    This game is just stupidly epic and the best of the series by far. Anyone who says it's an Origins re-skin or DLC needs to lay off the crack. It blows Origins out of the water in terms of the sheer scale of it and how much there is to do. I've honestly never seen an open world game this big and beautiful with so much in it. Add the new RPG element to that and you've got one of the bestThis game is just stupidly epic and the best of the series by far. Anyone who says it's an Origins re-skin or DLC needs to lay off the crack. It blows Origins out of the water in terms of the sheer scale of it and how much there is to do.     I'm just at like 30% of the story but until now I'm hooked.     I'm eager to know what Ubisoft got for us for it's next AC game.
    I gave it a score of 9 because in every mission I have to be in a specific level forcing me to do side quests that are pretty repetitive.
    What stunned me are the location and the beautiful graphics overall, and to me I thought Origins had insane graphics but Odyssey is even better.
    To me, it's not an intirely an assassin's Creed game but it's a change of fresh air, and I loved it.
    Hopefully the next AC will be more towards the Assassin's Creed genre, until then, Ubisoft did an amazing work, hands down.
    Just didn't give a score of 10 because of the forced side quests but a 9 is well deserved.    … Expand

    Just loved this game. Loved Kassandra and the quirky and funny stories she got involved with. Greatly enjoyed the assassin abilities and skills and loved, loved loved all the lovely weapon and armour designs. Such a beautifully crafted game and such a treat for the eyes especially for someone living in gloomy and rainy old Ireland. Locations are really stunning, it was a joy to quest andJust loved this game. Loved Kassandra and the quirky and funny stories she got involved with. I thought they were lovely and I greatly enjoyed trying out all the flirt options. My Kassandra was a bit of a 'romeo' (wink wink nudge nudge :D)
    I really cant fault this game and I played all the dlc as well. Worth every penny to my mind. I can't wait for the next one now as if this is the direction AC games are going I'm a convert.    … Expand

    Simply an amazing game. Hands down of one the best open world games ever created. Designed so well with so much enjoyable content. Truly a masterpiece that will be remembered. The biggest compliant regarding this game is that there is too much content. How hilariously sad is that when supposed gamers are literally saying there is too much game for their money these days.

    The pathetic excuse for gamers these days is unbelievable, millennials have no idea what a gaming experience is about, we grew up with 2D side scrollers and they were classed as A rated games and the big things about them were finding the glitches and mistakes from the developers which added more fun to the games.

    Games today have huge open worlds to explore and i suppose the big problem with all new gamers is the aspect you may also learn something along the way, you seem to expect the game to feed you in a way that i would like to see you do better, go back to the first AC title then come back to this one to see the massive changes the franchise has made, to hate on a business for doing what they do which is MAKE GAMES is so stupid it boggles the mind you have no idea the man hours that go into making something that is designed for fun.

    Assassin's Creed Odyssey is easily one of the best games of 2018 without a shadow of a doubt, it has great aspects from Origins and then added more and set in a beautiful recreation of Greece, and if anyone listened during history at school or educated themselves has such a captivating focus on the history of Greece, from the Diplomacy of Athens created by Pericles to the fall of the city due to the plague and tainted grain from Sparta.

    The game also lets you explore rather than spoon feed you all the missions (it's how i found the Minotaur by pure fluke) which makes it a fantastic adventure.

    The Helix credits... i have bought non and guess what you can still enjoy the game, these things are put there for players who like to add something to their games but not at any point does it feel forced or pushed on you to do, and the grind is not bad at all, if anything its lesser than Witcher 3 in that respect.

    Unless you're playing on a potato this game plays flawlessly i play on

    even running the game on an old HDD
    it plays fine on my 4K monitor with no tearing stuttering or fps drops, i think the worst i had was 40fps which is still non noticeable during game play this generation needs to get over that more fps = better as your eye can't see or notice anything higher than 60fps in most cases as the majority of monitors refresh at 60hz which is 60 fps tops a game may tell you you're getting 120+fps but you monitor isn't refreshing at anything higher than it's designed to, even movies play around 27-30fps and nobody **** about that.

