    This action masterpiece is finally on PC! I'm happy to report that this version of the game is fantastic, tons of options, runs excellently even at 4K and beyond, and it runs well on older hardware. The game itself is incredibly enjoyable, with virtually perfect controls, stunning art direction and it doesn't take itself too seriously which was a breath of fresh air during its originalThis action masterpiece is finally on PC! I'm happy to report that this version of the game is fantastic, tons of options, runs excellently even at 4K and beyond, and it runs well on older hardware. The game itself is incredibly enjoyable, with virtually perfect controls, stunning art direction and it doesn't take itself too seriously which was a breath of fresh air during its original 2010 release on Xbox 360 (and a terrible PS3 version, then a Wii U version in 2014!). The price on Steam as of this review is $19.99/£14.99, and I'd say it's definitely worth it at that price, or you could wait for a sale if you prefer, but definitely check this game out at some point, especially if you are a fan of hack and slash games, as this is a stellar example of one.… Expand

    The Beat'Em All reference released on January 2010 on Xbox 360 blows its way to PC in one god*amn good port. Well optimized, the game is as crazy as it was seven years ago, the fights are as insane as ever and the already stunning visuals get lifted up through a pile of welcome options. Everything goes fast, the action is really intense and all that speed is channelled into an outstandingThe Beat'Em All reference released on January 2010 on Xbox 360 blows its way to PC in one god*amn good port. Well optimized, the game is as crazy as it was seven years ago, the fights are as insane as ever and the already stunning visuals get lifted up through a pile of welcome options. Everything goes fast, the action is really intense and all that speed is channelled into an outstanding staging (including through those breathtaking animations) which raises the fights of this game to the rank of most exhilarating ones ever seen on the BTM field.     Fantastic port, great resolution support, great silky smooth 60 fps with no fps drops ever. Great gameplay, great characters, probably the best action game ever created.

    Bayonetta gets off to a slow start but it gets better and better as it goes on, it also didn't overstay its welcome, clocking in at just under 12 hours which felt perfect to me.

    I found the combat to be extremely fun and just over the top ridiculous but in a good way, with countless combos to perform and plenty of well done set pieces that took you off the ground to change up the    Bayonetta gets off to a slow start but it gets better and better as it goes on, it also didn't overstay its welcome, clocking in at just under 12 hours which felt perfect to me.

    I found the combat to be extremely fun and just over the top ridiculous but in a good way, with countless combos to perform and plenty of well done set pieces that took you off the ground to change up the gameplay a little. The boss fights were simply incredible, I can't think of many games that can match them. The main gripe I have regarding the gameplay is the damn QTEs which were often very unforgiving and resulted in death, one shot mechanics are never fun, and one shot QTEs are just the worst.

    The music was another huge success, it was very upbeat and fit the theme of the game perfectly, which overall was quite sexual and filled with innuendo, but on such an over the top level it was more humorous than anything else. Bayonetta as a character was very likeable, especially when interacting with the "Little one".

    Overall I enjoyed my time with the game and will definitely be playing the sequel sometime in the future.    … Expand

    It's DMC, except that it's actually Bayonetta. A hack and slay action title that no thrillseeker should miss. Eventually it's all about button smashing and a great sense of humor. On PC the camera can be a bit unsteadily at times and some elements of the game still seem outdated. But I highly recommend it.

    Bayonetta is a classic hack and slash over the top button mashing mayhem where the player control the namesake Bayonetta. The combat is simple to learn but hard to master. What a game.

Topped with bugs, limited and punished healing.     This is the game that made Platinum Games famous, the guys who also made Nier Automata recently. Plus a fantastic PC port, even playable with keyboard. Whats more to say? Get it already!

    The most insane, over the top spectacle fighter game I've ever played!
    Some people are dismissive as this is a port of an old Wii U game, but don't be fooled, this is one of the best fighter games you can play on PC (or any other system for that matter).
    Fluid and incredibly fun combat, rock solid 60 FPS at 1080P with my GTX 1060 with plenty of room to spare and a reasonable price. I    The most insane, over the top spectacle fighter game I've ever played!

    Amazing port of an amazing game. It's fast, fluid, and most of all it's soaked in style. Easily the best spectacle fighter out there AND it runs great even on lower end hardware.

    Great PC port, great game. Super stylish and fast. Stable 60FPS at 4k for me on a 4690k, 16 gigs of DDR3 and a GTX 1070. What's not to love? Plat really did a great job on this one.

