I don't recommend it but it isn't bad. Get it on sale between $10-$20 and it's worth it.

The game isn't bad but it's a lot more dumbed down from AoE2. Here you can only select a few nations and are very restricted building units (you can only have a set amount,) same with buildings - can only have a few guard towers. On top of that you can't build large cities anymore, they're mostly

On top of that you can't build large cities anymore, they're mostly just small villages. The graphics are indeed better, it looks and plays great. But I wish it could be more drawn out and not as restricted. The screenshots are very deceptive.

Age III is a decent addition to the AoE series, but somehow manages to fall short.

Age of Empires, Age of Empires II, and Age of Mythology are better.

I would say that one of the few points in which Age of Empires III excels over the other games in the series would be the graphics. The game campaign is rich in history but poor in editing. Many of the campaign scenario and game mechanics items are reused and used for a variety of purposes, and you realize that it is as if everything is "improvised," and that makes a very bad impression.I would say that one of the few points in which Age of Empires III excels over the other games in the series would be the graphics. This effect is increasingly gradual as the three acts of the game progress. Expand