    I have sunk over 66 hours into this game and i am only 61% complete, my advice for this game is to explore, take in the vast lands and surprise yourself with what you can find, if you bought this game to mash a button in fights and to be told how to play then you bought the wrong game, stop following the bandwagon of being told what to like and what to hate, i bought this game for £35.99 with Ubisoft discount which i earned through gaming which is 20% off... on release, say what you will but nobody rewards you 20% off with a made up currency you earn by enjoying yourself.

    The fighting is challenging as you have to think about what you're doing or you will die to simple soldiers with shields or dual wielding swords, it takes a little time but not hard to master, even higher rated mercenaries can be bested.

    The map is huge, fast travel is there if you want it, it is filled with bandits wild life and events you can only find by exploring, you can find some awesome items just by exploring.

    Stunning visuals
    Well over 70 hours game play
    The choice to play either male or female
    So much to do it can sometimes feel overwhelming which is GREAT in a RPG

    Cons:
    Doesn't seem to like potato PC
    The sea doesn't have the same pull as AC Black flag

    I generally disdain games with gratuitous violence. A recent exception is Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. It has an interesting plot, the scenery is gorgeous, there's a wide range of difficulty, voice acting is good and gives me a better sense of what the Greek language sounds like, there's a sense of connecting with important historical characters and places that have always seemed dim andI generally disdain games with gratuitous violence. A recent exception is Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. It has an interesting plot, the scenery is gorgeous, there's a wide range of difficulty, voice acting is good and gives me a better sense of what the Greek language sounds like, there's a sense of connecting with important historical characters and places that have always seemed dim and distant to me, movement feels natural and vigorous including running, walking, swimming, horseback riding, and piloting boats large and small, there is an abundance of varied quests, none of which is of the "kill 30 wild pigs" variety, combat options include rogue, bowman, and melee options (and you have to learn all of them), the adversaries are mostly bad guys and gals, and the Greeks depicted really look like they are from the eastern Mediterranean rather than northern Europe. There's plenty of innuendo but no graphic sexuality. You can inhabit a male or female avatar. Your in-game choices certainly affect your progress in the story. The setting is during the Peloponnesian War, which was a moment of high drama in that part of the world. Be warned that the Great Plague of Athens features in a few scenes. So if you've ever wanted to meet Socrates, Herodotus, and the like, or if you've been wondering where those "gods" all came from, or where they went, it's worth a look. Certainly it's one of my favorite RPGs to date.… Expand

    Do not let these whiny babies with 40 IQ and their 0 ratings distract you from playing one of the best Games of 2018 and best Assassin's Creed game in series. It is an excellent open-world RPG, not as good as Witcher 3 of course, but i doubt any game ever will be. Nevertheless it is very much worth playing. You can easily get up to 80 hours of fun out of it.

With my RTX 2080 I am running 4k HDR ultra high at a decent frame rate, and it is the most beautiful game I have ever played. Absolutely breathtaking.     The world is wonderful, graphics are amazing and yes the world is HUGE as it should be! I cannot wait to explore everything in this beautiful world (underwater and on land). But at the same time feel nostalgic about this era in mankind history!

    The game is based in real historical facts and in mythological aspects and mythology is not fantasy, but a way of expression of real events in the ancient world.

    I love this game! Kassandra is a wonderful protagonist and I feel like a 46-year-old child playing this masterpiece. I love the freedom it gives you to do whatever you want, more or less. Combat is awesome fun with all the various builds available... Done fine seem to appreciate the you're nature of the game compared to many older AC games, but I prefer it this way by far. To each his or her own.