    It runs great, the gameplay's fast and fluid, it's oozing with style, there's not much to complain about here. If i had to nitpick i'd say there are one or two more QTEs then there should be but that's but a scratch on an otherwise perfect behemoth of a game.

All of this has been fixed in the PC version, stable framerates, responsive controlls, loading screens so short i didn't even notice them and it looks great to boot. I gave the PS3 version a 5/10 but the PC version is a solid 10/10, improved in every way and now it's playable.     8 years later it's still the best HAck/Slash Beat em' up on the market, it's just really good. And now you can play it at good framerates AND also resolutions. THe best version of one of the best games ever made.

    Just an Awesome game with Awesome port for pc , stable 60fps in my I5 2500 with GTX 970 12gb ram Congratulations Sega , Make more ports same this! (Maybe Bayonetta 2 or Ninja Gaiden Series)

    There are very few times I feel encouraged to play on my PC, but with games like this is a pleasure, the performance is optimal, and the jewel of the crown of Kamiya's work, Styiish action packed, with sexy female lead protagonist, one of the best games ever.

    Very good game, lots of action, good port, great framerate even on my bad laptop, looks good and not washed out like the XBOX and ps3 versions and runs better too, great game, and cheap.

    You get a LOT for the money. Not for fans of realistic characters... or even sane ones! The whole thing is gonzo and never repeats itself. And the creative team couldn't stop themselves: the credits go on a half-hour with more delightful bits than you can shake a stick at. A jolly good time!

    By far the best game to come out this year, runs great on the only platform to game on, the PC, looks great, is only €15, and is just an awesome game, play it now.

    I'm guessing this game is great for people that either loved the original game or are into flashy Japanese games. The game is way too busy, noisy for me. I was really put off by the whole 'sexy fighter' aspect. For me it's just a really bad Devil May Cry alternative.

    As a Devil May cry fan, Onimusha and God of War I have to say Bayonneta is the best Hack and Slash game I played so far (Devil may Cry 3 is almost a tie though) . And the PC port of this game is incredible well optimized and not just optimized but fully upgraded!
    Funny story, a strong and remarkable character, awesome gameplay and huge creativity.

Combat system is pointless - you just smash random buttons to win, this cannot be compared even to Dark Souls. Plot? Demons, angels - overused, and completely tangled - not that kind of knots you having fun to decipher, but that kind of "I didn't understand a grain".     It is hideous, juvenile, boring, buggy and somehow still absurdly easy. If you're a teenage boy, still enrapt by cartoonishly buxom anime women and undeterred by absurd and outright preposterous story lines, then you might find value here - but let's be honest; this is just a dumb story. As a test I actually stopped    I feel like the only one who thinks this game is very overrated.

    Also, this game is hard to look at. It's a soup of motion-blur and shell casings too, but the artwork I find genuinely ugly.

    I believe the love this game gets is some sort of loyalty to either an era or maybe a genre...I am unsure.

    Very overrated game, combat is just a carbon copy of all of the Devil May Cry games, the graphics are a carbon copy of all the capcom games, the characters honestly suck. So if you've played Devil May Cry its just like that with more shooting. Woohoo.

This game is like a wearing a blindfold in a room full of nails- sure it's easy once you know where they all are, but every time you stab yourself finding another one, it's just painful and annoying- not fun and satisfying.     Enemy variety is extensive and unpredictable, Bayonetta is a lovable Sassy character.
    There were a lot of interesting sections, for example riding a bike on a motorway and fighting on top of trucks. The Platforming elements are fun and the Music is great. This has made me view PlatinumGames with renewed    The Combat in this game is phenomenal, challenging while extremely fun.

    Extremely well done port of the 2006 cult classic, still running at 60 frames per second! After lackluster sales on Xbox 360 and a sequel on Wii U, Bayonetta finally lands on the PC market! It is everything you'd expect from industry veteran Hideki Kamiya: Action, Adventure, Combos, Executions, Collectables, Genre changes and Mini-games! All set to the Devil May Cry gameplay that made him famous!

    This game is very fun to play, lots of bosses, smooth controls, amazing animation and soundtrack. After finishing the game, I still want to continue and unlock the remaining contents. The only problem is the camera not working properly in some area and not able to move the camera with mouse.

    Bayonetta is meant to be on PC with its smooth graphics and animation. This game holds up, the second game was even crazier and I hope it comes to PC next... and then Bayonetta 3.

    Best non-nintendo game to come out this year, smooth framerates, great scaling, 4k, it's just perfect. Buy it now if you wanna play something of real quality.

    I got this game thinking it would have a similar atmosphere to Bloodrayne (2003). It does not. Not at all.

