    Gameplay and combat has its downfalls, there are clearly some attempts from the devs to spice up the overall feel of the combat but it needed a major haul. I would've appreciated less hand holding, and more freedom. Also, they really need to step up their in-game / facial animations. I found cutscenes enjoyable, overall mocap was fine actually. But a glaring issue was that in certainGameplay and combat has its downfalls, there are clearly some attempts from the devs to spice up the overall feel of the combat but it needed a major haul. I would've appreciated less hand holding, and more freedom. Also, they really need to step up their in-game / facial animations. I found cutscenes enjoyable, overall mocap was fine actually. But a glaring issue was that in certain parts of the game where Amicia slowly walks and talks and some story is being told. These sections felt super weird and forced. Somehow it was "disconnected" from the overall feeling of the game. I'd have preferred more actual cutscenes rather than these "walking and talking " scenes. What is even sadder is that some high quality dialogues are being squandered by such a bad presentation, so it hurts extra.

    Graphics are amazing. It is truly a herald of what is to come. Story is great. It tells a heartfelt story with great character development. It manages to build up two characters from the ground up. Since they greatly botched the development of Beatrice/Lucas in 1st gam, it was refreshing to see actual characters that adds meaningful value to hugo and amicia's adventure in Arnaud and Sophia. Also story telling is not made in a omniscient way and for me it really adds a lot. You can live the surprise, suspense and curiousity of our adventurers.

    Overall, I enjoyed this game a lot ! If not for the weird combat sections where you "run around" with those horrible animations and shoot stuff around with your sling; it would be a perfect game. Stealth sections were really enjoyable from a gameplay perspective. Not great, but decent.

    These devs really have the potential to make something super great in future. I look forward to Asobo's productions. My only hope is that they go bigger and manage to secure a higher budget / longer production time.

Le studio essaie d'innover sur plusieurs mécaniques et c'est le plus gros défaut du jeu. Tout d'abord, on passe d'un jeu d'infiltration ou notre personnage est clairement plus faible à un jeu d'action. Et c'est très surprenant au début. Sans compter des phases de combat obligatoire. Alors un jeu d'action d'accord, mais pas dans un jeu qui n'est pas prévu pour. Le premier jeu n'a pas instaurer cette ambiance et les mécaniques nécessaires, ce qui fait que le combat est frustrant inutilement, pas satisfaisant et peu impressionnant. Le jeu échoue clairement sur ce point. Cependant tout n'es pas à jeter. les énigmes avec les rats sont très réussi et plus amusantes que dans le premier (on aurait aimé même plus d'énigmes avec les rats). l'histoire est incroyable et l'écriture très bonne. Certains moments sont noyés sous les dialogues malheureusement mais on passe aisément à côté de ce défaut. Enfin, le level design est excellent, le jeu est très joli même si peu optimisé. En conclusion, un bon jeu, que je recommande au fan du premier jeu. Ceux qui ne connaissent pas cependant, je vous conseille de faire d'abord le premier, puis, de voir si le 2 vous intéresse.… Expand

Остальное время - это нудная ходьба с тупыми диалогами и кривым стелсом. Первая часть мне зашла. Вторая - просто проходной мусор. С таким успехом лучше бы я 20 часов играл в пасьянс-косынку, чем в это. И то интереса было бы больше.Никчемная оптимизация, душный геймплей, скучный сюжет. When I saw every game being delayed for next year i tough "well with GOW Ragnarok, GOTY award is just delivered, A Plague Tale: Requiem are crazy if they think..." boy was I wrong... I don't know who will take the award (God of War 2018 with Red Dead Redemption 2 was side by side), but this game man, definitely is side by side with what Ragnarok will be,I just finish this game, and man...     Вторая часть мне очень понравилась. В первую очередь это игра про сюжет, не про геймплей, хотя и он тут есть и хороший. Местами конечно надоедают коридоры из стражников, от которых нужно прятаться, особенно их тупость когда ты сидишь в траве на самом ее краю и тебя точно видно, но нет. Окей это игровая условность. Но когда ты получаешь арбалет и вкачиваешь его на максимум происходит имба -Вторая часть мне очень понравилась. В первую очередь это игра про сюжет, не про геймплей, хотя и он тут есть и хороший. Просто ходишь и анигилируешь всю карту. Короче это имба, но приятная, ведь тебе/героине так надоело прятаться и так хочется уже спасти своего брата.
    И вот с сюжетом как раз все отлично, правда к 7-8 главе наверно теряешь немного интерес как раз таки из за коридоров стражников, но потом он набирает ход и становится тяжело остановиться, а ты получаешь арбалет!    … Expand

