A Great game, a worthy successor to the original, and better than Bioshock 2. I love the detail and love that went in to this. You can even look up a lot of the names of things and see that they picked them because of real life historical influences and there are many parallels to real history here. There are supposedly alternate endings but I have only seen one.

The game is just plain beautiful and it's accompanied by an amazing soundtrack. The characters are perfectly done. Elizabeth feels like a real, living and breathing human being with her own emotions and thoughts. The way she interacts with the main character and the world around her is something I have never seen anything in a video game. From she dances with people of Columbia as she feels freedom for the first time in her life to when she runs scared away from Booker when she first sees him kill people, her character feels so real, so human. She will accompany you throughout the majority of the game but when she doesn't you will feel lonely and nervous without her. She is never a burden, and she can be a life saver in combat as she tosses you health and salts (which are basically this game's mana system). She will also occasionaly toss you coins, or open locked doors for you, provided you found enough lockpicks for it. The gameplay is fast and fun. You will be frantically shooting down people from the skylines and then you jump down and start throwing explosive fire grenades all while Elizabeth is running around the battlefield to provide you for supplies. All of this culminates in a mindblowing, spectacular ending, which may leave you hanging with some questions if you have not been following the story closely, but if you have, it will provide a satisfying, sensible conculsion to what is probably the best story ever told in gaming. Buy this game, play it and love it. Expand

I enjoyed this game and right now I'm half-way through my second play through on 1999 mode. The story is decent at best with it's take on multiverse theory and all but the way it is told is quite good since it isn't spoon fed to you and you can carefully observe the world/narrative to make sense of a lot of things. A second play through is pretty much warranted since you can notice a lot of subtleties after finishing the game once with the ending. The combat is fun and engaging but feels a step down from Bioshock 1&2. Lack of proper hacking or a system of that sort, gun variety is limited(no aesthetic changes when upgraded too) and absolutely boring vigors which sometimes make the combat too easy. Another thing which makes it easy is Liz lobbing Salts and Health at you, they should really increase the cooldown on that through a patch. Shooting mechanics and AI are not bad but enemies feel like sponges most of the times. Skyline combat is pretty fun but it's severely limited which is a downer. No regenerating health is a great additive.

Overall superb game and I recommend experiencing it but Half-life 2 is better.

Hell, 1 negative vote is too much for this great game. I just finished after about 10 hours of gameplay (I do all of the optional missions explore as much as possible). What it all comes down to is the game is fun. The combat, trying out different vigors, using powers to activate turrets, or flying around on the rails while guys are chasing you... it's just damn fun!

If I wanted to nitpick, I'd say there are some slow spots in the game, and I was a little annoyed when some of the later levels were a bit recycled. But other than that, the game was great. I can see myself playing through again some time in the future.

This is a beautiful game in an artistic way (1440p on ultra helps!). But the compelling storyline, the atmosphere, sounds, music... all come together to make a wonderful game.

I honestly think if you rated this game below a 6 there is something wrong with you or you expect WAY too much from a game. It's obvious from playing the game through that the development team put a LOT of work into this game and it shows. I really don't know how much more you could expect from a game. To call this game mediocre is just plain criminal.

Bioshock Infinite is a god game with a fantastic ending. My jaw was literally on the floor after i completed this game. The game mechanics were great for console and even more for PC. Elizabeth's AI was one of the best i have ever played with. Not once was she ever in my way. Great job to Ken Levine and his team i Definitely am thinking game of the year for this contender!

