The game is very dark compared to other titles in the series, which is why i love it so much. It's filled with magical and depressing moments. Definitely a memorable and epic adventure.

Of all the Zelda games, this one definitely has the best side quests. The main game is not bad, but definitely sub par compared to the more popular releases, but the game definitely has some of the best side quests of all time.

Say what you want but that's how I feel Majora's mask is. The atmosphere in this game is so dark and so crazy that it still has that eerie feeling while playing. The sidequest, the masks, the actual gameplay. It was put together so well and I just have to say that I am so impressed with this game. In any case, as someone with no nostalgia attached to this game, I will give my objective review.

I'll start by saying that, for a game made in 2000, the game is pretty impressive at a handful of things. Up to now, I've heard a lot about the game, from "it's the greatest Zelda game", "it's the most underrated Zelda game", and "it's the most different Zelda game". None of which I agree with, but I respect those people's opinions, even if most are all about that nostalgia.

The pros: Characters, atmosphere, and them masks. This game is praised a lot for its characters and atmosphere, and I can see why. Devs only bothered to do 4 dungeons (with a few mini-dungeons) and put more emphasis on the characters. This was interesting, getting to know these characters, their routines, and whatnot. Or at least as much as 3 days can provide.
Dead people. Dead people everywhere. You stroll around places, watching people die, or talking to dead people, and taking their masks. Fun. The animation when putting 1 of the 4 major masks is just great. The "heartless clones" produced by Elegy of Emptiness is top tier creepy stuff. And that Happy Mask Salesman is one creepy dude. I wouldn't be surprised if he raped somebody on his way to meeting Skull Kid. He's something else until the very end. Even the Mirror Shield is creepy. But it was nice seeing Anju get married, and getting to know Tingle better too. I mean, at 35 and floating around all over the place, he's certainly a Class S weirdo, but at least he's helping his dad out by selling maps.
Music is absolutely fantastic, as is the music in Zelda games of this era, though of course, most of it is taken straight out of Ocarina of Time.
And of course, I can't forget the republicans at the Mayor's house. They have literally been watching the moon come right at them, and somehow they think it's a "groundless theory". Classic.

The cons: Inconsistencies. Inconsistencies everywhere. When traveling in time back to the past, a lot of your items disappear. Arrows, bombs, seeds, etc? Gone. Got some milk? No milk for you. Got the deed to some land? Gone too! But somehow you can keep bow, quiver, sword, shield, etc? I mean, sure, it'd suck if that's gone too because you'd have to redo a dungeon and whatnot, but then why take arrows and bombs taken away? What makes bottles so special that they stick around but the content inside does not? Makes no sense no matter how you try to spin it but whatever.
As fun as masks in generals were, half the masks have like a 1-2 time use, but otherwise entirely useless. Keaton Mask, Postman's Mask, Mask of Scents, All-Night Mask, etc. all are used 1-2 times and then forgotten about. The worst offender is the Giant's Mask. You use it a grand total of ONCE and can ONLY be worn in ONE location. Screw that mask. Let's not forget Feirce Deity mask, which you get at the very end and has super limited use, at a point in the game where you've literally done everything else.
Same goes for the songs. Some, very useful. Others, 1-2 uses then irrelevant. That goes to Song of Storms, New Wave Bossa Nova, etc. But like masks, I guess not every song can have a lot of use.
Then there's Tatl. People complained about Navi in OoT but I don't remember Navi being as inconsistent as Tatl. Tatl keeps her memory when you go back in time, that's how she guides you through the game. Except when she doesn't keep her memory... If you're doing a side quest and complete it, reset time, then do it again, Tatl says the exact same stuff, and depending on the quest (like Kafei's quest), acts all surprised like she just didn't see the entire thing before time was reset. Nintendo is highly praised for supposedly paying attention to detail, but clearly there's a lot of things to poke at here.
Termina isn't very big. There's almost no need to ever use Epona, except of course for the times you HAVE to use her to jump over some stuff and a couple of side quests, and that's about it. Controls were sometimes funky, in particular at times when you really needed to control the camera. Was not a big fan there but gameplay was otherwise fine.