    This is an actual masterpiece... I cried like a b*tch on last chapter. Despite the fact that it was randomly crashing almost every hour, let the developers have my big-big thanks for such experience. It Is so hard to find nowadays. And the music - just nothing to say but admiration. "No turning back" will always be in my heart since now.

    Beautiful game with a fantastic and emotional story. Gameplay has been expanded since the first title, but it is still very much a stealth-centered experience. Absolute pleasure to engage with this narrative experience. Massive kudos to the devs and writers. Brilliant close to a unique series.

    Great story, amazing visuals that'll make your jaw drop while looking at the scenery in awe. Truly beautiful looking game. Oh and the rats, there are millions now, much more than ever before.
    Also, the music is incredible, If you liked the previous game, you'll love this. Amazing work    Perhaps the gameplay gets old real quick but everything else about this game is absolutely perfect.

    Those people complaining its too long need to realize you are not supposed to just tear through something as soon as you buy it in one sitting.

    Yes it is longer than the first but it packs a lot more in as well as a large range of new mechanics with the sling. One thing that may really annoy you is every time you reach a workbench you probably won't have enough materials to upgrade anything.

    I guess that's why NG+ is so appealing as it allows you to keep everything you had in the first playthrough to the next one so you can max out all your abilities.

    Anyway excellent sequel to an already good game. This just added much more. Some of the things they managed to pull off are jaw dropping especially the increase in the rat population.    … Expand

    This game has spectacular views which makes me keep taking screen shots all the time. The story is a good one, especially the ending. There are many different interactions with NPC (like telling them to operate something or catching the torch you throw to them), which also makes it very interesting.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Awesome game. Actual masterpiece. But even in such greatness we have something bad.

    First is of course optimisation, there's nothing to talk about.

    Second one is ending. I think it should be illegal to do endings like this. For 2 games straight we fought for Hugo's life, but in the last 5 minutes we had to give up everything and kill him. So everything was pointless. Everyone who died in our pursuit of the cure, everyone who sacrificed their lives to help us, it all was for nothing because writers decided to make this story even more tragic than it's already is.

Three years later, it is absolutely incredible that we can play a complete sequel, and with such a huge jump in visual fidelity, because Plague Tale: Requiem is a very beautiful looking game, for sure. Let’s talk    Incredible Graphics and Sound presentation.

    The first game in this saga, A Plague Tale: Innocence, surprised many people with its great graphics and story, back in 2019.

    Three years later, it is absolutely incredible that we can play a complete sequel, and with such a huge jump in visual fidelity, because Plague Tale: Requiem is a very beautiful looking game, for sure.

    Let’s talk Performance, firstly: on my Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3060 Ti, the game is often at, or close to, the 60 FPS cap I manually set via Rivatuner, at 1440p DLDSR, Ultra Settings, with Quality DLSS.
    I also spent quite a lot of time at 1620p DLDSR, but with Balanced DLSS, and the results were pretty similar.
    The one setting that impacts performance the most is Draw Distance, but it depends on the area, so my advice with that one is to lower it to High or even Medium, but you will see some popping in the more open areas, not so much indoors.

    In the occasions where my system cannot keep 60 FPS, it often hovers around the low 50s, and the worst I’ve seen in this game is 45 to 48, particularly in a couple scenes.
    Overall, paired with my Gsync monitor, not a big deal, but I’ve also noticed small short frametime spikes when the game does an auto-save, not too bad, but they’re there, sometimes.

    Considering how amazing the visual presentation is in this game, I think the performance is quite justified and it’s not that difficult to play at a higher and better performance and settings level than current generation consoles.

    Sound design is also incredible in this game, particularly if you can use Dolby Atmos, but even without it, the game sounds incredible, and the soundtrack is absolutely fantastic.

