Telltale Games still did a fine job of making their OWN Batman/Bruce Story. Unlike others, they did not only focus on The Dark Knight but also highlighted the man behind the mask as well as other characters which are usually ignored or isn't touch upon in the batman universe and some known villains and characters that they changed that fits their story. I really cant say anything about the story that wont spoil but I can guarantee that if you are a die hard batman fan and you want something fresh and new. Then take it. My only issue is that the decision making part of the game doesnt really change much in the story. Regardless, A great score of 9/10.

Gameplay - As a interactive Story-Driven game, gameplay is not their forte as well I had doubts at firs on how they could execute batman's action scenes. However, I was surprised and really am impressed how they executed the action scenes in this game decently. Its fun, cool and fair. Though I would have preffered more difficulty in it, they still did that aspect well. The stealth and strategy sequence of the game is also interesting and fresh that is showed in that genre. Thus, a score of 7/10.

Graphics - Well, this is the part where Telltale really struggles. Despite the obvious improvement in their graphics, fps and lighting due to a better engine. It is still disappointing or below average in this generation of games. The classic Telltale stutters that you see in their games is still in here as well as the fps drops in certain cutscenes and dont forget that occasional awkward body motion or movements you will see during its scenes. In addition, the character designs of their characters and environments are still on the negative even though you could consider them as improvement. Overall, It is an improvement but is still bad. A bad score of 3/10.

Sound - First is the voices, It is really good. Troy Baker's voice acting is truly top notch on how he could change to a calm and collected voice of Bruce to the monotone rugged pitch of Batman. Other good voice acting is also performed from almost everyone in the character line up that fits their persona, the only one in my opinion I have reservations is to the Joker. As to sound, I liked the intro sound that comes out at the first and last part of the episodes though I cant say this part is good because it isnt put well inside the episodes there are parts in the action scenes that is awkward cause there are no music played and some sounds are delayed in certain parts of the game. Overall, a decent score of 6/10

Fun Factor - As someone who loved Batman media (Im a big fan of Dark Knight Trilogy and also played all of the Arkham Series games.) I have first doubted if Telltale can make a Batman that can be distinguished from the titles I mentioned in terms of gameplay and story. But alas, my doubts been extinguished since I really like how they made an original story of Batman while maintaing the core parts of the plot they also added their own twists in the game which didnt hurt the story, in fact, it made it even more interesting. On the gameplay side, I liked the action sequence they made as well as other aspects like the stealth, the Boss fights are pretty plain though. Overall, I really enjoyed Telltale's version of Batman and it is distinguishable to the others. A good score of 8/10.

I just finished it and overall I enjoyed it, episodes 2 and 5 especially. Visually there's a noticeable bump from the older games due to Batman using Telltale's updated engine (not new, but improved). The QTE fight scenes flowed well and were enjoyable, kicking butt as Batman was satisfying. The voice work was top notch as always. The bottom line is Batman is a good Telltale game hurt by the usual technical issues that plague all Telltale games, so if you're a long time Telltale fan you'll be right at home.

Play very rhythmic, cartoon graphics, beautiful voiceovers. Frantic and pressing original story perhaps too original. Once started is the desire to never break away to know the continuation of the story and what will happen. Excellent mix of QTE and dialogues. only many flaws in the secondary plots.

Batman – The Telltale Series is probably the best version of the Batman story I've experienced in any media: the multiple plot twists, tragic villains you feel sorry for and the exploration of the thin line between good and evil are really what makes the game stand out. Unfortunately, the game does suffer from what every Telltale adventure I've played since The Walking Dead suffers from which includes laggy animations, lip-synching issues and audio issues. If the game were better polished, it would've received a higher score but even in its current state, I would still recommend it.

Playing the new walking dead at the time of righting just further illustrates the amount of care, both to the story and the technical side of things, is vastly different between these two games. It could be due to the fact that this series was rushed.

