Armored Fury is the best multiplayer shooter game out there. The original game is just plain fun, and this Armored Fury booster is more icing on the cake.
-
A solid expansion to an already stellar game, one that adds considerable content and strategy without mucking up the core mechanics that made the Battlefield 2 experience so much fun in the first place.
-
The new A-10 Warthog will be worth the purchase price for many, but there is still enough here to keep any fan of Battlefield 2 amused for quite awhile.
-
With three new highly-entertaining maps and several new vehicles (including the tankbusting A-10 Warthog), the extremely affordable, easily downloadable Armored Fury is a must-buy for Battlefield 2 junkies.
-
With some nice added content and balanced gameplay, Armored Fury is a nice booster pack for an already terrific game. Plus, at just 10 bucks, the price is certainly right for fans looking to add more substance.
-
The new vehicles and maps complement the game perfectly.
-
On the booster pack’s first day of release there were plenty of servers running each of the maps, so finding an opportunity to get your money’s worth out of the booster shouldn’t be an issue.
-
By presenting a slightly less intense version of the game, the cooperative mode makes it easier for less experienced players to jump in and see what all the fuss is about. At ten bucks, you can hardly complain.
-
The question here is whether the three new maps -- which are all based on American soil for the first time -- are any good, because really, that's all you're getting. Thankfully, they are. In fact, while one's decent, two are excellent.
-
While there isn't a Karkland or Wake Island classic map in the mix, two of the three maps are actually pretty solid and feature some strong game play if you can get the game to run.
-
PC GamerAvailable online for 10 dollars, Armored Fury is yet another recommended addition to BF2. [Sep 2006, p.44]
-
The bottom line on Armored Fury is this: if you’ve been away from BF2 for a few months, it’s doubtful that a glitchy booster pack will draw you back in.
-
The AI for all of the Battlefield suite is well written, but there's nothing like a human opponent or partner to add spice to the experience.
-
All in all, Battlefield 2: Armored Fury is a fun and challenging addition to the original game, and at a price of only $9.99, it is also highly affordable.
-
Pelit (Finland)Suffers from the same basic flaw as "Euro Forces" did. Servers are not identified, which causes problems for vanilla players, and therefore servers do not use the booster packs. [Aug 2006, p.60]
