A hard one to review. A lot of work has been put into this game and it shows. The overall atmosphere is very good. Yet it suffers from some silly mistakes such as hidden hot spots, sudden deaths, badly designed puzzles. For every impressive scenery, there is a bad game mechanic. It constantly has you wondering if you love it or hate it. I think it is a good adventure game that is set backA hard one to review. A lot of work has been put into this game and it shows. Best solution imo is to use a walkthrough for whenever you get stuck and you will enjoy Black Mirror 2.

In short: It is the kind of game that's stars slow and becomes better after a while. For me it is too boring at the beginning and the later parts cant convince me to give a better overall rating. For me it is too boring at the beginning and the later parts cant convince me to give a better overall rating. Longer version: It is the sequel to Black Mirror which was one of the best point and click adventures in the last few years for me. I rated it with 9/10. The sequel has better graphics, soundtrack and good voice actors. The puzzles are good with some exceptions. It is the story of Darren Michaels as his quite and simple life turns for a much more dark and twisted fate. The story starts really weak and uninteresting and I had to force me too continue. It gets better after some time. Then the story and atmosphere are really good. However it was not enough to satisfy my expectations and I saw some twists from miles away. I must however praise the dialog and humor. Overall even if I sound too negative this is a good game but the slow start tainted the experience for me. I would recommend the game still because it is really cheap and often in a bundle with Black Mirror 1 and 3. If you can endure the first 40 to 60 minutes it is enjoyable. Expand

  1. Quite frankly, now that the point and click genre seems to be reborn again, with quality titles like the Sam & Max series or indie gems like Machinarium, it's hard to be lenient. Even though it has a decent length, and could satisfy some casual gamers, I can't really recommend this dull and soporific Black Mirror 2 to anybody. Even to be mean.
  2. With too much suggestion to solve the enigma and a narration not so evocative, Black Mirror 2 tells a story without rhythm and rubs out the challenge.
  3. Another adventure from Germany with a fascinating story and great atmosphere, both off the beaten track of the usual fantasy and historical backgrounds. It may even be the best modern crime and horror adventure, but why did the developers feel the need for lame mini-puzzles and an open end?