    Pros:
    1. Good Batman atmosphere, Bruce Wayne is even more fun to play.
    2. Not a retread of a familiar story, the lore is changed somewhat allowing you a fresh experience while still feeling true to the essence of Batman. (Would suck if we had another Hush or Arkham Knight kind of twist where fans would see it coming).
    3. Visual style is nice, voice acting is on point

    Cons:
    1. Runs like diarrhea. Scenes just feel like someone is inserting a DVD in between interactions. Fight scenes that have this pause between camera switches completely break the enjoyment.
    2. Illusion of choice is always a telltale issue, but I almost never felt my choices mattered here. There's no weight to any decisions, even if they pretend there is.
    3. Gameplay is hilariously bad, even for a game based on quick time events (I enjoy telltale, so I knew what I was getting myself into). There's a gameplay mode that literally asks you to pick what you want to do, watch a quick little cut scene of it happening, and once you're done choosing all your cutscenes, it plays the QTEs. This is not gameplay, this is just work. On top of that the detective parts require zero thinking and just linking obviously related objects which allow Batman to inexplicably figure out things in ridiculous ways.
    4. Character interactions: Just awful. You can see certain characters arcs and the thoughts that would lead to their arcs very obviously. There's nothing you can do to stop the inevitable from happening. Interacting with Catwoman is just cringe worthy, with some of the choices making me feel like Telltale is predicting what their target audience wants in very cynical ways. Interactions with Alfred are basically just reassuring him over and over that he's family. Illusion of choice is very strong here.
    5. Pacing: This is where the game falls apart. The episodes follow a very formulaic design where you can see what's coming next easily. The game focuses on uninteresting characters like the main villain while more personal conflicts are just swept under the rug. The game plays it too safe, and rush through way too much detail at the last second to give the finale any real weight.

It has it's moments, and it's hardly awful, but this is more like Game of Thrones (barely acceptable cash in) rather than their more polished and enjoyable Walking Dead/Wolf Among Us/Borderlands series.

Most of the bugs and technical issues I saw back when the first episode was out got fixed, the game keeps the resolution, bugs and glitches, although still there, aren't as prevalent and they've fixed the controller issues on PC. Nice. Now bugs are mostly reserved for animations, like Batman's head looking to his let for a whole episode, to the point where it looked like he had a broken neck. Funny, but didn't happen after I tried to get it again to get a screenshot, so... good.
Graphics look dated, animations are stiff and really funny (walk animations are just laughable!). In game assets are being reused for different locations and that's distracting. Sometimes audio just cuts off, that awkward silence, sometimes lip syncing is so bad that people talk without opening their mouths, sometimes dialogues refer to options I didn't pick in previous episodes, yet are considered as something I did anyway... There is a lot of bad here, but the meat is the story and characters...
Story is predictable and boring, at this point perhaps, I'm too familiar with Batman to be surprised by anything. Characters don't look like anything you've seen, the designs aren't from any known incarnation of Batman making them rather forgettable and bland. Harvey Dent doesn't look like a district attorney but more like an athlete, Oswald Cobblepot is British despite being from Gotham and looks like any normal guy would, no deformities we associate with Penguin are present. Okay, the cast looks like they belong in Archer, Perhaps Telltale wanted to make a game in Archer universe, but got Batman instead...? The story and plot point are predictable and, in my opinion, too much is crammed into it. Did we really needed Two-Face so soon? Wouldn't it be better to keep him as Harvey, build up a relationship with Bruce then use Two-Face in season 2? The only character that faithful to the original is Catwoman and she's a blast whenever she's on screen, be it in costume or not.
Overall, it's not bad, not great either. Telltale, at this point, should start changing their way, improving upon the formula that gave then success, yet they prefer to stick to what works, washing down all the good will build up until now. They need better writers and new animators, perhaps stop relying on QTE for action sequences and implement more player driven mechanic. I think Batman is a prime example of Telltale running out of creativity... I won't say to re-found this, but get it only if you're a huge Batman fan or if it's cheap as dirt. I got it as a gift from a friend as I would never buy it myself.

They’re not for everyone but for those that enjoy them they are always a bar for quality. Given my love for the Batman character and world I was overjoyed to see a Batman game in this genre. With the exception of one part it met my expectations and then some. The story and characters are fantastic. The game did a great job of taking established characters and finding new ways to use them or tweak their back stories and make them feel fresh. Messing with established canon could have been what sunk this game if done wrong but I can’t think of a part I would criticize or didn’t enjoy. Penguin; Vicky Vale; Selina Kyle; Harvey Dent; Gordon; the list goes on; I enjoyed how they were all presented. I also loved how this batman could be played as just a tad more brutal than some interpretations. Between roughing up suspects and the fights themselves being more brutal than in some previous Batman games I was happy with the style. I especially liked how in some larger fights you could plan out your attack by linking objects to people so you had some freedom of choice in the fights although sometimes it was more linear. The voice acting was fantastic across the board. The graphics style was mostly what you would expect from Telltale. It had a good style and use of colours but I wills say the hair detail on some characters was poor as was some injury details. For instance in one scene Bruce is applying bandages to his shoulder after a fight and they are coming off bloody but his body itself had no blood. Clothing and water detail were especially good and stood out. The puzzles with the exception of a couple were great. You had to link items to get a full picture of what happened at the scene. A couple times the objects linked made no sense to me but it was trial and error and the majority of them could be solved by logic. One other thing I will mention is that you are going to want to use a Telltale account while playing. I learned the hard way that in future Telltale Batman games you can’t simply import your save game file that it has to be done using cloud saves or by manually saying which choices you picked in this game. I hadn’t remembered my choices from years ago so that’s why I replayed this now. The controls were decent although having combos of “Shift + Q/E” at times were annoying.