Perfect games are nearly impossible to make, yet there are close ones. BioShock Infinite is an example. You rush campaign worthy of 14 hours of gameplay and at the end you will be thinking 'wow' and you will probably be left with still a lot of questions unanswerd. But this makes BioShock such a good game: it let's you think about all sorts of things, like racism and religion. BioShockPerfect games are nearly impossible to make, yet there are close ones. But this makes BioShock such a good game: it let's you think about all sorts of things, like racism and religion. BioShock Infinite provides the best setting and storytelling that has ever been told in a First-Person Shooter. First of all: the graphics. The Unreal Engine is holding its reputation as one of the best gaming engines and because of this the graphics of BioShock Infinite are so great. Columbia (with the help of this fantastic engine) is living. The flying city looks so great, that it even blows the undersea world of Rapture away. As I told you before about the setting and story from BioShock, you may want to know that the storytelling and setting are the strongest parts of this game, oh yeah and also Elizabeth. Elizabeth is the girl Booker DeWitt needs to save from Columbia. As you would think at first, it might be an escort mission, you're wrong. Elizabeth is such a great AI, that it almost lives like every other person. She is almost perfect. Because of her active role in BioShock Infinite, the game gets a lot better. She's not just the tip of the cake, she is the cake (and not a lie). BioShock is well known for its orginality. As from BioShock, and BioShock 2, you can also use magic powers in battle to overcome your enemy. Yet instead of plasmids (like in the original games) you now have Vigors, which is also really fun to use. My favourite has got to be the crows of death, where you send a group of deathly crows to your enemy and they eat them alive. Another great point about BioShock is the tool you use for travelling. I'm talking about the grapple hook. With this you can clinch on to rails and skydive your way trough Columbia. With this taking in mind, the grapple hook and the skydiving also give enough action to make the fire fights in the game a lot better. You're not the only one who can clinch on to those rails: your enemy are also good at that. With all the positives said, there has got to be something wrong about this game. Yet there is very few to mention. The only thing I may say are the fire fights. Sure they are fun as hell, but they changed. It's not like the first Bioshock or Bioshock 2. You mostly will use guns, instead of vigors. The Vigors feel less powerful then the Plasmids in the original BioShock. Yet this doesn't effect the overall BioShock experience. With this taken in mind, you shouldn't read my review. You're wasting your time. Because you could have taken your time to go to the nearest game shop and bought BioShock Infinite. This game is a must own! Expand

The game play is very solid and the story is quite something that is not like any other story to experience. It changes the ways how games are told and experienced for developers to take notes for future games to have the bar this high. The characters and writing are quite spectacular to where it feels very emotional, it takes you to another world to explore and feel very involved. It starts with a simple concept of a man has to save a girl from a tower to take his debt away. It starts to evolve from there to tell a extraordinary story where the twists and turns feel very exciting. The game play feels very open and unique with weapons and the newly named plasmids to vigors. The art direction was craft-fully created to make the world feel alive and like it's there. It was a perfect way to end the current console generation with the swan song of the generation, I highly recommend it to gamers who want to see have a great story. Expand

Bioshock (one) was a masterpiece that would be extremely hard to follow, let alone top. Well, not only does Bioshock: Infinite out do it's predecessor, but it is just as worthy on it's own merit of standing up there with the greats. Never have I been so invested in a game's story, characters, and environment than I was while journeying through Infinite. It is a testament to the power of games as a storytelling medium the tale Irrational weaves throughout the experience is one that can only be told with in an interactive way; there has to be agency for it to work. The astonishing reason behind this triumph lies with the fact that gameplay and story work together it's not just violence for the sake of violence and shooting for the sake of shooting, the environment and story contextualize all of it. Each enemy you distinguish has a weight on your conscience as Elizabeth questions your actions....and you question your own, since you are persecuted as an "Anti-Christ" like figure upon reaching Columbia. I found I was asking myself "am I really the bad guy here...I am bringing about a lot of wanton death destruction." But yet all the while I justified my actions because I cared about Elizabeth and wanted to protect her and she represents not only an amazing achievement in technical design but character design as well. There is so much thought and care put into every facet of this games design that it is flabbergasting. I would need a lot more than 5000 characters to relate it all with text.

Here is all you really need to know:

The ending will have your jaw on the floor, the ride getting there will leave you giddy for more, walking through Columbia will leave you awe inspired. Bioshock: Infinite not only reinvigorates a stale genre but a stale industry in many regards. This a boon given to gamers...don't miss out on it.

Cool atmosphere with this game but at it's core it is just another shooter. Walk into an area and trigger an attack, rinse and repeat. So they decided to raise the difficulty on the Handymen because they are references are to Big Daddy but the problem is the Handymen are too overpowered. Usually causing death several times per Handyman. Now these may be issued but they don't hold the game back for some other reasons. This game has amazing design, combat, storytelling. and most of all it's presentation. These would easily make up for the downers in this game and this would easily make this game unique and a perfect game. It's designed from the Bioshock continuation and it had so much detail to it. So many tiny details that make it a great improvement. It had an extremely good ending and very realistic and life like characters. The amazing graphics, the beautiful scenery, and most of all a unique thing that no game has done before: the sky-lining sections and the good variety of enemies. The enemy AI comes across as limited, with enemies rarely using cover, charging right into your sights on most occasions, vigour's/plasmids seem to lack oomph and are rather unbalanced, you'll soon find that only 1 or 2 are really worth using. The same can be said for the weapons. As with all the previous BioShocks, death is a momentary setback, before you respawn next to the half dead creatures you were previously fighting, which cheapens the whole affair.

