    Not as good as Innocence, but still a great freaking game! I really hope Asobo Studio keep making this kind of games from now on.

    The story and gameplay were very repetitive at times, but I played until the end of the story. Since there are not many alternatives in the cinematic playground, they could enter the field of the best, but they could make the gameplay richer. Attempts to extend game time sometimes brought the game to the point of quitting.

    Amazing seuqel to an amazing game. It's bigger, longer and I had great time playing it, even though it's very linear and you have almost no space to improvise/explore.

    Plague Tales are my favourite games of all time. From someone who has played 35+ story games including RDR2, both Norse GOD of Wars, horizon zero dawn, all three Assassins creed RPGs etc. Great presentation and the most heartfelt and emotional story with the most beautifully written, acted and designed characters I've experienced.

    Also I consider these survival games rather than stealth games

    As I played the first and the second game one after the other, this one seemed just continuing the story. I saw where the story was going and I am very happy (and a bit surprised) that the end was exactly what I expected.

    Plague Tale Requiem é uma ótima continuação que me deixou ainda mais envolvido com seus personagens e com o mundo belo, mas cruel. O trabalho de desenvolvimento foi excelente, Amicia e Hugo são personagens ainda mais aprofundados. Adorei poder ver cenas que destacam o lado mais frágil da protagonista, mesmo com mudanças no combate que a transformaram em uma máquina de guerra. QueroPlague Tale Requiem é uma ótima continuação que me deixou ainda mais envolvido com seus personagens e com o mundo belo, mas cruel. O trabalho de desenvolvimento foi excelente, Amicia e Hugo são personagens ainda mais aprofundados. Adorei poder ver cenas que destacam o lado mais frágil da protagonista, mesmo com mudanças no combate que a transformaram em uma máquina de guerra. Quero destacar também Lucas, um personagem secundário que acabei me importando mais do que os protagonistas. Que garoto fofo!

    O jogo é lindo, os gráficos são maravilhosos e a direção de arte cria visuais incríveis. A evolução gráfica é muito notável. Devo ressaltar que o design de áudio é absurdo, os efeitos sonoros misturados com as trilhas criam atmosferas muito impactantes. A escolha de cada trilha é muito bem feita e cuidadosa. Adorei o paralelo com o início do primeiro jogo e o final do segundo, onde Amicia se aventura em uma floresta com a música tema ao fundo.

    Em resumo, este jogo é uma ótima continuação que supera seu primeiro jogo em vários aspectos, apresentando uma história excelente, uma mitologia intrigante e personagens cativantes.    … Expand

    A real masterpiece. This is not only a game but a truly immersive and touching experience. Plote and characthers are written very well. Gameplay is an improvment over the first chapter. What really amazes is the artistic direction and the great variety of situations and scenarios. A big applause to the English dubbing which helps to make the dialogues even more touching.     It's just good, the characters are loveable, the gameplay is fun and the story is good. It has that Sony action-adventure vibe in it, with top-level story telling.

    Although Amicia now has a crossbow and some new alchemical tricks, the gameplay in this game has not changed much from the previous one. However, Gameplay is not the driving force behind this title. The key role is played by the storyline, which, unlike the previous part, keeps a level throughout the gameplay. The story cleverly broke out of its poor position after the end of Plague TaleAlthough Amicia now has a crossbow and some new alchemical tricks, the gameplay in this game has not changed much from the previous one. However, Gameplay is not the driving force behind this title. The key role is played by the storyline, which, unlike the previous part, keeps a level throughout the gameplay. The story cleverly broke out of its poor position after the end of Plague Tale Innocence and is only getting more interesting with time. On the plus side, there's also a non-obvious ending and a few twists and turns. Although I'm not an enthusiast of an exaggerated amount of fantasy elements, they are well balanced and don't get in the way. Particularly impressive during the gameplay is the great graphics, many times I came across landscapes at which I stopped for a longer moment. The atmosphere of medieval France was also brilliantly portrayed in the game. Returning to the gameplay, many times we come across different types of puzzles, which are not particularly difficult, but are a nice alternative to stealth or combat. Combat hasn't improved much from the previous game, and unfortunately there's definitely more of it, slingshot shooting at multiple armed enemies is not only absurdly unrealistic but also not very fun, and the newly added crossbow is not only too op, but shooting it doesn't provide any satisfaction. Sneaking, on the other hand, could sometimes be annoyingly difficult for me when it could come to situations where we had a window of a few seconds to evade enemies, and a minimal mistake ended up in detection. More than once I ran between enemies reaching the next checkpoint or getting killed and being reborn at the very end of the sequence. In conclusion, A Plague Tale Requiem is not a perfect title especially when it comes to gameplay, but it defends itself with a great story and is certainly a step up from its predecessor.… Expand

    PS: It has some of the most beautiful and horrifying graphics i've ever seen and the music is superb.
    Charlotte Mcburney (Amicia) did a excellent job in this game.