    This is a mindless over-the-top melee fighting game, with no backstory. Well, I couldn't accept the opening "falling on a giant clock from in outer space" as a backstory. The narrator was talking about something reminiscent of the medieval witch-hunts, while the player was thrown    I got this game thinking it would have a similar atmosphere to Bloodrayne (2003). It does not. Not at all.

    This is a mindless over-the-top melee fighting game, with no backstory. Well, I couldn't accept the opening "falling on a giant clock from in outer space" as a backstory. The narrator was talking about something reminiscent of the medieval witch-hunts, while the player was thrown into this fight with some kind of mutant birds which were supposed to be angels or something, spawning out of a larger twin-headed giant bird-like mega-angel, all the while while falling from outer space on a giant piece of clocktower. Yes, it made as little sense as it seems.

    This was shortly followed up by a graveyard scene where Bayonetta was praying to God so had that some angels actually came down, resurrected some big dude from the dead, and then that dude would throw her dozens pistols from a coffin while Bayonetta was fighting the same bird-like angels, while throwing cheesy one-liners. And showing her underwear as much as possible.

    While the Bloodrayne game was fun, Rayne had a pretty awesome personality, the humor was appropriately grim and blunt, but it was fitting a nazi/war theatre. Bayonetta is nothing similar at all.

    Can't give it less than a 5 'cause there's nothing particularly broken with the game, not that I found, and perhaps someone might like it, just not me.    … Expand

    This hack and slash games brought so much joy for me with its random and ridiculous humor and story telling..
    I ended up loving every character I came across in this game..
    The playfulness here is what makes this otherwise just okay game so great…
    The gameplay isn’t anything special and level design isn’t anything special either…
    The game is pretty linear with the ocassional forcing you to dodge a light to freeze time so you can walk on water or break a wall..
    but for the most part this is very much a barebones version of God of War…
    there will be walls that go up that wont come down until you hack and slash your way through all of the enemies…
    the combat is swift and fun, though not too satisfying, but youre able to fill up a meter to torture your enemies for an instakill as well as pick up their weapons which do a great deal of damage but break fairly quickly.. and the enemies drop these haloes that you can trade for new moves, items, and weapons…
    And finishing an area will cause the game to take a snapshot of usually your vag, cause japan….
    And randomly on your journey youll run into crazy huge bosses that you take down with your hair…
    because of course you do…
    your hair covers your body so while using it.. it isn’t quite covering your body as much anymore..
    I found each boss battle to be fun and engaging, and I found all 9 hours of this game to be perfectly paced for the most part…
    The progression is very linear here, and there are a few really cool cinematic moment to keep the game feeling fresh throughout..
    it never becomes predictable, it will introduce and drop mechanics all the time
    it keeps the game fun and stops it from ever feeling like a chore…
    Where pacing did become a problem for me though is with the vehicle based missions… there are few sprinkled in here.. and theyre fun at the start.. but they drag on for what feels like forever..
    less is more and that definitely should’ve been the case here.. these levels get uninteresting quickly and bring the rest of the perfectly paced game down…
    aside for the poorly paced vehicle missions, my biggest issue with this game is its collectibles..
    Theyre all over the place but they pause the game every single time you pick one up..
    I understand this game is from 2009.. but still.. its annoying and frequent…
    it almost discouraged me from picking them up completely..
    Bayonetta Is one of the few games that gets praise today that actually deserves it…
    Despite the annoying collectibles that break the flow of the game.. Bayonetta is a sexually charged game of joy and heart,
    youre guaranteed to smile at least 42 times while playing..
    I give Bayonetta

Maxed out at 1080p60 is an easily achievable feat, even for older hardware, and the graphical enhancements only shed light on how well the visual aesthetics hold up so many years later. Thet feels like a dream seeing Bayonetta on PC, and thankfully, it’s no nightmare. While the frame rate is locked during cutscenes, everything else about the optimization has been done near perfect. Where your just getting access to higher resolution and maybe some Keyboard controls. Just look at Tekken 7. People on exclusively PC think it's the greatest thing since butter. Gets a 7 from me, does nothing new maybe just 4k resolution if you have the hardware and monitor (which lets say I don't have a display port monitor). So it's not worth buying but cannot deny the price is really good. Also cannot deny that maybe it's more than just a simple port as much of game maybe had to be adjusted for PCs.