    The story is REALLY exciting and the gamplay is optimised for the combatstyle you choose, the expressions on the NPC's faces are so well made that you are likely to think its a movie. The world is enormous and really alluring.
    The game runs smooth and is still pretty af. on my GTX1060 card, and only 8GB RAM (i used GeForce Experience to tweak my graphics).

    Beat this game in 145 hours on highest difficulty, really enjoyed it. I think its the best RPG of 2018 and one of the best Assassin's Creed entries toppled only by excellent story of AC2.

I'm having zero optimization issues on PC, so not really sure what that's about (update your drivers). I believe this is the best AC yet, and I'm having a great time in ancient Greece.

    Grandisimo juego. Una buenisima aventura de nuestro protagonista (en mi caso Kassandra). Una evolución de Origins donde todo pasa a ser mejor, el combate es más real, las batallas entre espartanos y atenienses son espectaculares. Una historia muy bien hilada, sobre todo la parte del culto. El sigilo no es como los anteriores assassins, en este digamos que tienes que conseguir ciertoGrandisimo juego. Una buenisima aventura de nuestro protagonista (en mi caso Kassandra). Una evolución de Origins donde todo pasa a ser mejor, el combate es más real, las batallas entre espartanos y atenienses son espectaculares. Una historia muy bien hilada, sobre todo la parte del culto. El sigilo no es como los anteriores assassins, en este digamos que tienes que conseguir cierto equipamiento para poder matar de una vez, una vez lo tienes matas de una vez a cualquiera salvo quizá ciertos bosses muy tochos. Pero lo que más me gusta de este juego es la cantidad de 'builds' que puedes hacer para ajustar a tu manera de juego, tanto asesino sigiloso, como guerrero melé con un mazo llameante, arquero a un objetivo o arquero a multiples objetivos, daño de veneno, daño de fuego etc... También me encanta la lista a enemigos a eliminar como ya había en Origins en menor medida, pero estos tienen de recompensa esos sets de equipamiento que te ayudarán a construir tu build. En fin un juegazo y esperando con muchas ganas el Valhalla a ver si continúa por esta senda.… Expand

    А мне очень понравился новый отсосин :) пусть он и не Ассассин вовсе :) , он как отличное продолжение после путешествий по Египту, теперь по Греции древней погуляем. Ведь красотища же какая вокруг. И кто бы там что не говорил , мол это какое то DLC к Истокам , ничишуя подобного :), графон 100% ещё круче стал + новые RPG фишки с диалогами и выбором в них, который реально влияет наА мне очень понравился новый отсосин :) пусть он и не Ассассин вовсе :) , он как отличное продолжение после путешествий по Египту, теперь по Греции древней погуляем. Все кто пишет что это не Ассассин больше, убили серию и бла бла бла , ну и похер ,за то РПГ неплохая получилась с шикарной картинкой. А кому нужен Ассассин иди те 3-тию часть задрачивайте до дыр. This game does not deserve low ratings and all of them are coming from people looking to disgrace the company by giving low ratings rather than rating the game for what it is.     One of best open world exploration games i have ever played. If you play in exploration mode on hard it is significantly better experience than any other Ubisoft open world game. It is also one of the best stealth games i have played including previous AC games, i never realy enjoyed stealth games, yet here i enjoy it as much as regular combat. World is beatiful, story is decent and whileOne of best open world exploration games i have ever played.     I dont understand the bad critics. Since brotherhood, odyssey is the best game so far, is nice, the story are great, the graphics are the best, i dont find any bug. U can choose anything.... is reallly awesome. Maybe no t a 10, but a 9 of course. (10 points is for fight against the sad 0)

    Awesome game, it's something different from the rest of the AC, but I'd like to think that I won't play the same game over and over and, in that sense, Odyssey is a step forward. I'm playing on a 7700k-1080ti Set up, so I didn't notice any performance issues, but it's Ubisoft, so you can expect that if you have a mid-end or low-end set up. If that so, just wait for sales.

If the reviews would have been more reasonable I would still rate this game a solid 9.