    Its just as good as the first with the focus shifted a tad more to combat rather then puzzles. They really outdid themselves this time with beautiful places and a superbly immersive world.

Продолжение ощущается намного бодрее, за счёт чего дарит совершенно другие эмоции. Локации стали просторнее и вариативнее, противники поумнели, а у главных героев теперь больше способов для их ликвидации. Появилась пассивная система прокачки, которая будет зависеть от вашего стиля прохождения, а так же увеличилось количество разнообразных боеприпасов, необходимых как для стелса, так и для более жёсткого стиля. Мир способен постоянно преподносить сюрпризы, загадки, и рассказывать разные истории. Его красоты повсеместно заставляют оглядываться вокруг. С их помощью разработчики как будто создают контраст и разбавляют тёмные и тяжёлые моменты, которые проживает игрок.

    После прекрасной и немного жуткой истории первой plague tale, качество исполнения этого аспекта в сиквеле сомнений не вызывало. В общих чертах сюжет прямо продолжает трогательную первую часть, и держит в напряжении до самого конца, заставляя больше прежнего переживать за прекрасно прописанных героев. Здесь история, хоть по началу и кажется немного красочнее, представлена ещё жёстче и серьёзнее. Всего за пару минут игра способна показать солнечные цветущие улицы Прованса, и его тёмные, пропитанные кровью и грязью, закоулки. Амиции и Гуго предстоит пройти ещё более трудный путь, на котором их ждут опасные испытания. В этот раз на помощь снова приходят как уже знакомые игроку персонажи, так и новые товарищи, которых мы встретим путешествуя по средневековой Франции.

    Requiem - это полностью линейная история, которая по моему мнению, не только не уступает большинству из хитов корпорации Sony, а чем-то даже превосходит их. Asobo Studio продемонстрировали одну из самых красивых игр на данный момент, сиквел удивляет своим дизайном и визуалом. А вкупе с талантливо написанной музыкой, шикарной историей, и достойной постановкой, выводит студию на абсолютно новый уровень.

    Может сказка и получилась немного затянутой, неоптимизированной, и где-то вторичной, по ней видно, что команда любила этот проект, вкладывала в него много сил, и в итоге создала что-то по-настоящему масштабное. Такое действительно достойно уважения.    … Expand

Amicia is now a woman and you can truly feel that. She has lost the innocence that was present in the first game.

The acting overall is wonderful, just like the first game. I kept staring at the main menu for 5 minutes because the Main Theme is just too much, it's impossible not to cry.     This is perhaps one of the few titles that really feels like a new generation game, and I'm not talking about stressing the hardware too much. The setting and the technical section are brutal, it is visually beautiful, but not everything is ''how it looks'', in games focused on the narrative the most important thing is ''how it feels'', it is a direct continuation of its prequel, I could say that its gameplay improved, it does not feel rough as the previous one felt in certain moments, now it is perceived greater versatility and they gave Amicia ways to defend herself removing the insta-kill present in the previous installment, also the stealth is improved.

    The story is completely tragic, in many parts of the game when apparently everything gets better, then it gets worse again and the situation feels even more complicated, this basically happens throughout the course of the game, somehow gives hope to then give light to an end not at all promising, but quite expected. All this is told through a symbiotic relationship between cinematics and gameplay very well constructed, in this sense one could believe that this is a PlayStation Studios game.

    Something that could be criticized is the optimization, especially on consoles, I played it on PS5 and my surprise was quite big when I found out that it was limited to 30 FPS and suffered terrible drops even at 20 FPS, that on PC was solved, since with quite demanding graphics settings I achieve 60 FPS stable in areas where there is no action and no abuse of alchemy and even better results using the mod that allows using the FSR technology (all this with a GPU equivalent to the new generation consoles).

    For me it is a game that everyone should play, I take into consideration that there are people who don't play games with plot and cinematics and stay in the typical generic shooter game #427, but this experience I would really wish it to anyone.

