    My favorite game in the Assassin's Creed franchise and one of my top five games in general. From the story to the mechanics, it is definitely worth a play. Coming in at about 14 hours of enjoyment, do I recommend this? YES!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is one of those games that I will never forget. This game taught me lots of things. The most beautiful soundtrack, ambience and feeling itself. Being in the cities of Italy and the masterful music of Jesper Kyd plays while carrying on the best revenge story in gaming was just something special.     The classic game, this is the one that really established the genre, it's such an experience. Please do yourself and get this game on sale and try it, sometimes Ubisoft even gives it away, though I will recommend steam as its a bit easier to play with a steam controller than the native controller support.

For a 2009, it's still looks damn good 10 years later, the city, the character model,.. are all so beautiful.     A perfect sequel. Everything is better than the in first game. Mechanics are polished, missions are interesting and varied. The main music theme from the game will always be the series theme. Cons: Ezio is not always doing what we want him to do which can be frustrating. Because of simplified fight mechanics, the game is sometimes to easy.

Хотя и в данном случае игра сделала    7.8/10

Хотя и в данном случае игра сделала большой шаг вперед по сравнению со своей предшественницей - теперь чтобы залезть на высотную башню, недостаточно просто нажимать 2-3 клавиши одновременно и просто ждать. Теперь нужно немного подумать, как именно поступить, чтобы забраться на вершину.
    Прежде всего главным плюсом ACII я бы назвал как раз исторический контекст. Прыгать над каналами Венеции эпохи Возрождения, преодолевая крыши настоящих известных исторических сооружений (информацию о которых можно также прочитать в меню), слушая стук черепичной крыши под ногами, а также взаимодействовать с Макиавелли, Да Винчи, Борджиа, Медичи - это отдельный вид удовольствия, который не ощущался настолько явно в первой части игры, и не потому, что Италия времён Возрождения для меня более интересный кусок мировой истории, чем времена Крестовых походов. Просто вторая часть стала действительно намного более живой благодаря мелким и приятным глазу деталям. Разработчики сделали в своей игре небольшой, но настоящий исторический музей.
    Ну и последнее и главное: сюжет в ACII стал намного более интересным, чем был в первой части, хотя и здесь возникают невероятно глупые моменты, которые не были бы прощены аналогичному фильму, но здесь ты просто стараешься закрывать на это глаза. Мы не получаем особо интересного злодея (или хотя бы одного из них), многие из них по прежнему получают декоративную функцию, но зато мы получаем живого и интересного протагониста с не менее живыми и разнообразными сторонниками. Здесь и мудрые куртизанки, которые учат жизни будущего мстителя-убийцу, и Леонардо Да Винчи, который напрямую сотрудничает с Эцио (момент с полётом на реальном дельтаплане, некогда задуманным именно Леонардо, заставил мое тело покрыться мурашками), и множество других запоминающихся персонажей.
    Мой вывод прост и краток: это хорошая игра с массой минусов и массой плюсов, которые суммируясь дают скорее очень положительные ощущения от игры, нежели отрицательные. И всё же этой серии есть куда расти, и мне очень хочется узнать, получилось ли это, хотя я играю в это и пишу уже в 2020 году, и я всё уже давно знаю.    … Expand

    El videojuego es mucho mejor que el titulo anterior. Es porque con más presupuesto usaron otro motor gráfico. La jugabilidad es casi la misma con mejoras, ya se puede nadar en el agua o en los ríos de Italia. La época del renacimiento está bien, el enfrentar a los Medicis, a Sabonarola, a Rodrigo Borgia. Y el conocer a Da Vinci, a Catherina Esforza, ver más de la hermandad es un acierto.El videojuego es mucho mejor que el titulo anterior. Es porque con más presupuesto usaron otro motor gráfico.     The video game is much better than the previous title. It's because with more budget they used another graphic engine. The gameplay is almost the same with improvements; you can already swim in the water or in the rivers of Italy. The Renaissance period is fine, facing the Medicis, Sabonarola, and Rodrigo Borgia. And knowing Da Vinci, Catherina Esforza, seeing more of the brotherhood is a success. The final fight is a duel with a clean fist with the antagonist, and the final revelation amazes.    … Expand

    Just finished it in 2020 lol. I found it very fun, interesting, occasionally boring. I loved walking and admiring the architecture of the Italian towns and buildings.

    It was the same Assassin's Creed game as the original. But did everything better, from the perspective of game-play. Also it brought the story of the assassin's to a place and time where it could really shine.

