    Ascendant proves brilliantly to apply The Art of War by Sun Tzu into an intimate action platformer. If you are not scared of permanent death, you will enjoy perfectly motivating roguelike action game set in pleasant scenes.

    I noticed this game by seeing Total Biscuit's favorable review of it. I bought it on steam for $10 and was still very pleasantly surprised.     Ascendant is a great roguelike experience that has similar elements to Rogue Legacy and Binding of Isaac. I've spent over 10 hours on the game and haven't even reached the final boss, so it is definitely worth the $10.

    You also have a pretty rough start, you can see that as a positive or a negative, I personally like it. On your first 2 or so hours you're pretty much stuck on the first 2 levels. That might sound boring, but once you figure out your mistakes in those eureka moments, it's incredibly satisfying.    … Full Review »
