Jul 2, 2025Few games will ever meet the high expectations Breath of the Wild has set. The Switch 2 version is the best way to play an unforgettable title with better visuals and some neat new features.

Jun 22, 2025The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Zelda Breath of the Wild is undoubtedly the best way to enjoy this masterpiece. Once again, it's impossible to sulk despite the noticeable absence of little new features that could have been a welcome bonus. If you're in the process of finishing the game, or haven't had a chance to get into it yet, now's your chance. With its crisp resolution, exemplary fluidity and overall improvement in graphics, it's a real treat. A pristine nugget from the Nintendo Switch 1, here sublimated at a lower cost.

Jun 18, 2025The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still a phenomenal game, and it's now best played on the Nintendo Switch 2, with improved loading times, higher-resolution graphics, and that silky-smooth frame rate. Zelda Notes is entirely optional if you want to ignore it — and hopefully that sort of addition isn’t the main reason upgrades cost more (or anything).

Jun 16, 2025The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is already a classic, thanks to its incredible systemic open-world design that truly allows you to run wild and do whatever you’d like. It gives players the tools to experiment, do silly things constantly and make their adventure their own. And if you want to play it straight it’s a wonderful adventure game in its own right. The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is simply the game as you know it, but better thanks to its improvements to framerate and resolution.

Jun 15, 2025Yes, we dare to go for 20 (100)! The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is quite simply a unique experience that truly reaffirms the term "adventure game." Never has a game offered the player such a sense of freedom, constantly renewing the experience. The environments are magnificent, the dungeons are ingenious, and you can't help but enjoy the journey! There's no doubt about it: it's already a must-play, and the hours of gameplay that await you in a gigantic world full of content will remain in your memories for life!

Jun 13, 2025The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was one of the most defining games of the Nintendo Switch’s lifespan, but on the Nintendo Switch 2 it finally realises its full potential, as all performance issues have been removed by the more powerful hardware. Some slightly aged visuals do nothing to detract from the captivating open world design, which has been made all the more accessible by the Zelda Notes app. Whether you’ve played Breath of the Wild before now or not, this is undeniably the best way to experience one of the most influential video games of the last decade.
-
Jun 11, 2025One of the best video games ever made gets a substantial performance boost on the Switch 2 and provides the perfect opportunity for new players to jump in or for veterans to hoover up every last Korok.
-
Jun 10, 2025The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will go down as one of the best launch titles of all time. Yes, technically it's a Wii U game that was ported over to the Nintendo Switch, but Nintendo made the right decision in holding this game back. It perfectly compliments the Nintendo Switch and highlights why it has the potential to be such a great and versatile console. Many have doubted Nintendo's ability to bring this series into the modern age of gaming, but they've done that and taken it one step further in creating one of the best open-world action-adventure games ever made.
-
Jun 19, 2025Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Switch 2 further enhances the 2017 classic, with notable graphical improvements and stable performance. Now running at up to 4K and 60 FPS, the game finally delivers the fluidity many fans always wished for, with reduced loading times and a sharper visual presentation, all while preserving the beauty of the original art direction. The experience is virtually flawless, even in areas that previously suffered performance drops on the original Switch.

Dec 28, 2025At this very moment in time, I am actively thinking about replaying the game once again. I wanted to re-explore Hyrule, meet the new champions again, and go back and do some of the side quests I missed. If you have never even played the game before, I invite you to give it a shot. While the price may be a bit much, I promise you that you will come away with an unforgettable experience that you will remember for the rest of your life. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may not be the best game ever made, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a contender.

Jun 17, 2025An already amazing game made even better, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is superb in this upgraded format. Technically much more sound and with fun little extras, this is the definitive edition and a killer addition to the Switch 2 library. It's a shame that, ultimately, Zelda Notes is separate from the game, but it does add some great extra content for those willing to download and sync up.
-
Jun 16, 2025There can be no doubt that the Switch 2 Edition is the best way to play. This is mostly on account of its significant technical upgrades, though some of the new features in the Zelda Notes app are also welcome additions. It's just a shame that several other of those additions are of no real consequence.
-
Jun 11, 2025The Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade of Breath of the Wild is a technically impressive but content-light update.
-
Jun 11, 2025A nice technical upgrade of the modern classic, but nothing more. The Zelda Notes functions should have been in the game rather than on smartphones.
-
Jun 7, 2025Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is undoubtedly the best way to play one of the greatest games of all time. The visual and performance enhancements remove any issues that you may have had to endure with the original game. It's practically flawless from that perspective. Sadly, the Zelda Notes app really brings the whole thing down. Useful features that should have been implemented in-game have been relegated to your smartphone, and using it completely breaks immersion in this incredible world. I'm only thankful that it's not even remotely mandatory. Leave Zelda Notes to one side, and you've got the definitive presentation of a modern classic.

Jun 6, 2025If you’re yet to try this masterpiece then this is the best place to jump in, and if you’ve already got a copy of the original then the performance upgrades alone make the upgrade price worth it. [Switch 2 edition update]