In this game you control the Italian Assassin Ezio Auditore. One day your family is executed in front of your eyes and you are going to get revenge. In this game you travel at many citys of Italy of the 15th century. It's my favourite game of all time because of the great story. The missions were always fun to do. The only thing I didn't really like at this game was that the fighting controls aren't very good but it is not a very big problem because the game is based on stealth. The freerunning feels awesome. The PC port is ok. I have found some bugs but they are small things and they 're not a big deal. I give this masterpiece a 9/10 and I recommend it to everyone who hasn't played yet. If you haven't tried it create a steam account and play it now.… Expand

    Ezio Auditore is arguably the best game character of this century and his character development is on point. Story keeps getting interesting with historical characters.
    A must play game for sure and a classic.

And the plot and game-play of Assassin Creed 1, for its year, was simply amazing... And this second part was for me the best game from the series. I still listen and feeling with my soul the game's soundtrack.     Biggest jump in the series is right between the first and second title. It introduces us to charismatic Ezio de Auditore loved by so many fans. Pretty long and great game, giving it 9/10 because Brotherhood with its story was more memorable for me.

    Im surprised about the user score, this game definitely deserves a much higher score, it has interesting world and one of the most amazing era in human history to learn about, the music is so amazing and the story is well written.
    The combat has some issues but it covers the assassin style well.

    The best AE game for sure.

    A masterpiece. Everything what first game did well, Assassin's Creed II does better. Very immersive gameplay, with great story and soundtrack. It's very tough to get bored while playing this gem. And Ezio Auditore, one of the most famous characters in video games history. Totally must play.

    Maybe this game has not got the best story, but it is definitely better than modern AC games have. In the beginning there are lots of twists, but in the last half of the game it becomes more "lazy".

    Graphics are worse than in the Assassin's Creed(2007) but the world has more details.

    Maybe I will not be wrong if I'd say that it is the best AC game ever.

    This game is a vast improvement over the bug-ridden AC1. They improved virtually EVERYTHING.

    The story is the best of all AC games (except maybe Black Flag). It is really good.

    Graphics still look beautiful in 2023.

    Running across the rooftops of the beautiful cities and then jumping 50 m into the water is just awesome.

    This and Black Flag are the best installments of the whole series!

    My favorite hero was introduced in this sequel - Ezio :) Watching him become one of the members of Creed was enjoyable :)

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Отличное продолжение истории, при том что у компании были проблемы в те времена, от того взлетит ли она
    зависило будущее этой компании и с чистым сердцем могу сказать, что они смогли сделать ее еще лучше чем была первая часть. Ах, чего только стоит музыкальная составляющая, не заплакать услышав мелодию Эцио, когда он со своим братом стоит на крыше, просто не возможно.
    30+ часов игры благодаря тому что прошел ее на 100% ну и не много меньше, может на часов 15 основного сюжета, но даже так, это слишком много и хорошо по сравнению с нынешними играми.
    Самое главное что есть во всей второй части и ее продолжениях - это сюжет, с ним все хорошо, хотя есть спорные и не совсем понятные моменты такие как чуть ли не два раза смерть Эцио, причем одинаково, типа, первый раз его перед смертью пырнули ножом в 1 бок, в конце во второй и самое странное, что в первый раз, он чуть не умер, а во второй раз, просто встал и пошел, будто бы ни раны ничего нет, может это сила яблока так на него повлияла, но мне показались эти моменты глупыми. А так в целом игра заслуживает того что бы существовать и радовать фанатом по сей день. Последний раз играл когда мне было наверное лет 11 или меньше (Сейчас 23)и такое чувство что прошел игру
    в первый раз, память из детства будто бы из другой жизни так размыта, что порой уже ничего не вспомнишь. Играйте, наслаждайтесь, вспоминайте, всем любви и добра.    … Expand

    One of the things that make this a peak game to me was the pace. While progressing, I always have in the back of my head thinking; when will the game become repetitive like the last one? It doesn't, It just becomes harder and harder in a better ways while also giving you a much improve equipment and ways to deal with the task you're supposed to do.

    A great load of history learned while they still manage to connect it through the story, Landscape to not just Parkour at but also learned their past & as well having some of the greatest speeches I've heard in video games.    … Expand

    O enredo é sensacional, todos os personagens são extremamente carismáticos, principalmente as figuras históricas e o protagonista. A jogabilidade apresenta alguns problemas durante as escaladas, porém, é simples e intuitiva, principalmente nos combates. Os gráficos são lindos para a época e envelheceram super bem.

    "Improved to Perfection"
    I don't know how come but I feel like I have been familiar with the series my whole life without ever playing it. In my childhood GTA and Assassin's Creed were two household names all kids in my area have heard about and though I even managed to play Vice City and San Adreas in my early days I didn't manage to get my hands on any installment of Assassin's Creed    "Improved to Perfection"
    I don't know how come but I feel like I have been familiar with the series my whole life without ever playing it. In my childhood GTA and Assassin's Creed were two household names all kids in my area have heard about and though I even managed to play Vice City and San Adreas in my early days I didn't manage to get my hands on any installment of Assassin's Creed since then... untill now.

