Visually this game is a masterpiece. Mechanically this game great yet not a masterpiece.

Why can't we just take a game at face value instead of playing it with the expectations built up before release? 3.9? This is a criminal user score for a game that has barely come out. Every online game today has issues when released so don't act surprised when this game does to. Sometimes I honestly believe that they should screen these reviews so people who just come here to vent their frustrations don't have an opportunity to negatively impact a game. I see a lot of people reviewing from their emotions rather than from an unbiased objective viewpoint. I just hope these reviews don't negatively impact a person's decision to buy this game. You should definitely get it if you have the money.

Единственное что мне не нравится в "сюжетных квестах" - однотипные квесты с радаром, переносом вещей или решением "головоломок".
И на данный момент мало контента (обещают завезти), а так же отсутствие рус. озвучки при ценнике 3к+

The flying is really cool, making you wonder why there weren't air battles. The game legitimately looks incredible, but that is the only thing it has going for it. Also Fort Tarsis is so drab and feels dead as the NPCs rarely produce any sound or feel like they are there at all. Expand

I really want to love this game but in its current state it's a technical mess and poor game design:
    1. I get constant server disconnections. I mean constant. Often 2-4 in a row.
    2. Healt bug - your items just randomly ignored and don't add you health and shield, meaning you are always oneshot. On one mission you have 6 health bars, on the next one just a single one. It's **** game

    3. Quick Play is totally broken. I tied it multiple times and each time it throws me in mission which is bugged therefore it can't be completed and thus someone left the group. And here you are! Have fun joining the broken mission. Moreover often when you join next thing happening you are teleported... to a point which is outside bugged objective... and you are teleported... to a point outside objective... You get the idea.
    4. Freeplay desing is aweful: no markers in freeplay, you don't know where you died last time, no notifications about events, so you are always alone, when you are downed you are respawned far away from that point.
    5. Down state is annoying as **** The ONLY action you can do is Alt-f4. I'm not kidding, other things are not working: map is disabled, player markers are disabled, you can't leave mission, etc.
    6. Glitches, bugs and lags. In a game where you should be an agile javelin, there are too many cases when enemy hits you even if you dodged away.. It just didn't register. Or animation bugged when you was shot and you was not notified that smth is coming.

This game really works best if you play with strangers (Matchmaking) and mute all comms, which kind of defeats the purpose of a squad-based multiplayer game.

I purchased EA Premier to try out this game and promptly cancelled my subscription.

This has the potential to be a good game, but probably in a year of content and patches. but for me, i think to drop $60 on a game with promise of future content isn't really a complete game. i would pay for a car and wait to get doors next month. so i wouldn't do it a game either. potential yes, i hope it does get good. but i would save the money now and buy it later when its on sale.

After a week Bioware released so called Day One patch that somewhat shortened the loading times but that still didn't address the issue where you have to go through loading screen whenever you want to do anything in the game.

Combat is nice at first but after couple of hours where you fight the same enemies over and over again it just becomes tedious and boring. Loot is lame and not interesting.

Menus, menus everywhere, button clicks and button holds to the point that it's just retarded.
Developer's laziness on this field is beyond me and I really wish they would stop forcing console like menus on to PC. Stop, it!

Basically, wait for a year. The game might be in a better state than it is right now and you will probably pay way less.

Anthem is a poor try at Looter-shooter genre by BioWare, a studio loved by so many players back in 2008-2012 and now desperately trying to survive and not end up being closed by EA. And unfortunately, they failed.

Anthem is broken, broken in so many ways it hurts to even talk about: gunplay is weak and unenjoyable, character progression is lacking and boring, enemies are stupid and too easy, loot is also boring and there is not even that much to loot, the content just doesn't exist, no random events, no quests (those to progress the main story don't count, as they are basically there to prolong the campaign).

Everything that make Looter-shooter A Looter-shooter is fundamentally broken and lacking in every way possible, and even something that you'd think BioWare will actually do better, the story and characters are also terrible, plot is a typical B-movie about evil dude who wants to do evil things, characters are there to annoy you, they don't progress the plot, they don't give you any missions, they talk about nonsense and do nothing apart from that.

And even when you think that things couldn't go any worse than they already are, you realize that more than 90% of the time you spent on the game, consists of LOADING SCREENS. I haven't seen any triple-A game so buggy and poorly optimized than this one (except for Mass Effect: Andromeda, of course. What a joke you are, BioWare).

