  1. Resident Evil 2 is not just a great game, but also proof that the N64 can do the supposedly impossible when developers put their minds to it. An incredible achievement.
  2. I can't say it enough: Resident Evil 2 for Nintendo 64 looks and sounds amazing. Aside from a few very minor flaws, RE2 is one of the best N64 games this year. If you own an N64, buy this game.

Resident Evil 2 for Nintendo 64 is, quite frankly, the best version of the game anybody living in the US is going to get. It boasts improved visuals thanks to the 4MB Expansion Pak, enhanced high-resolution mode and smoothened out pre-rendered backdrops with no jaggies.

It's about time Nintendo 64 gamers got a chance to survive the horror. Capcom finally brings the PlayStation classic to the Nintendo 64, and they've done the impossible. The problem is that the N64 isn't quite the best place for this evil to take residence.
  5. This is what a PlayStation to Nintendo 64 conversion should be - enhancing the original to make the most of the new host machine.
  6. A huge improvement over the first title, RE2 succeeds in making you feel as though you're in the middle of a horror film - one in which you'll jump many, many times. If you've already played the PlayStation or PC versions of RE2, there's really no reason to buy this game, but for N64 owners who haven't tried yet, it's an absolute must-have.
  7. Nintendo 64 owners have reason to be scared. At long last, Resident Evil 2 sinks its teeth into the system. With a high graphic violence quotient and chilling zombie horror reminiscent of Night of the Living Dead, Resident Evil 2 is not for the faint of heart. Rather, it is for the survival-horror enthusiast with a taste for action and blood.

Angel Studios did the impossible back in 1999 with this game. They ported a PlayStation game with fully animated cutscenes to the N64. ItAngel Studios did the impossible back in 1999 with this game. They ported a PlayStation game with fully animated cutscenes to the N64. It plays just like the PlayStation version but you have the option of changing the direction of the controls if you want which was different from the PS1 version. Plus, you can control the level of violence shown to a degree and change the color of the blood. Not to mention there were more files scattered throughout this version that filled in more of the story background. I played this game a couple of times years ago and completed it and could still fire it up today and enjoy it. PlayStation was, for the most part, considered the superior system but this game showed that if you had a developer with the savvy the N64 could be just as good. Expand

I had a good time playing it. Definitely a must have nintendo 64 title. Good atmosphere, fine gameplay and a good story. When I play this gameI had a good time playing it. Definitely a must have nintendo 64 title. Good atmosphere, fine gameplay and a good story. When I play this game I don't really feel it has aged much, maybe that is just me. To those people that say "Oooh. the graphics are bad, and also the gameplay is hard" How ignorant can you be? How can you call yourself a gamer and not know that games before before xbox 360 and ps3, all had bad graphics. Look up any game before 2000. Do you even know that games age? This game was great for it's time. Expand

I feel really bad rating this game so low, because I know that most people love this game, but I didn't really enjoy it. The camera view madeI feel really bad rating this game so low, because I know that most people love this game, but I didn't really enjoy it. The camera view made it very tough for me to control the character and took away from my experience. Also gave me too many enemies in the game which made it less scary and more frustrating. I feel that Silent Hill, a game with similar camera mechanics, pulled it off better and was all around a better game. Haven't played any other games in the Resident Evil franchise, but I would definitely give them a try as well as give this game another chance. Expand
