Blue Fire is worth a try.

This challenging battle platformer feels like a three-dimensional Hollow Knight spiced up with Zelda and Souls. That may sound great, but the lackluster art-design, some frustrating deficits as well as bugs hold Blue Fire back.
