DON'T LISTEN TO THE REVIEW BOMBERS!
Great game with new mechanics improving the immersion to WW2. Hopefully we will see a good amount of extra content in the future as currently it is a bit lacking. Adding female soldiers to a WW2 game was a questionable choice though.

    Summary:
I really dont get this negative Review score.
BF 5 is a great game IN THE MULTIPLAYER. Singleplayer: The singleplayer is really weak. that's true, wich is btw. the reason for the Review score 8. The same thing like in bf1 except for less inspiration with the mission design. Multiplayer: DICE has made a lot of changes depending specific gameplay- and teamplay Mechanics.

And holy **** i do love these new mechanics! especialy, the fact that Everybody is able to revive in Battlefield V sounds stupid on the Paper, but in game it feels awesome.
The Medic is still an extremely important class because of the new regeneration system, and all around the Classes seems to be ballanced on a great way. The CORE-Teamplay (Reviving, resupplying, and fighting together is working absolutely fine to me!
Another Point... BF5 left the path of being such an expensive DLC based game.
It will be delivering Content for Free to all players. So GG to EA! Havent seen this for such a long time in a AAA production!
    The game itself feels great!
    Now one negative Point.
It feels like we do have a little lack of Content on release.
Especialy to mee i just want to see more of it! but i know there might be alot of you angry about it. It is a big point.

In General i just can Say - Good Job to DICE.
Leave out the Singleplayer - Focus on the multiplayer and give us more of it!

You can get plenty of outfits without spending a penny, but for those who want it, they will add a optain to buy outfits with real money.

I dont get all the hate for this game, it is fun to play and a step up from BF1
+ Better gunplay, faster paced, fewer sniper-campers and solid mechanics.
+ No dlc / premium / micro transactions (unless you really want to for some reason)
    - Not a lot of content on launch, but it is getting better.

-/+ Can select character colour and sex (for those who like to keep it historically accurate)

In December 2018 this is now a really fun to play game, but problems still persist and ruin the overall enjoyment from nearly 10/10 to 7.5-8/10. I gave it 8 since changes so far have been mostly positive, for new players the price is really worth it now, but people who pre-ordered and bought on launch are cheated over, why ever pre-order EA game? This game is wasted on the most embarrassing, whiniest sad clowns on the internet today. Seriously. Milennials are a freaking mess.

I've been playing Battlefield since the BF1942 DEMO in 2001! With regard to the FPS genre DICE are the best ever to do it. Where Halflife wrote FPS law Battlefield carved it in stone. I can see them applying everything they've learned over the years
This game is wasted on the most embarrassing, whiniest sad clowns on the internet today. Seriously. Milennials are a freaking mess.

I've been playing Battlefield since the BF1942 DEMO in 2001! With regard to the FPS genre DICE are the best ever to do it. Where Halflife wrote FPS law Battlefield carved it in stone. I can see them applying everything they've learned over the years and that makes it genuinely impressive.

Is it perfect? Nah. That goes without saying. I mean, it's no APEX LEGENDS or CoD but it'll do. /sarcasm

One of the problems with this game is it's so beautiful you need a nuclear powered gaming rig to be able to play it at any meaningful resolution. They need to scale that back a bit. I have an RTX 2080ti and an i7 and my system warms up.

The weapon grind... mmm... It was annoying in BF4 (I skipped BF1) but there were all manner of modern weapons to choose from. The grind, though comparatively short, can be painful when you're running through trees of single shot rifles you actually have to aim with. And that's an issue because...

The gunplay doesn't FEEL the same as BF4. In BF4 I could raise an MG4, aim and fire knuckles directly into someone's face hitting with like 8 of 10 rounds fired. In this game? I don't know what it is. I've fired up BF4, slapped some people, turned it off and fired up BFV... missed EVERYTHING. It takes a while to get used to the newer gun handling.

I love the stationary weapons and vehicles. If you're whining about vehicles in a Battlefield installment you're stupid. Period. It's what battlefield has always been about - playstyle diversity! Go play Apex Legends and dry your millennial eyes with printouts of Elon Musk doing the scooter dance. (Yeah Yeah! He's a young CEO...Suge!)

