Feb 24, 2026The game that saved the series, or at least rebirthed it taking the series back to its root while simultaneously modernizing it, now in great shape on a portable console with all extra content included.

Mar 3, 2026Overall, Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition is a fantastic return to form for the series. Sure, it’s a few years old now. But if you want the true Resident Evil experience ahead of playing Resident Evil 9 this is a great entry that’s well worth your time. Just keep the lights on if you’re playing at night. What was that sound…?

May 13, 2026The need to refresh the series has pushed us to a level of ugliness never before (or since) achieved in RE game. The Baker family makes for excellent and unsettling antagonists, and the setting is one of the most disgusting places in gaming history.

Feb 23, 2026Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 is, arguably, the best way to experience Capcom’s classic. With all content included, outstanding performance, and the added versatility of motion controls, this native version surpasses previous releases and becomes a must-play for survival horror fans.

Feb 24, 2026The Switch 2 version of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is very good, especially from a technical standpoint. Low-resolution textures aside, the game looks excellent, and the near-constant 60fps really makes the game feel close to what you got on the PS4, only now it's in a portable form. The core game remains as solid as ever, and with everything in one package, Biohazard is an easy choice for a Resident Evil fan who only has access to Nintendo platforms.

Jun 10, 2026Resident Evil 7 was the revitalisation the franchise needed, with everything suggesting that it may still be one of the best survival horror games in the series thanks to its first-person perspective that brings a sense of dread unlike anything felt before. Played in Switch 2’s handheld format, too, it is a whole other kind of nightmare that becomes the definitive horror pick for the system.

Feb 23, 2026All things considered, though, this is a solid way to play a solid entry in the series. Capcom learned a lot from this game, with the experiments made iterated on in all the future entries. I can’t really stay mad at Resident Evil 7, and this was a fun revisit. This won’t be the best version of the game, but most newcomers will be able to play a version of the game with solid parity to the other console versions. A patch to clean up some lingering performance issues, fix up the HDR as best as possible, and improve gyro aiming would go a long way.
