Baba is You is among the most seriously arduous games of its kind I’ve played, and when its rules are clear and its instructions legible, it’s gratifying in a way only hardcore suffering can be.

  1. Baba Is You is immediately completely superb, a puzzle game where you literally rewrite the rules as you play.

Most of the hate this game gets is from people who think that it is a "troll" game or that certain levels are impossible. But that is the beauty of this game. Some levels just feel impossible, and you have to keep trying new and wild concepts.

When all else fails, experimentation will show you something that you had no idea could happen. Then all of a sudden, your mind is flooded with new ideas to try.

If you don't mind getting stumped, then definitely give this game a try. I still can't believe I finally beat "Heist." That level blows my mind. I thought I was going crazy, but what I did actually worked after a solid half hour.

I really don't get the appeal. Sure, it's a creative game and it's fun. But that only lasts for about an hour, max two. After the first threeI really don't get the appeal. Sure, it's a creative game and it's fun. But that only lasts for about an hour, max two. After the first three worlds, the puzzles and their solutions become really far-fetched and I've found myself in a lot of situations where I came up with a solution that should have worked, but didn't.

Ultimately it's just a pretty average puzzle game that happens to have a thoughtful design and good music. It overstays its welcome and should have focused on more quality, less quantity.