All in all, 8/10. Although it may seem like I gave it more cons than pros, I still found the game to be as good, if not slightly worse, than Ocarina of Time, which itself was a fantastic game (and still wildly better than Breath of the Wild).

majora's mask is nowhere near as polished or smooth sailing as ocarina. the 3 day system can be a hassle and a stress-causer. it's harder for younger or less experienced players to get into as the game is much more confusing and indirect with how it gives the player hints. it's harder than OOT.

yet, this game does so much right. probably the only example of a game being as good as it is because it was rushed. i love the depressing and dark atmosphere, i love the residents of clock town and all their individual stories, i love romani ranch, i love the couple's sidequest, and jesus christ how is this game allowed for nintendo's systems there's so much dark depressing **** in it like the ranch, and the deku butler's son, and anju and kafei

in terms of dungeons, what is on offer here isn't as good as ocarina if you ask me. stone tower temple is the absolute **** and probably one of the best zelda dungeons ever, but great bay is frustrating mainly because of the windmill room **** that stray faIry in the pot at the bottom), woodfall is kinda forgettable, and i fell off on snowhead more times than i have washed in the last week.

even though this game may alienate some newer players, especially because of the difficulty if they choose to not use a guide, it's still a must play. the final boss is one of the most intense and blood-pumping in zelda history. (unless you're like me and the first time round you used the fierce deity mask and beat it in a minute)

Termina, for me was a more intriguing setting; there are many mysterious characters and areas, that the game never fully explains to you, but sets up the atmosphere fantastically, such as Clock Tower and the Astral Observatory. Characters like the Happy Mask Salesman and the children in the moon are fantastic, and help to expand on the ambiguous nature of the game. The side quests force players to pay attention to the NPCs in the game, which allows the world to feel that much more grounded. The first time (or times) I played MM I was 11 years old and contrary to what I thought, my English wasn't that good so playing this game again on my thirties was like see another whole new game.

First of all, is not that I have mixed feelings towards MM, I love this game but there are some things that I wish they were less notorious than they are. Let's start with the bad first and move it out of the way: the dungeons, they're memorable but not in a good way (there are only 4 so maybe that also helps), is not that they're terrible, I think they all have a lot of problems in their navigation and design, but what brokes the experience to me is the Stray Fairy mechanic (you need to hunt down 15 fairies in each dungeon in order to obtain power ups), it makes you do a fair amount of backtracking and remember chambers in dungeons that as I told you before, have poor navigation and design, this thing just goes worst on each dungeon, being the 4th dungeon the supreme offender (in there you need to do a mechanic that makes the whole dungeon upside or downside, so if you forget at least 1 fairy you have to reverse it and go all the way to get it), when people joke about the OoT water temple beign annoying because you have to equip and unequip the boots, its because they know nothing or at least they don't know the Stone Tower Temple.

The boss fights have this half-cooked mechanic in which you need to use certain race to defeat it, being a Zora, Deku or Goron in theory that sounds amazing but the only one that hit the mark was the Goron fight, the other ones kind of doesn't. Speaking of fights and continuing with the bad things, the controls can be very stiff in more than few situations, the worse one is the aiming, if you're going to use first-person perspective, good luck.

Given what I told you, you may think that I don't like this game, and in other games sure I wouldn't recommend it but, what this game doesn't have in dungeon and control quality, it triples it in the atmosphere and putting you in the boots of Link. This is a sad game that has all kinds of sad stories and moments, treason, death, abduction, there is a lot of hard and sad themes that are extremely well handed in here, merge them with an outstanding soundtrack and you'll have a game for the ages, it also has this time mechanic which serves as a reminder for you the player and for the world of Termina, it's brilliant 4th wall breaking without you noticing it. One of my favorite things in the game is that no matter how hard you try, you can't help them all because you have limited time and even when you do it, the time resets and everything will happen again, is a sad thought but it does a lot to help the narrative.