    When it comes to Characters, much like Innocence, Requiem does not disappoint at all, and getting into specifics would be spoiler territory, so I’m going to avoid that, but be prepared for various kinds of feelings, happiness and sadness all over, much like in the first game.

    I had a great time with the game, its improved combat mechanics over the first installment, and exploring the levels, which are much bigger than in Innocence, but still in a familiar way: I never felt lost or anything like that, this is not an open world game.

    My only nitpick about it is the skills progression system, which is completely tied to how we play: three types of tiers and each one corresponds to playing full on aggressive, full on stealthy or a mix or both, and after each area with enemy encounters, and the game does an auto-save, you will see sometimes you have leveled up one or various of those progression tiers.
    Therefore, there’s “player choice” involved here, but the game fails a bit at properly explaining how this works, especially early on.

    All in all, still an amazing experience, and very much worth playing if you liked Innocence, both games together make up for an incredible saga, and it will be interesting to see what the future holds for this series.    … Expand

    I could write for hours about how much this second chapter improves both narrative and gameplay from the first title, however I'll just focus on Amicia; This is the true Amicia. Amicia 2.0 is relatable and inspiring, everything that Amicia 1.0 lacked (and not because her character was willingly written like that, I believe Amicia 1.0 lacked a lot of aspects that make a human a human, and aI could write for hours about how much this second chapter improves both narrative and gameplay from the first title, however I'll just focus on Amicia; This is the true Amicia. Amicia 2.0 is relatable and inspiring, everything that Amicia 1.0 lacked (and not because her character was willingly written like that, I believe Amicia 1.0 lacked a lot of aspects that make a human a human, and a girl a girl). Her character experiences a wave of good and bad moments and finally it reacts to them as a woman her age would do. Hers is a path of awakening towards the "letting things go" and not only "holding on" which is a perfect ending to the series.… Expand

    Luka is the best character in the game, who was pushed to the 2nd plan, IMHO!
    But still THANK YOU for a worthy continuation of Innocence.

    8,5 without the performance issues, this game touched me a lot, the gameplay is cool i found more offensive than innocence.

    The water is ugly.. haha and the facial expression not amazing but all the other textures are really detailed .
    If you liked innocence you will adore requiem.
    We can see a real inspiration from the last of us while playing.

    The scenery and locations in this game were very beautiful and very varied.
    The combat system was expanded a bit compared to innocence, but was the same at its core.
    I personally liked the fact that the areas were a bit more open. There were more paths you could go, instead of just the one scripted way.
    I don't want to write too much, so I'll get to the best part of the game: The Story.
    Asobo Studios have outdone themselves here.
    The writing of the story and the character development has been improved a lot in Reqiuem and for that Asobo gets my full respect. At first it drags a bit, but as time goes on, this once unusual story forms into a fantastically told drama about a boy affected by a mysterious "disease" and his sister, who would do anything for him. I won't spoil anything here, of course. It would be too bad if you guys out there don't experience this story for yourselves.
    Another thing I must mention is the acting of the voice actors. Especially Amicia.
    I think I would go so far as to say that I haven't seen/heard better acting to portray emotions in a video game. It's pretty damn good.
    I have not discovered any Bugs in my playthrough, which I found
    astonishing. Nowadays, games rarely release bug-free.

    The biggest problem I had with Requiem was the performance.
    Was running it on a 3080ti and had some drops here and there.

    Other than that, I really enjoyed this game and can highly recommend it to anyone who likes a beautiful told story and a good sneaking game.    … Expand

    Это постоянно пытающаяся вогнать вас в напряжение приключение.. "Амиция, нас заметили стражники", "Амиция, нас окружили крысы", Амиция, опять стражники, опять крысы, опять опасность, опять прячемся.. И, благодаря неплохому саундтреку, работает это неплохо, но если в первой части, это всё происходит в первые разы, Амиция ещё не очень опытная, кое-какая интрига и интерес увидеть стаю крыс ещё присутствует, то вот в сиквеле эти постоянные "Ой, у них оружие - бежим", "Ой, у этих тоже оружие", "Ой, а эти нас тоже могут убить", в совокупности с постоянным нытьём главной героини о том, как всё постоянно плохо.. Ну, от этого так устаёшь, что вы будете дропать игру раз 5, прежде чем полностью пройдёте.
    Крч, основной геймплей тут - это стелс, да, вам доступно много способов убить противника, но..