Overall, a solid game that's been overhyped to godly proportions. Do yourself a favour and grab a copy when the price drops.

I had the fundamentals down when I first pressed start and never bothered starting it over because of how linear the game is. The story was decent, and the graphics were steampunk cartoonish... just ok. The game mechanics and gameplay are sound, the AI is better than most games. Once I noticed that money was worthless and I could get by without really using vigors and only upgrading the carbine, I just powered through the game without looking in every trash can for money. Elizabeth throws you rounds in a battle so its pretty much worthless to purchase rounds. They should of made the normal play called easy and notched up the toughness a little bit. But in today's day of advanced computers and seasoned programmers, why they still make such extremely linear games is beyond me. I was bored with it after about three hours of play, so I just powered through as fast as I could and beat it in 7 total hours. There is little replay worthiness for me. This game's smooth programming for AI is what you are paying for. Expand

City 17 felt like a real place, and the characters had a level of depth which you rarely see in any genre, let alone first person shooters. The inclusion of Alyx Vance as the deuteragonist was a giant leap forward. Female characters rarely find a place in video games, and when they do, they are often shallow and underdeveloped.

Irrational Games has built upon Valve's success, creating their own immersive, fully realized world with captivating characters and an unbelievable story. Elizabeth is the heart of the game. She and the player character forge a close connection, and you genuinely begin to care for her. Courtnee Draper's performance is remarkable. At times I found myself forgetting that Elizabeth is actually an npc. Once I had finished Infinite, I went back and replayed Half Life 2 to see how the two games stack up. Alyx's character seems lifeless in comparison with Elizabeth. Irrational Games should be commended for what they have accomplished. Bioshock Infinite isn't just a game. It is a work of art that explores a myriad of complex themes including (inter alia) the evils of Christian absolutism, racism, love, loss, and the human desire for redemption.

First and foremost, this game has amazing graphics. I read user reviews saying that game has poor DX9 use. I wouldn't know. But on a DX11 card, on ultra, it looks amazing, butter-smooth and with nice immersion.

Story was pretty cool, bit weird, but made sense. So why not 10? Well, it's a technological marvel, but that's it. Wooden choices, zero options of consequence, I mean really.

So why not 10? Well, it's a technological marvel, but that's it. Wooden choices, zero options of consequence, I mean really. Bird or cage? When you get asked such a question by a game called Bioshock, I expect it to mean something. I expect to save or drown the little sisters, I expect rabid, savage response, moral ambiguity. Niente.

In Bioshock, things were not just creepy, wet and morally gray, but things you did mattered, and that was great. The best compliment I ever heard to Bioshock 1 was the fact that half way through, the player stopped to wonder whether or not the little sisters would take revenge, whether or not the daddies would catch him unawares and maul him and whether or not all those plasmids will do irreparable harm to the player. It made you care.

Not B3. I don't care for Booker DimWitt because he's trying too hard to have a story and that makes him DISTINCT from me. The fact that he butchered Indians makes for a nice explanation, but also makes me think "I'm not him". I don't care for Miss BigEyes, in spite of the game REALLY trying. When she huffs and puffs I don't think "ah, she's one heck of a woman and I should be scared". It doesn't build her as a powerful feminine character. I'm thinking "B*tch you were locked up for 20 years and I got you out a great personal risk. The least you can do is hold on the b*thing until we're out".

So what I wanted to sell her to the gipsies? She can switch dimensions. Poof.

I could rant for a year. Suffice to say, this is one of the least flexible games ever. If you don't use their weapons as you progress, you get stuck in the later levels, a serious design flaw. On easy, I should be able to use what I want. No choice on weapons, no choice on path, no choice on morality, ending, or anything, really. Zero replay value.

8 is the best I can do.

Bioshock Infinite has fantastic art direction, narrative, atmosphere and setting. The gun fights could have been better and more exciting though. There is no need of strategy to the encounters that were such a big and important part of the original Bioshock.