I played Batman: A Telltale Series on Linux using Wine. The game never crashed on me and I didn’t notice any bugs. What I did notice however was some of the worst optimization I have ever encountered. At times the game would drop to 0 FPS and there was a near constant state of sluggish, jittery moments. Even when the frame rate was well above 60 it could feel that way. Furthermore this wasn’t a Wine issue as when I first bought this game years ago I encountered the same problems on Windows. This also means that, in the over four years since release, this issue was never solved or patched by the developers which is shameful. The game also uses way more system resources than something of it’s visual quality should. Previous Telltale games didn’t have this issue so I’m not sure why Batman does. There are 3 AO settings; an AA toggle and 2 other graphics options to adjust. You can pause the game at any time but can’t skip cut scenes. Alt-Tab doesn’t work. The Telltale account for cloud saves worked just fine in Wine on Linux.

Graphics Engine: Telltale Tool version 27
    Game Version Played: 1.0.0.1
    Input Used: Keyboard and Mouse
    Disk Space Used: 13.8 GB

Settings Used: All High; DOF Off; AA On; 1080P
    GPU Usage: 0-100 %
    VRAM Usage: 1489-3857 MB
    CPU Usage: 6-34 %
    RAM Usage: 2.5-3.4 GB
    Frame Rate: 2-144 FPS

Outside of the terrible optimization this was a fantastic game. My gut wants to give it a low score because of how it ran but it was too damn good and fun to do that. If you enjoy Telltale games or the Batman series this should have something for you. I finished all five episodes in 7 hours and 37 minutes which felt like a good length.

    My Score: 9/10

Aside from the usual Telltale fun you get from their games, Batman reveals an extremely good writing and story telling from the bottom up, which for me made this title completely satisfying. The other thing I loved about the game was characters and how well they had been portrayed in the game.
I also encountered with some minor problems. For example saving all the action for last episode wasn't a good idea; Defeating all those enemies in a single 1-hour-long episode, ruined the game's pace in my opinion.
Animations were buggy at some points and weren't improved comparing to The Wolf Among Us.
Also the 'choice illusion' was so annoying. None of the choices really affect the story.
To conclude, Batman The Telltale Series was an interesting 8-hours-long journey and I really enjoyed it despite some minor issues. I'd give it a score of 7.5.

The game is a great batman story with lots of alternate choices and quick time events. I always enjoy these types of games because the story is usually great. The graphics are great even though it's a cartoony art style, its unique and I think it works for all telltale games.

Honestly on the weaker side in terms of Telltale's games. Found that choices in their games have never mattered less than they do here. The lack of relevance in your choices is peppered all over the place. From more important aspects of the narrative to smaller things.

Did you handle a thug in the most non-violent way possible? Didn't hit them with a pipe or break their limb when you could've? Alfred will still grill you for five minutes afterward about "beating that man half to death." It's stuff like that all over the place and it makes it a bit tough to be immersed. The entire point of these games is for your choices to have some impact, and they really, really do not here. This has always been a problem with Telltale games, but it's never been more noticeable.

There's a really surprisingly good story here. But I almost wish it was just a straight-up episodic series or something without any faux "immersion" in terms of choices that literally have zero impact on anything. I don't want to play a game I have almost no actual control over. It kind of defeats the purpose.

I enjoyed the experience and the game has a surprising villain. Still a telltale game so it is a bit awkward in parts.

Has a solid narrative with some engaging spins on the mythos. Really gives you a great choice system making interactions with icons always interesting but unfortunately it’s gameplay feels like an afterthought to the story making its quick time events and puzzles more of a stop in the well written story.

Сам, не любитель интерактивного кинца, но все равно решил попробовать. В итоге; это игра на разок, некоторых местах, можно получить удовольствие от прохождения.