    Of course I decided to start from the original AC game and was... disappointed? The animation felt sluggish, the controls were messed up, the whole gameplay simply didn't feel "right". What I was pleasantly surprised with is this whole going-to-your-ancestors-memory thing - I wonder why the fact that in AC you aren't just an assassin living in different time periods of the past but also are an ordinary man living in present time through memories of whose you have access to all the assassins from the past because they were his ancestors has been so carefully hidden from me - I don't know about you but for me that is quite interesting. Anyway, after playing AC1 for about 6 hours I decide to give it up and move on to something else. I will return back to AC franchise 2 months later...

    What convinced me to give the franchise a second try was: 1) my friend assuring me to not even trying to give AC1 a shot because of how bad it is in comparison to others 2) AC2 has a "must-play" badge on metacritic so it had to be worth the try 3) I still wanted to understand what made AC franchise so popular and successful - there should be a reason. As I found out later - Assassin's Creed 2 was the reason.

    From the moment the first cut scene kicked in I knew the next 30 hours are going to be interesting - the facial animation and the overall acting was so good, duuude, I can only imagine how mindblowing it looked back in 2009. The voiceacting and the italian accent is top notch - the characters feel alive and relatable. The plot is amazing - just a classic story about family, revenge, justice and power (which eventually expands to something more....epic?) Nothing feels overstretched or added just in sake of prolonging the game time. Can't say much about the sidequests as I didn't bother myself much doing them. Also I was surprised AC2 continues the main story of Desmond which takes place in the modern times because to be honest I don't think I know any other game that did that before or after (oh, I know - MW2 and MW3 but that's a little bit different because after MW1 became a huge success it was easier to take risks and not finish the story in the second installment but do that in the third part instead as they knew MW2 will be success too and they will have to make MW3 anyway while Ubisoft couldn't be sure Assassin's Creed original game will succeed so making it just a piece of a bigger puzzle was really a brave move, in my opinion).

    What is the first thought when we think about Assassin's Creed games? Story? Music? Murders? Hidden Blade? Maybe. But what really comes to mind first is the parkour. The ability to climb buildings to the very top no matter how tall the building is, jumping from roof to roof in an effortless manner that's what AC games are actually all about and that's what really lacked for me in the first AC game - getting from point A to point B just wasn't funny. Assassin's Creed 2 is complete opposite in this manner - I was simply enjoying running, climbing and jumping around. Ubisoft did a great job in animating Ezio's movements so your parkour could feel as smooth as possible. I also appreciated what they did to the Leap of Faith - the right animation, the right sound design and the right combination of both makes such act of bravery truly breathtaking.

    Not everything is perfect. Combat system is pretty straigtforward and doesn't offer you much freedom and space for improvisation. While counter-attacks cut scenes looks bad ass the overall fighting sequences definitely lack depth and after some time you just treat the fights like chores you have to do in order to move further.

    Conclusion: Assassin's Creed 2 is a perfect sequel to its predecessor. Now I understand why Ubisoft believed in it despite quite flawed the first installment of the series and why this franchise has become as big as it is today with millions of fans all around the globe.    … Expand

    This game is good. Even this sentence makes you happy because first AC game was a total disaster. This game makes most things right that AC1 couldn't. Story is very good. Climax was kinda weak though. Gameplay is alright. Stealth mechanics are okay. AI is very weak. The game is not quite polished. Tons of bugs occur randomly. Optimization is very bad.     One of the best game in its genre, but on the PC its not the best, its ported from consoles so the movement is not really good and after 10 yrs I experienced few bugs that i bugged under the map but I recommend playing it

    In my opinion, the second version is one of the best of all Assassin's Creed serie. Differently from the first, the history was well built. The main character (Ezio Auditore da Firenze) is considered by me the most striking.