Another thing that newer Zeldas haven't matched yet, are the side quests, specifically the Mask quests, they feel so magical and esoteric and makes you connect tons to the characters, my favorite one may be the one of a certain couple, which I won't spoil but it takes three days and some masks to complete, and gives you a fantastic closure to it.

Eiji Aonuma did something very impressive and not short of brilliant, no matter how I hate certain things, they're overwhelmed by the good ones, to me, in no other Zelda game I have felt the weight of the Hero of Time like in Majora's Mask. If you haven't tried yet, please do so, just be wary that the Game Cube (Collector's Edition) version has some crashes and can be very hard to swallow.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Nintendo didn't try to one-up OOT and it shows, but that is the only reason this game works, this game would not have worked with a normal development time, in one year Nintendo made a full Zelda game, and personally speaking, it's my favorite game ever. Every design choice the game makes intentionally is less ambitious then OOT, and it shows. Only four dungeons, only young Link, No Zelda? This game should not work at all. As Nerrel said in his video "Was Majora's Mask 3D a bad remake" he says "the game should have been a train wreck" and it really should have, why would a game as ridiculous as this be ANYONE'S favorite game? Well, where it lacks common sense, it gains in everything else. This is THE most mature Zelda game, it deals with actual death, grief, and pain. Koji Kondo did an amazing soundtrack that fits so well with the game, I like OOT's soundtrack more but MM's is so much more fitting. Without the sidequest this game would literally be as forgotten to Nintendo as the Virtual Boy. It is so hard to describe what MM is. If you haven't played it play it. Don't have an N64? you probably have a Wii or 3DS, get MM3D is you have a 3DS (despite it being far worse than the original), and if you have a Wii by a gamecube memory card (if you don't already have it) and get The Zelda collector's edition, you get MM, OOT and the original 2 Zelda's. One of the most original Zelda games to date (unless you consider its re-use of half of Ocarina of Time's character models), this alternative classic places much more emphasis on different people's stories than one destiny, along with darker themes and wilder artistic moments, all without leaving behind the fun gameplay you know and love, with some great twists.

Continuation of the ocarina of time. A super fun and essential game for the n64 at the level of its predecessor. However, less surprising. Still, an outstanding game.

Majora's Mask, while carryingMajora's Mask is a prime example of something that wasn't fully appreciated at the time of its initial release, but has since developed a massive following, gaining the love and recognition it deserves. There are even debates as to which game between this and OoT is the better Zelda title. Which one you prefer will ultimately be determined by your preference. Majora's Mask, while carrying similar mechanics from OoT, has its own unique flavor and is much less traditional. The world is more strange, mysterious and often grim, and much less focus on traditional dungeon crawling compared to its predecessor. Really, though, both games are great for their own reasons. If you force me to choose between the two games, I'm going to choose Majora's Mask.

Hands down, the best aspect about this game, and the reason I would prefer this to OoT, is the world in which the game takes place. Termina is such a stark contrast to Hyrule, and in my opinion more interesting. The world building is some of the best the series has seen, and it's filled to the brim with interesting characters, each with their own unique stories to tell. MM also absolutely nails its atmosphere. It's easily one of the darkest games in the series, with many moments that completely caught me off guard, both big and subtle, that I didn't think would ever be put into a Nintendo game, let alone a Zelda game.

Of course, it's not just the story and the world that are different. Core gameplay is about the same as it was in OoT. You explore dungeons, beat the boss, collect the thing and move one. However, this time around the game is under a time limit. Thanks to the mischievous Skull Kid, in 3 in-game days, a giant moon with a evil face will drop down on Termina and kill everyone. You will need to collect masks and ancient summon giants to help you stop the moon from falling and stop Skull Kid. Luckily, time is on your side as you can use your ocarina from the previous game to go forward, back and slow down time as you need to. You'll be given three primary masks that will transform you into a Deku Scrub, a Goron Warrior, or a Zora, each with their own unique abilities that get put to great use very often.

