    This is garbage - I wouldn't' play it even it's FREE

    I am a rabid fan of BF series and has played though BF1942/2/3/4/Vietnam/1, but I cannot believe DICE made this absolute garbage of a game. It is evident that there is no COHERENT DESIGN in this game. It is NOT WW2. IT HAS NO SOUL. the stories are junk. Multiplayer is no fun. they just re skinned BF1 and even Blatantly recycled map    This is garbage - I wouldn't' play it even it's FREE

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game takes "fast paced" gameplay to an unenjoyable level. Dying so quickly works when respawning is also quick, like Call of Duty. But this game compacts too many elements into not large enough maps.

    Some minor campaign spoilers here.
    The single player campaign? It would've been better just to not have one, than to use the disgusting revisionist versions that were implemented. An entire Norwegian commando team was effectively written out of their own mission, replaced by a "mom and daughter" team that embarked on the mission in ways that don't make sense for reasons that don't make sense at all.

    It also portrays the French as having segregated black soldiers and treated them as less. In actuality, Germans at times would kill all the blacks of captured squads, and there were white French commanders that died for defending their black soldiers. As well some white commanders were killed simply for having black soldiers in their command. This campaign effectively writes ALL of that out of history and portrays the French as just as racist as America was at the time. Revising history to make blacks or women look bad, or taking them out completely and giving credit for accomplishments to someone else simply for their race or gender should NOT be acceptable to any race, white or black, etc, or any gender, man or woman.

    The inclusion of some levels of historical accuracy, enough to know which missions and groups were being portrayed in accordance with the actual WWII, but leaving out and rewriting things to obviously fit an agenda, is just absolutely disgusting to those who did participate in and help out in the war effort.

    Definitely do not buy this game if you haven't already and you respect those who fought in that war. Because this game disrespects them to a great degree, and disrespects history itself, simply to fit the agenda of the game makers. Quite sad.    … Expand

    Ultimate low IQ map design, terrain move your body in prone position, unclimbable surface, spam kill, spam in gary map area, all the taboo a shooter should avoid BF 5 has them all. this game isn't just a full-scale downgrade from BF1, some political correct extremism aside, some of the worst game breaking elements from 90s shooters are back, spam kill, OPed weapon/perks, put you in humanUltimate low IQ map design, terrain move your body in prone position, unclimbable surface, spam kill, spam in gary map area, all the taboo a shooter should avoid BF 5 has them all. this game isn't just a full-scale downgrade from BF1, some political correct extremism aside, some of the worst game breaking elements from 90s shooters are back, spam kill, OPed weapon/perks, put you in human targe area right after an auto base spam(worst in dominant mode) in addition, this game is alot more Unforgiving than BF1, which supposedly welcome, but what's up with the COD shooting dying pace combo with such slow moronic revive animation?? you can die in 1-3 shots, and the dudebro revive animation not only look ret@rded but took 20 hours in another word no 1 revives, thanks to the most moronic map/gameplay design in FPS history, map now is so small where you can easily scope out newly spammed enemy and kill them in 1 shot, not to mention downgraded lifeless destruction absolutely destroyed gameplay, a 20mm anti-aircraft gun can't even bring down a tiny wooden pole so enemy could hide behind it wow!

    enhanced team system? more like nanny of war, you are now far dependable on your teamates over everything. I swear EA put someone with stage 5 brain cancer to design this pile of trash known as battlefield V    … Expand

    I completely recommend Battelfield: Bad Company 2. For a Battlefield game it has a pretty good story......oh! Battlefield V? it's a piece of sht, don't waste your time and money on this one.

The number of women on the WWII front is estimated at less than 1%, the negroes were also a small percentage, but the game indoctrinates the player that these groups played a significant role in this war :D EA did not learn anything from Battlefield I.     Not only does this game make me uncomfortable hearing constant women screaming on the battlefield .. but its an insult to the real heros that died on the battlefield.. EA and Dice should hold their heads in shame.

Add to this a good dose of historical revisionism regarding Operation Grouse, blatant lies about the founding of the SBS and an Americanisation of the attitudes of the French to the Tirailleurs that I just can'tHaving played Battlefield since Battlefield 2 I am incredibly upset with this game.     This game is great I loved it... Pokemon Yellow.. Oh.. Battlefield?? HAhahahaahHahah!!! Thank you EA for insulting my Grandfather who was a Glider Pilot in the battle of the Bulge! Nope.     Planes are broken and can pretty much kill the whole team at the beginning of a game, medics are doomed to play with smg's like wtf dice. Maps are terrible and the WORST part of this game if we can call it a game are the respawns !!! JESUS you can literally respawn on your friends 4 seconds after you died on the exact same spot !!! WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN SMOKIN DICE ? This make the pace of the games horrible as people respawn from everywhere, you take a point the ennemy team respawns behind you but it's ok you can respawn instantly on your squad and so they can like...

    The changes from BF1 might be improvements, but it's still the same core game, if you already own BF1 stick to playing that, because very little has changed and it's not worth your money.

    If this wasn't the BF franchise I might have gone easier on it and given it a 5, but this is a franchise that I've loved since the first game, and to see them ruin it more and more by every itteration since BF3 has earned them no leeway.     - insanely thought out game mechanics (progression system is completely disagreeable, replacing weapons attachments with a CoD perks system, and vehicle progression is haphazard with nonsensical balance of strength, where certain progression paths guarantee an overpowered vehicle, like the Spitfire mk VA left side tree. "Company coins" and its ancestor from BF1 "Warbonds" are just a needless hazing ritual for a new player that serve little to improve gameplay apart from adding grind before unlocking needed perks.

    KEEP AN EYE on company coins as they are not only pure progression currency, but also what you use to purchase skins in the in-game Teen Vogue magaz --ehm, "Armoury". Japan, the US, France, Russia, and Italy forces are not in the game. The weapon selection for the most part sucks and is extremely limited. And seriously....can someone explain to me in what alternate universe did so many women participate inVery disappointed with Battlefield V. The hype did not live up to the product.     Battlefield, unlike its competitor Call of Duty, has always been different is the reliability and realism, and now we are presented with a toy shooter with painted characters. Sucked out of the finger conveyor nonsense that has nothing to do with world War II. And there is a assumption that after the release of Battlefield 5 fans of the franchise sharply diminished.

    It’s far from being ideal but all the glitches and shortcomings don’t ruin the overall fun of Battlefield V’s multiplayer experience. Although the single player portion of the game is not bad at all, I would have been disappointed if I bought the game just for it. [13/2018, p.56]

    In Battlefield V we got back to WW2, but with refined gunplay and death system which works great. There are also little problems such as low number of maps and stability issues, that are taking the fun away, but nothing that can't be fixed.

    A great World War II shooter that will grow and improve. Do not buy the game because of its singleplayer, but if you consider the campaign a bonus to the multiplayer, you will be satisfied. [Issue#291]