Voice actors were very well done, minus the repetitive enemies. How many times do we really need to hear Nate Drake in a game? Don't get me wrong the guy is getting well paid and I have no complaint with his voice, but every time I hear his voice I just think "why?"
Game play: Why the guns knocked down to 2? Why why why?! I found this very annoying, and the energy weapons? Some were fun, but I found no use for most of them. Are they running out of ideas for the third game? Enemies were copy and paste through most of the game. I found whether I shot them or ran past them, most times it made no difference. The Ms. of the game (ai) was extremely useful. I run out of health, energy, or even ammo and there she is tossing me some more. I can't put my finger on it, but I found myself rushing through the last half to get done with it. Things felt bland after awhile.
Environment: If this is your first time playing BioShock, good for you. The floating city was quite amazing. If you have played, you may find yourself a bit let down. At no time did I feel dread or fear of something lurking like I did the first two. A bit too happy to the eyes, perhaps?
Length: A good ten to fifteen hour game, depending on your play style.
Story: Alas, the world of BioShock for some reason always must throw the twist at us. Fun, but I kept feeling I was watching a combination of shows and books I've seen or read recently. Maybe too many directions you could go with this kind of storytelling, but I was happy it was over when it was. Felt a bit rushed at the end. I "get it" but I was still wondering why they did it and I rolled my eyes.
So...Good game, not the greatest in my opinion, but one can't deny the positive reviews.
Rent it first if you love the first, but felt a little meh towards the second. Ask yourself how you really feel about a floating sky and random storytelling.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Bioshock Infinite is like a party which seems great at the time that the hard partying is taking place, but once the clock strikes midnight and you get back home you wonder why you were enjoying yourself so much. The gunplay is very satisfying as the weapons ping and pang on all fronts. Coupled with the vigors this makes for a brutal and adrenaline fuelled murderous bonanza. Graphics are wonderful, as is the voice acting (esp. the guy playing Booker.) The AI of the enemies is good and Elizabeth is a technological marvel as she never gets in your way and responds rapidly to the situation at hand.

The plot (whilst being lauded by most of the population) is really contrived and didn't do it for me. If you want to get bent in the mind (tastefully) then go read Asimov or Bradbury. There were signs along the way that seemed to point to where it was heading... When you did eventually get there it wasn't particularly satisfying or eye-opening.

    SPOILER
To sum up the plot in one sentence It is what is(n't).

The plot to me was like a top at the apex of it's spin. Intriguing at the beginning, it slowly spins out of control and falls. Things were not quite as neatly wrapped up for me as what I had been expecting, based on the first BioShock. While it was something I didn't see coming, it wasn't quite enough for me.
I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the first BioShock, and the main characters were excellent. Infinite however seems bright and sunny all day long, and aside from the beginning "tutorial" very empty of life. The Voxophone messages didn't even give any hint into the regular life of this city like in the previous games.
And as a little pet peeve, I was pretty much forced to use the guns they wanted me to. I had modded up a few guns to their max, but was always running out of ammo and forced to switch up, using guns I hadn't bothered to mod. And while some may say I suck at playing, I found the fights with a particular spirit to be absolutelyridiculous, to the point where I just died... over and over and over just to whittle away any bit of health I could between deaths...or maybe I was just using the wrong, non-modded gun.
Overall, I was happy to see another BioShock game, even if it didn't quite feel the same. No regrets buying or playing

So lets keep this test now with a bit of distance after playing it through for about 2 Months.

    Story:

The story is simply the best that we currently have on the market. Even though not all Characters are perfectly described the story lets us feel the emotions and things that come with the plots in the game.
Also it has one of the best Endings I have ever seen in a game and most of the audience had a really hard WTF moment afterwards with lots of room for explain the ending in your own understandings.

    Audio:

From the audio side the game is pretty solid. I played it with German synchronization which usually is not the best, but in this case it was very well done. Also the weapon Sounds and in general the perfectly written and played dialogues were on a high level.

    Gameplay:

So from here on we come to the part where Bioshock Infinite suffers in my opinions. So the gameplay for a shooter is also very solid, but does not come with any groundbreaking new mechanics or stuff. The only thing that makes at least a bit of a difference is the ability to hook on the air rails and thats all.
On PC you have the advantage that your Vigors are placed on the 1-0 keys but the lack of getting them sorted as you wish makes it a bit complicated to play with them. Although if you play it with gamepad you have the same issue as console gamers and will propably only use up to 2 or 3 Vigors.
So there is the next critics. The Vigors are basically useless! Also they are not captured in any describing story element.