    The good:
    - The improved parkour mechanics (you rarely get stuck of which was a bit of an issue in the past)
    - The Story (don't get fooled by some of the reviews, the writing is quite funny and smart)
    - The voice acting; especially Kassandra. The actor of Alexios did a good job too.
    - The combat (yes, it's different and a breakaway from the old combat style, but it's fun!)
    - The Huge Map.
    - The huge amount of content.
    - Ship combat. Best ship combat of the series.

    The bad:
    - A few minor bugs (very few though)
    - Fire tanks the FPS quite hard which makes speccing into fire damange not worth it (poison ftw).
    - Stupido was a bit..... stupido (*wink* very funny questine)
    - The game has got an ending. I wish it didn't.

    I haven't felt addictive to a single player game more than this for a long time. It has so many things to do in terms of farm thought exploring the superb areas of ancient Greece. I love it.

    I'm loving the game so far...have spent almost 30 hours in-game. I'm playing on Hard difficulty, and have spent much of my time above recommended level, and that's without doing many of the optional timed quests, and without spending any money on micro-transactions. For reference, I'm relatively new to the series...played the original AC when it came out, but wasn't keen on the mechanics and gave up a few hours in...Origins was my first real AC game that I experienced in full.… Expand

    This game is great. Beautiful world, lots of immersion. The sound ambiance is a big upgrade over AC:Origins, as well. I do think the voice acting is better than in Origins as well. The eye movements look great, but can be wonky sometimes, all in all it is good step forward in the AC series.

    Running AVG 60 FPS on a 1070 with everything ultra and Super Sampling up to 140%.

    the number of idiots giving ratings is just amazing. This is not AC game , so i'll give it a 1 or 0. Grow up, Fantastic game, never had so much fun in a huge open world game since The Witcher, which this game desperately tries to imitate, but does it very very well.

    PRO TIP: GO READ REVIEWS ON STEAM FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE PLAYED FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS AND CAN RUN IT ON THEIR RIG. Most people rating this game lowly have either barely played it in terms of time or have machines that cannot run it. Both are poor reasons to give a low rating.

This game is on the same level as Skyrim, Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption ONE. If you like games like that then you will love Odyssey. Story and side quests are amazing too.     My first AC game and I was expecting a cheap W3 knock-off but was pleasantly surprised. Huge detailed ancient Greek world, great attention to history, about 50-100 hours of gameplay. Fun game without a few highly memorable scenes.

    Best AS in history. If you liked origin then this one is even better. It may feel like DLC for Origin, but it's not. It's a whole new adventure for you and you will have fun with this title. Good job devs, you are truly close to Witcher 3.

Although I am myself not a big Fan of Role Playing Games I have to say that Odyssey is not going too too deep with the Role Playing System what makes it easy accessible for pretty much everyone!     The atmosphere and environment of this game is superb, I've never seen a more beautiful game. It's extremely nice graphically, and it ran a smooth 60 FPS on Very High settings with my PC (GTX 1060, FX-8350).
    The story is very intriguing with various twists and turns, leaving you on your toes. There were various moments in this game where I just stared at my screen in awe.
    You really can't get much better than AC:Odyssey, it's definitely my favorite out of the AC Series now, which was previously Origins.

    I love this game. An epic open world RPG with good and balanced fights. The quests are versatile and hardly redundant except for bounties. The world looks great and the game runs perfectly on the PC.

    Yes. This is my first review here, so you may disregard it if you wish. I've just created an account here because I'm very surprised of the reviews. Game works perfectly fine on my i5-2500 GTX970 PC. To be honest it's not really an AC game, it's just an rpg in Ancient Greece setting, but it's so cool and immersive (yes!). This is like the first game in AC franchise i want to play since AC 2.