    In conclusion, A Plague Tale Requiem is A Plague Tale Innocence, but better and feels like a spiritual GOTY, which certainly had nothing to do against two giants, but it could have taken some consolation prize because it deserved it.    … Expand

While its combat elements of course aren't comparable to those of The Witcher for example, it excels at what it is designed for. Improving on the first game, you can finally more freely decide whether you want to sneak past everything, make use of the different slingshot/crossbow ammunition, or to mostly just brawl through, with most parts of the game offering you multiple paths/ways to the desired goal.

    What this game REALLY does better than any other game I have played so far is making a both realistic but wonderful looking world and environment that wonderfully fits the storytelling. The story itself is touching all the way through.

    While I usually prefer happy endings, this one just hits hard and... makes sense. An ending where they cured Hugo through some miracle or the power of friendship would have heavily undermined/retconned the characteristic obsession that Amicia pushed the group forward with.    … Expand

    Really liked the first and this improves on it in every way. Graphics are great, story is epic and moving, and gameplay is simple but fun. Highly recommend if you enjoy linear adventure games with great stories.

    Sin dudas este juego es el mejor que jugué en el 2022. La narrativa combinada con una banda sonora increíble hacen que sientas el juego en tu propia piel. Algunos critican la poca acción, yo creo que tiene el toque justo, a veces poco es mucho y este juego logra ser muy disfrutable tal y como está. Otra cosa que vi en algunas críticas es la cantidad de cinemáticas. Creo que es un juego deSin dudas este juego es el mejor que jugué en el 2022. La narrativa combinada con una banda sonora increíble hacen que sientas el juego en tu propia piel.     In Depth Review (SPOILERS):
    --The Good:--

    Graphics:
    Where do I even begin... this game is simply beautiful. Every second of this game is amazing and beautiful, looking better than most triple a games today. The developers obviously went all out on this one, putting their heart and soul into every single model, texture, and set piece in this game.

    Sounds & Music:
    In my honest opinion, the soundtracks for these games don't get the love that they deserve. The beautiful choral and orchestral scores always manage to blow me away whenever they kick in. Just have such a weight to them and a feeling of deep sadness. Sound queues also play a very important role in this game, giving tells as to whether an enemy is looking at you or coming your way. The perfect beautiful soundtrack and sound design to match the beautiful set design.

    The Characters:
    The most important part of this game that had to work for the whole game to work, is the relationship between Hugo and the player. This game knocks it out of the park. There's literally so many adorable Hugo moments that will melt the coldest of hearts, and leave them hollow by the time the credits roll. On top of Hugo, every side character in this game is very likable, and by the end of the game you genuinely care about all of them.

    The VA's
    No elaboration needed, they all killed it.

    --The Mid:--

    Story:
    Honestly the story felt like a wild goose chase. There's nothing objectively wrong with that, I just couldn't justify putting it in either the good or the bad category, so I think it belongs in the middle. It does a very good job getting the message across that it wants to, and it certainly is a step up from the confusing story of Innocence. However, this story mostly suffers from a confused third act that has waaaay too much going on, but the ending makes up for it. It's like a punch to the gut, then when you've just finished crying the final level happens and it just gets even worse.

    Gameplay:
    Many parts of this game are walking sims. It works if you enjoy listening to characters interact or admiring the scenery but it can get boring fast, especially if you are replaying. As mentioned in the difficulty section, it can be very broken but generally takes base elements from innocence and expands on them. Sometimes for better, and other times for worse.

    --The Ugly:--

    Difficulty:
    I've beat this game twice, first on Narrative difficulty (easy), and the second time on NG+ difficulty (hardest), and at best this game is ridiculously easy on both. I'm not a hardcore gamer and I really loved that narrative difficulty provided some challenge while mostly allowing me to appreciate the game for what it is, but NG+ felt like I was playing narrative mode again. There's several factors that make this game very easy and limit the replay-ability for players wanting more of a challenge their second time though. The "counter" system is literally broken. Basically if an enemy is alerted to you and walks toward you, you have the ability to attack and stun them for a short period of time. This trivializes the penalty for being caught. Where in Innocence, you would die and be forced to restart, in Requiem I would find myself countering the enemy then mad dashing toward the next section. Additionally, he fully upgraded crossbow also instantly trivializes the ENTIRE stealth system. Fully upgraded crossbow allows you to retrieve shot crossbow bolts off dead enemies, so you have infinite ammo for a weapon that one-shots all enemies (except fully armored ones which take 2 shots). As you can tell, this presents a problem for a game centered around using stealth and the environment to take out enemies.