    Graphics:

So this is the thing what makes me mad when thinking afterwards about the game and its competition on the Shooter Market.
Irrational Games has in fact tricked us! Not in a really bad way, but they put a comic look onto the game which allowed them to work with poor textures being covered by eyecatchers like the fog and the bright statues and the story. If we would analyze the graphics we would see, that this game looks really bad in comparison to f.e. Battlefield3, Far Cry 3 or Metro Last Light.
Anyways for the ability to trick us I can accept that as excuse ^^.

    Verdict:

If I was asked if Bioshock Infinite is a must play game I'd definitivly answer with yes.
If I was asked if Bioshock is the game of the year until now, I'd definitivly decline it!
For me this is an awesome game but I want to stay honest. So for me Metro Last Light is almost at the same Meta Score, becauseit makes everything that Bioshock has not done well much better, and if we focus on the genre Bioshock lags in almost every Shooter relevant topic! Story was never the relevant topic of a shooter but Bioshock made it relevant in his case!

Sure, the first few minutes are very inspiring: You get thrown into an interesting world and get some nice toys to play with. The voice acting is good, with many humorous or intriguing passages (this also stays that way for the rest of the game).

But after these first few minutes, you're ultimately playing a shooter-on-rails with a very poor choice of weapons and boring enemies. You do get a few things that have nice animations (murder of crows, melee hook...), but that just isn't enough when the actual mechanics of fights don't work well.

Apart from fighting, the game is supposed to be supported by a relatively complex storyline anda damsel in distress sidekick that you are supposed to -and probably will manage to- care about.

Unfortunately, any form of explanation that you might get about what actually is going on is jammed into the last few minutes of the game and some collectable items that you only find when you're searching for them, also mostly found at the end of the game.

And of course, when you *do* find the collectibles or read a detailed explanation online, you just find out that the game's characters and their motivations were largely written at below Loony Tunes levels. Their motivations and actions just doesn't make enough sense, and then neither does the story.

Lastly, everything in Bioshock Infinite just cries "console port", again the same as in the older titles of the series.
The game is just annoying to interact with swapping between weapons and spells is annoying, using the map is annoying (you're largely supposed to constantly whack a button and get a direction arrow to follow in game), freedom of movement is impaired and quite annoying, and you need to suffer slowly opening doors by holding a button pressed, clearly designed to "conceal" level transitions.
And physics, free movement on arbitrary surfaces you ought to be able to move on and so is also largely absent. You get some rag-doll physics for kills, and you can move around on specific upper floors of buildings (that a green area indicates when you jump off a hook point), but it just is all quite limited.
The graphics also are pretty bad, most of the time. There is a *huge* variety of objects and textures, but many of them just look ugly, blurry, artificial, badly lighted and what not. I have a feeling that the artists had their work molested to make the console port work, and then marketing decided the PC version couldn't be better, either but that's just a guess...

TL,DR: Annoying console-originated port of a linear shooter, with very uninspired combat mechanics and a story with poor pacing that makes no sense. Only the voice acting and graphical diversity (not quality) stand out. 6-8 hours play time, and it's over there is no real motivation to replay the game.

But to my sadness I felt no taste, no emotions. I felt I'm a keyboard&mouse operating machine that needs to execute to finish the game.

I've started Bioshock Infinite with usual: I've saved so many worlds before, this will be done in no time, just show me The Boss.

And then somewhere half way though the I felt that tingling sensation. I felt something! I felt the people who created this game saves many worlds as well. And this one is somehow different. I felt young and surprised by the world.

It has been a long time since I enjoyed a game so much that it sticks in your mind. Ocarina of time did that, along with Sands of time, Half Life 2, Beyond Good and Evil, and Bioshock 1. But since 2008 I have played many games, some which were critically acclaimed to be a masterpiece, some which were immensely popular.

I enjoyed those games, but since the original bioshock, not a single game impressed me enough to enter my top 5. (mentioned above) And to be honest, I wasent that impressed by the countless trailers and gameplay vids of this game.... It just felt like a scripted piece of junk.

Man, was I wrong..... Because Bioshock infinite has not only entered my top 5, it also made my jaw drop many times.

Lets get one thing clear, This is not what you would expect from a game with 'shock' in its name. Its not scary, or a survival shooter. It provides you with a completely different experience, and that is why its so good.

From the moment you open the gates to Columbia, you will be so lost in this game that you will never want to stop playing. Yes, its a slow shooter with a lot of emphasis on exploration and experimentation. But thats exactly what I want from a bioshock game. You will be confused, lost and puzzled. You will try to piece together different events with the help of audio logs and your personal interpretation. You will try to experiment with vigors all the time. My favorite was using devils kiss to throw a grenade and then using murderous crows to use burning crows on the enemies.