But it still is an excellent game and I strongly recommend it for players that like a game with a good story and some really impressive visuals.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Plague Tale: Requiem is a work of love that is worth experiencing despite its flaws.
    When you look at this game, you have to keep in mind that Asobo Studios do not have the same resources as Naughty Dog or other AAA studios. They even use their own engine.
    Especially the outdoor areas look fantastic, the lighting seems like an Unreal 5 tech demo and the composition is often just perfect. That doesn’t mean the whole game looks superb. Characters also look great and their animations are good, but like some wrote facial animations can be a bit stiff in extremely emotional situations, most of the times I found them really good enough though.
    The voice acting is great, especially Amicia, and it’s true that Hugo’s voice can get annoying, but he is a young kid and that’s just quite authentic. An underlying issue makes this just more of a problem than it should be: The constant topic between Amicia and Hugo is the same and they go over and over and over it. If this was a 2 hour movie, it would have been fine, but 10-12 hours of the game is simply too long to let the characters exchange the same fears and topics again and again. At some point even a NPC tells them to shut up... so the writers were quite aware. Sadly, they also changed to British accents, which takes away some part of authenticity.
    Sound and music are well done and support the medieval theme and mood greatly.
    I would say that the story is presented well and quite emotionally touching, but definitely not a great one (will get to that later in detail). Dialogues are written in a simple way, which is often alright, but sometimes certain word uses gets repetitive and there is definitely squandered potential.
    And the gameplay? Well, you can craft now more useful ammo types to either control the rats or the lights (on/off). The AI and the sneaking part remains mostly the same, its formula is applied in different ways, but never gets you really excited. Why is there never an urgency through time pressure, for example? Or why do the soldiers never actively burn the fields? They could have done much to break up the stale formula of the stealth gameplay.
    The skill system has a balancing issue at least with the upgraded crossbow, which will give you back all your bolts back from corpses and then leads to just shooting everyone dead without any hassle. Also, they had the idea to connect it to the story and have people tell you constantly, that you should control yourself and so on. Of course, the writing team wanted to avoid the same problem as in Tomb Raider (2013): A young woman becomes a mass murdering machine, but is actually a quite nice and normal person. Let’s just say that also Asobo Studios didn’t solve it and by rubbing your nose into it, they just made it worse.
    The riddles are another part of the gameplay and I did like one or two, most of them were more of the same from Plague Tale part one and some were really a drag (the four cranes!). Unlike others, I didn’t fear the rats (anymore) and I was tired of getting from light to light in some artificial way.
    Sorry, but after that long time with the rats Amicia didn’t think to purchase a simple steel torch??? Or just keep the ones along the way? With that tool they would have walked through the whole game without a hassle. I know, it’s just a game, games are gamey, but this shows where games need to improve.
    And then there is the option to control the rats through Hugo, which I thought would be the new selling point of this part, but no. You can use it kinda 1-2 times and it’s also not that fun actually.
    And the fact that even in fights you hold hands with Hugo is clumsy from a movement perspective and in reality you wouldn’t do that, especially if you want to protect the child...
    The story: Unlike the first part, Plague Tale: Requiem is about superlatives. A bigger part of the game is a constant chase which almost feels like a rollercoaster ride, meaning it doesn’t care how much sense it all makes and focuses more on the spectacle.
    The “treasure hunt” for the truth about the macula is even for Indiana Jones standards illogical and the conclusions about the clues from Amicia more than far-fetched. Also, the underground architecture is ludicrous. Of course it’s impressive and a wow-moment when you look at it, but for me it’s just a step too far and it breaks the immersion a bit. Same goes for the rat chase sequences, which are so obviously fake.
    Personally, I am fine with the ending and it actually takes away some frustration from the fact that you actually did not find a cure. It's just a simple story about people fighting the inevitable.    … Expand

    A beautiful game, I have an RX 6700 XT (which is below recommended) I have a stable 60 fps (even with vsync on) gameplay on ultra settings preset. Graphics are incredible. Definitely the best game I've played since Cyberpunk 2077!