Already, toxic little snot nosed manbabies are choking this game out and it's sad. What's even more fun is listening to them moan IN GAME. They play every freaking day - but can't stop crying. People in Metacritic who gave this game a 1 are most likely playing as I type this. smh

Get it. Just make sure you pay attention to the system requirements and get real. Also, if you're crying because Asian and Black people appeared in a video game? Don't bother. BFV will hurt your feelings as there are men AND women of color in this... just like there were in WWII.

The game is cool but not like battlefield 1.
Only 1 minus for me the game is not optimized. Battlefront 2 came out in 2017 and there is a single player mode with bots on different maps, and Battlefield 5 came out in 2018 and there is no such mode. and so 8/10

Squad revive and ammo attrition etc is a great addition
Attempts to get some actual team gameplay back into the game
No micro transactions and all DLC available to all ++
Very smooth launch. Easy to get onto regional servers.
    Runs well on a GTX970.

    Cons:
Rewriting actual historical events and people is not good.
A full single player campaign would have been great
Netcode issues, will hopefully be addressed as with all their titles after release.
Enemy visibility, it's very hard to pick out players, and sometimes they are literally invisible.
Bombers need to be toned down, add airfields so they need to resupply perhaps like the original games.

Update: They have already started to patch things so fingers crossed they keep improving this title as it is a beautiful game and has stacks of potential.

This game is fun. It's better than I expected. The gun play is fantastic! The sounds are fantastic! The only downsides to it I believe are that Dice had to use a lot of manpower to build an array of cosmetic items. So the release content feels a bit minimal. A lot of the guns are rehashed from BF1. You could argue that was the same with BF3 and BF4. But I was excited to see some iconic WWII weapons. I was also disappointed with some of the maps. A lot of them are small infantry focused maps. I much rather enjoy Battlefield's huge massive all out war battlefields and those are the maps I enjoy playing which are a few. I also wish there were some iconic WWII maps and battles. But they are going for some reason with "untold stories" which is not as exciting. So overall this game doesn't really have that WWII feel at the moment. Hopefully once all the maps and content are out it will. When you play as the British you don't feel like the British in WWII. You feel like some random group of rebels or "Resistance" fighters... The only time I actually feel like it's wwII is when I'm on the German team.
The singleplayer. Don't even bother touching it. It's a waste of your time. I really wish they never even tried to make a singleplayer for this. It's such a lackluster boring mess. They did only have 2 years to make a singleplayer experience and that is definitely not long enough. I would have rather they focused on multiplayer like the original BF1942 game and maybe just make a singleplayer of the multiplayer maps with just bots, so you could practice flying or other techniques.
The bugs in this game are a bit annoying for me as well. Nothing as bad as the release of BF4 but still annoying. I really hate that it's so easy to get caught on the map geometry. This gets me killed more often than not. Especially on that blown out Rotterdam map. Another things that bugs me or rather pulls me out of the experience are the wacky ragdolls. They have no weight to them. They make the players look like they are filled with air. It looks really weird when you kill someone and their ragdoll flops all over then jumps to the help for revive animation. Then when the time runs out for the revive it suddenly jumps and flops around all crazy like. Really pulls me out of the immersion.
I don't like how the planes in the game have weird looking damage models. The wings suddenly clip off at the tips. It just looks unrealistic.
The medic class is very underwhelming. They need some weapons that can reach out a bit further. It would have been cool to do it like BF4 and have the DMR style weapons universal across the classes.

Now the glaring obvious problems this game had even before launch. I don't know how it was possible to completely screw up a WWII Battlefield game. I'm a WWII fanatic and I've waited since the first release of BF for a full complete WWII battlefield game to come out again. But they some how manage to completely screw the marketing for this game up. You will notice by the average user score on here. The marketing team should be fired. This team did real damage to this game. Why in the world would you try to get today's politics and social issues into a WWII historic game? Why? Why try to force and paint a different lens on history? When you try to bring todays politics into a historic game that will obviously piss off a lot of the fan base. The marketing team for BF1 did an amazing job and that game is not as fun as this game.

I really really want this game to succeed and I hope with all the content they release over the next year that it will become a BF gem just like how BF4 had a rough start bug wise I hope this game will change the minds of people that hated it because of the marketing over time.