But its not the gameplay that hooked me. It was the characters, the outstanding setting of the game, and of course The story. Let me tell you, This is the best story I have experienced in a first person shooter ever. And I have played a lot, seriously A LOT... Elizabeth and the Lutece twins will always be my favorites. And the way the the game concludes: Holy s***....

However this game isn't for everybody. If you hated the first bioshock, there's no way you will enjoy this one. Also if you hate backtracking, "your princess is in another castle" moments, and collection quests, understand that these has been the normal features in the shock series since the legendary System Shock 2, and if you hate these things to death, please don't play this game.

But that being said, Bioshock Infinite is a spectacular achievement in terms of storytelling, characters and the setting a game can present us with. For me, I enjoyed it even more than its acclaimed predecessor.

I really do love the concept behind the mechanics but do feel that they could feel a bit more...free. Where a game like Just Cause 2 made you feel really agile this game is a bit more towards Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines (a game worthy of a 10 score due to the story alone) in that you sometimes wish you could do stuff that your character seem like it should be able to. I should be able to lean around corners, jump over certain restrictions and feel a bit less clumsy.

One thing that should be mentioned is that this game deals a great deal with the issue of race and racism, from what I've seen so far (after a long night of playing) they deal with it in a very compelling way.

Do you have your eyes shut when you play?? The art styling just oozes charisma along with Booker, Elizabeth and Comstock.

Other than that, I think that the tapes and side stories were a lot less interesting than in the first game, but maybe that's just me.

It's a great game, you can miss it, but the feeling I got after playing it all is that the first Bioshock was better.

A perfect example of a beautiful game playtested into oblivion and watered down in every way to cater to the average college-kid gamer who just wants something 'omg epic'.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Bioshock Infinite is a text-book example of "Sequelitis". It's a good game, and I definitely enjoyed every minute of it, but there wasn't much that really impressed me, and nothing that brought back the awe from the original game. Pretty much every aspect is average. Nothing great, and not much that's broken. The environment looks fantastic, but when you fill it with people, it really loses a lot of its luster. Animations are clunky at best, and aside from Elizabeth's facial expressions there wasn't much to discern the general population from the robots hanging off of the vending machines scattered about Columbia. Combat tends to drag on sometimes, and it would have been nice to see some fights that involved a little more than pumping bullets into people or lighting them on fire all the time. The soundtrack generally manages to capture the time period, voice acting is acceptable, and most of the weapons have a pretty satisfying report when fired. All that said, I do have two MAJOR complaints about BSI, and both are spoilers. The first is the act involving locating the gun-maker. That entire sequence made absolutely no sense, and jumping through Elizabeth's rifts was little more than an incredibly cheap way to accelerate the story. It almost feels like there was more planned, but the developers had to replace it all with a few convenient "alternate realities" that were quickly forgotten about once the act was over. The other issue were the fights with Lady Comstock's ghost. All three or four fights were little more than spending every last bullet in your inventory shooting at zombies that were instantly resurrected the moment you dropped them. I don't know if there was another way to do the fight, but I had to eventually just ignore the peons (which would lead to my health dropping in record time) and just dump everything I had into the actual boss. It wasn't fun, it was just a string of aggravating combat sequences that clashed horribly with the mostly fun battles from the rest of the game. Overall though, I liked BSI. It wasn't great, and there were some moments I wanted to throw my computer through a wall, but I did enjoy it. Definitely a good rainy Saturday title. Expand

This game was made with such an addiction to perfeccionizm that you will feel it trough the whole game. Stunning story, great art style, perfect combat with mutliple Vigors and guns. One of the best side characters in game ever. Its true, its not such a blow to your face as Bioshock 1 was but its still a must have title. One of the best games in history.

Play BSI slowly, relish the moments and don’t rush to the end. It’s certain that you will have lived one of the richest gaming experiences that, as far as narration, lyricism and story are concerned, will take a lot of time to forget! [May 2013]

A very solid, but not revolutionary shooter in an amazing setting, with a story that struggles to convey its authors’ ambitions and is only seemingly complex. The vision is less focused than in previous Bioshocks and it does a worse job on binding the plot with gameplay. [CD-Action 05/2013, p.46]

Problematic plotting and excessive amounts of poorly balanced combat apply friction to what is otherwise one hell of a rollercoaster. [May 2013, p.80]