    Juegazo me a sorprendido muchísimo tras el pedazo juego que fue Origins tenías mis dudas respecto a este pero es brutal excelentes gráficos, sonido, banda sonora y ambientacion Grecia es hermosa y gigantesca además la historia , personajes y la enorme cantidad de cosas que hacer hacen de este juego de los mejores de la saga en mi opinión habiéndolo jugado a todos ellos. 100% recomendable

    Best Assassin's Creed yet by far. Best RPG i've played since W3. I for one love all the side missions and massive quantity of things to do. It never felt like I was leveling too slow or like there was some ulterior motive to push me into purchasing an XP boost. In fact the levels came so fast there were times I felt like it was going too fast when I was getting behind on keeping my gear upgraded.

    This was my first assassin's creed game and i absolutely loved it! The story is very interesting, i didn't skip one dialog, there are a lot of interesting side quests, and there are actually three or four main stories. Beautiful world, beautiful graphics, great gameplay, great story, 60+ hours of fun. For me, the best game i ever played (yeah, i haven't played that much games)

    Not a fan of AC(only played AC1 for a couple of hours) but Odyssey was a surprise, for me a 9.5/10 rating surprise. Beautiful views with good graphics, good fighting system and also really nice side quests, all this in a beautiful ancient greece. I'm giving it a 9.5 because the character bondings didn't have the desired effect; the game doesn't create any attachment although it tries.     People who complain about the XP don't know to enjoy a good game tbh. You don't just finish the main quests in 10h, you enjoy the full awesome world with a lot of smart and fun side quests that this game offers. For me leveling too fast was a problem; had to grind for resources to upgrade my gear. There are lots of XP quests that take 5 minutes or less to complete and you get 1/4 of the needed xp to level up.
    Didn't pay a dime on boosters and played the game for over 120 hours without getting bored. Well maybe a bit when gathering skins but this was fixed. The patches that addressed this resource rewards issue were most welcome :)

    In short. Pros: everything. Cons: none, sorry :) . Large, beautifull world, lots of things to do, all of them interesting. Clever endings. Just can't believe Ubisoft made such a great game. Thank You.

The modern parts are really small as well, which is good.

    Bought Origins and Odyssey at the same time. Tried Origins first and couldnt get into it. I was about to uninstall Odyssey without even trying it but decided to give it one shot. Thank god I did! Ended up playing for 6 hours in the first sitting. Great game! For those who are saying that it is a re-skinned Origins I couldnt disagree more. Sure its another Assassins Creed game but the storyBought Origins and Odyssey at the same time. Tried Origins first and couldnt get into it.     A huge, gorgeous, open world filled with tons of interesting quests and side-quests - I'm frankly shocked at how large the world is and how they managed to fill it with interesting content. The combat is fun and challenging, and the optional stealth approach is even more fun and rewarding - you can mix and match them as you see fit. The choice of    An absolute blast from start to finish!

    A huge, gorgeous, open world filled with tons of interesting quests and side-quests - I'm frankly shocked at how large the world is and how they managed to fill it with interesting content. The combat is fun and challenging, and the optional stealth approach is even more fun and rewarding - you can mix and match them as you see fit. The choice of player character and dialog options pull you into the game and make it feel like you're creating your own personal story. It took me 110 hours to beat the game, and I want to go back in to explore the islands I didn't get to and finish the side-quests there.

    The game is incredibly polished - in 110 hours I only encountered two minor bugs. The PC port is great, giving you a myriad of options to customize the game and controls, with visual previews of all the graphics options and a built-in benchmark. The game also instantly switches between mouse and keyboard and controller. My i5 6600 + 1080 Ti PC ran the game at 6040x1080 (1080p x 3) at 45-60 fps, but there's also the option for a locked framerate from 30-60 in increments of 5.

