Beautiful game, BORING world, ZERO detail, side quest farm and so on. If you want to play a real open world game rich with story and details then kingdom come deliverance is much much much better.

Coming from Kingdome come deliverance to this is such a huge letdown. Origins is a candy eye beautiful game with the sweet graphic but boring world with ZERO detail. The side quest farming just to advance in main story is such just too boring. Wait for sale or pirate this game

The game is designed using 'free-to-pay' model. Player either spend 1000 hours to farm level enough to pass level check to access STORY MISSION. Or pay additional 100$ to get to that level instantly.

Many people complained about the new combat system. While I'm not a huge fan of it either, I'd say it's an improvement over the combat system in the previous AC games, especially Unity.

All in all, in my opinion, this is the best game in the entire franchise.

Had zero issues with this after 30+ hours of gameplay. Easily the most accessible AC title in the series. Graphics look amazing on my i7700k with a GTX1080Ti and I've never had a single crash. Rarely get a little choppy cut scene but nothing that bothers me.

This is definitely one of the best game of 2017, and probably the best Assassins creed game if not second best. Assassins creed origins has ditched that outdated forumlar and has dipped into many game series for inspiration which has created this great game, it has combat influence from dark souls, open world influence from the witcher 3 and detailed open world influence from mafia 2. With all these features its hard not to like this game, the only problem I had with this game was the terrible pc port which i looked past. If ubisoft was able to optimise their games like dice then this game would of been next level. overall I am very happy with this game! 9/10. Expand

The graphics are excellent, the movement physics and stuff is improved on previous AC titles, but the fighting is simple brawling and the missions and plot are repetitive and boring. At first I was intrigued by levelling up my gear, but that's all done now and I'm barely halfway through the game. It was cool to see the pyramids, and explore some tombs, but just doing essentially just more of the same stuff over and over with no challenge or useful rewards is disheartening (gaining xp to level up is only necessary because the level system is so wonky, attack someone a few levels higher than you and you barely do any damage at all while they can one shot kill you) so gaining xp feels less like a reward and more like a forced grind so you can continue.
Kudos to the graphical design teams and artists, the world is beautiful and it ran smoothly on my pc mostly, but the game itself gets boring and repetitive quickly, and it's just not fun or challenging (yes I could go and fight enemies ten levels above me and slowly wear them down for a challenge, but after putting 300hrs into Nioh, the fighting in this game is abysmally boring and simple). I've seen people say you should use different attack styles to make it interesting, but, why bother? when I can just hack up the enemies, why bother being stealthy? it's not a challenge it's just slower. Why even bother hacking them up when I can just use a magical guided arrow to kiil them one by one? I'll just hack em up anyway, it's quicker...
I can't honestly recommend this game. I was hoping for another black flag, but this isn't it.

AC Origins is a good game: the environment, graphics (you need a good computer), voice actors are really good. I wanted to continue with witcher 3, and this game is close to it (75% close to it). The story is ok; you have to read all the things to really enjoy it at max.

The problem is the immersion breaking mechanics : -close to a main quest ? : "use your eagle !" every time ! no way

Normally soldiers get alerted when they see bodies but if you return a good while later you can see them carrying the dead bodies.
Tons of ease of use like easy to tag enemies using eagle, boats and camels are fast, easy fast travel and passage of time at will, impressive variety of weapons and playstyles e.g. Predator bows are radically different to multi wield bows etc.

Though the pure mechanics do not see any solidifying change. The 'life' of the game still feels like it a floating glitch within an otherwise excellent world. NPC's are dry, even though they have plenty to do and say. But does that damper the game play as a whole?

No. ACO is as fun, and to me much more fun, than previous AC titles for it masters the art of fluent and consistent achievement. Taking over camps, looting treasure and defeating enemies is a blast in splurges. Climbing to the top of a view point is exhilarating even though not every jump is how you intended. The story is MEH at best. Though I loved seeing historical characters come to life, even if it was a slapped on personality version of that character. Let us just say the story is NOT why I am still playing. It is the world, the vastness and immediate reward I get when exploring and clearing off the map.

Combat. Fun, and only fun, when you get used to the mechanics. I played with KB+M and it was fine after making some switches on the dodge action keys. HINT: Double tap to dodge is WAY better than wasting your space bar. Use that for climbing.

Overall, as always with AC, I'm having a blast and am waiting for the repetition effect to take hold. That is why I usually never finish these types of games. It is a kick to play and explore while fresh yet 20 hours in I'm like, "no thanks, did that about a hundred and one times already. For longevity, there MUST be a captivating story and lore. This is why I am still playing the Witcher 3 to this day.

Let me finish by saying that is one of the most gorgeous games I ever came across. And the fact that it is historically accurate makes me even happier. I will continue to read and explore regions as a role play in the zestiest of my ancestors regardless of action game play.

    RECOMMEND!

It's a witcher in ancient Egypt with remarkable attention to details and atmosphere. I did not expect such a great game from the Asssasins series. I am truly surprised. Yes there are a few bugs, for example in two locations I experienced problems with unnatural brightness in the caverns and once I got stuck, but apart from that everything runs fluent and without glitches. Still some Textures are slowly loading in and they mostly look blurred. The Quests are somewhat okay but i don't like them personally.