Although we play for him here, Ubisoft does not forget the storyline of the presence in the form of Anim, which we climb toAssassin's Creed II is not only a sequel that takes the series to a completely different level, but also the best part of the series ever (in my opinion). Again, we can look forward to Desmond, because the passages with him are much, but much more lively. But back to the Assassins. In the first part, I praised the environment and I have to praise it again, this time maybe a little more. The environment of Italy, specifically Florence, is beautiful and will simply fall into the time of the Assassins, and this is further underlined by the soundtrack, which in my opinion is one of the best of all games. Gameplay is a bit better than in the first part. This time we finally have some currency that we can then spend. That would really be missing in the previous game. In addition to the main missions, there is something to do. You could have completed side missions in the first Assassin's Creed, but here they are better and most importantly you can explore the map, take a loot and thus earn some cash, for which you can then shop. Great. We would have secondary content and now the main storyline. That was the stumbling block in the previous part in my eyes, which is why I am so glad that it is no longer the case here. The story is much more interesting, the missions are no longer so repetitive and especially the story is simply here. The fact that we will meet Leonard Da Vinci here also benefits from the story, and in fact, from the second part onwards, Ubisoft began to put characters from that time into each part. It's not how, in a number one story, something happens at the beginning, then a few repetitive missions, and then the end, where something happens again. No. Here the game springs from the very beginning to the very end. So the game looks great and in total it is already smiling at the rating of 10, which does not fall, unfortunately due to the situation on the PC. I can't determine the optimization much, because the game is really old and so it can be tightened anywhere, but I mean the control, which is just so rough on the keyboard with the mouse. Rotating the mouse just works weirdly here. Well, at least I didn't go down without explaining myself first. Which brings me to such a small recommendation, and that is if you plan to play the game on a PC, then get a gamepad. I started playing the game with him after a while and it was immediately about something else and it was better played right away. From that moment on, I started playing the whole series on the gamepad, and I'm actually happy for this imperfection of the game, because it showed me that this series is just made for the gamepad.     Assassin's Creed II is my favourite game of all time travelling in Italy is just fascinating and Ezio's story made me play the entire franchise but Assassins Creed II is my favourite and i dont think it is appreciated enough i just wish they would still do games this passionetly

    I played 25 hours. I'm about 98% done. I did everything possible, only the feathers remained. I was able to collect 58 of them. I wish there was something to show feathers on the map. Definitely better than the first game overall. To compare with the first game;

    Good sides; 1_) A larger world design. Various tasks to do. Historical places to visit. Special missions that we can    I played 25 hours. I'm about 98% done. To compare with the first game;

    Good sides;
    1_) A larger world design. Various tasks to do. Historical places to visit. Special missions that we can platform. A fortress of our own that we can develop.
    2_) Nice story and dialogues. The mystery story pieces we can find are codexes. The secrets and puzzles we're trying to solve. 2 beautiful DLCs.
    3_) Money system. Weapons, armors, etc. that we can buy.
    4_) Art design, atmosphere, music better.
    5_) We can exit the game more easily :)
    6_) Subtitled hell yeah!

    Bad sides;
    1_) conTROLS!!! still very bad especially if you play with keyboard+mouse. The reason I gave the game an 8 is just because the controls are bad. I wish I could see a better job from the first game.

    Game's core mechanics and animations are nearly same with the first game. But there is some improvements and extra mechanics like new weapons, smoke bomb and few parkour mechanics etc.
    Games play time is way too much. In the first half of game, all the quests and map discovering stuffs feels enjoyable. But in the second half of the game, all the things are becoming so boring, and the mechanics are became overused. And unfortunately game doesn't channel players to do stuff except for main quests. And it is a lack of game design. The game is way too easy to beat, and the player nearly doesn't have to improve character's stuff even the game has many different way to improve stats. There's a lot of weapon and armour upgrades, but i only bought a knife and do some shield upgrades, although i was lack of upgrade way to much, i didn't find any difficult to beat the game. And the game has some pointless investment features, but i never had to use this investments.
    Game's story is one of the most iconic revenge story of all video game time. The only bad thing about the story is, the time issue. In my opinion game is about 5 hours longer then it's needed. And almost all the time i couldn't remember why i am doing this missions and what is my goal or motivation.    … Expand

The combat is more brutal than the last game and adding different weapons was a great addition to the game.     Fighting is very satisfactory with nice animations that are even better than latest titles.
    AC as series became game that chase its own tale in terms of story but first 3 AC with titles in between (Brotherhood and such...) with AC IV and Rouge are very very very excellent on itself and can exist without others parts. I like others AC's but they are lacking much for titles like AC II.

    For me, this game is not only the best in the AC series, but also, in principle, the best Ubisoft game. It reminds me of the days when Ubisoft had not yet slipped into miserable grind games without a plot, but made good games with a good plot and characters.     Two years later, Assassin's Creed tries again to make real those promises from Ubisoft, and prove itself as a better game than it was. The truth is that, despite the Renaissance setting, the vivid locations and the historical landmarks, the new features added don't really improve the sequel: the same repetitive mechanics remain, as the flawed enemy AI, a rough combat system and moments of frustration coming from issues with the camera and the control response in the platform sections. Assassin's Creed II it's still a good game but far from the masterpiece Ubisoft has been promising.