I personally LOVE how EA/DICE is making us pay $60 for a missing game mode they promised, Battle Royale (which we are getting 'next year' lol) and many features just missing. I personally LOVE how EA/DICE is making us pay $60 for a missing game mode they promised, Battle Royale (which we are getting 'next year' lol) and many features just missing. You can't customize your character in-game/server, groups/platoons don't exist and so many more features just lacking. What is this? An Early Access game on Steam? Why are we missing core features that the Battlefield series always had? Then you have weapons, they just feel "squishy" against enemies. It takes a full magazine to kill someone or if you use a sniper and shoot them straight at the chest it doesn't kill someone. Sometimes even a headshot won't kill a player instantly. The health idea in this game is just stupid. Why are there health packs on players? Battlefield is team orientated. Nope, not this Battlefield. You have health packs like Call of Duty now just to replenish your health. No need for teammates to go Medic for health or even Support for ammo. Can I also mention that DICE censors 'curse words' in-game text chat? Rated 'M' game and we can't call our own horrible team bad words because it may hurt them. Finally, sadly another year without Battlelog. Why? I want detailed statistics, no one wants that crap website companion or app.

Want to play this game? Play on 'Hardcore' servers created by the community. Official servers with DICE's own rule sets are trash.

Battlefield 4 is better and more balanced, Battlefield V is catering to more "casual" players. EA/DICE want that Call of Duty fan base too much rather than on just expanding on what Battlefield is and what they created from the start. You aren't missing out much if you don't play or buy this. If you really want it, wait for a sale. It will probably be like $30 by next year like Battlefield 1.

I bought every Battlefield game, played each one (ranging from Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC) and I have to say one thing. I personally would have liked to have Battlefield: Bad Company 3 this year or I would have rather taken Battlefield Hardline 2, instead we got Battlefield V. It could be such a fun game to play, but at the same time it's such a disappointing game.

I decided to try it out through the Origin Basic. It was my second Battlefield game from the series. Battlefield 1 was the first one and i played it a lot- really liked it.

The first thing, that quite frustrated me, was time to kill, as someone in the previous reviews mentioned, you die, die and die, waiting for medic many times. In bad games it is really hard to focus, when you die so quickly. K/D ratio suffers. However, if you have a good team, which stick together and helps each other, this is not a big deal. But the word IF is a key here... you rarely get a good team. Many times people are camping with sniper rifles from the map corner, not willing to go into cap zone(not the developers fault, but it affects the pleasure from gameplay). And this is really frustrating. So - IF you have a good team, the low TTK will not bother you. If not - well. Prepare for frustration. I think, that time to kill is going to be changed again, but i may be mistaken.

I like special abilities available for the squad commander. Very good idea. And if a player, which is a commander, doesn't give orders, it stops to be commander after some time. That was a good decision, because i hated that in Bf 1, where poor squad commander didn't give orders, and we were losing points.

The second thing - sound. While the music is good(especially "under no flag" and "triumph". Both are awesome tracks) The sound is weird - it is often very hard to hear footsteps, and i hear tanks only, when they drive over me. It really doesn't help. You also don't feel the "might" of the weapon you are currently using. In BF 1 sounds of weapons were really awesome, here - they are not. It doesn't help the atmosphere.

In BF1 we had one weapon Skin to choose. Now we can choose a skin for each weapon element. It wasn't necessary - it only makes menu harder to manage. Upgrading weapons, however, is nice.

Building walls of sandbags and other entrenchments is a good fun. So is dragging stationary weapons by a truck or other vehicle.

Finally some words about performance - driving vehicles is annoying. They block on each and every tree, rock, stone wall. Some are sliding. Sometimes game is changing into small slide show, where planes and soldiers disappear, only to appear in other place after a second or two later. And i had ping 20. When i first tried to complete Norway campaign, couldn't, due to a bug. ;)

I wasn't happy about political correctness in the game or unhistorical elements. Others have written enough about it, i don't want to.

Some good decisons, some bad.. I think 7 is a fair rating.
    Sorry for possible spelling/grammar mistakes.

It’s far from being ideal but all the glitches and shortcomings don’t ruin the overall fun of Battlefield V’s multiplayer experience. Although the single player portion of the game is not bad at all, I would have been disappointed if I bought the game just for it. [13/2018, p.56]