Dungeons are also not given as much focus this time around as there are only four main dungeons as opposed to roughly nine. What dungeons there are, though, are some of the most inventive and challenging in the series (looking at you, Great Bay). Instead, side quests are going to be the primary focus. While technically optional, they are one of the only ways you'll be able to gain new equipment and heart pieces, and even then you'll want to go out of your way to do these anyway since the characters you interact with are enjoyable and the stories are so interesting. They range from hilarious to heartwarming to heartbreaking. It's through these side quests that you will earn a majority of the game's masks. Most of the masks are primarily used to complete other side quests, but a few of them do have useful properties outside of them.

The time travel mechanics are put to use the most with the side quests as everyone's routines happen at different times, and many of them require you to fulfill a prerequisite to either complete or even start. Traveling through time is limited, though, as you can only jump forward halfway through a day, and some of them take place at specific points that you will have no choice but to just wait on, and that can be pretty cumbersome.

Majora's Mask is not the most accessible Zelda game out there, so I would be hard-pressed to recommend this as someone's first Zelda experience. However, it is absolutely worth playing at some point. If you are looking for something more dark and unconventional in your Zelda games, this is the one for you.

One of the best 3d zelda. One of the first video games to have open world depth in the genre: characters that have their own daily routines and different ways of interacting with the player.

The game starts off pretty harsh, with link getting stolen from his horse and ocarina by the main villain in which you follow him and get sent to a parrallel world of termina where the world is going to be destroyed in three days and you have to survive those first three days as a deku scrub since Majora cursed you at the beginning. After you turn yourself back into a human, you are forced from now on to constantly ditch the timeline that you currently where in since the odds where impossible to beat and move on to a new one where you learn and fix your mistakes. The whole heading back in time and managing your time shows how human Link is, despite being a hero of time he still has to experience mistakes, grief, failure and the weight that comes with his responsibilities as a hero, especially since after some time playing the game you realize that nearly every hour that passes, Link failed to save someone from a bad fate placed upon them by an evil god. Even while having the power to turn back time, you still can't save everyone, there are people who are impossible to save. Despite that you still move on, you constantly learn, take action and the player realizes the consequences if you don't. After countless errors you start to see your efforts bring happiness to others and even though you still can't save everyone (especially the three transformation mask), you help others by showing them what true healing is, which is to move on by not completely healing their scars and wipe away their grief since its impossible, but by healing them enough so they can walk forward, so they realize that life doesn't end after you experience despair and to see the scars that they carry as a reminder of what they went through and to turn them into reasons to move forward and as a symbol of hope. It's also kind of ironic that the person that heals people with the song of healing and helps everyone in Termina is the one that goes through the most despair and tragedy as a child. Finally one extra thing that is optional in the story is the fierce diety mask which is the most powerful mask in the game, lore wise the mask is giving to you by Majora to fight it after you exchange all of the other mask that where given to you after you helped allot of people, what I like about the mask is that it demonstrates and evil power as bad as Majora and that Majora gives it to you since it thinks that the only way you can beat it is by being as evil and powerful as it is. This is a completely new world and experience, and I love it. As much as I love the story of the Triforce, and Zelda and all that, I think it's awesome that it isn't your traditional Zelda game. Although, the thing that makes this game, is the side quests, and mask collecting. Every single side quest is perfectly thought out and just brilliant. And collecting the masks is so satisfying. Even though I'm talking a lot of good about this game, there is also some bad. Every dungeon (Except Stone Tower Temple) felt underwhelming. I mean none of them were terrible, but Zelda dungeons need to be better than this. Also the majority of the bosses are just really forgettable. This game probably has some of the worst and most underwhelming bosses in the series. If your looking for a nice and easy ride, then maybe Majora's Mask isn't for you. This is by far the hardest 3D Zelda so far. But the big question is, is Majora's Mask better than Ocarina of Time? It's super close for me, but I have to go with Ocarina. I give Majora's Mask a 9/10, and an A+. Expand

This game is better than ocarina of time. I said it. That's not nostalgia talking. I actually played the game for the first time last year, and it was amazing. Now if you noticed, I gave the game a 9/10, and that's because of one thing. Its not super accessible. The game has a save system that makes the game harder, plus there's some classic N64 jank, but **** that. This game is a masterpiece.

