A Fold Apart brings you into a personal and deep story. It’s a story that invites you into a deep and meaningful relationship between two characters. It’s a game that’s real, and that’s why I love it.

A Fold Apart is about hope and how love can get us through even the toughest of times. In that way, it's timeless.

A Fold Apart is a simple game with a simple story that manages to still make players connect deeply with it. The puzzles are fun and rewarding to solve, and watching the Teacher and Architect try to fix their relationship is very moving. Players will be forced to think outside the box, as no other puzzle game is quite like it. A Fold Apart is a truly special puzzle game that will leave players thinking about it for days after they finish.

Despite my disappointment with the ending message, everything else was so delightful about A Fold Apart that I had trouble finding fault with the title aside from that. Cute and colorful graphics with relaxing challenges made A Fold Apart a fun little puzzle game to tear through in one sitting, the mechanic utilized perfectly throughout. If you are looking for a different kind of puzzle game that delves deep into emotions while providing a unique challenge, you really can’t go wrong with Fold Apart.

Short but very sweet, A Fold Apart is a hug in game form that’s sure to warm even the hardest of hearts.

A Fold Apart was a charming gaming experience with a story true to what being in a long-distance relationship can be like. I love its art style and graphics and its unique way of doing puzzles. I also loved the unexpected feature to choose the gender of your characters.

It may not have the flashiest or most exhilarating gameplay, but A Fold Apart achieves almost everything it sets out to do, which is to truly put you in the shoes of someone in love — and someone in pain. Undeniably, it will make you sad, but this is a testament to how well the game’s creators executed the delivery of the story. I didn’t feel as though I was actively playing a puzzle game or reading a work of fiction. I sincerely felt like I was glimpsing into the lives and minds of a real couple right in front of me, and for that, I think this game is worthy of your time.

A Fold Apart is short and pricey, for sure, but the few hours it offers are an arresting blend of devious puzzling and heart-rending storytelling. Infinitely more so if you've been in a long-distance relationship.

A Fold Apart stands apart from its indie puzzler peers thanks to a heartwarming story and some truly innovative paper riddles.

A Fold Apart is a different puzzle game, and that’s a good thing. The concept is novel, and I like a story with some emotional pull, but it never moves beyond that. I can’t think of a puzzle that stood out over the others or even a moment in the story that was particularly poignant. It all comes together in a presentable package. Its creative folding-paper mechanic makes it worth opening, even if what’s inside won’t overly excite you.

Despite its short duration and a couple of hiccups when it comes to controls, A Fold Apart captivates players through its charming story and innovative puzzles.

A lovely romance told in paper-folding puzzles. The everyday reality of a long distance relationship and clever mechanics create a beautiful, original game which has more room to evolve.

Telling a touching tale of a couple in a long distance relationship, A Fold Apart is a puzzle game with a bit of a difference and a whole lot of heart.

A Fold Apart is creative and bright, but it falls short on the execution of its own mechanics. The narrative is what will capture your attention as you go on a journey with these two love-starved characters. If you’re looking for an artful adventure, then you’ll find one here as assisting these characters to express their love through unconventional means was a great way to spend an evening.

A Fold Apart has great music and a great art style, but it's too short and its story is too uninteresting. Perhaps if the game spent more time developing the characters, its narrative would be more engaging, but as it stands, it's difficult to recommend it over the many other games with emotional stories out there.

This game is very much suited to younger children and anyone who enjoy puzzle games. There is no foul language or inappropriate themes, and the puzzles are presented in a constructive and entertaining way. Overall A Fold Apart is a job well done.

    A Fold Aparat
    Folding Paper and tearing hearts
A Fold Apart is a 3 hour long narrative based puzzle game about 2 people in a long distance relationship.. characters that can be any combination youd like, so you choose if blue or red is male or female, if the relationship is straight or gay ,to give you a more personal connection to these characters, This is a single player game though I did start out by playing with my girlfriend, at first wed each play as the different characters, but there isn’t really a balance of who you play as, so this quickly turned into more of a game for us t ocollaborate with problem solving, to do each puzzle together rather than separately, and the puzzles in fold apart are very up and down with their challenge and complexity, one puzzle you may instantly get while another youll be folding the paper every which way you can until something finally clicks.. and these moments are very satisfying…
A Fold apart takes place across 6 chapters and as the game progresses, new mechanics will be added.. you start out by simply folding and flipping the page to bring blocks together, to eventually being able to fold top to bottom, left to right… folding corners towards the end, disappearing platforms being thrown in, and even rotating the pages… all of which I found to be unnecessary.. the game was fine as is, and I feel the experience is short enough to not need constant gimmicks… levels started to get overwhelming towards the end..so much so that id start using the games hint system to just get through a level because too much was going on for me to want to try and figure out.. I wanted to just right back to the story..
Which is a gift and a curse… I didn’t notice the hint system until the final 2 chapters.. and once I realized this was a thing.. it kind of brok ethe game for me… the hints do too much for the player… I feel A fold Apart would greatly benefit from a one or 2 hint per puzzle rather than the game just straight up showing you the solution… its like having the answers in the back of the math book.. why would you bother solving the problem if you can fold the final page over and just write it down… especially with an overwhelming equation…
Overall though, I love the narrative focus of a fold apart, its more than just a paper folding puzzle game, its charming and emotional, you fel attached to these characters as youre chosing responses to text back and forth during this long distance relationship.. you feel the pain of both of these characters fighting to make this work… A Fold Apart is a great refresher on what love means, and on top of that is a nice little brain teaser…
    I give A Fold Apart
    a 7/10