Microtransactions and ingame shop - im not gonna point out that this is pitiful.

Apart from the good graphics/performace & story, i usually get bored after like 1-2hours of playing. I mainly try to reveal the map and discover stuff/collectibles. So im not doing much Quests..

If i'd aim for the main story i would probably have more fun but the A.I is pretty bad and the missions are quite repetitive.

But like other reviews said : The Game is too massive, too large. - i do like games with good content like Witcher 3 (replayed 3x on 100%) but not if its uncreative and stretched.

In my opinion the game is worth like 20-30€. I do recommend using a trainer/unlocker for the ingame shop items though.

The best thing about this game is the stunningly beautiful world the developers have created, probably my favourite open world I've ever played. Everything in this world feels like it was crafted with immense love for detail and history. Exploring tombs or just random ruins is really fun thanks to the amount of detail they've put in.

The story in the game is not the best, but it makes you care about the characters and you can understand why they do what they do. It's a decent story overall, it just felt a bit short. If it had more buildup and a bigger ending, I think it would have helped it become better.

One thing that is new with this game is the combat. In the beginning, it felt quite dull and I didn't really enjoy it, but after playing a few hours and testing different weapons I came to enjoy it. Not the best combat I've ever experienced but a lot of fun nonetheless. It also gives just tons of approaches and options to each quest, which made the side quest more diverse. Side questing, however, was mostly the same thing over and over.

I think this game deserves at least and 8, but I'm going for a 9 because I loved the open world so much.

The revamped combat system paired with the totally new approach to the open world exploration make this title the biggest stand-out in the series since the original. A complete shift in focus from hollywood-style, low-interaction mechanics to grounded and highly mechanical interactions breathe fresh life into a dead series.

It's a shame they didn't try to extend this approach to their incredible yet boring climbing system, or the press-one-button-and-win stealth mechanics, or the now-non-existent ai crowds (which in this one are smaller and less interactive than any AC title ever. It's actually the largest disappointment with the game). Even in the midst of conflicting game design choices, the real standout of the game is the side-quests, which are incredibly rich and reminiscent of Witcher 3 in their depth. Lastly, this is probably the most photogenic game I've ever played. Every square of this game manages to visually impress.

At the end of the day, what stops this from being a ten is the fact that other decrepit systems in the game weren't reworked, and that encounter variety is lacking. They did a good job with making human enemy combatants diverse, but the animals fail to bring any diversity. Aligators should be scary ambushers, hippos should be terrifying stampeding beasts, and leopards should stalk players from trees. instead every animal behaves EXACTLY the same, repeating the most toxic and boring playstyle ever: spam unblockable attacks. There is one cookie cutter method of beating them and it applies to every animal in the game. I often just wished they were able to shake it up a little more. I loved that they added a DESPERATELY needed difficulty choice, I immediately went with hard and wasn't disappointed. AC games have consistently failed to make the player feel like an assassin because the player is given so much power. I desperately miss the chase sequences at the end of each assassination in AC1 where you had to run for life from the entire town.

For those complaining about DRM, I actually didn't notice it. I thought the game ran quite well as my 1070 was getting a solid 50 fps on max settings at 90% of 4k. It runs better than Witcher 3 for me and doesn't look any worse either. Perhaps having the game installed on an NVMe flash memory drive is what made the difference. I'm adding this game to a personal and growing list of fantastic games getting ripped to pieces for technicalities that don't really matter, although this is probably the best one on the list.

What I want to see from this franchise moving forward is taking the same approach they applied to combat, and apply it to stealth, climbing, and the ai crowds. Stealth should be more interactive, guards should be more aware of their surroundings, bases should have fewer avenues of entry, sound and light should matter. Up the number and complexity of decisions the player needs to make to be successful so that they actually feel rewarded when they perfect stealth that huge fort. Make climbing more grounded, AC already has all of the hard work done to facilitate the most incredible of any game, their node-based traversal system in inctricate and has amazing animations, but actually traversing it should be more interactive. There is an entire sport of rock climbing that they can borrow mehcanics from. implement a climbing system where moves have difficulty and the players have stamina and momentum. This adds another component for the player to master and can make climbing to sync points and running away form guards far more interesting. lastly the crowds should always have some kind of impact on the player. Make each ai slightly different. Maybe some would decide to aid you in a fight, maybe some would turn on you. Maybe some recognize you and rat you out. Maybe add a wanted level on the player or add events that make ai behave differently. Maybe There's some holiday where the crowds get bigger and pay less attention, or maybe something the player did scared all the ai crowds into hiding in their homes and streets are empty and quiet. You could add sooo much encounter variety by simply mixing up the context in which the encounters happen, and revamping the crowd system is an easy way to accomplish that.

This killer holiday in Egypt is definitely no boring. On the contrary, it is a pleasant excursion to the times, when the sphinx had a nose, and mysterious killers did not call themselves assassins. You cannot find a nicer version of an Ancient Egypt in any other game, and up to it it’s entertaining. A modest family story affects the whole empire at the end, and you will forgive a handful of bugs to its charismatic heroes, as well as the fact, that you have played the same pattern so many times, just in another scenery.

Ubisoft Montreal managed to make Egypt not only beautiful, but extremely atmospheric.