    The complaints of "grind" and "level-gated content" apply only to those who wish to rush through the main story while skipping all the side-quests and optional content. If you actually engage with the game, it is incredibly generous with XP. Just from doing the primary side-quests (which were always interesting and entertaining) and skipping most of the other optional stuff, I was gaining levels so quickly that I changed the level scaling to always match mine so that I wouldn't out-level all the content.    … Expand

    This game is like AC origins but, immensely improved in many ways. They took what was great about Origins and made it better. The immensely big and expansive world of Greece was fun to delve into and explore every corner of it. The Navel battles were fun and full of action, bringing back memories of those tough navel fights in Black Flag. You can be the great mercenary hero or a down right heartless one only in it for the drachma. I hope the next game in the series will improve the series even more.     Easily the best game in the series, combat and stealth are the best they've ever been. I haven't grinded a single thing and I'm progressing easily on Hard difficulty. RPG elements are well done and greatly improved over Origins. Side quests are actually interesting.     The game is absolutely fun. These idiots that say it is forcing to use xp boosts should know that I'm one of those that didn't use a single xp boost and finished the game with full exploration. It didn't need any boost. When I reached my max level still there were bunch of locations to explore and gain more xp. Telling the story of apples and the first Templars was perfect. Loved the game man.

    Now let's talk about Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

    -The most of games put immense texts of which the player does not even read because they are mostly boring, in AC Odyssey is the opposite, the immersion that the game provides both in dialogue and in history is extremely rich which makes you want to play more and more.
    This game has one of the best stories and narratives of the franchise, the gameplay is extremely easy and fluid, you have a talent tree that you gain essential skills for your journey. At Odyssey we see that Ubisoft has truly embraced the RPG elements in its narrative as well as the dialogue choices that affect the game story.
    I had the opportunity to play with both protagonists; Kassandra and Alexios, and without doubt Kassandra was the one that most captivated me, in years I did not see a character with such charisma, the player feels connected to her feelings sharing frustrations and emotions with her.
    At game storyline we discover how it connects the history of the franchise as a whole and how important it is to her, revealing a little more of Isu's story and also of the protagonist and the legacy he will leave to Layla.
    At the end of the arc of the main storyline we see how the protagonist is embedded as being one of the main characters of the franchise along with Altair (Desmond's mother's bloodline) and Ezio (Desmond's father's bloodline).
    In the DLC "LEGACY OF THE FIRST BLADE" we see in fact how this happens a second time giving direct continuation and showing how great the character is.

    ...And as not everything is flowers we go to the negative points.

    - In the beginning the game shows a simple and fun system that is basically riding a horse or boat, performing missions, challenges, fighting, enemy base infiltration etc., etc. The problem is that these things become very repetitive because they keep the same for the whole game and in the DLC's too, the same tasks for all! this can make the game massively for many, remembering that we are talking about a game with at least 100 hours of gameplay.
    Another point that made me very annoyed was the flirt dialogues, In every **** mission someone is trying to flirting with his character, its really boring because you are focused in your mission and this dialogues apper and you think "ok dude i think is not really a good time for this.".
    In the DLC "LEGACY OF THE FIRST BLADE" that made me even more pissed, I felt that the romance was something forced only to continue the narrative (at least the conclusion of it all is something epic for the story).

    Last but not least, the bad optimization of this game!

    Although you have a rich open world and excellent graphics, this game was one of the most demanding in hardware requisites I've ever played in my life, I have an i7 9700k and a rtx 2070 and I play in 1440p and for countless times I saw my cpu being used at 100%. This is the only game in my library that can use all my hardware, in the bad sense of course.

    This is may not play anything like the old games but is that such a bad thing? What you're getting here is a huge beautiful game world to explore on both land and sea set in the best setting: Ancient Greece.

    The latest addition to the Assassin's Creed franchise is truly a wonder and a fresh take on a stale idea. The excellent execution, gameplay and story is only overshadowed by greedy micro transactions, paid XP and awful optimization.

    While AC: Origins was packed with interesting stories, Odyssey is a generic ’Ubisoft sandbox’ in the worst sense, with hundreds of the same-looking places, dozens of ”kill-fetch” quests and almost zero motivation to grind further.
