    According to DICE/EA I am uneducated and there for should simply not buy their game. Apparently I am no longer in their demographic even though I have played every single other Battlefield game prior to BFV. So I am going to take my uneducated dollars with me and move on to bigger and better games.

    A terrible game, don't waste your money on it. Such a shame, I've been a fan of this franchise since BF1942, but moneygrabbers EA just ruined another franchise. I never ever thought I would say this, but Call of Duty actually surpassed Battlefield

    I found this version significantly better than the console variations, maybe its because the control scheme through this buggy mess made things much easier, or maybe it was because it was simply a better experience due to better graphics and frame rate.     The guys who worked on the PC side of this deserve a raise, and then a subsequent demotion because I think no one can save this mess of a game.

    Anyway to sum up my problems with the game:

    -lack of content
    yes this was explained by free DLC, but that doesnt excuse it, I bought the game now, not after all the DLC came out. If they release a GOTY edition (and thats a big IF) with all the dlc, then i might consider changing my score to reflect that.

    -Its a bUgGy MeSs
    there's no helping this except with the passage of time

    -lack of authenticity and/or accuracy
    This is immersive for some players, but this game didn't do it for me. Which is a shame because there are a lot of games that do like DM or Battlefield 2.

    -Feels like Cod
    This is kinda self explanatory

    That's pretty much everything i have to say.

    This game is aweful, it's bland and boring! It is also unfinished.... How are the graphics worse than Battlefield 1 ??! The game looks terrible. Glad I only went for the trial on origin access, feel sorry for the people who paid full price for this pile of manure

    To address the elephant in the room - I don't understand why they didn't just market the game as some steampunk / alternate universe kind of story, with that it would have been much more reasonable and would have garnered no complaints from me.     The game-play itself is miserable - I'm strongly of the belief that the Battle Series has been going downhill hard since BF3, and this is no different. Much like BF One, and Star Wars Battlefront - these game as the most beautiful highly polished HD garbage I have ever seen. From trailers to still images the games look phenomenal, but once you get put behind the controls you realize it is at best the same old same old, but realistically two steps back for every step forward.

    EA is continuing on with is practice of charging $60 for a retail game, with $60 of additional DLC that you will essentially have to buy if you don't want to get left behind by your friends or favorite servers - coming only 1 year after it's predicessor (Battle Front 2) and only 1 year before the previous (BF One). $120 for less than a year's worth of low quality gaming? No thanks.

    But clearly EA and Dice are happy to be swimming in foolish gamers money with former boss of Dice Patrick Soderlund going so far as to respond to complaints by saying calling consumers "uneducated" and following by saying "either accept it or don't by the game. I'm fine with either."

    BF fans need to seriously vote with their wallets or you can expect another $120 hot pile of garbage in BF6 coming right on schedule next fall .    … Expand

    En resumen, no entiendo tanto odio hacia el juego, en mi opinión personal (espero que al menos respetéis eso) es el mejor battlefield que he probado, y son los 70 euros mejor invertidos en la saga que podre gastar de momento, no hagáis caso a las reviews negativas que solo se preocupan por lanzar mierda sobre el juego y bajar su media, todo fan de la saga amara este juego, con sus peros, ya que la mejor manera de saber si un juego es bueno, es probando y creedme, lo he probado y reprobado muchísimo, casi demasiado    … Expand

    Don't believe the people still mad that EA put a one armed chick in their trailer, the game is great. A little buggy of a release, but a patch coming tomorrow that should fix most issues. Fun to play.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game takes "fast paced" gameplay to an unenjoyable level. Dying so quickly works when respawning is also quick, like Call of Duty. But this game compacts too many elements into not large enough maps.

    Some minor campaign spoilers here.
    The single player campaign? It would've been better just to not have one, than to use the disgusting revisionist versions that were implemented. An entire Norwegian commando team was effectively written out of their own mission, replaced by a "mom and daughter" team that embarked on the mission in ways that don't make sense for reasons that don't make sense at all.

    It also portrays the French as having segregated black soldiers and treated them as less. In actuality, Germans at times would kill all the blacks of captured squads, and there were white French commanders that died for defending their black soldiers. As well some white commanders were killed simply for having black soldiers in their command. This campaign effectively writes ALL of that out of history and portrays the French as just as racist as America was at the time. Revising history to make blacks or women look bad, or taking them out completely and giving credit for accomplishments to someone else simply for their race or gender should NOT be acceptable to any race, white or black, etc, or any gender, man or woman.

    The inclusion of some levels of historical accuracy, enough to know which missions and groups were being portrayed in accordance with the actual WWII, but leaving out and rewriting things to obviously fit an agenda, is just absolutely disgusting to those who did participate in and help out in the war effort.

    Definitely do not buy this game if you haven't already and you respect those who fought in that war. Because this game disrespects them to a great degree, and disrespects history itself, simply to fit the agenda of the game makers. Quite sad.    … Expand

    I do not understand the stupid review giving the game a 0/10. This is nonsense. The game is totally different from what was announced and in an amazing way! The gameplay is just so much fun, very immersive environment. I love the sounds, the graphics, the gun mechanics, the Grand operation.     They improved so much vs. the beta. I actually did not like the beta but now this game is just excellent. I am also quite pleased by the map design. I can tell they made a big improvement vs BF1.
    Regarding the female character controversy, you now have the option to choose whether you want a man or a woman, black or white etc... So it is totally up to the player to decide what he wants to do. Nothing is imposed on you by the devs.

    I did not attempt to play online, but the single-player campaign was frustrating. The game largely forces you to either play by stealth or fight vast numbers of enemies. The average is about two magazines of ammo. Sniper rifles are largely pointless when you have to go loot enemies every ten kills or so. For someone that mostly just wanted to go sight-seeing through a historical campaign, the game wasn't really much fun.    … Expand

Japan, the US, France, Russia, and Italy forces are not in the game. The weapon selection for the most part sucks and is extremely limited.     Don't believe the haters - it's a decent game and the gunplay (aka: why we game) is on point.

    Could do with a few more maps, but I'm hoping the year of FREE DLC will fix that!

    From the very beginning they screwed up by attacking gamer's and saying we are uneducated and sexist for saying no woman with a metal prosthetic arm served in the war, we also said another fact and that is like 99% of the people who served was men. They also took certain important events from WW2 and switched so a woman was the hero and not how it really happened.

    The worst game in the series. I was hoping until the last moment, but the miracle did not happen. The game is meanly killed by its own creators. Goodbye BF, rest in peace.

    It’s far from being ideal but all the glitches and shortcomings don’t ruin the overall fun of Battlefield V’s multiplayer experience. Although the single player portion of the game is not bad at all, I would have been disappointed if I bought the game just for it. [13/2018, p.56]

    In Battlefield V we got back to WW2, but with refined gunplay and death system which works great. There are also little problems such as low number of maps and stability issues, that are taking the fun away, but nothing that can't be fixed.

    A great World War II shooter that will grow and improve. Do not buy the game because of its singleplayer, but if you consider the campaign a bonus to the multiplayer, you will be satisfied. [Issue#291]
