With this Nintendo Switch 2 version, Street Fighter 6 offers a portable version that lives up to other machines, but not on all levels. If the image is less fine than on PC/PS5/XSX, the high frame rate makes the fights as playable as on other machines, as much for playing alone, in local multiplayer or online. On the other hand, it is more on the World Tour where the shoe pinches because of clashes in 30 frames per second which clash with the fluidity of exploration. And if we can criticize the absence of a directional cross on the console, it does not prevent Street Fighter 6 on Nintendo Switch 2 from being a very good port which proves that the machine has the power it needs to accommodate titles available on other platforms, unlike its big sister, even the most competitive ones.

To a casual observer it looks almost identical to the PlayStation 5 version and while careful comparison shows it has less effects and the resolution is clearly being upscaled, the important thing is that multiplayer matches are all 60fps. That’s a big achievement for a launch game, especially as it supports rollback netcode and cross-play. The latter is vitally important in terms of ensuring a steady supply of opponents and while Nintendo’s online infrastructure won’t be put to the test until there are more Switch 2 owners in the world, it seems to work fine right now.

It supports an aggressive playstyle and in its first two seasons has introduced characters that feel more bold and daring than anything we saw in Street Fighter V until its final days. It is, undoubtedly, the best fighting game to play in 2025, and it’s shockingly good on Nintendo Switch 2.

Street Fighter 6 once again proves itself to be an outstanding fighting game, even on the Switch 2. The graphical downgrade is minor and most noticeable in handheld mode, while on a 4K TV the differences compared to more powerful consoles are significantly reduced. Being able to play it on the go is a major plus—especially since, unlike the original launch version from two years ago, this one includes all Season 1 and 2 characters at no extra cost. It also features two simple but fun exclusive modes designed for casual play with friends. The only major drawback is the World Tour mode, which runs at just 30 fps—something that can be quite frustrating. Aside from that, though, we’re still talking about one of the best fighting games of this generation, and it holds up well on the Switch 2. One word of advice: if you’re planning to play seriously, we strongly recommend investing in a proper controller—Joy-Cons are far from ideal for a game this technical.

Capcom’s decision to delay Street Fighter 6 to the Nintendo Switch 2 should be celebrated, as they succeeded in packing a big punch despite the Switch 2’s small package. It runs like a dream and lacks the graphical compromises that many Switch owners may be accustomed to seeing from AAA games. If you’ve been patiently waiting for a next-gen fighting title to take on the go, Street Fighter 6 is the breakout fighting game for the Nintendo Switch 2 launch.

Street Fighter 6 on Nintendo Switch 2 is probably the best version you can play. It's not top of the line in terms of resolution, but with DLSS you don't even notice, the performance is a nice stable 60 fps and we enjoyed it from the very first moments, net of a truly top-of-the-range effects system, so a great debut for the Nintendo console for an almost perfect game.

Street Fighter 6 rights the wrongs of its past with multiple modes for every player and strong battle systems like no other. It invites new players into the fold with well implemented, simpler control schemes, without losing sight of the hardcore player. The World Tour mode won’t be for everyone, but Street Fighter 6 stands tall as one of the best fighters Capcom has made.

This excellent fighting game arrives on Switch 2 with nearly all its content intact, great portable visuals, and exclusive motion-controlled party modes, although the 30 FPS cap in World Tour and blurry docked visuals slightly hurt the experience.

Street Fighter 6 on Switch 2 is a surprisingly good port and is hopefully emblematic of what we can expect with future Switch 2 ports. Yes, World Tour is far from perfect and could use a 30 fps cap or 40 in portable mode, but the majority of most players' time with the game will be spent either online or in the more traditional single-player modes. It also supports cross-play, so you’ll be able to fight against anyone else on any other platform.

Street Fighter 6 won't dethrone Super Smash Bros Ultimate as the best fighting game on the console, but it is a very solid port that is worth it for every Street Fighter fan who's main console is the Switch 2.

Street Fighter 6 is a fighting fan’s dream, packed with content and a variety of modes that let you play your way. Capcom has clearly put thought into accessibility, offering the Modern control scheme and even the somewhat questionable Switch 2-exclusive feature, Gyro Battles. World Tour is a fun and silly single-player adventure, though it’s held back by a 30fps cap. Still, Capcom has delivered an impressive port of the fighter with only minor compromises, making this the best way to take the fight on the go.

Street Fighter 6 is the best fighting game that has ever been possible to play in portable format, a version managed very competently by Capcom. However, the 30fps in World Tour is a very ugly blemish on the quality of a brilliant package.

Add to this the fact that the game includes local wireless combat, or that you can do the same with your avatar from World Tour mode, and you have an extremely versatile and functional version of what is one of the best fighting games of the moment.

So yeah, short speech, long test, Street Fighter IV 3D be damned, and the same conclusion as 18 months ago: Street Fighter 6 is a great brawler that beginners can tackle without getting too frustrated and pros will find enough depth to really get into it.