Just for you to understand, to enter the game you should suffer through the first loading screen, then you spawn in the Main Hub where you can talk to vendors and go enter your Javelin to actually start playing, which requires another loading screen, then you choose your weapons and mods and go to mission list which requires ANOTHER loading screen, and after that you choose a mission and the game sends you TO ANOTHER LOADING SCREEN, and only after that you can actually start shooting bad guys. When you finished you quit the mission and BOOM, another loading screen to show you what you've earned, and OH BOY ANOTHER LOADING SCREEN TO LOAD THE MAIN HUB AGAIN. And to play the game you need to repeat that EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
And I'm not even mentioning constant crashes and disconnects from your friends that BioWare didn't fix since closed "VIP" beta.

I spent 30 hours in this game, I don't know how but I made it through this horrible experience and now I can be 100% sure to say, that BioWare is doomed. You can bet that after a while they will abandon this game, like they did with ME:A, and shortly after EA will close them. And this really does hurt me, because I loved BioWare, I loved all Mass Effects and all Dragon Ages (even the second one, yep) prior to 2012. And now we can see how BioWare is slowly and painfully dying.

    This is so sad.
    It truly is.

It is no more repetitive than Warframe, probably the most grindy game that has ever been developed. It is also fun, but it really is the same exact thing over and over. But somehow that is not OK for Anthem. No, there is not enough content, and they are releasing more. It will probably be released on a schedule that is more in line with normal people playing the game. But the hyper hardcore 60 hour a week players are saying well there isn't enough content here. That is also repetitive as hell but they have done interesting things and I think Anthem can learn a lot from them. Anthem has a little ways to go. They have work to do and I hope them the best. Bugs aside, this game is really fun and engrossing if You as a gamer dont making a very fundamental mistake of comparing it to either a traditional online shooter or an Epic Bioware RPG masterpiece like Mass effect. Why? Because it is in a sub genre of its own. Being from Bioware, Everyone expects it to have a really deep and enriching story with branching dialogue and character decision Consequences that affect each and every aspect of the game. But doing that would not be sustainable or realistically possible for an online multiplayer co-op shooter as the game would have to track each and every branching decision You make and try to matchmake with people who have made the exact decisions or at-least decisions that, for the moment at-least, are aligned with your story line. And if You keep in mind that traditional branching story lines have thousands of possibilities and combinations, It would only add more load on the server, more work for the Ai, more load times(Yes, I know the current load times are also just a bit long). Not to mention the game size would also increase, there would have to be more updates to accommodate the continuing branching story if You are looking at it from an RPG perspective.
If You look at it unbiased, as what it is, An Online shooter with basic level rpg elements to give the story a sense of direction and continuity, You will have fun and really appreciate the game.
The Story, while not an Epic like Mass effect, is just interesting enough to keep You going. It makes more sense if You pay attention to and read up on the Lore, the tit bits of information You get from NPC's and the world itself.
The gameplay is fun, People have compared it to flying around like Iron man and It is. The shooter mechanics are also fun and really well made. Some people have called it repetitive but guess what all shooters are. Infact every game You take, whether shooter or Hack and slash, Especially an MMO, at the end of the day, You are running around either shooting or hacking and collecting loot. There's no different way to shoot but with Anthem Atleast, You can hover in the air and shoot, Play as storm and unleash Awesome Lightning strikes and do so much more.
Visually, this is stunning and plays so smooth. You need to experience this first hand to know how visually exciting the game world is.
Another Good thing is that Bioware have not been greedy like other devs who try to charge for everything. Note I have Not mentioned EA here as EA traditionally try to squeeze every penny from players. IN ANthem, surprisingly EA have acted a bit Civilized . In Anthem, All guns and essential items can be unlocked through progression. The only micro-transactions are focused on cosmetics like buy exotic paints or skins for your javelin. And buying exotic crafting materials.
Now coming to the Issues, Bugs, This is something that Bioware need to address. The HDR on pc looks dull and washed out. Switching HDR off really makes the game look beautiful. So if Bioware fix the HDR, just imagine how much better the game would look.
Reduced Load screens, Voice chat and server stability are other things that need to be addressed. The game however is just launched and future patches should address this.
If You decide to give this a try, go into the game free from anybody's opinions and specially free from your own bias, then You will have fun. Remember, this is not an RPG but it is definitely better than an MMO

My biggest criticism of the game so far is that the interface isn't as nice as Destiny 2's. Not being able to just go look at my load out and having to go through an actual loading screen to do so is annoying. The guns aren't as satisfying to shoot as I'd like but that could be because I'm still fairly early in the game and have crappy guns, the skills on the Storm javelin are awesome though.