SPOILERS after that. First of all, the biggest factor in giving me 9 points is that there is a limited time loop in the game. In fact, this makes the game more effective in terms of fear. You are more stressed, especially if you have just started the game and know little about time. It makes the story more impactful, but somewhat limits the sense of exploration in the open world. And most importantly, when the day wraps up, all the items you collect are gone. (except permanent abilities and rubbies). This makes it unimportant to collect chests and buy anything from the trader. The limited time makes it difficult to collect fairys in the game because if you can't find them in time, the dungeon is reset. Bomber quests are hard to finish all of them. I liked the dungeons of the game in general, but some bosses are unnecessarily difficult because there are limited hearts in the boss area, but each of them is beautiful in design.
Probably the hardest one of the zelda game. Combat is easy, but it is really difficult to progress in the game without a guide. You can miss many things and sometimes you get lost in the game. They tried something different and succeeded. It didn't impress me as much as OOT. But its just as good a game.

"Whenever there is a meeting, a parting is soon to follow."

This line from the game stuck with me. Throughout my play of Majora's Mask, I slowly grew emotionally attached to it. It's one of those experiences in gaming I will surely never forget. The dark, twisted story enthralled me from the get-go and maintained that compelling nature up until the end. Majora's Mask brims with diverse people, with each, have lives and jobs they do every day, like normal human beings. It amps up the immersion level, and I have never played a game like this that has people actively do their normal day-to-day lives. The game lives and breathes with side-quests, and has one of the best side quests in a game I've ever encountered, even better than OoT IMO. Within those side quests, we also learn about the people of Termina and the lore that surrounds the place, which gives a deeper level of depth. But, these side quests are pretty hard to begin or to know if it even began because of how vague the implications are. This is the main reason why Majora's Mask is hard. But that doesn't stop there. 2 out of the 4 dungeons in the game (Great Bay and Stone Tower) are headache-inducing. The first two (Woodfall and Snowhead) were normally easy to follow and to figure out, but the collection of fairies making it a little bit more challenging. The other two are a lot more complex with the dungeon design, to the point it gets pretty confusing. Finding the fairies in these dungeons also add to the difficulty. The Water Temple in OoT was hard, but these two from MM were a lot more painful to go through, IMO. The fiends are diverse. There are a couple of new enemies and recurring ones as well. The bosses, though not as balanced as OoT, were a joy to battle with. They're a lot easier than expected to be honest, but entertaining nonetheless. The gameplay and combat don't do anything new, just the same old mechanics OoT used, but there is a very unique mechanic that separates Majora's Mask from its predecessor; The introduction of masks. This was fun as hell. Not only were there over 20 collectible masks, with each have its own distinct abilities, but there are masks that also make you transform into different races; Deku, Goron, and Zora which are types of equipment you need in order to progress the story. When you collect all the masks, you get rewarded with an OP transformation mask that is a supercharged Adult Link, which looks so badass. But the masks aren't just collectibles you find out of nowhere, they come from different places from different people with stories that are attached to the masks obtained, and it was just such a great thing, for it gave profundity to each person, even though they don't affect the main narrative in general. Exploration is still a huge part of the game. I know that other people were kind of conflicted with Majora's Mask idea of having a 3-day time limit which in turn, made some people think that exploration would become a lot more restricted or limited, but as I played the game, I think otherwise. You can go back through time to do some errands or slow the flow of time so that you can do something that consumes a lot of time, like going to dungeons or doing a lengthy side quest. Honestly, MM has never felt very restrictful, it's just a thought fragmented by the visible time limit. MM deals with a lot of things thematically and it reflects within the characters. The main characters are nothing but phenomenal and perfectly contemplates the game's themes. Skull Kid's character arc was depressing as hell, and the things he did whilst being possessed by the mask were all f*cked up. The Giants are the usual Gods, but these godly beings are the main reason for Skull Kid's descent to sadness but redeemed themselves for saving him along with the help of Link. Link, as always, is portrayed as the light and hope of Termina. But the sad thing is, at the end of the game, we never saw Link find Navi, which left a melancholic impression on me. The people of Termina were quite odd at first, but with a little bit of digging, I found a conflict between the townsfolks that want to uphold and continue the traditional festival for the culture and tourists' sakes despite The Moon, against soldiers who want nothing but the safety of the people. It was quite fascinating to see the altercations of two different factions. Majora's Mask is a one-of-a-kind game. It's my favorite Zelda game so far (yes I played OoT first). I put this game above OoT for I am more inclined towards the darker tone, atmosphere, and narrative this unique Zelda game took plus, MM utilized the ocarina a lot more often in doing time stuff, which if you read my OoT review here on Metacritic, is a critique I gave. Yet, I would never dismiss the fact that Ocarina of Time has the title of the best game ever because of how influential it is and what it did to the gaming landscape. Majora's Mask is a 10/10. Would play again.

