Feels more like a tacked-on "fix" for some issues than a true expansion.

EA have, just as they did with "Battlefield 2," released an unfinished game full to the brim with bugs and annoyances.

Effective, brutal and full of hard-as nails military posture, it's a decent expansion pack to one of the best games of the year.

We expect more for thirty dollars. We want loads of maps, more meaningful lighting, more classes, more new vehicles and maybe a play mode other than Conquest. It's probably worth another tour of duty, but we wouldn't rush to enlist.

The most astute comment I've heard about Battlefield 2 still applies to Special Forces: everything about it sucks except for the actual game.

Players who've enjoyed the Battlefield franchise for its signature rollicking vehicular combat can skip this expansion altogether.