    To be as real as possible. It's a great game at a great price, as many can tell people will love this game. Showing how my Review is Unfair just because of the following reasoning, If your not interested in replaying the game and don't have access to a 4k monitor or card. I cared more about the operator side-characters in Nier Automata and any random follower in Skyrim than Bayonetta. And why are the characters English? I'm starting to realize that everything that fetishiizes a nationality is generally bad.

    The story is a bunch a randomness slapped together, no meaning what so ever.

    Now I see why the sequel couldn't get a normal publisher and flopped.

    I should have known better, I regret buying this, and I wish I stopped playing after the first chapter on the plane where the game keeps killing you for... honestly I still don't even know why.

    I'll give it +1 star for making me google "Enochian" (supposed angel language), and +1 for the good game I imagined it to be at the very beginning (it had an interesting vibe like it was going somewhere), maybe another +1 for some mechanics I've never seen before (not being a console gamer), and +1 for some counter culture.

    If you love mindless comboing, then maybe this is for you. You never fight many enemies at a time, so it isn't even the good kind of action.

    Sadly it's so close to being a good game, but something is missing. Now I know what that something is: Yoko Taro! Who combined with these developers made the greatest game ever made, Nier: Automata.    … Expand

    I have played Devil May Cry 4 and DmC:Devil May Cry and loved them. However, this game cannot impress me and I quited playing after 2 hours. Combat system is good but you cannot see your enemies' moves due to all visual effects and weird camera angles.

    Great port, great game. I'm not a big DMC fan so I was skeptical before playing this but it really clicked with me as I found the combat, characters and camera to be better and more enjoyable. Bayo has quite a few unlockable combos and weapons and that's when it starts to really pick up. Just a really good, cheesy game.

    My only complaint with this game is the difficulty options. Unbeknownst to me when I started my playthrough, "normal" is the highest difficulty level, and I started to feel that toward the final chapters. Since "normal" demanded good combat performance and extensive exploration for items, I always felt like I was treading water - I typically earned barely enough currency to purchase the maximum possible amount of healing items between missions, almost all of which I typically needed to survive the missions, and never saved up or earned enough to purchase quality combat upgrades or bonus items which would have improved my experience. When I finally switched to "easy," the actual medium difficulty, I murdered the final boss. The "easy" difficulty also turns almost every button press into a tremendous, high-damage combo, and makes the game feel cheap and showy rather than rewarding. In other words, normal was hard enough to make me feel like I wasn't getting to experience all the game had to offer because I scraped by, and easy made the game feel cheap and unmotivating.

    All told, with the exception of some very short window QTEs that can break the immersion if you miss them, the action was amazing and the gameplay exciting. For a casual or impatient gamer, though, normal may be too challenging, but easy too cake-walky.    … Expand

    The fighting in this game feels great, there's decent amount of gore for a game of this type, plenty of enemy variety, lots of combos to master and if you want to be really good you have to master them. I started out on Normal difficulty and it wasnt easy for me, i was constantly getting my butt handed to me, Normal difficulty isnt f*cking around in Bayonetta if youre a first time player. While playing on mouse and keyboard learning those combos can be tricky, since its very evident that the game is begging for you to play it on a controller, dodge and some special related moves are very difficult to pull off since the dodge key is assigned to 2 functions no matter what.

    Its also a game that endorses you to replay it and play it again and again, there's lots of content to be unlocked to increase your capabilties in combat, you cant unlock even one fifth of it by one playthrough alone. Bayonetta also rewards the exploration of what there is in the game, i thought i explored most of the levels and found out what they offered, but found out there's plenty of stuff that i missed that are still hidden.

    Visuals look dated for a 10 years old game sure, but art style still holds up so nicely that dated graphics dont bother at all. The game has really cool over the top presentation in pretty much all of its aspects, from general gameplay to cutscenes, i just kept smiling all the way through. Bayonetta herself being in the center of it all, with her stylish sexiness, her killer attitude, her gravity and phsycis defying actions, makes it all the better. Same goes for the rest of the characters, theyre all interesting, very well written and voiced, big props to the entire english voice cast. Rodin especially is one bad ass mofo.

    However there are still some issues that bugged me. The camera is sluggish to control, even on max sensitivity you need to move your mouse a lot to get it moving. Same goes for certain camera angles that engage and become locked during some of the boss fights, they can get in the way and become annoying. There was an issue where some of the controls simply didnt work, like with the turret section near the end game, its said you can leave the turret but the controls to do so dont respond. Then there's the aforementioned dodge key which complicates the execution of special moves. The game just made me wish i had an Xbox controller at hand.

    Probably the most annoying thing in Bayonetta are the quick time events, theyre overly hard to anticipate, they simply come and go, with really tiny window to respond leaving you thinking WTF happaned, dumb trend of that point in time in gaming industry i guess.

