    The game is not a simulator but it is dripping in so much authenticity and historical relevance that it makes for a wonderfully rich experience. It is this 'richness' that is why I can recall all of the fun moments I had playing BF1942 when I was younger. This game is the perfect balance between fun and play-ability, yet it is gritty and emotive.

    Positives: - Incredible well optimised.    The game is not a simulator but it is dripping in so much authenticity and historical relevance that it makes for a wonderfully rich experience. This game is the perfect balance between fun and play-ability, yet it is gritty and emotive.

    Positives:
    - Incredible well optimised.
    - Graphics are jaw-droppingly deep.
    - Combat is varied and no one person has the best load out.
    - Guns are a joy to use and their weaknesses become charms or quirks to master.
    - Vehicles are polished to look at and to operate.
    - Weather effects make for a dynamic situational combat. (big maps can become close quarters)
    - Arsenal variety: Gas grenades, Limpet mines, Hatchets, Trip-wires, Air-motors, the list goes on...
    - ...Pigeons.

    Negatives:
    - Multiple variations on the same weapon seem a little misplaced.
    - Class rank unlocks are strange - lots of reward up to 5 and then nothing until 10.
    - Holding to skip revive time is a little frustrating but I see how it benefits the medic class.
    - Price - It's high but for all you get, the phrase 'just take my money' comes to mind.
    P.S. Hold off on Season Pass - Deluxe is enough.

    I wanted to give the review a 9.5 because it is much closer to perfect than a 9 would have you believe. The critic score of 88 is spot on.

    I was a bit on the fence when I played the BETA, I'm not sure why they picked the worst map for that. After seeing the reviews and picking up the game, I can say it's by far the best BF game yet! The 4 distinct campaigns are fantastic, and the new multiplayer gamemode "Operations" is the best thing to ever happen to the BF series.

    Just the shot in the arm this franchise needed. Ok it's not accurate to the tech of 1911-1918 but who cares? The change up in weapon accuracy and vehicle speed/firepower was just what BF needed.

    All I can say is just.....WOW! Best looking shooter in the last few years and by far the best battlefield game yet. (or at least since BF Bad Company 2) For the first time it looks like Dice nailed a perfect single player campaign too.

    Best BF experience since BFBC2. This game is one of the few online FPS experiences that actually has feeling/emotion in it. From the flames burning up a screaming shotgunner to the bomber pilots jeering to each other after a successful bombing run. Well worth the money and if you are a fan of FPS or multiplayer you should pick it up.

    Great addition to the Battlefield franchise. Brings me back the the original 1942 game. It shows the savagery and carnage of WWI. No high tech gadgets to rely on is a welcome change from the other games. Graphics are amazing as is the sound. Calling it a Battlefront clone is an injustice.     Dice redeemed themselves from Battlefront. Brought back building destruction they left out from Battlefield 4 (levolution is boring). Amazing game filled with dense urban to sprawing montain maps, audio captures the chaos and humanity of war perfectly.

Washington mail or whatever theyre called, worst game is amazing. Most fun ive ever had on an online game EVER.     fantastic game! Immersive, engaging, realistic! perfect graphs! Masterpiece! Worthy of 100. I would judge as the best of all the series. I'm delighted.

    I've played all the battlefield games (excluding the Battlefront games) since 1942, and I gotta say that even though this game sin't the one I've spent most hours on (I've grown up :)) it is by far the best Battlefield game ever made. The graphics, the sound, the immersion, the game modes, the weapons, everything has just been perfected. Even the single player campaign is excellent and itI've played all the battlefield games (excluding the Battlefront games) since 1942, and I gotta say that even though this game sin't the one I've spent most hours on (I've grown up :)) it is by far the best Battlefield game ever made. The graphics, the sound, the immersion, the game modes, the weapons, everything has just been perfected. Even the single player campaign is excellent and it alone is worth the buy.     This is by far the best Battlefield campaign (except for the Bad Company games). There are several amazing short stories that aren't as historically accurate as I had hoped, but they are still amazing stories and gameplay is fantastic!

    10/10 Best singleplayer in years!

    My only advice is to try the game.
    Well written stories, best i can remember in a game.
    Multiplayer needs balancing mostly on sniper cap. ( that is one of the main reasons i didnt give a 10)

    I am an avid PC gamer, and have tried almost every shooter under the sun, for some reason, this game has really stuck chord in me. The gameplay is exactly how we would expect from a BF game, and although the nature of the weapons make them less precise than their modern counterparts, it seems they are finely tuned and are very rewarding to master.

    I also to want to mention how incredibly well optimized this game is. I have a 1070, and an i7 4790k, and obviously play on ultra without breaking a sweat, but the GF has an older gen i5, and an HD radeon 6900 series, and is able to play on low at ~60fps. I honestly have no idea how they pulled it off. It's miraculous. I would contend that the game is possibly the most well optimized game, pound for pound, that has been released in the last 9 years.    … Expand

    The best release from BF BC 2, the game is just awesome...., playing with a old gtx 680 and i have good performance playing this, no problems with drop fps or something all run ok and nice.

    Amazing great high pace game , wonderful high end graphics, well optimized with high FPS rate, game play is really great weapons animation of weapon reloading is great too, killing enemies is really niceeeeee, many graphics options is really good and can control the FPS and increase a lot by some modification.
    this is the best FPS war game since COD 2 & 3

    This game currently offers The best online experience overall - the gameplay, the tech, the community. Some minor bugs do still exist in the game, unfortunately, but I can easily disregard them. One of the greatest.

Even the single player campaign is passable, with decent, challenging (though maybe a bit too challenging) gameplay and genuinely powerful, human moments. The ambience is somber, archaic, and perfect. The only major flaw is that nearly every gun is locked at theI love this game. Truly a breath of fresh air and truly a piece of art. I miss the old set up where faction specific weapons for available right from the getgo, to add to the variety and ambience.     One of the best battlefield games ever made. One of the best video games ever made. I've had so many immersive, unsettling(in a good way, insane moments in just less than 24 hours of playing. I know now what it might have been like to be a soldier back then and be surrounded by your dead friends trying to hold a position with no end in sight. Bombs everywhere.     Just pure fun. Great Graphics. Sure, its not a simulator, nor an accurate depiction of WW1. Mostly all soldiers had bolt action rifles. It's a VIDEO GAME! and a very fun one. Playing with friends is the way to go.

    Sure, it won't simulate the WWI but it will give you the atmosphere of WWI.

    The Story is really good, the best BF Story in my opinion. And of course the Multiplayer is also really cool.

It's so refreshing to be able to use guns that have flaws and recoil, you can no longer snipe with assault rifles or LMGs, and the scout class has moved away from a camping class (although I acknowledge people still use it for that) but has    Next generation shooter, with the details that have made Battlefield so popular to many players.

    This game hands down has THE BEST single player campaing ive played in years. Also probably the shortest but i do prefer it to pretty much anything ive seen from a first person shooter in quite a while. Graphics gorgeous, story ... incredibly moving and told in a more adult manner than just a chain of headshots and explosions. Multiplayer notbmuch change there but the era makes it 10 timesThis game hands down has THE BEST single player campaing ive played in years.
