The AI is stuck in neutral, the races aren't exciting enough to get your engine running, and the missions feel a bit flat.
-
A decent title which will probably appeal to fans of games like "Wipeout" or "Quantum Redshift," plus some of the "GTA" thugs out there like me will enjoy it as well.
-
Even though the game's obviously meant to pinpoint the sheer racing aspect of it all, there's nothing in its essence to make it more addictive. On the other hand, other aspects deserve praising; the level design, various visual details, a wide variety of car models, etc.
-
Slow and jerky movement, deficient sound effects, and repetitive action cause this release to be a frustrating disappointment.
-
Computer Games MagazineThe graphics are sharp and the engine is smooth, providing good control once you get a feel for the slippery vehicles. [Feb 2003, p.85]
-
It appears that the developers spent all of their time in creating the city and traffic, and the AI and gameplay took a back seat.
-
Occasionally intense but lacks the personality and polish of its source material.
-
Computer Gaming WorldThere's some high-flying fun in this racer, but the numerous unnecessary hurdles will send you cruising back to the store to return Beam Breakers. [Feb 2003, p.88]