    In the end Bayonetta's a great game still, the issues when playing with mouse and keyboard can be put aside eventually leaving you with still having a great time with the game. Its just a shame that it seems we wont be seeing Bayonetta 2 and 3 on PC :(    … Expand

    Bayonetta is probably the best pure hack and slash game ever made. It's got the quick accessibility of God of War with the depth of a Devil May Cry. Great enemy design for the most part and some incredible boss battles. Held down only by some annoying missions, insta kill QTEs and a witch time not functioning on some enemies and their moves for pretty much no reason.

    Combo moves are almost infinite with different weapon combinations.
    Boss fights are challenging fun and beating them feels badass.

You start with basic combos and slowly work your way up as you progress throughout the game. The game has a stunning art direction and it doesn't take itself too seriously which was a breath of fresh air during its original 2010 release.     I must say Bayonetta is an amazing Devil May Cry-ish game. You are in control of a very strong female protagonist. The cinematics and combos are fun. There are some quick-time events too. I couldn't stop playing until I finished it. 10hrs on record.

    If you are looking for action this might just be the game for you. For me, I got use to the slow strategic combat of something like dark souls as opposed to the frantic combo-infused pace of something like this. But what definitely brings it down for me is the linear progression/story.

    I highly recommend Bayonetta to anybody who asks for a game recommendation. Bayonetta is the hack and slash game that's insanely enjoyable with good humour, a great art style and a great soundtrack to match.

    Fights are fast and fluid, with enough of a challenge that will keep you on your toes.
    Honestly, treat yourself to it.

    I'm so happy I can give this game a 10/10 because for me, this game does everything that I want from a video game extremely well and then some. There are so many things I could get into, but to keep it short -- Bayonetta, to me, is a brilliantly crafted experience that's fun, sassy, and fast-paced with surprising layers of depth. Even though I'm not a fan of hack and slash games, Bayonetta is a huge exception in my catalogue of all time favorites because it is so much MORE than just your ordinary H&S experience. First of all, the art direction & character designs are off the charts genius and so well done that you'll quickly become engrossed in the story which, imo, is fantastic and deeper than what one might think at first glance. This is a journey of a woman becoming a fearless & strong warrior with one of the major themes being motherhood, love, and faith in oneself. And yet, the game doesn't takes itself too seriously as you concoct magical lollipops, collect halos, and listen to some of the finest one liners ever uttered in a video game. Bayonetta is not only one of the best video games ever made, but she's also one of my all time favorite video game characters. And that's a huge feat! The game is highly addictive and very replayable. It also has some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard, especially during the Vigrid / Paradiso segments. If you haven't played this gem, don't wait no more and go play Bayonetta. You won't regret it.… Expand

    Devil May Cry 5'te yaşadığım hissi yaşadım. Çıkarılabilecek yüzlerce combo var ancak ben yeteneksiz olduğum için sadece bir kaçıyla oyunu bitirdim. İnternette izlediğim videolar sanki bambaşka bir oyuna ait gibi. Comboları, canavarları, karakterleri, kostümleriyle en stilistik oyunlardan birisi. Becerebilene tarifsiz bir keyif vereceği kesin.

    Great characters, and a decent story, but the gameplay has some noticeable flaws, and some sections range from confusing to infuriating.

    P.S.: Bayonetta 2 is much better, and I'd recommend playing this to get a feel for that masterpiece of a game.

    Even if all of the platform-specific flourishes weren't there, Bayonetta would remain a superb action title. The familiar story is buoyed by the absurd cut scenes, the action amplifies that ridiculousness, and the gameplay is still considered tight after the introduction of numerous fast action games in recent years. It's also a lengthy title by today's standards, and the constant grading of every fight will get perfectionists going. The PC version enhances everything and makes this the definitive version of the title, as long as you don't mind losing the Nintendo-themed costumes from the Wii U version. Unless you hate fast action games, you absolutely have to pick up Bayonetta.

    Despite the fact that the original was released seven years ago, Bayonetta is one of this year’s most important PC games. In its field it’s still unbeatable and the port leaves very little to be desired. [06/2017, p.48]

    At the end of the day the cocky, confident, wisecracking and unapologetically sexual protagonist and her amazingly rich style of combat still beats strong at the heart of Bayonetta and revisiting the game on PC is a reminder of how much fun the game was in 2009. Any fan of stylish action games will still appreciate Bayonetta, especially now that some of the original's technical issues have been addressed and resolved.