    Facial Animations:
    This is more of a nitpick but whenever characters are out of cutscenes or scripted events, when they talk there is literally no facial expression. They just dead-eye, blank stare the camera and it feels like you're playing Skyrim.

    The Bad Camera Angle Rat Chases
    Felt like I was playing a resident evil game and killed me a lot more times than it should have.

    Amicia's Hair:
    Girl literally gets violated by Arnaud and has to buzz the sides because of it, then the Count makes it even worse and she just goes full bald. Second biggest tragedy in the game. RIP

    Conclusion: 9/10 would cry again    … Expand

    It has really learned a lot from its predecessor.
    At first I was afraid that it would be very similar to the first part and therefore not really varied, but that was definitely not the case.
    Many new mechanics were added, even Hide & Seek, which really lightened up the game.

    Pros:
    - No bugs
    - Many new mechanics
    - Very compelling story
    - Beautiful graphics
    - Working atmosphere
    - World had several "WOW" moments

    Cons:
    - Subtitles had spelling mistakes from time to time

    This game and series is one of the best series i have played in along time. The end shocked me and left me wanting more anwesers. I hope they make a 3rd and if you havent tried it yet i 100% recommend. Just make sure you are aware that there are some dark moments.

    Combat is a bit boring but this is a storytelling game so I was okay with it.
    A little bit too long though. Also, there were a few crashes here and there.

    Overall, one of the best game I have played this year.

If you want a game with non stop action and great gameplay/combat experience overall then this is not for you. But if you just want to experience one epic adventure with absolutely brutal atmosphere and great, relatable cast of characters then I can wholeheartedly recommend this game.… Expand

    The water is ugly.. haha and the facial expression not amazing but all the other textures are really detailed .
    If you liked innocence you will adore requiem.
    We can see a real inspiration from the last of us while playing.

Beautiful visuals, the world, profound characters, atmosphere, and amusing mechanics are so well-fit together! Although it kinda confuses itself whether it's a full-stealth game or something bigger than that. Meaning that if you try to pass every level (level design and their capacity pleasantly surprise) as stealthy as possible, some chapters of the story make you only fight even if you're not used to it.

What is even sadder is that some high quality dialogues are being squandered by such a bad presentation, so it hurts extra.

    Graphics are amazing. It is truly a herald of what is to come. Story is great. It tells a heartfelt story with great character development. It manages to build up two characters from the ground up. Since they greatly botched the development of Beatrice/Lucas in 1st gam, it was refreshing to see actual characters that adds meaningful value to hugo and amicia's adventure in Arnaud and Sophia. Also story telling is not made in a omniscient way and for me it really adds a lot. You can live the surprise, suspense and curiousity of our adventurers.

    Overall, I enjoyed this game a lot ! If not for the weird combat sections where you "run around" with those horrible animations and shoot stuff around with your sling; it would be a perfect game. Stealth sections were really enjoyable from a gameplay perspective. Not great, but decent.

    These devs really have the potential to make something super great in future. I look forward to Asobo's productions. My only hope is that they go bigger and manage to secure a higher budget / longer production time.

Despite the fact that it was randomly crashing almost every hour, let the developers have my big-big thanks for such experience. It Is so hard to find nowadays.     Beautiful game with a fantastic and emotional story. Gameplay has been expanded since the first title, but it is still very much a stealth-centered experience. Absolute pleasure to engage with this narrative experience. Massive kudos to the devs and writers. Brilliant close to a unique series.

    Excellent game with an interesting plot and fantastic graphics and locations.
    Those people complaining its too long need to realize you are not supposed to just tear through something as soon as you buy it in one sitting.

    Yes it is longer than the first but it packs a lot more in as well as a large range of new mechanics with the sling. One thing that may really annoy you is every time you reach a workbench you probably won't have enough materials to upgrade anything.

    I guess that's why NG+ is so appealing as it allows you to keep everything you had in the first playthrough to the next one so you can max out all your abilities.

    Anyway excellent sequel to an already good game. This just added much more. Some of the things they managed to pull off are jaw dropping especially the increase in the rat population.    … Expand

    This game has spectacular views which makes me keep taking screen shots all the time. The story is a good one, especially the ending. There are many different interactions with NPC (like telling them to operate something or catching the torch you throw to them), which also makes it very interesting.