    Звук который заикается и глючит каждый раз когда на экране появляются хвалёные толпы крыс. А иногда звук глючит и просто так. Качество текстур оставляет желать лучшего. Отсутствие FSR (хотя бы версию 1.0 дали бы, но нет). Даже на высоком уровне графики текстуры превращаются в мыло.
    Стелс миссии. Ммм, просто блаженство. Ты можешь бежать через всю локацию с Гуго и никто тебя не убьёт, особенно если проигрывается анимация открывания дверей.
    Растягивание сюжета, сотнями разговоров и медленной ходьбы, надоедают уже через 15-20 минут.
    Вначале игры говорится о том что надо бежать, Гуго плохо и его надо лечить, но нет "А пройдёмся ка мы по полю и пособираем перья, а?"
    Отвратительное построение сюжетной линии лишь усугубляет и без того шаткое положение игры, из-за отвратительной графики и отсутствия оптимизации.

    В заключении хочу сказать лишь одно. Когда критикам заносят чемодан с деньгами и они пишут хорошие отзывы, это не гарантирует что игра классная.    … Expand

    The game is boring, very overrated, what I can't understand it's how people gives a 10 to this game when you can't play 60 fps even in 1440p, this people is the same that gave a 0 to games like cyberpunk or elden ring based on the performance

The acting is decent and the relationship between Hugo and Amecia is actually very endearing and Hugo is surprisingly palatable as child characters go and is given a nice amount of agency making him feel like a more 3 dimensional character compared to what often happens with child characters in games who are relegated to acting more as plot devicesVery few complaints about this game.     Bugs. To developers - seriously, I don't believe that you never encounter a problem when you cannot walk through an invisible wall on the last step on a ladder. Because I somehow had that issue a few times already.
    It is another semi-tested product.

    Such an Amazing Game trust me If you play this game it gives you the FEELS of your Life, the story is amazing and the Characters too but Be warned this will be a Roller coaster of Feelings that some are not prepared for.

    That little kid that you have to escort around 100 % of the time is annoying. And you can't kill him or throw him to the wolves. Who the hell wants to play a never ending escort mission???

    This game brings tears of joy and sadness like the first one did. But here, everything hits way harder. From the improved gameplay and amazing voice acting to the breathtaking soundtrack and visuals, this is an expirience you will never forget. If there are games that deserve 10/10 even if only for the story, this is one of them.

    Beautiful graphics, great story, really good game. Optimization could be better but FSR 2,1 mod can fix framerate and still looks good. Btw, I play on GTX 1050 2GB on 1080p Low settings with FSR on Ultra Performence. Framerate is somthing like 40-50fps.

    Spending money on next gen hardware? Do you like 30 frames per second so this can run on the series S that will hold gaming back for another 10 years thanks to Microsoft's terrible decision process of making a cheap version of its console with obsolete hardware?

    O jogo continua uma mesmice, você passa o jogo inteiro correndo, se escondendo, fugindo de rato e de vez em quando jogando pedras, o jogo tem um exagero de cutscenes e só fica interessante no final, porém quando chega no final e jogo volta a ficar chato, ele vale no máximo 100 reais, e o pior de tudo é que não é audio em PT-BR

    very poorly optimized game how this got released in this state i don't know, what i do know is this game is only for those with a 4090, without Frame generation you don't have a chance to run this game smoothly,  even with my 3080ti i my gpu struggles to hold 60fps constantly dropping frames, those with older GPU have no chance. I will never buy from this developer ever again.

This is really good, single player game and I am looking forward to experience the rest of the game. Easily 10 out of 10 game for me.     I have the chance to play on a 3080... between 55 and 60 fps in ultra and 200% display. This is a game for people who love good stories and epic travels. Definitely fan of this.

    Simply an incredible experience!

    While the first was great on its own, Requiem has highly raised the quality of visuals and added smoother gameplay choices. The story is gripping at moments, but the amount of extreme rat "popcorn" tech is simply mind-blowing!

    Great follow-up. It's another story about the tragic fate of two siblings. It doesn't bring anything groundbreakingly new, but it improves on what worked and surprised in the first volume, and because of that, it still entertains. [Issue#323]

    A Plague Tale: Requiem is a pitch-black sequel that makes sure to remind you of that suffocating feeling at every chance, with scenes of hopelessness, the stench of putrefaction and a deluge of filthy rodents. It's not pleasant, but is should be lauded nonetheless.