I was never truly drawn to story-based games, although I did appreciate them; my heart belonged to competitive multiplayer. That all changed when I stumbled upon Cryaotic, a fantastic YouTuber whose series had me hooked. But it was one particular series that broke the mold for me, making me pick up Batman: The Telltale Series. This game blew my mind with its ability to let me craft my own story, engage in dialogues with characters, and make life-altering choices. Batman: The Telltale Series has earned an everlasting spot in my heart. In fact, it was this very game that introduced me to the world of Telltale games, and for that, I'll be eternally grateful.

The experience of playing Batman: The Telltale Series was truly unique. It felt as if I had stepped into a real-life movie, assuming the role of the "real" protagonist and steering the narrative with my answers and choices. It was an exhilarating feeling. Every character was carefully crafted, and the entire game exuded a polished, high-quality finish.

I must admit, I didn't expect this game to offer completely divergent routes that would overhaul the whole storyline from A to Z. However, the choices did matter, albeit to a certain extent. They shaped the way the story was told while keeping the core idea intact. And you know what? I didn't find that disappointing at all. Some choices carried more weight, influencing the long-term, while others affected only short-term outcomes. The beauty lay in never being certain which decision would lead to which consequence. Characters changed, their interactions with you transformed, scenes unfolded differently - the possibilities were vast. I cherished the opportunity to mold Batman/Bruce according to my own personality and desires. Nonetheless, consequences did loom over every decision, and that's something not to be forgotten. Although we're not talking about alternate dimensions where Batman fights aliens in Budapest, the impact of some choices is still pretty significant. Nonetheless, certain elements remain constant, yet the game weaves such a compelling web that it's hard to discern which ones they are.

Gameplay-wise, there's nothing groundbreaking to boast about. Each episode offered brief segments where I controlled Batman or Bruce, solving puzzles or engaging in various activities. Occasionally, I got to interact with objects, and the dialogue choices gameplay was a key part of the experience. And let's not forget the Quick-Time events, which surprisingly, I enjoyed quite a bit - and I'm not usually a fan of them in most games. Admittedly, the gameplay lacked significant challenges, but that wasn't the main focus anyway. Batman: The Telltale Series thrives on delivering an immersive story rather than challenging boss battles. As a result, this game is accessible and enjoyable for almost anyone. Even my girlfriend, who usually sticks to smartphone games, got swept up in this adventure.

Oh, by the way, let's clear one thing up: Batman: The Telltale Series is not just another adaptation of the original Batman universe. It is an entirely separate entity, standing firmly on its own ground. This means you don't need an ounce of prior knowledge about Batman. You can dive into this game without any influence from previous Batman experiences.

In conclusion, Batman: The Telltale Series is an unforgettable journey of choice and adventure. It transformed a multiplayer enthusiast like me into an avid fan of story-driven games. The power to shape the narrative and the richness of the characters truly make this game shine. While not a gameplay revolution, its focus on storytelling allows virtually anyone to savor this gripping tale. So, if you've ever yearned to become the Batman and explore a captivating world of choices, consequences, and self-discovery, this game is an absolute must-play.

As an 8-10 hour TV mini-series on Batman with an adult story, this is really good. Instead of most of the Batman animated series' and movies that are at times just too childish. It's a new take, keeps some mystery behind the antagonist and in the end was a good watch.

But as a video game this is nothing more than a 1/10. You can barely call this a video game. Even walking-sims have more interaction. This is 95% watching the story play out, with the odd selection of what you want to say but often ends up not even accurately being what you selected (standard in Telltale games). Then you have the linking of clickable objects while Batman/Bruce rambles on with his clues, and basic as hell QTE's during fight sequences. Often I just let things play out, I couldn't even be bothered, while I scrolled my phone.

I didn't intend to sit through an interactive movie, I want to play a game. For this reason I wasn't really saddened when Telltale closed down because all their games are exactly like this. They needed a wakeup call, it's just not good enough putting such little effort into a video game when you're given such awesome franchises. Even the last Arkham game had much better detective mini-games, and that's a third-person hack and slash. This is just a sit back and watch interactive story with the laziest attempt at interaction ever made in a video game.

But, they do always tell great stories. I just hope Telltale v2 is able to put some more fun into their future games.

If you can accept the studio's adventure game formula and the fairly large deviations to the canon, then Batman: The Telltale Series is a good game. The story remains gripping, and the additions to the gameplay formula make this feel more refined over the studio's previous efforts. The lack of further technical polish, however, is unfortunate; fixing those issues would've placed this game in the upper echelon of the studio's offerings. As it stands, Batman fans will certainly want to check out this title.