    First is of course optimisation, there's nothing to talk about.

    Second one is ending. I think it should be illegal to do endings like this. For 2 games straight we fought for Hugo's life, but in the last 5 minutes we had to give up everything and kill him. So everything was pointless. Everyone who died in our pursuit of the cure, everyone who sacrificed their lives to help us, it all was for nothing because writers decided to make this story even more tragic than it's already is.

    I had one lost save for some reason. Played thru Xbox game pass on PC. Very good story game. If you like a great tale, you'll love these two games!

Three years later, it is absolutely incredible that we can play a complete sequel, and with such a huge jump in visual fidelity, because Plague Tale: Requiem is a very beautiful looking game, for sure. Let’s talk    Incredible Graphics and Sound presentation.

    The first game in this saga, A Plague Tale: Innocence, surprised many people with its great graphics and story, back in 2019.

    Three years later, it is absolutely incredible that we can play a complete sequel, and with such a huge jump in visual fidelity, because Plague Tale: Requiem is a very beautiful looking game, for sure.

    Let’s talk Performance, firstly: on my Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3060 Ti, the game is often at, or close to, the 60 FPS cap I manually set via Rivatuner, at 1440p DLDSR, Ultra Settings, with Quality DLSS.
    I also spent quite a lot of time at 1620p DLDSR, but with Balanced DLSS, and the results were pretty similar.
    The one setting that impacts performance the most is Draw Distance, but it depends on the area, so my advice with that one is to lower it to High or even Medium, but you will see some popping in the more open areas, not so much indoors.

    In the occasions where my system cannot keep 60 FPS, it often hovers around the low 50s, and the worst I’ve seen in this game is 45 to 48, particularly in a couple scenes.
    Overall, paired with my Gsync monitor, not a big deal, but I’ve also noticed small short frametime spikes when the game does an auto-save, not too bad, but they’re there, sometimes.

    Considering how amazing the visual presentation is in this game, I think the performance is quite justified and it’s not that difficult to play at a higher and better performance and settings level than current generation consoles.

    Sound design is also incredible in this game, particularly if you can use Dolby Atmos, but even without it, the game sounds incredible, and the soundtrack is absolutely fantastic.

    When it comes to Characters, much like Innocence, Requiem does not disappoint at all, and getting into specifics would be spoiler territory, so I’m going to avoid that, but be prepared for various kinds of feelings, happiness and sadness all over, much like in the first game.

    I had a great time with the game, its improved combat mechanics over the first installment, and exploring the levels, which are much bigger than in Innocence, but still in a familiar way: I never felt lost or anything like that, this is not an open world game.

    My only nitpick about it is the skills progression system, which is completely tied to how we play: three types of tiers and each one corresponds to playing full on aggressive, full on stealthy or a mix or both, and after each area with enemy encounters, and the game does an auto-save, you will see sometimes you have leveled up one or various of those progression tiers.
    Therefore, there’s “player choice” involved here, but the game fails a bit at properly explaining how this works, especially early on.

    All in all, still an amazing experience, and very much worth playing if you liked Innocence, both games together make up for an incredible saga, and it will be interesting to see what the future holds for this series.    … Expand

Amicia 2.0 is relatable and inspiring, everything that Amicia 1.0 lacked (and not because her character was willingly written like that, I believe Amicia 1.0 lacked a lot of aspects that make a human a human, and aI could write for hours about how much this second chapter improves both narrative and gameplay from the first title, however I'll just focus on Amicia; This is the true Amicia. Amicia 2.0 is relatable and inspiring, everything that Amicia 1.0 lacked (and not because her character was willingly written like that, I believe Amicia 1.0 lacked a lot of aspects that make a human a human, and a girl a girl). Her character experiences a wave of good and bad moments and finally it reacts to them as a woman her age would do. Hers is a path of awakening towards the "letting things go" and not only "holding on" which is a perfect ending to the series.… Expand

    Great follow-up. It's another story about the tragic fate of two siblings. It doesn't bring anything groundbreakingly new, but it improves on what worked and surprised in the first volume, and because of that, it still entertains. [Issue#323]

    A Plague Tale: Requiem is a pitch-black sequel that makes sure to remind you of that suffocating feeling at every chance, with scenes of hopelessness, the stench of putrefaction and a deluge of filthy rodents. It's not pleasant, but is should be lauded nonetheless.