Not to mention that many of these versatile side quests gives you a rewarding feeling following the completion and rewards that comes with them. This game takes you to a parallel world to that of hyrule where you must complete the game in the span of 3 in game days. Granted, the game plays out in a set of events that repeats itself when you go back in time. You must correct these events to play out in the required way piece for piece in order for the world to not go under until you have access to the whole game/to get the items you want from the side quests. It's like a big puzzle. The game also speaks to you on an emotional level and makes you sympathize especially for the deceased characters that you encounter throughout the game. You will also find a lot of people expressing that this game has a dark tone to it, to which i fully agree on. To me, saving the world by taking on the forms of sorrowful deceased individuals while the towns people prepares for a huge festival in denial of the moon closing in on the planet gives it a sad and dark feeling to me. Really the only downside of this game to me is that the main storyline is pretty short. Though i can't blame the creators as they had only a year to make this game. I could go on forever about the greatness of this game. It's virtually flawless. It's truly a piece of art. Expand

Zelda Majora Mask superou Zelda Ocarina of Time .

Popular opinion states that Ocarina of Time is the best 3D Zelda game ever, I disagree, What Ocarina of Time did in 3 and a half years, Majora's Mask did better in less than two, and they even re-used assets, while Majora's Mask only has a few dungeons, it has way more charm and personality than Ocarina did.

This is not only my favorite video game but my favorite piece of media ever made. It's truly incredible how this game was so cleverly crafted under the deadline of a year. This game is a step up from Ocarina of Time in nearly every way and I don't even know where to begin with describing it.

This game's world is so immersive and unique with characters who feel truly real and alive, everyone has their own schedules, problems, jobs, emotions, ambitions, fear, or anger.
Although there are only four dungeons, three of them are fantastic and arguably the best in the series. The optional treasures found in the temples are really exciting and satisfying to find, the bosses are all unique from one another and don't get old. The stories leading up and after them are extremely compelling and show fantastic themes of determination, grief, and sorrow.
Now I need to speak of the elephant in the room. Or I guess, the moon in the sky.
The whole game is set under a 72-minute cycle that you can repeat or speed up. This one mechanic is what makes people either love the game or hate it. Guess which side I'm on. Every part of every area is so perfectly made for this mechanic and has pacing to pose a challenge for you to complete them in time, but also being very achievable. I personally love this mechanic but it always feels extremely stressful and like you can't waste any time. If you're someone who can't deal with something like that, I understand.
All in all, Majora's Mask feels like an ascension compared to its predecessor and needs to be played to be understood. And I am not exaggerating. No matter how much you know about the game, no matter how many playthroughs you've seen, no matter how much you think you know about it, it is never enough. It should be played if you want to have a fantastic time, and I have no doubt that it's one of the best video games ever made.

