Despite its modest presentation, Scattered Hopes is a game more than worthy of bearing the Battlestar Galactica name. Although as a roguelike it may feel slightly less powerful than others in its genre, its gameplay loop is addictive, its atmosphere keeps you on edge, and it offers enough variety to make you want to repeat the quest it presents over and over again. Alt Shift has managed to capture the essence and tension of the source material, though the execution falls short in some areas, such as its overall length or the features that define it as a roguelike. Still, if you’re eager to relive those “33 minutes” that marked the beginning of the TV series, there’s no better game to do so.