    - Best 3d Bosses: Goht is my favorite Zelda boss ever, and honestly, all the boss battles in this game are fun and creative

    - Great Side Content: I love side quests in games in general since I love interacting with the world and Majora's Mask has great ones. They each have their own unique little story or some fun gameplay. Theres also other fun side content like the Spider Houses and the Deku Race

    - 3 Day Time Mechanic: its very detailed, and since you can always reset it, it makes the time element fun for certain side quests, unstressful when exploring, but stressful during dungeons and trying to get those stray fairies to the great fairy. Best done timer in any video game

    - The Masks: especially the transformation masks, I love the different abilities the masks can give you, which definitely made up a lot for that with the masks

    - The World: Termina is my personal favorite Zelda world from any Zelda game. Its wierdness makes everything interesting and unique and its the kind of world that even though its small its fun to explore it and find everything in it

    - Moon feels like a Threat: Ganon rarely feels like a threat in most Zelda games, but the moon always feels like a great threat and the third day does a good job of making you feel that

    - The Music: some of Zelda's best tracks, Song of Healing is one of my favorite Zelda songs of all time, and some of my favorites from OOT were brought back, like Song of Storms. Also Final Hours is an incredible soundtrack since it makes the third day feel like the world is about to end

    - The Atmosphere: I like the dark creepy atmosphere of this game

    - Great Characters: I love the characters in this game. Every single character has their own unique story and side quest, and I love seeing all the characters react to the moon falling. They are a lot better and more developed then Ocarina of Time's characters IMO

Majora excels at it's storytelling, gameplay mechanics, and emotional in-depth characters that are paranoid about the moon coming down to destroy the world.

The "mask" mechanic is something completely original to the Zelda series, well at least masks that actually give you things to power you up. Excluding the ones in Ocarina, only one of them really does anything.

I can't express enough how amazing this game is, especially for a game that had to be rushed out after the successfulness of it's predecessor.

If you're into puzzle games, then I HIGHLY suggest that you go ahead and get this game ASAP. It's a wonderful experience from top to bottom, and the music, cutscenes, and unique ideas make this way better than Ocarina.

If you aren't a fan of the time limit, then just... Play Ocarina. It's similar to Majora gameplay wise, but just remove the mask abilities and it's very, very similar.

Well, that's all I really have to say about this game. If you love emotional games, then I suggest you do the side quests and soak in all of those moments that really give this game the respect it deserves.

I don't have much to really say about this game. I can't think of that much criticism towards Majora, because I personally didn't have much of a problem while playing. This game is fundamentally a masterpiece that all Zelda fans enjoy... But I personally can't say the same for a game named, "Breath of the Wild" BUT THAT'S A STORY FOR ANOTHER DAY...

Though somewhat contested among its fans, it is pretty simple to me that Majora's Mask is my all-time favorite Zelda game. The incredible atmosphere, equally chilling soundtrack, mixed with some of the best gameplay and story concepts the series has ever laid down, makes for the most adventurous game in the entire series for me.

The characters are some of the most memorable in the entire franchise, the 3 day cycle is actually a refreshing mechanic, the best part of the game is the collecting of the masks and being rewarded with the games ultimate mask as well as interacting with all the characters and their various quests and stories, anyone who doesn't like this game, doesn't appreciate good characters.

  1. Where Majora rises to the top is its concept – three days to save the world. The execution of the idea is flawless: time means everything and the player always has to be aware. The save system is absolutely perfect, letting players feel comfortable in controlling time but still keeping them on the edge of their seats when things get hairy.
